I WAS absolutely delighted to see Lincoln Rocks bolt up yesterday having advised him at 10/1 in the morning. Daniel Tudhope once again has done us proud with a double figure winner and a beautifully judged ride from the front. Take a bow son.

There is some cracking racing today and having initially thought that there wasn't much for us from a betting perspective, further inspection has revelealed quite a few that I like the look of for a bet.

1.55pm

We turn to Danny Tudhope again here where he is an eye-catching booking for Godolphin on RED GALILEO.  I can't recall off the top of my head any previous races where Tudhope has been booked to ride Godolphin horses. Let's hope it doesn't become a regular thing because it might erode some of the value we get from backing his rides. This race looks very competitive and there are some at a bigger price who do catch the eye like Mukhayyam who is in the form of his life, Speedo Boy who is an unexposed 3 year old and Fidaawy who is a lightly raced 4 year old with a bit of bad luck last time out.

RED GALILEO though has rock solid form, particularly his 2nd place finish last time at Ascot with several of these horses in behind him where he didn't get a clear run. I'm not sure he would have won but he would have been a lot closer and he has only gone up 1 lb in the handicap. I think he is the one to concentrate on again at a price that is backable each way with four places available.

2.25pm

This race revolves around THOMAS HOBSON for me. The Willie Mullins-trained, Rich Ricci-owned horse looked magnificent  winning the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot in June and was then only beaten by one 4 days later at the same festival in the Alexandra Stakes.

I don't think the extra furlong and a bit did him any favours that day and it was also a big ask only 4 days on from his previous run (albeit he looked like he won that with the cigar out).  This is a step up today, no doubt about it, with this being a Group 2 race but I think he will relish it. I can see Jim Crowley popping him it out in front then kicking away from them when push comes to shove.

3.00pm

This is another cracking race.  I like Daban but she is just a touch too short for me given that there are 19 runners and she hasn't seen a racecourse since Royal Ascot. Suedios is tempting too for Danny Tudhope with a nice third in Group 2 company last time out.

The one I fancy though is our old friend RUSUMAAT who did the business for us back in May at a nice price and I think he is overpriced again today. He is stepping up from handicaps into a Group race and that is tricky of course but he is a real gutsy performer, ground is no issue and I can see him battling all the way to the line.

3.35pm

I have said all week that this race is not a betting race for me – I can't wait to see Lady Aurelia and Battaash go head to head. Lady Aurelia won me plenty of cash at Ascot last year and she looks like an absolute superstar but so does Battaash.

Whilst we are watching those two battle it out let's have a very small each way on DUKE OF FIRENZE though. I am stunned to see my old pal available at 100/1 over a course and distance that he loves. Yes this is a huge step up but if the front two in the market get everyone else hard at work early doors you just never know and he will give us a small interest at a silly price.

4.50pm

APPOINTED is too big a price at 20/1 with some firms paying 4 places. The Tim Eaaterby horse wasn't suited by the step up in distance last time and he could have more to offer at this trip. Looks good each way value for an in-form stable who won't be sending him here for a day out.
