IT'S the penultimate round of fixtures in French Ligue 2 tonight with a full card for us to get stuck into.
Yet again this league has been one of my most profitable and I’ll be sorry to see the season end.
Before that though there are two crunch games In Scotland with two teams looking to remain in the SPL and another two trying to get promoted into it.
Dundee United v Dunfermline
The 1st leg turned into a bit of damp squid with the game finishing 0-0 after the Pars were reduced to 10 men early on. If Dunfermline wanted to progress they really needed a result at home – for me the opportunity is gone and United should get through this tie.
They are strong at home and have players who are used to playing in big matches. You are actually getting a very decent price for United to win the tie in 90 mins but I’m happy to take them double chance. Dunfermline have done exceptionally well to get this far with their squad but United have more quality in their ranks and should progress (would be criminal if they don’t given their budget is the highest in the league by quite some distance).
Patrick Thistle v Ross County
The phrase “this is a 6 pointer” gets bandied about a lot, but this really is the epitome of a 6 pointer. It's do or die for Ross County, lose this and they are down – win and it's Thistle who should be worried.
Thistle have picked up 21 of their 29 points at home, while Ross county have won just three away games all season. Both sides will be going for this but Thistle’s home advantage should ensure they manage at last a draw from this game.

French Ligue 2 should see plenty of goals around as we have done over the past 3-4 weeks. Have picked out a double:
- Brest v US Quevilly
- Lorient v Bourg

Looking to make it 5 wins on the spin in the total match goals special in this league. The bookies have finally caught up with this and set the markets much lower (the price has shorted since yesterday (8-11 for 28+ is now 8-15).
It's a bit frustrating but I still feel we can land the next level up at 30+ goals 10-11. It's a full card and like previous weeks we will almost certainly get 3-4 games seeing 4+ goals. Lots to play for in this league so should be there or thereabouts.
