HERE are Milesey's best bets for day four of the Betfair World Championship, focusing on first-round matches including Judd Trump and Ding Junhui.

Judd Trump v Dominic Dale

Back Dominic Dale to win 4u @ 6.0
Place in-running order to lay 8u @ 3.0
Back Dominic Dale to win +4.5 handicap 5u @ 1.85

The head-to-head record between these two Welshmen reads 4-0 to Judd Trump but that doesn't begin to tell the story. Leaving aside a defeat in China, Dominic “The Spaceman” Dale could have won three of them and didn't enjoy the best of luck.

Most recently, Trump came from the dead to win 4-3 in the Welsh Open, having traded at heavily odds-against in-running.

Twelve months ago when meeting at this same stage of the World Championship Dale led for long spells before going down 10-7.

A few months earlier at the UK Championship he unluckily lost 6-4. Moreover, Trump was at the peak of his powers ahead of those two matches and that cannot be said now.

He hasn't reached a final since last November, losing in ranking events to qualifiers such as Jack Lisowski, Anthony Hamilton, Mark Joyce and Alfie Burden. Dale is higher ranked than all of that quartet and beat the last-named 10-5 to reach The Crucible.

History and form may still point towards a Trump win but in terms of trading value, backing Dale is a no-brainer. My plan is to take 6.0 pre-match then cash out, doubling my money if he shortens to 3.0 at any stage in-running. A bet on Dale covering the six frames required to win the handicap is also strongly advised.

Ding Junhui v Alan McManus

Back Ding Junhui to beat McManus 10-4 2u @ 8.0
Back Ding Junhui to beat McManus 10-5 2u @ 7.6
Back Ding Junhui to beat McManus 10-6 2u @ 7.4

This one-sided match looks ideal for correct score purposes. 1.16 favourite Ding Junhui looks certain to win while his experienced opponent has enough about him to avoid total humiliation.

Alan McManus is a pale shadow of the player who once reached the Crucible semis yet retains a competitive ranking thanks to a sound tactical game.

That might give “Angles” the edge in any scrappy frames although it's hard to imagine him keeping pace with Ding's scoring. This combination of scores equates to around 2.5 and looks bound to have a live chance towards the end of the match.

Nice to see you get a winner ;) ;) ;) another of my calls going strong. Trumps on fire. Easily quarter winner :)

  10. Milesey 11 years ago

As long as Ronnie or Robertson win the final, then all is good for me ;) ;)

I’ll still put up the daily tips for it’s nice to have a snooker thread on the go.

  11. ellis 11 years ago

Just Robertson for me ;) you neeed to employ me. You might actually get some winners. Don’t mind writing some articles if U want them hahaha ;) ;) ;)

Ellis, couldn’t take the gloating to be honest.

  12. ellis 11 years ago

Just winding milesy up Mr F. Nothing to be big headed about you win some you lose some. I just do better at sports like snooker and basketball. Basketball being easy to analyse and make easy money. Snooker, like darts i just follow all the time its just difficult to predict

I like to get my tips across haha just hard to convey across the comments section. I appreciate the hard work milesy puts into his tips

    • Sean Ireland 11 years ago

Post some regular Basketball tips then,im all for it if you think its ”easy to predict”

    • ellis 11 years ago

Ok mate. Very hard to find one tonight other than the extremely short priced treble

      Nets 1/4
      Knicks 1/3
      Heat 1/28

      literally all that’s on tonight

    • Guido 11 years ago

1/28?..F^^^ me. Not worth the bother

    • ellis 11 years ago

Yes but like I say that’s all that’s on for the basketball tonight

  13. ellis 11 years ago

Anyone paying attention who fancies a little punt tonight…

Don’t back it big!!! Worth a few quid is Ben woollaston at 100/30 to win against Ali Carter

He’s in fine form and last night this game was finely poised

    Good luck !!

    • Millesey 11 years ago

      Carter A. 10
      Woollaston B. 4

      Great TIP ! hahahaha ;) ;)

1/28 really ? you putting 28k on that one ?

You couldn’t even get the darts right last thursday, and according to you, you stuck your neck out ? really ? i hit 5/6 compared to your 3/6, and i also hot 2 correct scores, you’ve not put a decent tip up for a correct score in the snooker or the darts, and if your going to tip a 1/28 , why not just give a good handicap bet for that game then ?

Got to admit i did do an overnight 8 team accie a couple of weeks ago on Basketball,Ice hockey and Baseball, small sum and not huge odds but to my surprise it came in,only time ive ever tried it so might be a way to go for a while.Be good if there was someone in here that knew a bit about these sports, not sure theyre popular in the outer Hebrides so Mr Fixits knowledge may be limited.

  15. ellis 11 years ago

Well yeah like I say that’s a treble I can be confident on just don’t like tipping it because it looks like I literally jumped on the outright favourites

    • Millesey 11 years ago

I treble you feel confident with ?

so it was you who tipped the england win at 1/500 when they played san marino, now thats sticking your neck out ;) ;)

      Milesey

  16. Sean Ireland 11 years ago

Doesnt matter ellis after viewing the 1/28 tip i tipped the sofa over and 20p rolled out, thatll do me cheers :)

    • Guido 11 years ago

hahaha..i like that one Sean :-)

  17. ellis 11 years ago

I had £200 in play on that Chinese bloke haha

Milesy I genuinely do respect you. Think of a snooker competition and we will see who really is the better man haha

And yeah woolaston was terrible haha a right waste of time. U have a right to rip into me for that

  18. ellis 11 years ago

Poomjaeng just couldn’t be bothered to spell it

  19. ellis 11 years ago

And I don’t like doing things like this but MIA Heat -14.0 20/23

  20. Millesey 11 years ago

    Poomjaeng 9 – 9,

Just watching the last frame and he’s making a right meal out of it, he’s out of position on every shot.

    Milesey

  21. ellis 11 years ago

Dreadful isn’t he. Ever since yesterday I thought he was destined for it. Worth a shot at yesterdays odds in play of 3/1

    • Millesey 11 years ago

He’s well funny though, he is fluking everything and keeps apologising for it.

      Milesey

  22. ellis 11 years ago

    Thought of a contest yet ;) ;) ;)

  23. Millesey 11 years ago

  24. ellis 11 years ago

  25. Millesey 11 years ago

hahahaha i’m not offended by no one on here ;) ;)

    ROBERTSON 10 – 4 MILKINS
    and
    BINGHAM 10 – 6 BAIRD

    Milesey

  26. ellis 11 years ago

I like that haha U nicked the score I was going to pick for Robertson haha so ill go

    Bingham 10 – 5 Baird

    Robertson 10 – 3 Milkins

  27. ellis 11 years ago

Maguire looks like he’s about to cry!!

  28. Millesey 11 years ago

hahaha, so funny…. fair play to him. i went safe with the +4.5 @ 2.0 :)

    Milesey

  29. ellis 11 years ago

Ye I just thought when he was 5-3 up 3/1 seemed too generous a price so jumped on what looked a very downbeat maguire

  30. ellis 11 years ago

Milesy, surely Robertson -4.5 at EVS is worth a hit, something we can both agree on

  31. Millesey 11 years ago

hahahaha, yep just put that up for the snooker thread , ;) ;)

    Milesey

  32. ellis 11 years ago

    Haha let tomorrows antics begin.

  33. ellis 11 years ago

Just out of interest who do you think will win out of robbo and o Sullivan, if you had to pick an outright winner

  34. Stephen 11 years ago

    Robbo hopefully
