MAYBE the best tip you'll get tonight is: Don't bet on these matches!

They are notoriously difficult to call and in my mind teams only take it seriously at the semi-final stage.

So expect form to go out of the window tonight and most sides will make many changes.

I'm not tipping much but am putting up one or two sides who should win plus a both teams to score line because of the random nature of that market.

I saw Exeter boss Paul Tidsdale say he would be playing his strongest side because he didn't want to affect momentum after a good start. Up from he has ex-Rangers star Alan Gow and former Bristol Rovers are Jamie Cureton at his disposal and both should excel at this level. Consider Exeter at 1-1 (Coral) at home to an Aldershot side who have lost in the first round in the past two seasons.

Notts County will make changes but hopefully not to many at Scunthorpe side who have lost five in a row. Look at County at 7-5 (various).

My both teams to score picks start with the live match between local rivals Portsmouth and Bournemouth which finished 1-1 when they met a couple of weeks ago.

York's last six have seen both score and they travel to a Rotherham side on target in their last six. Take that and add Bristol Rovers v Yeovil, a fixture that has seen both net in four of the last five.

I also like the look of Accrington v Morecambe. Both won 3-0 last weekend and this match has seen both score in four of five meetings.

Complete the line with Southport v Gateshead from the Conference. Their last three meetings have produced 15 goals with both scoring.

Both teams to score

Portsmouth v Bournemouth

Accrington v Morecambe

Rotherham v York

Bristol Rovers v Yeovil

Southport v Gateshead

Perm any 4 and all 5 (6 bets)

Pays a biggest £151.60 to a £10 stake at Stan James

Super Single

Exeter
(1-1, Coral)

Is it me or are the odds for btts getting shorter? Slowly going off this bet, having too select 2many for a fair return,

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Mark, they’ve been getting shorter for some time but that reflects how well punters are doing on it. Prices were falsely big when they came out and even now are probably too big so take them while you can.

    Hi Paul

    correct score

    exeter 3 – 0 aldershot

    16/1 with betfred

  3. Joe knotts 12 years ago

Was gonna take exeter and notts county dble but think i’ll take your advice and steer clear. Gonna have a wee punt on US open instead. Ferrer to beat Gasquet 3-0 and Sharapova to beat Bartoli 2-0. Double comes in a bawhair under 3/1.

i agree mark btts used to be a great value bet but now some game are priced 1/2 4/7 etc no value any more

Happens all the time :( I remember when ht/ft bets first came out they were minimum 4/1. I remember man utd were coming in most weeks on draw/man utd and i made a few quid. Then it went to 7/2 then 3/1 and now as low as 11/4 !! Its not like bookies arent making money from these bets, they just get greedy when the bets become popular and try to screw a bit more outta punters!

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Joe, at the end of the day bookies price up every market so they can win. If they’re not winning they will cut the price or stop the market. That’s business I’m afraid.

As IV said this bet is drinking in the last. Chance saloon with me, but I can’t resist crawley v gillingham, braintree v klddermister, southport v gateshead ,btts 8/11, 8/11, 4/7.

Just checking – the Super Single last night was Exeter wasn’t it? And they lost on penalties… Not having a go, just clarifying!

Big fan of your site Mr Fixit.

Joe, you’re spot on so I’ll start that thread again. My Super Single was a toss-up between Exeter and Yeovil and was convinced I’s taken Yeovil and obviously should have done.

  10. robbie d 12 years ago

Mr F, do you think that Yeovil are a good shout for this weekend? I like the look of them, Swindon, Crawley and Gillingham in the League One/Two games. Yeovil at over evens seem the best value.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Robbie, I need to get Friday games out of the way and will then look at Saturday but for sure Yeovil are going well.

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Robbie, I’ll putting up the Friday tips tomorrow. It’s a tough start for Wales and Belgium are the group favourites. They have some fantastic players but Wales should give them a decent game. I’d rather take Belgium to win than HT/FT.
