ANDY MURRAY went from unbeatable to unbackable as his US Open bid was ended by Kei Nishikori.

The Scot lost his temper and his form as he went down in a five-set thriller – and I lost my Super Single.

That's three out of three losers for me on the tennis this week and I'm leaving it to the likes of Johnb from now on.

They've turned a profit on the football into a loss and I'll be looking to recoup it over the weekend.

It's another quiet day so there will be nothing from me but I'll have plenty for Friday and Saturday.

Hey Mr f going to barca v Celtic next week bought a tkt in the home end I’m hoping that should be ok to get in.
Any thoughts guys would be appreciated

    • maccathered 8 years ago

If i were you i wouldn’t let on the fact you are an away supporter, don’t think it would go down to well with the spanish, although you will get a better view in the home section.Awat fans need binoculars.

    • Alves 8 years ago

Don’t be daft Macathered, plenty folk have been sitting in the home section in Barca over the years with no trouble at all. Wouldn’t advise it in Saturday though ?

    • maccathered 8 years ago

You been have you??i been plenty of times and the police there don’t take kindly mate, seen fans get taken out.

    • townie 8 years ago

Cheers alves & maccathered hopefully all should be ok

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

No idea – my team’s never played Barcelona away and if they did I’d be sitting in the away end.
Alves has replied and I’m sure plenty of Celtic games have been to the Nou Camp for this fixture.

    • maccathered 8 years ago

You would get a better view in the home end but the spanish police are rather intolerable, alves will know this because he would have been humpteen times with celtic being champions league regulars.Liverpool have never been to the nou camp or never won the champs league so what do i know eh.

    • maccathered 8 years ago

Having said that mybad as i am not a celtic fan so it would be different kettle of fish,i know when i went there weren’t any of our fans in the home end not that i saw anyway.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

I’d had thought there would be no problem sitting in the away end with no colours and not celebrating Celtic goals. Just nod if someone speaks to you.

    • townie 8 years ago

Just need to top up the tan so we don’t look like the obvious milk bottle Scots,
      Like the comments guys.

Well with my last free fiver from Djokovic EW in US open I’ve taken Monfils at 4/1 to guarantee a return for my ££. Surely he’ll win it now with Murray out but you never know. £12.50 EW so £20, £18.75 or £43.75 back in that order for semi, runner up or winner. That’ll tide me over to payday next week either way ?

    • alex_mufc83 8 years ago

      Hi Alves,

What is the actual market you have bet on for Monfils?

I’m on Bet365 and don’t see any markets other than Outright winner (win only) of the US open, and match betting between Djokovic and Monfils… nothing that gives runner up payouts for semi/runner up?

Just taking a look at the games for the weekend, have picked out a few games that look good for goals in England and Scotland. Premiership looks very unpredictable this weekend so I’ll be waiting for team news before putting money on them.

First game I like the look of for goals is with my club Wolves. They take on a Burton side who have seen a 4-3 defeat and a 2-2 draw in their previous two away games.
Over 2.5 goals has also came in for all their home games except for the narrow 1-0 win over neighbours Derby.
Wolves have an abundance of new attacking options but still look suspect at the back and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a high scoring game with both teams netting a couple each at least.
Keeping it simple the over 2.5 offers good value and at 17/13 has to be taken up IMO.

    Wolves v Burton
    Over 2.5 goals
    17/13
    MarathonBet

I’ve also drew up a selection of games that look good for goals and I’ll be throwing them into a 4/1 accumulator for over 1.5 goals.

    Wolves v Burton
    Fulham v Birmingham
    QPR v Blackburn
    Peterborough v Port Vale
    Carlisle v Leyton Orient
    Ross County v Motherwell

    All over 1.5 goals
    4/1
    Betstars

  14. recoba 8 years ago

Set my alarm to cover on Wawrinka expecting my bet to be waiting on Del Porto only to see Murray had made an ar$e of it. ?
Then rolled over n left out putting few £s on Wawrinka 3-1/3-2.

Fancied Warinka as be would be nice n fresh.
    Onwards…?

  15. Johnb 8 years ago

    Saturday 3pm
    Dumbarton v Hibernian
Only injury news so far is the loss of Liam Fontaine,
In the last 21 months these teams have met 7 times and Hibernian have scored 22 goals,
previous stats are pointless because teams change but Hibernian this season are far better than they were in any of those seven games,
We don’t have a weak link in the team and we have strength in depth in the squad, with the defence looking solid and two wing backs in Lewis Stevenson and David Gray that are giving us width and tearing teams apart and when you add in our midfielders any four of Marvin Bartley, Dylan McGeouch, James Keatings, Fraser Fyvie, John McGinn or Andy Shinnie then upfront two of Jason Cummings, Martin Boyle, Grant Holt or Brian Graham.
Hibernian have serious goal threats all over the pitch which is why I keep saying a few teams are going to get a hammering this season
4-0 in our last league game but that’s not a big win.

    Anytime Goalscorers
    ANDY SHINNIE 21/10 bet365
    BRIAN GRAHAM 7/5 ladbrokes

HIBERNIAN to Score over 2.5 goals 17/10 NAP/NB coral (double stake)
HIBERNIAN to Score over 3.5 goals 9/2 coral
HIBERNIAN to Score over 4.5 goals 12/1 coral
HIBERNIAN to Score over 5.5 goals 33/1 coral

As the team starts to gel and play better every week 5 of my last 7 Hibs tips have come in and more this week

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

I’ve written up my Scottish tips and I hate the short price on Hibs.
Dumbarton’s a difficult venue especially if it’s windy as it’s so exposed.
The Sons beat Dundee Utd at home and if Hibs score more than 3 I think they’ll be doing brilliantly.
Might watch the second half from the park with the dug after the Bankies game.

    • recoba 8 years ago

Beat Hibs about this time last season too if I recollect lik right?
      2-1
Agree with your weather worries Mr F its bouncing at the moment (seen quieter raves ?) the now and is only to get worse. Match abandoned? NAP/Nb ?

Na surely not so early in season
      GL Saturday John ?

    • Johnb 8 years ago

Mr f yeah Boghead was just as bad especially for away fans,
In the last 4 meetings at Dumbarton we have scored 11 goals, admittedly we got 6 of those in one game but we are far better this season,
I know I keep saying it but I honestly think the football we are playing is the best I can remember,
I know it’s the Championship but every player is better than championship level

  16. cockerspaniel 8 years ago

Aye i think Dumbarton beat Hibs at boghead last season, i know it counts for nothing regarding Saturdays game. but i think Hibs will be happy with any kind of win.

    • Johnb 8 years ago

Yeah we lost both games at Dumbarton last season 2-1 & 3-2 the 3-2 game we were 3-0 down but like I say we are a far better team this season

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

If the weather’s like it is today it will be a scrap.

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Boghead’s long gone thankfully but their new stadium has no soul.

cockerspaniel you find that Dumbarton has been away from boghead for a number of years now they play at new Strathclyde Homes Stadium which is far more exposed than Boghead was ,

Mrfixit (Paul) may be able to tell you how long since they left Boghead

    • Johnb 8 years ago

2000 Dumbarton moved to new stadium

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

It doesn’t seem like 16 years ago. Boghead was a dump but I grew to like it after Clydebank shared for a few years in the 90s.
Their ground is now the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium which says it all.
Hate grounds with one stand but having said that it’s probably the most scenically situated in the country, sitting below a castle and looking down the Firth of Clyde.

  19. mal c 8 years ago

Sorry Paul I didn’t see your post about Boghead

    Eveni g gents,

Just one that takes my fancy tonight:

    STJARNAN / KFG U19 VS. VÍKINGUR U19 (20.00 KO):

    One word here. Goals.

Stjarnan/KFG’s match goal count is as follows: 4-9-1-4-1 and doesn’t offer up a potential recipe for a goals-fest but check out Vikingur’s…5-8-5-5-6-4.

    The previous H2H saw 5 goals (3-2) and I can’t see this panning out as a 0-0.

GOAL LINE 4…1.850 looks OK to me ?

    Good luck.

Finally decided on this for Brazil tonight

    Corinthians btts
    Cruzeiro over 1.5tgs

    Double returns 3/1

  34. HullShaker 8 years ago

Absolute bobbins with the Stjarnan Youth game…stats were crackers: 180 odd attacks, 120 odd dangerous attacks, 20 odd shots, 15 on target = 2 goals – and one of them was in the 90th minute ?

  35. HullShaker 8 years ago

Wasn’t going to bother but the more I look at the Corinthian’s game, the more I fancy it…

CORINTHIANS VS. SPORT RECIFE (23.30 KO):

Corinthian goals and corners should be on the agenda tonight so I’m going for two bets – both goal + corner combos with the 1st being a safer option and the 2nd being a more speculative choice!

Corinthians have the historical advantage here to match the current form/standings – they have scored 2-0-4-3-4-3 team goals in the last 6 H2Hs and 4-3-3 team goals in their last 3 HOME H2Hs.

Neither team are in great current form but Corinthian’s ought to make home advantage count after their July purple patch gave way to a duff August.

    Two selections:

    CORINTHIANS OVER 1.5 TGS + OVER 9.5 MCS…1.6/1

    CORINTHIANS OVER 2.5 TGS + OVER 11.5 MCS…5.87/1

    Good luck ?

@maccathered not been but there’s bn celtic fans in the barca in end before and there’s been no problem, can’t find any pictures but can remember it in in the past. It’s not as if we’re gonna get anything from the game and tbh we’ll do well to come away wi a 2 gl defeat or to score

    alex_mufc83

Posted before US Open started, bet £25 on outright wi PP and get a free fiver bet for each win, i done £25 EW on Djokovic so playing it safe with Monfils at 4/1 so guarantee a return. Instead of £25 to win to get £50 I again played it safe with EW as only losing out on £6.25 as EW is 1/2 odds for losing in the final plus get a £18.75, can’t see him not winning now though

@liamw hopefully it pays off ?
