I SAID I needed one accumulator to get back in profit and I got it. Unders aren’t a favourite bet of mine but I managed to pick a fourfold paying just over 6-1.

Trebles and the fourfold were advised with five winning bets giving me a profit of 11.5 points. Romania v Greece, Rep Ireland v Georgia, Finland v Faroes and Nth Ireland v Hungary were the games and none threatened to go over.

I went double or quits on the Super Single with Cristiano Ronaldo to score first but he failed to hit the target in Portugal’s 1-0 defeat of Albania (another unders match).

And just a word for Scotland who gave it their best shot but just came up short against Germany in a thriller. It will be tough to qualify now but six points from their final two games could pip Ireland to third.

So a week into September and it’s as if nothing happened with the Super Single level and the accas 1pt up.

Tonight signals the end of six days if Euro 2016 and I’m pretty international sick and looking forward to the resumption of league football with Inverness v Hearts on Friday night.

I’ve posted a separate preview and tips on England v Switzerland and as I said yesterday my next Super Singles will be the two already advised on the Jambos.

Having been successful with last night’s goals bet I’m putting up a similarly priced treble – over 2.5 goals at Wembley and under 2.5 at Slovenia an Estonia side whose seven matches have totalled nine goals. Complete with unders at Belarus v Luxembourg – two strugglers who could cancel each other out.

Again we have short-priced favourites such as Spain, Russia, Belarus and Lithuania with the only games of real interest being Sweden v Austria and Slovakia v Ukraine.

Spain -1 at Macedonia and Russia -1 at Liechtenstein should come in and pays 5-2 at Skybet.

I’m interested in Montenegro who visit a Moldova side with just two points to their name from 21. They are 21-20 at Betfred and Ladbrokes.

Later this week I’ll be starting a debate on long odds v bankers so watch out for the post.

Aye Donny I heard that on Talksport this evening too. Something like 14 players were affected after eating dodgy spaghetti bolognese from the team hotel. I’m taking a chance on that information to make some dough. Good luck.

that was a night from the little i remember.
after i lost denmark, i bet on:
    portugal ht-ft x-2
    hungary ht-ft x-x

    hungary draw
    portugal win
    scotland btts+over2.5

i bet through sms as the owner of a betshop is my friend.
after 80 minutes i switch off tv and wifi from my nerves, i went to put junior to sleep and i was thinking only about ukraine game tomorrow.
i just saw that finally i won for 2 goals after 90 minutes. the point is that finally something turn for my site as i lost (as and many from here) bets thanks to goal after 90 min.
    i was down 140 now i am up 120.

  7. kriscy 3 years ago

the last week i pick a lot of draws on halftime as:
    portugal and hungary today
    boca juniors yesterday
    and i lost malta -azerbajdzan

thats 5-6 of around 2-1 each and even more
but betting on correct score on halftime as 0-0 its even better.
i personally believe that tomorrow ukraine will win with correct score 0-1 and i will be also on ht-ft x-2 and halftime 0-0.

good luck and if you follow stay on low because i will go on big :)

  8. kriscy 3 years ago

    mr F,
you put every saturday a 3-4 on draws, why you dont try on correct score 0-0 on halftime also? or just draw on halftime?
always i am betting also on 3-4 draws but currently i wait for not sunny weather.
the leagues i pick for draws are:
french1,2 , spain2, portugal1,2 , and of course premier league as you have very good possibility that minimum a game from weekend will be 0-0.

    Euro Qualifier – 7:45PM

Milivoje Novakovic has accounted for just under half of Slovenias goals in the qualification stages with 6. He has scored in their last three consecutive games and totaled 6 in his last 6. The reverse tie saw Estonia come away with a 1-0 win, but the Slovenians had the bulk of possession and attempts at goal before having a man sent off in the 79th minute, with Estonia scoring in the 86th minute and snatching a vital 3 points which now helps them sit in third place, 1 point above Slovenia. 4 of Novakovic’ 6 have been the 1st goal scored and you can get that @ 9/2 @ various firms.

Slovenia have played well in their last couple of games, at home against England, scoring the 1st goal, and very nearly snatched a point, only to be undone by Rooney 2 minutes later. Also scoring twice in Switzerland last week only to crumble and concede 3 goals in the last ten to come away with nothing.

This is probably their toughest game remaining with Lithuania at home next, and an away game in San Marino, so they can go two points clear of Estonia with a win. Estonia on the other hand have to go to England and then a home game against the Swiss, so a loss here could see their European hopes over with Slovenia likely to qualify for a playoff. A lot on the line for both but I fancy the Slovenians to pull through. You can back them to score twice @ 19/20 @ WillHill, but I’d much rather take the veteran on a smaller stake who has been clinical for his country this year. Estonia have only conceded 5 goals in these qualifiers, but 4 of those have come away from home.

    Milivoje Novakovic (Slovenia) Anytime @ 33/20 @ 10Bet – 1.44 points _______________________________________________________________

Might be worth having a look at the non league fare on offer tonight.

In the Ryman Premier you have Dulwich in 5th at home to mid table Leatherhead. The hosts are generously offered at 4/5 with Bet365. Leaders Grays are 5/4 away at 10th placed Canvey Island whilst perhaps the best bet on the card are Kingstonian at bottom club VCD Athletic. The visitors are only 13th but fresh from a win at previously unbeaten Harrow they must be good value at 10/11.

The Evo-Stik Northern Premier also has a full midweek fixture list. The two stand out bets are Buxton in 7th 11/10 to winter struggling Stamford and 5th placed Skelmersdale @ 5/4 to win at Mickleover Sports. To conclude, 2nd placed Darlington host bottom club Ramsbottom and are 8/11 H/T-F/T.

Russia to win to Nil @ 8/15
Home side have only scored twice in group G from 7 games conceding 14 both goals came aginst bottom side Moldova.
Russia beat Sweden to Nil last match to sit just a point behind the Swedes in race for 2nd and they have a strong defense that has conceded just 4 this campaign,Russia won 4-0 in reverse fixture against Lichtenstein.

    Under 2.5 @ 6/10

Austria sit 7 points ahead of Sweden and have been very strong defensively conceding just 2 from 7 played keeping clean sheets in 5/7 and 4/5 games have been on the unders winning those games 1-0 only exception being a 5-0 victory over Liechtenstein.
    Reverse fixture ended 1-1.

  43. Harry 3 years ago

No time for a proper write up so will keep it brief, but all pretty straight forward today it seems! 3 games I like that I’m concentrating on.

    Slovenia v Estonia

If you exclude teams in the bottom pot (San Marino, Luxembourg, Andorra etc), Estonia haven’t kept a clean sheet in last 29 competitive away games since a 0-0 in Croatia 2002. Slovenia scored in last 6 qualifiers, including 2 at home v England, and 2 away in Switzerland. Slovenia scored in all 4 home meetings with Estonia, 7 of the 8 total meetings. Prediction: Slovenia 2-0.

    Macedonia v Spain

Macedonia have conceded in all 7 games so far this campaign, averaging over 2 against per game. Their 3 home games have seen them concede 2 in each, to Luxembourg, Slovakia, & Belarus. Hardly 3 lethal sides. They can’t qualify and Spain still need the points, expected to make very few changes from team that beat slovakia 2-0. Spain won all 4 h2h meetings scoring 5, 3, 3, 2. Although Spain have kept 5 clean sheets in a row, they conceded in the home fixture to Macedonia and the last meeting before that, so I’d rather back goals than a handicap. Prediction: Spain 3-0.

    England v Switzerland

Switzerland used to be known for having a tough defence but their last 2 qualifiers have seen them concede to Lithuania and 2 at home to Slovenia. England’s last 7 competitive home games have seen them score 4, 3, 5, 2, 4, 4, 5. Shelvey and Sterling will both be keen to continue their hot form and it goes without saying the whole focus of the night will be on Rooney scoring. In the last 5 meetings, England haven’t lost, and have scored 2, 2, 3, 2, 3, with all but one going over 2.5 match goals. Prediction: England 3-1.

    Main bet

    Slovenia over 0.5 team goals
    Spain over 1.5 team goals
    England over 0.5 team goals

    Treble pays 19/20 coral

    Long shot

Spain to win & OVER 2.5 goals
England to win & OVER 2.5 goals
Slovenia to win & UNDER 2.5 goals

    Treble pays 15/1 bet365

Yesterday was a better day for me with 6 points of profit recorded on the day with both of my doubles coming home as winners.

Tonight’s card looks pretty tough so stakes will be lower.

Here are my previews for the best of the action tonight.

International – EURO qualification grp. G

    20:45 Liechtenstein vs Russia – Prediction – 0.2 – Under 2.5 goals @6/4

Russia expect 3 points here but so do the bookies, overwhelmingly at 1/10 on and I’m not interested in backing the visitors on the handicap either primarily due to the lack of fire power at Russian’s disposal.

In their previous 8 home qualifiers, the minnows Liechtenstein have suffered 2 spankings, an 8.1 reverse to Bosnia in World Cup qualifying and a 5.0 loss to Austria in this campaign but in the other 6 fixtures, they have only conceded 7, with all 6 of those fixtures going under 2.5 goals.

They claimed draws with Slovakia and Latvia in the previous campaign while they also held Moldova and Montenegro to draws in this group so they are not as easy to beat as the odds would suggest.

Russia don’t score many, only 10 in 7 so far, with 4 of those in the home fixture against today’s opponents but Liechtenstien of course are much poorer on the road, losing 11 of their previous 13 away but as I said, at home, they can be stubborn opponents.

The visitors should win but I have a feeling it’s going to be a low scoring win, perhaps 2.0 so I fancy the 6/4 on offer for under 2.5 goals.

It’s a big price but given the minnows record at home, it has a chance and looks a bit overpriced with only 2 of Liechtenstein’s previous 11 home qualifiers going over 2.5 goals.

20:45 Sweden vs Austria Prediction – 1.0 – Suggested Bets – Sweden to win @6/5 (Zlatan fitness permitting)

Perhaps the most intriguing fixture of the evening sees surprise group leaders Austria travel to a Swedish side looking to bounce back from a poor performance in Russia 3 days earlier.

Sweden’s chances would be greatly improved by a fit Zlatan but the star striker came off at half-time in Russia and looks short of the form that has made him one of the continent’s most lethal finishers for over a decade. Reports suggest he will be fit to start and if that is the case, I will be tempted to back the hosts to win @ 6/5 with 3 points definitely their target here and even if the big man isn’t fully fit, his presence alone could be enough to lift the hosts to a vital win.

The Swedes need 3 points to maintain their 1 point advantage over Russia who sit 3rd in the group and with upcoming fixtures to come in Liechtenstein and at home to Moldova, they will be confident of qualification should they get the full 3 points here.

Austria in contrast have little to worry about with 6 wins and 1 draw from 7 giving them a huge 7 point lead at the top. A point here is enough to secure their qualification but in reality, they shouldn’t have any problems qualifying now with upcoming fixtures in Montenegro and at home to Liechtenstein to come.

My feeling is that we will see another low scoring fixture here with Austria conceding only 2 goals in 7 previous fixtures in the group but Sweden have a very strong record at home, and they can edge their way to a narrow victory but much depends on the big man up front.

Sweden haven’t lost a home European championship qualifier in 12 years, going unbeaten in 14 with 11 wins coming in that period and they should have enough about them to edge a win, particularly if Ibrahimovic is fit to start.

If Zlatan does in fact start, I’m gonna take a chance on a home win, he really is that important but I expect this to be a really tight match where the under 2.5 goals market has a chance at 3/5 as well.

20:45 Moldova vs Montenegro – No bets

Neither side can qualify so that makes this a no bet for me, despite some suggestions that Montenegro are good value at 1/1 to win.

International – EURO qualification grp. C

20:45 Macedonia vs Spain Prediction – 0.2 = Suggested Bets – No bets

I was considering backing Spain -1 @8/15 and while it should come off, it looks a little short to me with Macedonia usually putting up a decent fight at home in qualifying fixtures.

Only 3 teams have won by more than 1 goal in 20 home qualifiers in Macedonia and while you might expect Spain to do it here, the odds are a little short.

The Spanish only won by 1 in Belarus this past June and I am yet to be convinced that they are back to their supreme best of years gone by so for me, this is another no bet game for me.

20:45 Slovakia vs Ukraine Prediction – 2.1 – Suggested Bets, Slovakia to win @9/5, Hamsik to score anytime @11/4, BTTS @11/10

Another of the better fixtures on offer tonight see’s Ukraine visit Bratislava with the two sides separated by just 3 points with Slovakia 2nd, level on 18 points with Spain.

Slovakia shocked their opponents in Kiev, winning 1.0 in the first fixture of the group and Ukraine really need a reversal in fortunes tonight if they are to qualify automatically from this section with the remaining fixtures looking to be more difficult for the visitors.

Ukraine still need to go to Macedonia and then face a final day fixture with Spain so the odds are that they need to win here to have any real chance of taking a top 2 place with Slovakia expected to win their 2 remaining fixtures, at home to Belarus and in Luxembourg.

I believe the Slovaks have enough about them to take a positive result from this fixture, despite their loss to Spain on Saturday with a strong home record to call upon today. The hosts have won each of their last 7 at home, are unbeaten in 10 and have lost just twice in any of their previous 15 fixtures and are a big price to win @9/5 while they don’t tend to be shy at home in front of goal with 13 scored in their last 7 home fixtures.

Ukraine should deploy a relatively attacking strategy, given that the 3rd place in the group is secure and that they know they probably need to win here if they are going to qualify without the need for a play-off.

Therefor, I’m considering BTTS at big odds of 11/10, even if we haven’t seen too many of these matches in recent days. Ukraine have scored in 8 of their last 10 on the road, failing only in Spain and France while the Slovaks have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 5 at home, all finishing in 2.1 wins for Slovakia and I feel we may see a similar score here.

I’m picking the Slovaks to claim the points again at a big 9/5 in what will undoubtedly be a tight game but I bellieve the home side can edge to the victory and I expect their captain and talisman Marek Hamsik to have a big influence on the outcome here.

The Napoli man is the Slovaks top scorer in qualifying with 3 goals in 7 and is a major influence on his team. His quality can prove the difference and he’s a big price of 11/4 to score anytime. For me, he’s as likely as anyone else to score today and he can be the difference in taking Slovakia through to the finals next summer.

While many might fancy this is a draw, Slovakia don’t tend to do draws with only 1 draw in their previous 18 and given the nature of the contest, I expect both sides to look for the 3 points. Hopefully, it will be the home side who get them at a big price of 9/5.

20:45 Belarus vs Luxembourg – No bets

International – EURO qualification grp. E

    20:45 England vs Switzerland – Prediction -2.1 – Suggested Bets = BTTS @ 1/1, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 13/8 , Rooney to score anytime @6/5

England are pretty strong at home and having already qualified, manager Roy Hodgson has targeted 10 wins from 10 and they should get their 9th here against a decent Swiss side who look almost certain to join the English in France 2016.

Hodgson’s side could be a decent contender next summer with confidence high as they look for an 8th succesive home win in qualifying fixtures going back 3 years.

Centre of attention will, as ever, be Wayne Rooney who stands level with Bobby Charlton on 49 goals having equaled the record in San Marino 3 days ago. Undoubtedly he will be desperate to set the record tonight with bookies pricing him @6/5 to get the goal he need to reach 50 and set the new landmark. I think he might just do it, despite an indifferent start to the season for the Man United striker. Rooney has scored in each of his last 5 home qualifiers and I fancy the record to go tonight @6/5 odds.

Had he been stuck on 48 for a while, it may have proved more difficult for Rooney but getting an easy goal in San Marino will have relieved some of his stress and he could just set the new record tonight in a game that I expect could have some goals.

These 2 sides met 4 years ago in the same competition and shared a 2.2 draw at Wembley but this is a much changed England team with only 2 of the starting 11 on that day still in the current squad.

England are a confident bunch right now and they have plenty of youth in pace in their new-look team and they should have enough in attack to get the 3 points but I fancy Switzerland to make a good game of it in a potential BTTS encounter.

The Swiss recorded a marvellous 3.2 victory over Slovenia at the weekend having trailed 2.0 with just 10 minutes to go and they will undoubtedly be confident of qualification now with a 5 point advantage on 3rd placed Estonia and 6 point gap to Slovenia but they still need 4 points to be sure of their place in the finals and won’t take anything for granted yet although a home fixture with San Marino guarantees at least a further 3 points. I expect them to qualify and they will do their best to get a good result tonight to make it certain.

This could be an open and attractive contest and I’m going for BTTS @1/1 with England likely to score and Switzerland scoring in 6 previous 7 away qualifiers, and in 21 of their last 24 fixtures stretching back 2 and a half years. They have good attacking players like Shakiri and Drnic and goals aren’t a problem of late with 16 scored in their previous 5 fixtures in the group.

England should have enough about them to win, but I fancy the BTTS @1/1 in a potentially decent contest at Wembley with BTTS and over 2.5 goals also a possibility @13/8.

20:45 Slovenia vs Estonia Prediction – 2.0 – Suggested Bets = Slovenia to win @4/7

Slovenia will have been gutted to lose 3.2 to Switzerland on Saturday and they need to bounce back tonight against Estonia if they are to have any chance of automatic qualification behind group winners England.

As it stands, these two sides are separated by just 1 point with the Estonian’s holding a surprise 1 point advantage but the remaining fixtures in the group would suggest the visitors need to win tonight if they are going to finish in the top 3 positions.

Estonia have to go to England and then face Switzerland at home while Slovenia have a home game with Lithuania and an away game in San Marino therefor it stands to reason that Estonia will most likely need at least 5 more points to finish third ahead of Slovenia who would expect 6 points from their final 2 fixtures after this one.

You would have to think they won’t be dreaming of a win in England so they know that 3 points are a necessity tonight if they are going to finish in the top 3 but I doubt they will get them with Slovenia pretty decent at home, winning 5 of their last 7.

The first meeting between the two sides saw a surprise win for Estonia but Slovenia dominated much of the game before being reduced to 10 men in the second half and ultimately conceding a late goal but I feel the Slovenians have more quality and should get the points here.

Estonia usually struggle on their travels and have lost 6 of their last 8 away qualifiers and were even held to a pretty humiliating 0.0 draw in San Marino although they did win in Slovenia 4 years ago but goals are usually a problem with only 2 scored in their last 9 away qualifiers and I expect that to continue today.

I expect a home win @4/7 with Slovenia more than likely to finish 3rd in this section.

20:45 Lithuania vs San Marino – no bets

    Suggested Bets

    Liechtenstein v Russia – Under 2.5 goals @6/4
    Sweden to beat Austria @6/5
    Slovakia to beat Ukraine @9/5
    Slovakia v Ukraine – BTTS @11/10
Marek Hamsik to score anytime @11/4
England vs Switzerland -BTTS @ 1/1
England vs Switzerland – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 13/8
Wayne Rooney to score anytime @6/5
    Slovenia to win @4/7

Also I wouldn’t mind seeing who starts in place of Slovenia’ top scorer Novakovic before I was to have a bet on that. Robert Beric who has just moved from Rapid Vienna to Saint Etienne was in fine form before his move. Estonia are being backed to get something out of this one and I imagine its due to Novakovic’ injury scoring just under half their qualifying goals. If Ats Purje starts for Estonia I think 13/2 @ 365 is a big price for him.

  81. ryan 3 years ago

    Hey Jordan

Well, you might be right but when you look around Europe right now, what teams do you think are better?

Germany sure, Spain too, but beyond that? Belgium have good players but are hardly unbeatable. Likewise France. Holland won’t make it while Italy are average. Portugal the same.

On form, Wales and Iceland would be the favourites! well not really but in my opinion, there is barely a great team in Europe right now, beyond Germany who still don’t utterly convince me.

I don’t think England are brilliant but they must have a chance of going to the later stages next year.

My tipping since the start of the season has been rubbish so I shall be stepping back from pitching in my thoughts for a few weeks until I get my mojo back.
This will possibly affect my pre-match summary for forthcoming Derby County games. A word of caution on that, we have 2 new midfielders, Butterfield who was our number 1 target who cost us 4 million and a pipe dream signing of a wba player, we closed that deal at 6 million. New man running the whole Derby County board now gave an immediate cash injection to bolster our biteless and very injured midfield.
Derby have not hit the ground running yet and on paper, we should of been taking more than the few points that we have gained so far. Time will tell. Maybe these 2 new signings will give us that edge/stability and linkup to our attacking line, I hope so, but then again, they may take time to bed in.
The manager needs time to find his best 11 and I hope the new owner gives him that opportunity. October and November are usually when Derby start to find form.

    Rangers v Livingston – Saturday

    Over 5.5 team goals – 6/1 Bet365

Its only a matter of time before Rangers smash 7,8 or 9 goals into a team and i believe this weekends game is the best opportunity to do that so far, Livingston are just off the back of conceding 4 goals at home to Morton and have a single point from 15 and Ibrox is the last place theyll want to be this weekend, of course the livi players have seen Rangers recent results and given the fact Livingston will be extremely low in confidence, i can see Rangers scoring early and absolutely bulldozing them.

Rangers have been scoring for fun and thats with a hatfull of chances being missed each game aswell, i expect in excess of 20 shots on goal and a fair amount of them hitting the back of the net.  Every time you see the players giving interviews are talking on social media, all they go on about is how much they are buzzing for the next game, their confidence is through the roof at the moment and a scoreline of 6-0 7-0 wouldnt suprise anyone.

I have been following the German Regionalliga matches for the past few weeks and it seems there is a massive gulf between the ‘big’ teams and the ‘small’ teams. Tonight see’s Alemannia Aachen take on Schalke II in the West league. Aachen currently sit second having played 6, won 5, drew 1 and lost 0 having scored 11 and conceded 2. Schalke II on the other hand have played 5, won 0, drew 3 and lost 2 having scored 6 and conceded 11. I have no idea of team news but given current form, I think i’ll have a cheeky punt on Aachen -1 at 5/4. Good luck if you follow.

    Afternoon Guys, England v Switzerland

Only one game for me today and it is the one at Wembley. We only need a point to win the group and I think we will get it. I think the likes of Sterling and Walcott will start and hopefully Kane up with Rooney. That spells goals and I’m on us to score O1.5g. We historically cover this line against the Swiss and we can do it again. It is 11/10 William Hill.

In the goal scorer market, there is only one pick for me and that is the skipper Wayne Rooney breaking Sir Bobby Charlton all time scoring record. He as scored 7 in his last 9 internationals will be on penalties. I am hoping history will be made tonight. He is 13/10 William Hill.

    ENGLAND O1.5g 11/10

Thought I would share my thoughts regarding my team again:

    Slovakia – Ukraine

This will be a huge game for us, if we get the 3 points tonight in Zilina (not Bratislava, as Ryan has written in his preview, since there is no functional stadium in the capital currently :D) we are qualified. We did very well back in Kyjev last time out to get the win. The stats regarding our home record speak for themselves, it has already been highlighted, so no need to get into that again. I will focus on team news once again, as these are absolutely vital when betting. Unlike most of the lads on here backing the Slovak hanidacaps and BTS I bashed into the Spanish asian handicap -1.75 pretty heavily and got a half win out of that. This was mainly due to the heavy absences to our squad, which I highlighted. To be honest, I expected Spain to give us a bigger bashing and I think given the team that was out, we did exceptionally well. Around the 60th minute coach Kozak substituted most of the key players out of the game, leaving in just 2 players who were actually in the side which beat Spain back in Zilina last year. He even publicly admitted that he did this in order to rest the players for today’s game. This just proves that the coach is trying to get his team completely focused on tonight. Skrtel (Liverpool), who is our captain and the heart of the defence (not Hamsik, as Ryan highlighted 😉 ) is back in the team for today. Kucka (AC Milan) and Stoch (Besiktas) are also back, so this will be a huge boost. Ukraine play a very slow paced game lead from the back line, they have never been capable of playing “pure attacking football”. So Ryan, I think you are completely off with your statement of Ukraine going into gunslinger mode for this game. Yes, they have managed to score quite a few goals in their recent home games against Belarus and Luxembourg, but I think these games are irrelevant, since the sides are way behind the qualities of the top 3 teams in the group. When playing against strong opposition, they always resort to their defence-lead tactics, 1-0 in Spain and 0-1 back home against Slovakia proves this. Ukraine have conceded a mere 3 (0.4 per game) goals throughout the campaign with Slovakia conceding 5 (0.7 per game). Those figures show some very solid defensive records. Back in Kiev last year, we scored from the only shot on goal and even though Ukraine peppered along they were unable to score through the defensive line. Playing away from home, they will have it even harder today. The Slovaks have nowhere to rush and a draw would be a decent result for them in this game. Given the nature of the Ukraine team, they are very unlikely to come out all guns flying and will be focused on not conceding first. As the game goes on, they are likely to turn the heat on slowly, but I doubt we will see something right from the start. All in all, given the importance of this game, the nature of both teams, their solid defensive record and Skrtel back for Slovakia we are likely to see a very cautious game.

There’s been talk about Luxembourg and how food poisoning could affect my unders bet.
This is the latest fromm BBC sport:

Luxembourg’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Belarus will go ahead on Tuesday despite 16 members of their squad contracting food poisoning.
The players complained of “terrible stomach aches” after eating a meal of spaghetti bolognaise on Sunday at the team’s hotel in Minsk.
Luxembourg had contacted European football’s governing body Uefa about possibly rescheduling the game.
But a team spokesperson says the players are feeling “much better”.

Gem, yes – it’s to attract people into shops between 7.15pm and kick-off.
Right, off to walk the dug and find my son wherever he is and feed him.
Then be back around 8pm to watch England and hopefully Rooney breaking the record.
Super Single shortlist up for Saturday – interesting to hear comments on my selections.

      • Gem 3 years ago

Cheers Mr F, I’ll pop into my local Ladbrokes and take the offer. Good luck everyone tonight.

Mike Slesser, it was the boy in Ladbrokes who told me it was shops only but he probably didn’t know.
I didn’t get back in to do it anyway and nothing continues to happen at Wembley anyway.

Can any one help. I had an over 2.5 team goal double with Australia and saudi arabia. The saudi arabia got abandoned in the 87min. Anyone know where I stand with this? Any chance it will be settled as a single? Even though there was only 30mins left of the saudi game? Thanks

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 3 years ago

j, was this the Saudi game they were leading 2-1? If it was you will be paid out on the double as over 2.5 goals was already in.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 3 years ago

Deano, I know it’s too late but Record reported today it would be second-string Aberdeen – after all they’re playing Celtic on Saturday and also quite a few have been on international duty.
Having looked at the starting line-up it was stronger than expected and they won 2-1. Never listen to a manager.

Note of interest, BBC are saying this about the Belarus v Lux game: “Luxembourg will play a European Championship qualifying game against Belarus as planned tonight despite 16 players suffering with food poisoning.

Luxembourg contacted Uefa about possibly rescheduling the game after 16 of the 20-man squad complained of severe stomach aches after a dinner of spaghetti bolognese in a Belarusian hotel on Sunday. Ouch.

However, team spokesman Marc Diederich said that all of the affected players are feeling “much better,” and will be able to play.

There’s playing. And there’s playing at full health…”

Don’t know if that affects the treble.

    • BetFlair 3 years ago

Apologies, just saw Mr F highlighted the food poisoning info. Makes me want to back Belarus to over 2.5 so have done.

  138. ryan 3 years ago

    Hi Rowen

Apologies for the error re Bratislava and Hamsik although not terribly relevant to my final picks.

    I didn’t say Ukraine would be in gunslinger mode, I said;

“Ukraine should deploy a relatively attacking strategy, given that the 3rd place in the group is secure and that they know they probably need to win here if they are going to qualify without the need for a play-off”

I stand by that. No they won’t come and chase the game, what team does that away from home outside of the very best? but they won’t be desperately hanging on for a point because they know realistically that they need to win here if they are going to qualify automatically.

Either way, I hope the Slovaks win :)

  144. PeteT 3 years ago

Well I didn’t get my 3/1 on Rooney due to an ‘issue’ in the store which meant they locked up and wouldn’t open the door. To add insult to injury Ladbrookes social media team intimated I was lying about the door being locked (although now they admit there was an ‘issue’). Hope Rooney scores for everyone here but sadly no 3/1 for me.

Thanks to everyone who highlighted it though.

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 3 years ago

PeteT, they don’t close my local till about 10pm. What shop was it?

      • PeteT 3 years ago

It’s one in Norwich. They’ve now admitted the store was ‘temporarily’ closed due to an incident. I don’t think it was anything serious (thankfully – for the staff) but it was a bit annoying as I knocked on the door and the staff just stared at me. No sign in the window to say they were temporarily shut either.

I must admit I feared the worse to start with that something had happened in store.

      • PeteT 3 years ago

Just to clarify – the shop usually shuts at 10pm here too.

Was more annoyed twitter peeps intimated I wasn’t telling the truth but they’ve now apologised so moving on :o)

At this rate I may have saved £10 anyway…

  148. Rowen 3 years ago

    Slovakia – Ukraine

    NAP: No goal before 37:00 @ 5/6 WON :)

exactly as predicted, low paced game, neither team pushing forward too much, 1 shot on target throughout the first half from outside the box, the game might gain more pace in the final 30 minutes since Ukraine will likely push forward more, but going to keep the side bet on and maybe cash out if it gets more dangerous…

We got the rolling challenge bet from £20 to £80 so going to bank £60 and start over with £20. Placed my bet already on over 1.5 goals in Lithuania doubled with another for Russia, but Lithuania just got a red card so don’t back it. Will post something again soon

  152. Harry 3 years ago

Lithuania should still be good enough to get another goal even with 10 men as San Marino only defend anyway. San Marino have lost every one of their 31 away euro qualifiers by 2 goals or more!!

  153. Harry 3 years ago

San Marino’s last away goal in a euro qualifier? Finland 1994 haha

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 3 years ago

jamesboyhail, we all know that. They always qualify easily but can’t take it on.
I thought the Joachim Low comments were interesting last week about how English clubs are strengthening German football by putting millions into Bundesliga clubs who then invest in the youth system.
England won’t win anything unless top clubs sign fewer foreigners and give homegrown players a chance.
As far as Scotland go – just qualifying would be great.

Wayne Rooney. What a man. People will still slate him just because he plays for United, but that is some accomplishment. Won’t see that topped in our time I don’t think. In other news Novakovic didn’t feature so the bet was a void, Beric who I mentioned getting Slovenias vital goal. Haven’t had a chance to run through the thread but I’m sure there were a few winners.

    Milivoje Novakovic (Slovenia) Anytime @ 33/20 @ 10bet – 1.44 points **VOID**

    • Sean Ireland 3 years ago

Problem is Rooney is paid mega money by United and hasnt scored for us in…10 games is it?Not just that he hasnt scored but hes looked poor in the majority of those games,If Sir Alex was still the manager and we had the able subs of his era you can be damn sure he’d have been on the bench before now.
Lets see how he does this weekend hopefully he will improve his club form.

Don’t suppose anybody knows what price Chris Smalling was to get booked? A mate of mine is harping on about him getting it @ 8/1. Seems a bit big.

  189. Sean Ireland 3 years ago

    From Earlier:

Russia to win to Nil @ 8/15
Home side have only scored twice in group G from 7 games conceding 14 both goals came aginst bottom side Moldova.
Russia beat Sweden to Nil last match to sit just a point behind the Swedes in race for 2nd and they have a strong defense that has conceded just 4 this campaign,Russia won 4-0 in reverse fixture against Lichtenstein…WIN!!

Reverse fixture ended 1-1…LOSE,my god i got that 1 wrong.. and some 😉

With my recent awful results and large deficit I didn’t post any for fear of them losing/bad luck!

I am still quite amazed even after years on this site how guys write bets off and get down after just 45mins, a game of football last 90 MINUTES.

Wayne Rooney does it, and I suspect he will reach 60. History was made tonight and to get it with a penalty, I hope the Germans took notice 😉
