THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on all SPFL games are McBookie.com – and Damian Walker is back with his popular first-scorer tips.
It’s a great service they provide and we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from the Scottish lower leagues.
Also leave your pick of first scorers at the end of this article for a chance to win a £10 free bet with McBookie.com. There were two winning entries last week and after a lucky draw the £10 free bet goes to Danny Gallagher who tipped Dunfermline’s Faissal El Bakhtaoui at 16-5. You can choose this weekend from the Premiership, Championship, League One and League Two. One correct entry will be picked at random to win the prize. Quote player, team and his odds – and a reason if you like.
Here is McBookie.com man Damian Walker’s Saturday selections.
He says: While there is not a full card in Scotland this weekend there are still enough games to find some goalscorer value.
I wouldn’t put anyone off backing Faissal El Bakhtaoui to score first for Dunfermline. The Moroccan has produced the goods six times this season and still looks value at 19-5 to make it seven.
However, I am looking further down the list and backing Joe Cardle at 9-1. The winger already has four goals this season and is too good for this level. Dunfermline are averaging four goals per game so it makes sense to try to find a player at a bigger price. Hopefully Cardle can provide the goods.
East Fife are the new favourites for the title in League Two at 3-1 and much of that is down to the form of Nathan Austin. Boss Gary Naysmith gave him high praise during the week when he compared him to Simon Murray who was sold to Dundee United and is expecting a big season from the striker.
They face a tricky-looking tie away to Annan but the hitman is worth a bet at 4-1 to score the first goal. He has netted in the past four games and there is no reason that run can’t continue.
