IT was a cracking day for Desmond, Greg and Jordan – while I had a mixed one.

My Bet of the Day for members was a winner as was my challenge bet. My 7-2 both to score treble won but I was one out on the other two trebles.

Sunday's all about the World Cup qualifers with nine European matches including England v Slovakia and Malta v Scotland which I've previewed. Northern Ireland head for Czech Republic after their Euro heroics and it looks an unders game.

I expect England to give Sam Allardyce a winning start and Scotland should win too but it might be by as many Gordon Strachan would like.

There are two English League One matches and also two IRN-BRU Cup clashes in Scotland and after a glut of goals on Saturday I fancy a few more when Hibs travel to Highland League Turriff.

Neil Lennon has said he'll play a strong team and he won't want to exit to a non-league side – but if you have doubts over Hibs -2 wait for line-ups. Hibs fans Johnb expects three first-choice players to start but believes his side will be good enough to score four or five.

I'm putting England up as a second Super Single and this is has been met mixed responses. Reasoning is on the World Cup Group F betting preview.

Finding value isn't easy with the qualifiers but I've decided I like Germany in Norway, Poland in Kazakhstan and Denmark at home to Armenia. I'm most confident about Germany, least confident about Denmark but I'm going with the treble.

Not around much tomorrow , thus posting tip early!
    12.45:
FC FREDERICIA v HOBRO over 2.5 mgs 3/4.
    HOBRO over 1.5 TGS 11/10.

SUMMARY: HOBRO after an early wobble to life in div 1 have it appears found form and goals! Their last 3 fixtures have seen them net 12 times! FREDERICIA are placed in and around these teams HOBRO have comfortably beaten, and have scored 5 times in opening 3 home fixtures, but also conceded in all 3! Last seasons promoted sides from div 1 all won away to FREDERICIA in the 2nd half of season , and goals were aplenty, as the home team conceded 4,2,4! Believe HOBRO will win this game, but sticking with goals. Gl all!

i’d picked this one too, first half seemingly devoid of any goal mouth action that i’ve seen, altho the stats say there has been a few shots, not that i noticed!! looks terminal unless theres a very improved second half
i left out over in northampton due to the early curse and went for this as first game as it started 45 mins later, poor choice!!

Jordan, thanks mate yes it’s important to show lost bets and not just the winning ones. It’s a bit wrong to kid yourself and others that you are in profit if in actual fact it’s the opposite. Had a very good August mainly thanks to a very good final weekend with all 5 selections winning meaning doubles and a treble. The aim is each month as you say is to finish in the green but will see how I get on

    1700 San Marino v Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan are a stingy, miserly side who don’t score many and don’t let in many. Only once in their history have they scored more than 3 goals in a game and that was 17 years ago. More recently back in May they were held to a goalless draw by the mighty Andorra in a friendly played on neutral territory. Meanwhile we all know what San Marino are about – graft and effort but ultimately perennial no hopers. Only once in a blue moon do these guys manage to find the net and against a side like Azerbaijan who are by default a tight, defensive minded side I would be surprised if they were to register this evening. I think our only worry is that the floodgates open and the Azeris go on to net a glut but it would surprise me if they won by more than 2 or 3.

Both Teams to Score & Total Goals Over/Under –

    No & Under 3.5 Goals 4/6 (was 8/11) NAP – Coral
    No & Under 2.5 Goals 11/10 NB – bet365

Also worth considering the following correct score bets – prices all with Unibet & 888sport

    Azerbaijan to win 2-0 19/4
    Azerbaijan to win 1-0 24/5
    Azerbaijan to win 3-0 6/1

If you’re feeling ultra ambitious a goalless draw can be backed at 11/1 with Skybet.

    Morning all

Found a bet for today that I like having followed England for many years it stood out to me that we usually have plenty of corners against sides where we have plenty of the ball.
With this being big Sams first game in charge I can see England really putting in a good performance and being on the front foot.

With this in mind the bet I like is England over 5.5 team corners @evens with Paddy Power.

To back this up a little the last time these two meet in the summer the corner count was 0-11 to England.

    Good luck if you follow.

    Japan Cup
Ok its a cup game so not massive stakes …

Urawa Red Diamonds v Vissel Kobe BTTS and Overs 10/11

Have played each other twice in the last 2 weeks in the cup and league. Both games played at Kobe ended 2-1 to either side. Urawa won the cup game 2-1 so Kobe will have to go for it in this second leg – hopefully opening up the game for more goals.

    • cockerspaniel 8 years ago

Yea that’s the one that I am wary of as well.

  23. Johnb 8 years ago

I was expecting only two players to start for Hibernian that started last weeks win against Morton but on closer study it could be three as Shinnie does need some game time even if he was outstanding last week,
with Lennon giving a chance to players that haven’t been starting and giving some of our many good young players a chance,
I will probably be well out with this but my view on the starting lineup is

Marciano, Modelski, Forster, Fontaine, Crane, Fyvie, Shinnie, Martin, Harris, Boyle, Graham

McGeouch would play if fit but I think he is still injured and Modelski all depends on the competition rules as he could play as a trialist if it’s still allowed,
the team above is capable of scoring 4 or 5

    • oozie 8 years ago

Did you predict the Hibs team and score that got pumped 0-3 of Morton last season ?
      Naw, didn’t think so. ?
We were shocking last week, and with Duffy weakening the team from last season, we’ll be relegation candidates this season for sure.
Hibs should win the league, but there is a good chance they may Hibs it. ?

  24. andrzejstarba 8 years ago

After polands great advance to the quarter finals and nearly semi finals in the euro 2016 the team is stronger than ever with key players been bought by some of the top clubs in europe.
    Glik went to monaco
    Krychowiak to psg
    Kapustka to leicester
    Milik to napoli

Anyway onto today. We should be comfortably beating Kazakhstan and most likely see a score of 2-0, 3-0 with the likes of milik and Lewandowski.

My best bets today would be poland -1 asian handicap 2.05
And poland over 1.5 goals at 1.80

I also think that there is also much value on both Lewandowski and milik to score and prices are decent but dont want to put all my eggs in one basket.

Good luck today and lets make some money from these internationals

Team goal double for me today:

    THE NEW SAINTS
    HIBS

TNS travel to Airbus and although they were stifled 1-2 against the Cardiff Uni boys midweek, they are playing a side who have conceded in all bar 1 of their League games so far and were beaten 2-0 by Llandudno who TNS humped 5-0!

As for Hibs, sure they’ll be plenty of changes but quality ought to overwhelm and with 4-2-1-2-2-4 team goals in their most recent 6, I’m hoping they can net 3 or more!

Be good to see if John B is confident of his boys today?

    OVER 2.5 TGS DOUBLE…2.3/1 with 365 but 2.53/1 with Coral ?

Best of luck with all bets

    • dom77 8 years ago

TNS are so unpredictable. They either spank a team or get a conservative win.

Hibs worry me as they have let me down countless times. Anything is possible with Hibs.
Would not be surprised to see John B say ‘ Hibs should be 5 or 6 up by now’ after a succesion of missed chances, woodwork, offsides etc.

    • Jordan 8 years ago

Just a little one for me today. Price is a bit shorter than ideal but if it wins, who cares what the price is! T.N.S have been covered by Hull, and I like Gillingham at home – they’re usually good for a goal no matter the result. Sheffield Utd brought in 3 new faces on deadline day, all of which are expected to start. Never look fondly on a side putting that many new faces into a team right off the bat.. so fingers crossed Gillingham can net at least one.

    SLOVAKIA v ENGLAND:

I don’t like Allerdyce. I don’t like his style and I don’t like the ‘brand’ of football he brings.

A very good mate used to work in a posh furniture shop in Bolton ( no really ?) where ‘Big Sam’ frequented – said he was an arrogant so and so and that’s the impression I’ve always had.

Anyone who thinks he is the answer to England’s perpetual shortcomings and woeful top-level crash-outs is in need of serious mental assessment.

England will dominate play and look ‘great’ for the first 10 minutes but ,as ever, will have little to show for it apart from a potential decent corner count.

I think there’s maybe a goal for England but fancy Slovakia with Weiss and Hamsik et al to get one at some point – either on the break or more likely as part of some Laurel & Hardyesque defensive howler or goalkeeping rick.

Low stakes but I’ll be having a pop at this combo:

    BTTS + OVER 5.5 ENGLAND CORNERS…a fraction under 3/1

    ?

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Allardyce isn’t the long term answer for sure but the FA don’t know which way to turn now.
They’ve tried everything – foreign boss, experienced boss and it hasn’t worked.
Going more direct will suit England’s players better but until the Premier League features more English players the national team won’t improve.

    • HullShaker 8 years ago

You’re spot on there Mr F – no coincidence that the national side’s decline ties in with the advent of the EPL and it’s surge of overseas players.

England’s issue is (partly because of the above and also the senior FA’s malaise) they have no collective identity – nothing in their manner or style where you can say “That’s England or that’s the English way” as you can with Spain, Germany or ironically Iceland.

In fact, the FA could do well to look at Iceland’s recent history and how the infastructure has developed ‘youth to international’ football – no surprise to many that Iceland – given their size and resources – are now hitting above their weight.

It made me laugh how people have slated Allardyce for the squad he has picked with comments such as it’s pretty much the same squad that Hodgson picked. Of course it is! England realistically have a pick of 30-35 players. Too much money is in the Premiership so naturally 99% of the younger players won’t get given their chance in the first team as the culture is to go out and spend £15m-£89m on some foreign chap.
Allardyce will get the best out the players we have but ultimately we will fall short time and time again.

    • Johnb 8 years ago

I just think it’s mind boggling that Fraser Forster and Marcus Rashford aren’t playing,
Also Jack Grealish and Jesse Lingard could be brought through but there are other young players that need their chance now like Matt Targett to name one

Until England realise that they might have to forfeit a tournament to bring players through its just going to be the same old

    • Mr Fixit 8 years ago

Forster’s injured I believe but Rashford should be in despite his age.

Afternoon gents – it’s been another fine weekend

Not much to look at today – keeping it fairly simple and focusing on the England and Scotland games

    Slovakia v England KO 5pm

A new era for Engkand and like most other new managers, he’ll be expected to continue the great run of winning his first match! England should win this and whilst I don’t think there will be a goal glut it’s not unreasonable to think we should see two

    Malta v Scotland KO 7.45pm

For me, I’d Scotland have any ambition to qualify this is a must win game, failure to win would see see questions asked of strachans tenure! I expect Scotland to get the job done albeit it will probably be a tight game

Slovakia v England over 1.5 goals
    Scotland to Win

    Double pays 11/10 (Ladbrokes) (NAP)

I have to agree DC Denmark have put out an exciting young side with Eriksen pulling the strings I see them scoring a few tonight. The weather is terrible over here . But they may have closed the roof to control the amount of water effecting the pitch.

Hopeful for some free following football. Couldn’t’t get to the game unfortunately. But will see it on the box. Come on my second Nation DANMARK!

  61. maxxxx 8 years ago

Evening Gents its your main man Max here. I see a few of your are on my tips and I hope you got on early as since I tipped us up the odds have crashed :-) The NAP is best 17/20 whilst the NB is 23/20.

    ** Repost from Friday **

As promised my NAP and NB is here for Sunday and my followers were a little surprised by it but they shouldn’t be as a passionate fan, I am taking England to win in Trnava. Everyone will remember we changed our team in the Euros which cost us top spot and this will be our most difficult game in the group. Scotland away some may say on here but we always beat Scotland (Mr F: except in 1967 of course and the Ray Clemence one through the legs and loads of others – Wembley in the two-legged play-off) and we always qualify so I can see why big Sam as named the team he as for Sunday’s game.

We haven’t played a friendly so we need to get at least a draw or even better 3pts on the board, as this is our most difficult assignment in this group. We can then let Sam ticker with the team and formation throughout the season. I personally am not adverse to Big Sam taking over, I think we will be better defensively, in the long term I would like to have see the likes of Drinkwater, Rashford, Alli starting but as I say I can see his logic. I think we do what we always do in these qualifiers WIN so backing us at odds against is a no brainer for me at 21/20 and I can see a 2-0 so I am taking a NB on us O1.5tg at 7/5 Hills.

England to win 21/20 NAP (20PTS)
    England O1.5g 7/5 NB (10PTS)

    Max Predicts 2-0 @ 8/1 BV

    Marshall
    Paterson Hanley Martin Robertson
    Bannan D.Fletcher
    Burke Snodgrass Ritchie
    C.Martin

Despite being pretty poor Scotland should win but it will more than likely be a narrow victory. Hopefully Oliver Burkes good start to the season continues and he gets a goal.

    • dom77 8 years ago

Do that and they will win 1 nil.
      Poland did me over too.
I think its a law of averages thing that means one team will always let you down.

  89. andrzejstarba 8 years ago

Well im actually embarrassed by poland. I was watching the match on polish tv and we just fell asleep for the first 15 mins of tge second half and let in 2 goals. Milik was guilty of hitting the bar, post and missing a golden chance. Its ridiculous

Over 1.5 poland goals comes in and -1 asian handicap was offering sweet cash out during half time and this was one of those days that I should of cashed out.

  90. garry 8 years ago

I’m sure Mr F All of us will think twice before having a bet on England again. Same old team that cant break defences that sit behind the ball. Hey guys, your main man Max here, delighted with another NAP landing and we got what we deserved tonight. I said this would be our toughest game in qualifying and we will be at the world cup in Russia after just 1 game. On to tonight I have little interest in the Malta – Scotland game. Seen people thinking Scotland may get 4 or 5 and I doubt there is enough goals in this team, yes they should win Malta are 20/1 but no way am I taking the Scots at 1/3 even against the dog n duck. Malta to score is 9/4 Coral and may be a fun bet if your watching it.

My main bet is our biggest rivals those pesky Germans and their star man Muller to score at evens looks a shout.

My Slovakia v England BTTS/corner combo came up short by a Slovak goal but the 3/1 was advised at low stakes so no harm done…the biggest relief was the fact I didn’t have to watch the game…same old same old.

Big SA card tonight but you’re going to be looking at mainly second tier games – nothing wrong with that as long as you pick the right ones!

Anyone wanting a bit of variety from all the domestic WC qualifiers could do worse than this:

GIMNASIA JUJUY VS. DOUGLAS HAIG (21.00 KO):

No time to write up a load of flim-flam but it’s well worth focusing upon Jujuy’s home record and in particular within H2H games – they have scored 2-3-3 team goals in their last home match-ups and it’s a tasty looking price from Coral for the same again tonight…

    JUJUY OVER 1.5 TGS…11/10 (365 are evens)

    For any brave souls…

    JUJUY OVER 2.5 TGS…18/5

    Best of luck ?
