GARETH BALE got me out of jail as he landed two Super Singles at once with his late winner in Cyprus.

I backed the Wales superstar at 7-2 to score first and 5-4 at any time so I've started September with three winners.

It was a different story with the accas as Croatia beat the Top Treble with a tame 0-0 draw in Azerbaijan and Holland downed the btts double by not scoring at home to Iceland.

In hindsight Iceland to score was the bet and Holland's best chance of reaching the final now looks to be through the play-offs with the islanders all set to qualify for their first tournament.

The Euro 2016 qualifiers continue tonight with games in Group D, F and I. I've put up a preview covering the matches in Scotland's Group D and will try to add to that throughout the day.

In Group F you have to fancy Northern Ireland to stay on track for the final with a win at the Faroes while Greece v Finland looks a classic for unders as Bulgaria v Norway was last night.

In Group I we have under-fire Scots ref Willie Collum in charge of Denmark v Albania. Collum was blasted for sending off Hearts's Callum Paterson at Hamilton at the weekend and that red's been rescinded. Anyone fancy a sending-off in Copenhagen?

Much of my focus is on Saturday's Daily Record column and my weekend selections but I'm putting some top tips now and may add to them. In my Euro 2016 preview I tip Scotland to win and believe it will be one goals – probably 1-0.

So the first Super Single is Scotland to win by one at 12-5 with bet365 and I'm taking Robbie Keane at 5-2 to score first for Ireland against Gibraltar.

Got to mention Greg Browning for picking another winning nap and everyone else who posted successful tips – and a word of consolation for selectabet whose combo correct score treble needed another Italy goal to stay alive.

Here are my updated Friday previews for 5 of the 8 Euro qualifiers and suggested bets.

I will post my final “best bets” with stake suggestions late afternoon tomorrow.

International – EURO qualification Group. F

20:45 Faroe Islands vs N.Ireland – Prediction 0.1- Suggested Bets – Under 2.5 goals @3/5, Laffery to score anytime @6/4

Northern Ireland have a wonderful chance to qualify for the finals in France next summer but they really need to try to get 3 points here against the not so awful Faroes who have surged up the FIFA rankings following their stunning double victory over a Greece side very much continuing the current tradition of Greek shame. What happened to 2004 eh boys?

The Northern Irish are enjoying a tremendous campaign sitting 2nd in the group with 13 points and while they are odds on favourites to win here @8/13, I don’t think it’s a bet I’ll be taking, considering their usually woeful away form in years gone by.

The visitors today had gone 16 away matches without a victory before they shocked Hungary in Budapest and followed that up with another away win, this time in Greece a month later but their overall away record in recent history is pretty awful with just 5 wins in 57 away games over 8 years and while they have obviously improved, I feel the 8/13 is too short considering their poor record historically.

Ok, it’s only the Faroes but they showed not just in their wins over Greece but also in narrow defeats to Romania and Hungary that they are not the same pushovers they once were and while I hope the Irish can get the result they need, it won’t be in my best bets today.

Kyle Laffery is in tremendous form for his nation with 5 goals in his last 5 caps, all in the qualifying campaign and if anyone scores for the visitors, it could well be the big man who is 6/4 to score anytime and that could be worth a punt with Lafferty proving to be a real handful as the lone striker.

The more realistic bet for me is the under 2.5 goals market which pays at 3/5. Only 2 of Northern Ireland’s last 14 away games have seen more than 2.5 goals and I expect a similar outcome here with the visitors perhaps just sneaking it but I don’t think it’s going to be easy for Michael O’Neill’s men in Torshavn.

    20:45 Hungary vs Romania – Prediction 1.1- Suggested Bets – Draw @21/10 Under 2.5 goals @1/2

Biggest game of the group on Friday sees top of the table Romania travel to Budapest to take on a Hungary side that sit just 2 points behind the Romanians in the chase for qualification.

This is a game that looks certain to be low scoring in a group that has for the most part been very tight and lacking in goal action. Hungary have won 3, drawn 2 and lost just once while only scoring 5 goals in the process but conceding only 1. The very fact that Northern Ireland are the groups top scorers tells you all you need to know about this section and the recent history of these 2 sides suggest goals will certainly be at a premium.

Hungary’s last 5 fixtures in the group produced just 4 goals with only 1 conceded, with 5 of their 6 fixtures in the group also going under 2.5 goals while Romania have seen only 8 goals scored in their 6 fixtures with all 6 games going under 2.5 goals.

With all that is on the line, I can really envisage a tight, close and low scoring fixture that neither side will want to lose, so I’ll take the 8/15 on under 2.5 goals while I also quite fancy the possibility of a draw so it’s either 0.0 or 1.1. Take your pick on that in what could be one of my favourite dour draws of the weekend.

20:45 Greece vs Finland – Prediction – Suggested Bets – No bets

Two teams with really little to play for so this is a definite no bet fixture for me.

International – EURO qualification Group I

20:45 Denmark vs Albania – Prediction 1.1- Suggested Bets – Albania not to lose @5/4, BTTS @6/5

Denmark take on another of the competitions surprise packages in Albania who travel to Copenhagen in fine spirits having won 3 of their opening 4 fixtures in the group.

Both sides are locked on 10 points but the visitors do have a game in hand and will fancy their chances of getting a positive result in this fixture in which the Danes are considered 4/6 odds on favourites with the bookies despite Albania being unbeaten so far.

Denmark have won 4 of their last 5 at home but only 2 of those were competitive games and going back a little longer they have just 3 wins from their previous 8 home qualifying matches and I’m not convinced that 4/6 represents a fair price for the Danes in a fixture that should be closely fought.

It really has been a great campaign so far for Albania though with 2 stunning away wins in both Portugal and Serbia really sending out shock-waves cross Europe while they also took a point at home to the Danes and recorded a further win in their home contest with Armenia. Not only that but a win and a draw over next summers hosts France in friendly fixtures show that this is an Albanian team not to be under-estimated. They have lost just 1 in 7, that a 1.0 reverse in a friendly in Italy and they have every chance of finishing in either the top 2 or in the play-off position.

The two bets to consider are BTTS and Albania not to lose. The Albanians have scored in 4 of their last 5 away games while they have only conceded twice in 8 games so I really fancy that they can take a point or better here @5/4 odds. BTTS is priced at a big 6/5 and is possible, considering the form of Albania but also the Danes strong home form which has seen them score at least one goal in 11 of their last 13 home fixtures.

i fancy this one could finish level and I’m gonna try Albania not to lose @5/4 and BTTS @6/5.

20:45 Serbia vs Armenia – Prediction – Suggested Bets – No bets

Both sides have just 2 points between them, and have no chance to qualify so for that reason, there shall not be any bets here.

International – EURO qualification Group D

    1800 CET – Georgia v Scotland – Predictions – 0.1 – Suggested Bets – Scotland to win @1/1

Quite honestly, I really can’t bet on this fixture for a number of reasons. Well I can, only I really shouldn’t. It’s just not good for the heart.

The bookies now seem to realise Scotland aren’t crap anymore and they have us priced at 1/1 favourites to win in Georgia. While one part of me feels it’s a good price because everyone else in the group has managed it so far, another part of me is absolutely terrified about this game, for obvious reasons and memories, and I doubt that having any potential bets riding on a Scotland win would aid my physical or mental condition should we fail to do the business.

Quite simply, this fixture and the rest of this campaign mean more to me as a Scotland fan than any other fixtures in recent history. WE HAVE TO QUALIFY. It’s just that simple and my belief is that if we are to qualify, 3 points will be essential here. Nothing can be guaranteed from our next 2 fixtures at home to Germany and Poland and if we fail to win here it will surely result in 1 of those glorious failures we have gotten so skilled at.

Still, I have been banging on about Scotland qualifying for over a year now having first tipped them up at 11/4 and I’m not going to change my tune now, especially as our odds are now 8/11 on for qualification so while I do expect us to win, is the 1/1 price a good one and should we take it?

Scotland are good on the road under Strachan and with only 2 defeats in 15 fixtures, this is the most optimistic the nation has been about the team in many a year and that confidence is certainly being translated in the players performances since the appointment of ever popular Strachan. They have their swagger once again and are playing with real optimism and belief now and why shouldn’t they?

Scotland have lost just 1 of their last 7 away games, that to Germany in the first game of this section but since then they are unbeaten having taken 4 points from Ireland and gained a precious draw in Poland as well as wins over Georgia and Gibraltar at home but it is the manner of the performances that has really raised expectations.

Georgia are no mugs, particularly en casa but it remains to be seen if they will attack Scotland or whether they will be content to cede position and look to hit the Scots on the counter attack. I expect the latter and it could prove enormously difficult for us to break this side down if that should be their intention.

The home fixture saw Scotland play some brilliant football but they only emerged with a narrow 1.0 win although in truth it should have been more comfortable than that. The Georgians aren’t a great team but they are undoubtedly to be respected although the Scots must be fully aware that all 3 of their rivals in the group have already won in Tblisi and a Scottish failure to do so here would be a serious setback that is not out of the question when you consider that the Georgians held France to a goal-less draw in qualifying 2 years ago, and also beat Croatia in qualifying 4 years ago. And of course in 2007…no, I won’t go there again.

So do I have the balls to back Scotland in my best bets? I’m confident we are going to win and I would imagine the 1/1 on offer will shorten before kick-off on Friday so they might find their way on to one of my doubles or trebles but I don’t know if I could take a late Georgian goal to break both bets and hearts. Let’s wait and see.

Much depends on the intent of the Georgians and I really do hope they come out and try to get at the Scots. This will allow our pacy wide men to counter effectively and if the match should play out in that form then I can see Scotland edging to a more comfortable victory than anyone would ever dream possible.

In terms of team selection, I do hope that Ikechi Anya will be in the starting line up but once again it depends how deep the Georgians plan on defending their own penalty box. It could be a conundrum for Strachan but you would expect the speedy winger to be in the first 11.

Brown, Morrison, Maloney and Steven Fletcher would seem certain to start but the final midfield berth and the full back areas are still up for grabs with Craig Forsyth surely set to be dropped after his poor display in Ireland. Steven Whittaker offers experience and attacking verve and should be in at left-back.

Indeed Strachan has plenty of decisions to make regarding his team. Does Charlie Mulgrew start? and if so, where? What about Darren Fletcher? fully fit and playing games at WBA, his experience could be vital in a fixture like this but I have a feeling though that wee Gordon will be more adventurous that that tough and you might find Steven Naismith or Matt Richie starting with Maloney playing at the tip of the midfield three.

In the end, Scotland should win but then again, how often have we said that? well actually, maybe not that often. Throughout this campaign I have felt utterly confident and almost expectant that Scotland would qualify but now with these crunch fixtures upon us, I have that traditional sense of Scottish doom. Is this going to be our breaking point? or will we rise like the lions we are and bring home the crucial 3 points?

Friday will tell us everything we need to know about this Scotland team. Win this one and surely our dreams will come true. Defeat? well it’s not even worth thinking about.

20:45 Germany vs Poland – Prediction 2.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @11/10, Poland not to lose @11/4

World champions Germany are as short as 1/4 to beat Poland here and while they should get the win that they need, it won’t be easy against an old rival that had the better of them 10 months ago in Warsaw.

The competitions most keenly contested group is really hotting up and this fixture could prove vital in determining who it will be that qualifies for next summers finals and anything but a win for Germany will leave their own place in the tournament under threat with Scotland and the Poles in good positions to claim 1 or indeed both of the automatic qualifying spots available.

Having dropped home points to Ireland and in Poland, the Germans cannot rest on their laurels and assume that qualification will just take care of itself. They HAVE to see this fixture as a must win if they are to be successful in their pursuit of the top 2 positions in the section. A draw here and a Scotland win in Georgia would have the Germans travelling to Glasgow on Monday night level with the Scots in joint 2nd position, knowing that another away trip to Ireland still awaits them. Make no mistakes, the Germans cannot afford to make any mistakes here, especially not to their old rivals Poland.

The Poles have looked very dangerous in this campaign and were particularly impressive in their fine 2.0 win over Germany last year although they did of course struggle with the brilliant Scots who claimed a well earned point in Poland having lead 2.1 with 20 minutes to play but we have come to expect that from the revitalised Scots!

Germany have been average so far and I’m certainly not backing a home win with a price as silly as 1/4. This is a good Poland team that have a world class striker in Lewandowski as well as the young and dangerous Ajax forward Millik, and they will be hugely up for this contest and I just don’t see them being remotely scared of the test to follow, especially considering the performances of both Scotland and Ireland in Germany. It is also worth remembering that the Poles are unbeaten in 3 meetings with Germany over the past 5 years.

The Polish are also unbeaten in their last 10 fixtures, last beaten by the brilliant Scots in a friendly, and will travel to Germany with high spirits and with the rivalry that exists, I expect a hot tempered and highly competitive fixture that could see BTTS, certainly based on recent stats. The Germans have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 11 fixtures and in 7 of their last 8 at home with goals leaked in Germany against the following teams; Armenia, Cameroon, Ireland, Australia, USA and of course two of the stronger nations in world football, Argentina and Scotland. Stop laughing.

While a home win is expected, I much prefer the BTTS odds of 11/10 with Poland scoring in 8 of their last 11 away qualifiers and Germany conceding a remarkable 21 goals in their last 15 home fixtures. They have only managed 1 clean sheet in 8 at home, and that to Gibraltar! They are still not resembling the team that won the World Cup last summer and for me, the 11/4 on Poland not to lose might be worth a sniff.

In this campaign, the Poles scored 2 in Ireland, 7 in their away game with Gibraltar and 4 in Georgia while they have scored in 6 of their last 8 away qualifiers overall and with Germany’s defence really not impressing, I fancy the visitors to strike.

You would assume Germany will score, having done so in 30 out of 33 home qualifiers this century so I’ll go with BTTS at odds against 11/10 as my best bet here.

20:45 Gibraltar vs Ireland – Prediction -0.4 – Suggested Bets – No bets

Given that I’m only previewing matches where either side has a realistic chance to qualify, I will be giving this one a miss. Sorry Ireland fans. Well, not really.

Easy away win and a bench mark for Scotland to match in 2 months time.

    Suggested Bets

    Faroes v N Ireland – Under 2.5 goals @3/5
Faroes v N Ireland – Lafferty to score anytime
Georgia v Scotland – Scotland to win @1/1
    Hungary v Romania – Under 2.5 goals @1/2

    Denmark v Albania – BTTS @6/5
    Germany v Poland – BTTS @11/10

    Friday – Euro Qualifier – 7:45PM

In Gibraltars home qualifiers against Poland and Germany, they were only 1-0 down at the half and went on to lose 7-0 in both games. Most of the Gibraltarian players are amateurs, so fitness is probably the likely reason for this. Mr F also added to this piece yesterday that the manager had been complaining of his players fitness due to their domestic season not starting yet. Interesting stat, 8 of Irelands last 9 competitive goals have come in the second half. Ireland were 3-0 up within 18 minutes at home with a Robbie Keane hat-trick, they then went on to score 4 goals in the second half and win 7-0. Spooky. 7-0 pays 21/2 @ BV.

Knowing Strachan I can see Fletcher starting, Naismith in behind, Maloney and Anya on the wings, brown n fletcher centre mid.
Defence is a lottery, he likes Hutton for some reason, Whittaker is all sugar or shite, mulgrew good with dead balls but slow as a week in jail, Martin/Hanley/Berra all average, I like Robertson but strachan probably sees him as too attacking. Think Gordon’s the best of the keepers but got total faith in Marshall if he plays.
If Naismith doesn’t play, Morrison plays and as much as I’d like to see griffiths start with the pace I can see him replacing Maloney/anya/fletcher last 30 minutes.

    SATURDAYS SUPER SINGLES:{repost from posts 1/2 september}
    Slovakia +2 @ Evens Betfair

Looked at satudays Euro’s and have to say im very tempted by Slovakias odds on the +2 handicap markets away to Spain who have won last 2 games 1-0 in the group against Belarus and Ukraine and lost 2-1 against Slovakia in an earlier group meeting.
The Slovaks have won last 9 games and 12/14 losing just once away to Russia in a friendly in may 2014 and have only conceded 3 times from 6 group games. The spanish have lost 6/13 games including friendlies and i just cant see them beating a very good Slovakia team by more than a single goal if at all.
Possible Saturday Super Single Mr F?? SLOVAKIA +2 @ EVENS Betfair.

    Walsall v Bury:
    Walsall Win/Over 1.5 Goals @ 15/8 Paddy Power.
This price looks huge and must be based on recent meetings stats rather than form,Walsall won 4/5 lg 2 games losing none and reaching over 1.5 in each win scoring 11 { lg best} conceding just 3, Bury won 0/5 but drawing 4 times and have conceded 11 times,2nd worst in the division.Walsall have failed to beat them in last 6 meetings but these were between Feb 2001 and April 2013 so shouldnt really mean much this Saturday, cant see any other reason for the huge odds unless Bury have bought Messi
    Exeter v Leyton Orient

    Leyton Orient Win/Over 1.5 @ 6/4 away to Exeter.
Leyton Orient look like they are a class this league and looking very strong canditates to regain an immediate promotion back to league 1,they have won 5/5 lg 2 games and reached the over 1.5 Tgs each time scoring a lg high 13 times, conceding just 3.
Exeter have won 2 lost 2 drawing 1 those wins coming against sides sitting bottom 4 and the draw at home to a york side sitting bottom 6.
Odds of 6/4 paddypower should be snapped up in this one.
    GOOD LUCK

Marco, if it were me. I’d take the cash out. Then place 50 double on Scotland and N. Ireland. You’re obviously reducing your overall winnings if both win but at least you have doubled your money and beat the bookies.

  25. Marco 9 years ago

I know you’re probably right, but I’m finding it hard to do it. Scotland game is on at 5PM while NI aren’t til the later time of 7.45PM.

So what are peoples thoughts of Scotland winning? If they do I think the cash out will rise to £120-130 and NI game will be easy to cover as NI are favourites.

    • AL 9 years ago

Only you can decide Marco, I’d let it ride and look to cover the Northern Ireland game if Scotland win.

For what it’s worth I’m waiting on Scotland & Northern Ireland for my 5/1 treble after Wales winning last night. Hopefully Scotland win then can look at covering, quietly confident Scotland will do the business though

Keane to score 2+ is 2.15 with 888. Will he start?

    • Sean Ireland 9 years ago

      MR.Orange,looks like he will…..

Robbie Keane is expected to return to the Republic of Ireland line-up for Friday’s must-win Euro 2016 qualifier against minnows Gibraltar in Faro.

Republic record goal-scorer Keane was a late substitute in the 1-1 draw against Scotland in June but is set to replace injured Daryl Murphy.

Keane, 35, has scored 12 goals in his last eight LA Galaxy games.

James McClean is expected to be included after coming on as a sub in the disappointing draw with the Scots.

If the West Brom winger does start, Derby’s Jeff Hendrick could lose out although the situation is complicated by a knee problem for Everton midfielder James McCarthy that could see him missing the contest.

Darren Randolph’s impressive early-season form for West Ham has led to speculation that he could start in goal although the likelihood is that Martin O’Neill will retain veteran Shay Given.

O’Neill trimmed back his match-day squad to 23 on Thursday with injured Paul McShane, Anthony Pilkington, Alex Pearce plus uncapped duo Eunan O’Kane and Adam Rooney the players to miss out.

Skipper Keane scored three goals in the Republic’s 7-0 hammering of Gibraltar in Dublin last October and Friday’s contest will offer him the opportunity to add to his haul of 65 international goals.

“Physically for the last game [against Scotland], I definitely wasn’t right,” said Keane.

“But I’ve had a good few months now since then. I’ve been fully fit, the team (LA Galaxy) has obviously been doing well and personally, it’s been going very, very well for me, so I certainly feel fit and raring to go.

  27. HullShaker 9 years ago

Just one for me this evening but i’ll be swerving the international games – good luck those that are having a go.

Over to Iceland and the one game in Deild 1…

    HK VS. FRAM

Two clubs languishing near the bottom and hit and miss recent form doesn’t offer any clear indications hence the bookies have them priced so close with Fram edging it at 6/4.

On first glance you would go for Fram as Kopavogs’ last 4 games look dismal…all losses and not a goal scored.

But, dig a little deeper and you will see those games were against all of the top sides who are pretty merciless against lower opposition.

This game should see the home side back on scoring track but too close to call a winner.

    Value bets to consider:

    Draw…9/4
    Over 3.5 goals…7/5
    Kopavogur over 1.5 tgs…21/20

Safest bet would be…BTTS at 4/9

Good luck all with bets on.

I think I’m on your boat AL. Can only blame myself if it goes tits up, but I’m with you in fancying the Scots to get a result. Faroes are 5/1 at the minute to win so it would leave a great cover. Best of luck mate!

  29. Sean Ireland 9 years ago

I replied Mr Orange but ive 2 posts now in moderation, suggestions are that he will start, didnt start against Scotland last game because he wasnt 100% fit.

Scot price drifted out to 11/10.. people better not be betting on georgia.. massive day for the scots looking forward to the game

  31. craigyboy 9 years ago

Seeing selectabet’s idea yesterday has given me the motivation to do something similar.

I’ll be using the same method but instead of doing a treble I’ll be doing them as doubles.

Basing it on a £1 bet it means there will be an outlay of £9 to cover all of the doubles.

    Results
    Ireland to win
    5-0
    6-0
    7-0

    England to win
    6-0
    7-0
    8-0

Based on the £1 doubles the worst price winner would be a return of £62.75 (5-0, 6-0) and the best priced would be a return of £160.00 (7-0, 8-0)

  32. craigyboy 9 years ago

I fancy the Scot’s do what the Welsh did last night. Grind out a 1-0 win. Really think Scotland are a great price tonight at 11/10.

Mrfixit, what are your thoughts on leyton Orient tomorrow? Any league 2 experts and shed some light on the game? Any reason why not to back the o’s?

Jason, they’re on my aways shortlist.

double is around 4/1 which in my eyes looks to be fantastic value

Looking ahead to tomorrow, is there any reason why I shouldn’t back Dunfermline at 11/10 away to Forfar? They’ve already beaten them 3-0 away from home in the cup this season. I don’t know lots about Scottish football compared to some on here so it’d be good to get some proper insight!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

nightowl, I won’t be tipping Dunfermline this weekend – I’d prefer both to score or overs.
They lost 2-1 at Peterhead a fortnight ago and this is just as tough.

  39. WasClueless 9 years ago

    Euro Qualifiers
    Germany v Poland BTTS 11/10
    Germany & > 2.5 MGS 10/11 (have Muller in a ATGS L15)
    Scotland Win 21/20
    Finland DC / Hungary < 3.5 MGS 13/10

If he starts Robbie Keane 2 goals or more 21/20 (in cracking form in the MLS) – Gibraltor don't even have home advantage as the game is in Faro, Portugal!!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

WasClueless, Gibraltar play all their home games in Faro so they do have home advantage.
However, we know this is about how many the Irish will score and how many Keane will get.

  40. RabTheHermit 9 years ago

I was going to leave Scotland alone today but going to take them with McBookie @ 21/20 using their £5 refund offer (Scottish customers only). Its a game on paper we should win but that is always the worry with us.

  41. Greg Browning 9 years ago

Night owl, Forfar are having a string start to the season and are tough to beat at home! The 3-0 defeat was partly down to Forfar being reduced to 10 men in the first half! Would have been a differnt outcome otherwise!

I still think they will win but not to the degree they’ve been winning games so far this season

  42. nightowl 9 years ago

Cheers Greg. Forfar look strong at home but the way Dunfermline have been turning teams over so far I thought the odds looked generous, although they’ve toned it down a bit in terms of goals recently. Hopefully the bubble hasn’t burst!

O2.5mgs double for me at lunchtime

Jablonec u21 – 12 noon Czech youth league
Zorka BDU women – 12 noon Belarus women’s league
    Just under evens at Bet365

Both games should go over 2.5 goals, might also try to get on the Czech U21 game for O1.5fhgls/O3.5mgs when it appears inplay

  46. RabTheHermit 9 years ago

    Slovenia u21 @ 2/5
    Serbia @ 2/5

My main bet today is a double. The u21 matches don’t have a lot of form but Lithuania are generally poor on the road and lost to Andorra away in their only match so far- Slovenia beat Andorra 4:0 in their only match. And for me Serbia are a better side than Armenia so should win at home-Armenia have lost their last 6 away games in all competitions.

    Good luck everyone.

  47. Gary May 9 years ago

Forfar have a few out against Dunfermline tomorrow. Best player Swankie definitely out as are their right back and regular midfielder. Dunfermline to score over 1.5tgs is my bet @ 5/6 with various firms

  48. Danny T 9 years ago

I am not on this yet as I am still thinking about it but 6/1 for an own goal in the Gibraltar game looks a reasonable price given the shots and crosses they are likely to endure not a tip just an opinion

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Danny think I’m going to have a point on an own goal in the England game tomorrow. Not sure if you saw my post the other day but there’s been one in our last two games against San Marino, scored by the same player. I don’t care what anyone says 13/10 for this is far too big.

  62. Gopher 9 years ago

Not sure Reilly mate, I tend to steer clear of picking winners in these leagues, but they are usually great for the goals.

Both look to be scoring goals this season, so wouldn’t rule out Jablonec putting a shift in second half. I would suggest if you put anything on you focus on the goals, but I’m keeping it away from it 2nd half.

  63. iain sutherland 9 years ago

well done with ablonec gopher, good start to the day, cheers mate, wish they were all that easy eh ?

  64. Gopher 9 years ago

Aye Iain if only mate, the czech leagues can be good if you get the right teams that come out attacking.

Just needing Zorka to stick another 2 in this half and I’ll be a happy man.

Like the look of PK35, might be tempted to have a punt on that.

Will probably do exactly the same wc with pk35. Being available inplay is sometimes a problem for the finnish women games.

  77. McLeish 9 years ago

does no one fancy Georgia to get at least a goal? they beat Scotland 2 nil few years back and I know its a different Scotland team now but still I see value here maybe BTTS.

also Scotland did only narrowly win in Glasgow last time out 1 nil.

Georgia have scored 3/5 home games, failed to score against Germany/Poland so no shame. I just think they will get on the score sheet at least once tonight as I expect Scotland will win.

Gibraltar did score against Scotland and I rate Georgia big time over the Gibraltar.

    BTTS – YES

    SCOTLAND TO WIN AND BTTS

Don’t know odds but both could be singles.

  81. Harry 9 years ago

It would have been easy to get carried away with things after yesterday’s good results, but having looked through all tonight’s games I’ve decided to focus on just one.

    Serbia v Armenia

I’ve seen many tips for a Serbia win (4/9) tonight and quite a few for Serbia to win to nil (13/10). While I can partly understand Serbia to win (Armenia have lost their last 6 away games), I strongly oppose the latter. I’ll throw up all the stats again and then post the bet at the end.

Starting with tonight’s hosts. At first glance this game does look like a straight forward win for Serbia, although I’m not convinced. They’ve not won any of their last 7 Euros qualifiers, a run which goes back to half way through the last failed campaign, and includes games against Slovenia, Albania, and Armenia. The Serbs don’t have the solid, no nonsense defence you’d expect, and are yet to keep a clean sheet in any of their 5 games in this campaign. In fact, they’ve conceded in their last 6 home games including visits by Jamaica, Azerbaijan, and Macedonia. Their last home clean sheet in a Euros qualifier? A 1-0 home win v Kazakhstan in 2007.

Armenia aren’t a great side. However, I don’t believe the difference in odds between the two sides fairly represents the difference in quality. Like Serbia, they’re yet to win a game in their 5 qualifiers so far. What first caught my eye when looking at them, is their goal scoring record. They’ve scored in 4 of the 5 games despite not yet winning, with the one failure being a 1-0 defeat away to Portugal. Considering Portugal were massive favourites to win the group and lost their 1st home qualifier at home to Albania, it’s no surprise they kept things tight for well over an hour until Ronaldo stepped up with 17 minutes remaining. Including that 1-0 loss, they’ve scored in 9 of their last 10 Euros qualifiers. That run includes trips to Russia, Slovakia, Denmark, and Ireland. Even more impressive for me is their away scoring record, having scored in 8 of their last 9 away qualifiers since their previous trip to Portugal back in 2007 (another 1-0 loss).

Another thing to consider when deciding what to back is the circumstance. Both sides are at the bottom of the group and cannot realistically qualify (both 100/1). With nothing much to play for, bookies obviously expect a few goals tonight with over 2.5 being 4/5 in most places. This is what convinced me. Looking through the Armenian results, they’ve not lost any of their last 11 competitive away games by more than 1 goal (3-1 loss in Russia 2011). There would have been at least 4 or 5 away trips in that run where they’d have known they can’t actually qualify but have still given a good account for themselves by not being pushovers. Betway for example, are 4/5 for over 2.5 goals, yet 9/10 for Armenia to score. If you expect goals in this game like I do, and Armenia give another hearty, spirited away performance, then everything points towards them scoring a goal. Given the stats you’ve just read you might prefer a handicap bet, in which case I’d recommend Armenia +1.25AH which pays 4/5 at 888sport. However I fancy goals in this game and it’s always my prefered market so I’m going for this.

    Armenia over 0.5 team goals

Is anybody else suspicious of romania u21 -1AH @ 2.3/1?

Not sure if you’re aware but a few days ago, Derby were brought out completely by local Derby businessman Mel Morris ( apparently he invested heavily in the mobile app gaming company that brought you candy crush saga ) – so blame him !!! Still, I guess having a through and through Derby man run the club rather than a bunch of suits can’t be such a bad thing, I guess that’s why they spent 4 million on Butterfield from Huddersfield and another 6 on a WBA midfielder on deadline day.
Pre-season, I’d of said you’re off your rocker, Derby don’t need to strengthen in midfield but with Hughes out – probably all season and Bryson for a few months, the manager asked and he got.

    maybe a set piece?

  113. Callum g 9 years ago

Scotland are playing like they want there usual summer off. It’s almost like they have realised they may qualify and are making sure they don’t here.

It’s a disgrace the way there playing. Scot brown said in a interview he’s glad Scotland got a point in June because players where thinking about there holidays??? That’s a disgrace pro players are thinking about holidays while playing for the euros.

Playing and defending for Georgia’s goal they are making sure they are getting there summer off

  114. Mr H 9 years ago

John Smith more too the point why is he playing Fletcher instead of Griffiths? Hutton and Naismith aren’t playing for their clubs either or is it because they are ex rangers men you decided too pick out mulgrew and leave those 2 out????

    • John smith 9 years ago

Mr H, climb down off yer high horse. Hutton and Fletcher are getting regular games and Naismith is usually at least on as sub for Everton in a much stronger league than Mulgrew.
Some celtic fans just can’t stand the slighest hint of ctiticism of their team. Get over it.

ryan, Scotland were rubbish tonight and that’s it.
I’ve seen some stupid comments such as “Scotland didn’t want to win” and they’ll be binned.
Of course they wanted it but weren’t good enough.

    • Crofty 9 years ago

I’m a big England fan Mr F and some of the comments are uncalled for.

I personally would love Scotland to have been in France next year, came up for the friendly last year and had a great time drinking with your fans!

  146. Dom77 9 years ago

Was clueless. Its probably a fixed match. Every other favourite winning comfortably in the u21s apart from the one we all backed.

  147. PeteT 9 years ago

Dom77 – why a fixed match? Just because we don’t get the result we want.

Really annoys me when matches dont go our way and the comment is “It must be a fixed match”. The ‘best’ teams don’t always win (or have Scotland, Chelsea, Holland – the list goes on, had fixed matches recently?)

  148. j 9 years ago

  151. thechief 9 years ago

Evening Guys, Just the one bet on tonight’s football as I will be mainly watching the rugby and it is the game between Gibraltar and the Republic of Ireland.

Gibraltar have conceded a massive 34 goals in 6 games so far including two 7-0 at home and while I am not ready to take Ireland to score O6.5 I am happy to take Robbie Keane to do the business.

Keane has 65 goals for his country and as been on fire in the MLS. Is anytime value is poor even trying to double him up with a rugby scorer. I fancy Ireland to get around 5 goals so Keane to score 2+ is 11/8 Bet365 and is my best bet on this game.

I will be also having a small punt on him to grab a hat-trick at 5/1 with the likes of Paddy Power and Ladbrokes, however the brace as I say is my main bet.

    KEANE TO SCORE 2+ 11/8

Good luck if your having a bet

  152. PumaDrifter 9 years ago

  154. John smith 9 years ago

Absolutely rotten performance. Not 1 shot on goal in 90 minutes! Some of the players need to take a long hard look at themselves and figure out how they managed to let their standards drop so low. Strachan tinkered with team selection and that backfired too.
We fight on but realistically its over.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

John smith, McBookie have pushed out Scotland from 4-6 to 2-1 to qualify for France 2016. Gordon Strachan’s men are now 4-1 for automatic qualification.

While all seems lost, and it sure feels that way right now, it remains a possibility that we can still finish 3rd and from looking at the other potential 3rd placed teams, we may even be seeded for the play-off draw, if they are taken from the current FIFA rankings.

Quite simply, it was a horrible performance and result but the weather certainly didn’t help. We started well enough but it was always going to be a game decided by just 1 goal. Sadly they got it and we were never going to break down a 5 man defence in that heat.

Feel sorry for the boys but they have an immediate chance of redemption on Monday night.

No doubt we have made it a lot more difficult now but while there is hope, there is being a Scotland fan and I won’t give up on them qualifying yet.

  218. BetFlair 9 years ago

Thanks Mr F. Took your treble but didn’t fancy the other two. Unfortunately, my own bets didn’t return but they were small so your treble returned a nice profit overall.

It’s beginning to look like Scotland will be the only team from these islands not at the Euro’s. Wel’ll get 3pts from Gibraltar, but after watching the Germany v Poland game, I can’t see us taking anything from that two teams, was a great game to watch.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Lossie Jim, we need a miracle for sure but on last night’s display we have no chance.

Nice treble mr F and Jordan and the chief business as usual well done guys hopefully after a few Sunday nights Nfl betting we can all retire, Jordan I know you took our boys the other night we lost our first pre season game in 2 years last night but not to worry there was barely a starter to be seen

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Cheers Lee and don’t worry mate I knew they wouldn’t have. In awe of waiting to see AP in action :) Going to be a close battle for that NFC North title. Packers 5th round QB Brett Hundley is looking a steal. Incredible stats last night although obviously against players down the depth chart.

  225. leecunliffe 9 years ago

3 decent priced singles for me 2moro
Gillingham 23/20, Cambridge 7/5 and Plymouth away 29/20

  226. HullShaker 9 years ago

Well done all Keane backers and commiserations all the Scots lads – a chance yet but a much slimmer one…was looking forward to you boys getting through…top fans and add the character and colour the Euros need.

My Icelandic tip was possibly the worst game of football ever…saving grace was that I’d included the draw at 9/4 amongst picks in the game but even that went under the train with an injury time penalty…a poor call from me on that one and sorry if any had a go.

Interest bet tonight – I don’t do these often but all 4 Brasilian Serie B games KO at 11.00 and BTTS could have a shout in each…a shade over 16/1 for the four-fold

  227. Thebettingman 9 years ago

Lot of lads backing Walsall against Bury tomorrow and I posted my thoughts earlier in the week on this one stating team news would be critical.

Looks like we will be without Leon Clarke again – hamstring still an issue, Nardiello still out (that’s our potential top attacking line-up ) Etuhu and O’Brian…and as we knew, on-loan keeper Christian Walton is back at Brighton due to injury which leaves us with Rob Lainton who is a fair keeper but I have my own doubts about.

Walsall will be without a couple on international duty but welcome a couple of new signings who could start.

In a nutshell, I’m not as confident as I was earlier in the week!

Hope this helps anyone’s thinking ahead of the game…my opinion: heart says draw at 5/2 and head says…well, read between the lines.
