IT was a bit of disappointing Saturday but you can't legislate for results such as Hull losing at home to Peterborough and Brighton going down to Birmingham.

The card looked good on paper but in reality it was proved once again that it's not that easy beating the bookies.

Anyway I'm back for another go and I like the look of my treble which starts with Eintracht Frankfurt to beat Freiburg at home. Promoted Frankfurt started with four successive wins then showed in midweek what they're made off as they battled back from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with champions Borussia Dortmund.

Freiburg have won just one of their last six and that 5-3 success against Hoffenheim was the only time they scored more than once.

Next look at one of the sides who always win for us and that's Atletico Madrid. They travel to struggling Espanyol who sit second bottom and still without a win this season.

Atletico have been scoring goals for fun all season and hit another four at Real Betis in midweek. Falcao hit another two and once again the Colombian will be the one to watch. He is 10-3 with Stan James and Betfred to score first.

Complete the treble with Lazio at home to Siena. The Romans have lost back-to-back games after a good start and will be keen to get back on track at home to a Siena side who aren't easy to beat.

My both teams to score line kicks off with the two English games. The midlands derby between Aston Villa and West Brom has seen both net in the last three meetings and there should be a repeat. Nottingham Forest v Derby is one of those games where you can't imagine both not scoring.

The last six meetings have produced 24 goals with both scoring and that says it all about a fixture that is always fiercely fought.

Add Wolfsburg v Mainz in the Bundesliga which has produced 22 strikes in four previous meetings so we should expect a few goals.

Another game that always produced goals is Udinese v Genoa. The last two have been 2-2 and 5-3 Genoa and Udinese's last seven have seen both score. However, the clincher here could be the return Italy legend Antonio di Natale and his presence can inspire a goal from the home men.

Finally, add VVV Venlo v PSV in Holland. Three of the last four have seen both score and VVV have netted in five of their last six while PSV returned to scoring form by flooring Feyenoord and should at least score against a side who have conceded five in their last three home matches.

Paul did you see the result came up for Carcelona again. Getting beat at ht then winning at 28/1. It happens at least once every 4 games. Ok that might be exaggerating but I do see it happening more than it does with other teams

  2. Dave 11 years ago

Hey chris I love doing them cheeky ht/ft bets.I did the irish league a few months back 5p doubles and 3 out of the 7 games finished winning team at half time lost the game.£250 off a little over £4 stake.I often do the Japanese league too.

  3. vikram 11 years ago

I recorded the last hour and a half of the ryder cup last night. Just finished watching it and was jumping around and shouting at telly!! Dont like poulter on the tour as he seems a bit of a dik but in ryder cup hes a god!! I had done treble in four balls and was waiting on poulter/mcilroy to win but had written it off when they were 2 down so when poulter holed that 15 footer on 18th i cuda kissed him!!

  9. Adrian Frew 11 years ago

    hi paul,

antonio di natalie plays with udinese does he not?

  10. Bryan 11 years ago

Di Natale isn’t in todays squad due to a disciplinary.

  11. Bryan 11 years ago

Also, Di Natale plas for Udinese, not Lazio.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Bryan, yeah par should have gone with Udinese bit about both teams to goal. I read he was due to return today but he didn’t play and might not have tipped it for btts if that had been clear.

    • Bryan 11 years ago

Yes, I read the coach was leaving him out due to a disciplinary. Not sure exactly what for or when he’ll be back.

Still a long way to go but Udinese obviously do not pose the same threat without Di Natale.

  15. Danny 11 years ago

dont know what alkmaar are playing at useless bams

  16. mitchell 11 years ago

genoa corner last min and the play it short and hold it in the corner ,,,,,,terrible tatics ,,,,,play to win ,,,,

  17. Mystic Clegg 11 years ago

I took your treble and added Villa-WBA both to score..
only a small wager (less than 6/1) but it makes for a bit of interest. Can’t be worse than yesterdays results anyway.

    • Mystic C 11 years ago

And it worked- I always thought Villa would equalise and couldn’t see Athletico in action (maybe just as well). £30 return on £2.50 stake.
Good tipping on the first three Mr F.

  18. John 11 years ago

Is it just me or does everyone get frustrated when it’s scoreless after half an hour?

  19. Robbie 11 years ago

I know I do mate ha

  20. Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Robbie, that’s an unfair comment. Any game that is 0-0 at half-time can see both teams score. At least wait till full-time until you criticise. And anyway how many people tipped 0-0 at Udinese. It never looked a 0-0. Did you tip it?

  21. Ian 11 years ago

Hi Paul maybe I will get a mention this week for my super single Hooper 9/2 1st goal against Motherwell?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ian, you might but you’re quite rightly backing the guy who should be scoring the first goal in the match.

  22. Danny 11 years ago

just know bryne will score for 11 out of 12 shame on you marseille

  23. Danny 11 years ago

french frogs at the death 45mins for a home team who have won last 4 at home and scoring 10 in the process

  24. Robbie 11 years ago

Sorry wasn’t really having a go mate. Just disapointed to lose. Just hope the villa game Brings some luck

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Robbie, you have to understand both teams to score bets are slightly random and can go either way. Look at Villa v WBA. It was 0-0 after the first half when keepers made great saves. It ended 1-1 though. Udinese v Genoa was picked by me for good reasons but every game starts 0-0 and every game can finish 0-0.

  25. craig alves 11 years ago

fancy west brom to beat villa today but gonna keep last tenner for safety bet later if results are goin ma way, napoli and lazio shld win now so needin franfurt to come gd in2nd half.
also paul or anyone else, do u know who’s scored the most points in ryder cup so far?? took bubba watson pre tourny

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Craig, there are a few on three including Bradley, Mickelson, Dufner and Poulter.

  26. Knottsy 11 years ago

Craig i was just coming in to say i fancy villa!! Ive took them in a single at a juicy 6/4 and also agbonlahor score and win @ 4/1. If Agbonlahor turns up he can be unplayable and he seems to score in bursts so after 2 against city midweek i think hes the one to watch!!

  27. Danny 11 years ago

11 out of 12 bad turn will rectify that monday with the games in finland and sweeden lets hope for goals in the midlands derby can see a red card in it last 3 games have produced 2

  28. Bruce Robertson 11 years ago

    Craig
Not 100% sue but think Poulter, Bradley & Mickelson have 3 points.
Bubba has 2 along with others…

  29. craig alves 11 years ago

cheers bruce, hope he gets to play today. villa west brom looks like a gl fest the now, cheers for the frankfurt tip, just waitin on ath madrid and inter tonight for £240

  30. John 11 years ago

Forest get me another losing bet but it was a derby match and the Derby keeper had a good game, might stick a few quid on Falcao to score but that would be just chasing my loses

  31. John 11 years ago

Just signed up for the news letter, when does that come out?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

John, we did one last season every weekend but not yet this season. However, if it resumes you’ll get it.

  32. craig alves 11 years ago

dont hink falcao playing tonight, not 100% sure tho

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Craig, Atletico less of a sure thing without him.

    • dicobhoy 11 years ago

      falcao not playing.

  33. Robbie 11 years ago

Yes i realise that. At the time I just thought it was poor that 3 of the selections were drab games at 0-0 at ht. And although villa came in, both forest and udinese were way off. Doesn’t bother me so much now though as I made my money back on the Anzi and cska game

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Robbie, nice one. I need Atletico Madrid to hold on for the treble.

  34. pedro 11 years ago

    Last time I back lyon

  35. craig alves 11 years ago

inter ticked, really wish falcao was fit now haha

  39. Kevin McKenna 11 years ago

Cheers for the treble fixit! 20 on it for a 115 return!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Guys, cheers for that. Happy with the treble and even happier if Europe win the Ryder Cup. What a finish.

  40. craig alves 11 years ago

£213.93 thanks tae paddypower txt bet promo :)
once again cheers for the guidance

  41. Bob H 11 years ago

Watching Athletico stumble through to get the treble up was almost as nervy as watching this golf!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Bob, no contest. This way tougher, like watching Andy Murray in the US Open.

  42. Kevin McKenna 11 years ago

    Come on Europe!

  43. craig alves 11 years ago

bit of a random bet but why no

    oster -1
    hammarby
    halmstad game btts
    landskrona game btts
pen to be awarded in getafe v mallorca

withdrew £210 and put 3.92 for £213 returns

  44. Luke 11 years ago

Gutted that I didn’t put that large bet on Europe like I mentioned last week. But at same time, glad the lads done it for Seve!! Nice treble Paul!!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Luke, you’d have been shitting yourself if you had put a large bet on. I tipped Europe but all long said it was too close to call. Mind you, would have loved to have backed them this morning at 25-1.

  45. Danny 11 years ago

  46. Robert 11 years ago

Hi Mr Fix I got my £520 from Ladbrokes on Friday when Paul Lawrie played in the Ryder cup and had £10 on Poulter,Garcia,Donald,Z.Johnson and Dufner to win their singles matches…£336…happy days..off to Ayr races tomorrow!!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Robert, hope your luck continues at Ayr. Lawrie was a good bet.

  47. Tony 11 years ago

Paul I thought I was alright to post comments.
Did so yesterday but they never stuck ??????

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Tony, they didn’t reach us yesterday. No one here stopped them going up. I’ve checked and nothing dropped.

  48. Luke 11 years ago

Tell me about it Paul. I had no money on, but was desperate for it to be a draw so that Europe would retain the cup, but would’ve meant by bet would’ve lost had I put it on. And I was a nervous wreck in that scenario, let alone having £400 on them to win. Not sure I’d have survived to collect the money. Great viewing tho. If only I stuck a score on that 25/1 24hours ago. Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Luke, I saw the 25-1 on Sunday morning and couldn’t even consider it. Europe’s comeback came from nowhere and for sure the Yanks choked at the end. I was happy to collect for my antepost bet but it could have been so much more if I’d kept the faith.

  49. Tony 11 years ago

Ok Paul not a prob. Cracking treble too. Thanks m8, been a great couple of weeks for tips.
    Well done mate.

  50. Luke 11 years ago

Hindsight would be an awesome thing to have though ey mate. Looking back now, it was all set up for Europe to win it in such a way for Seve. Especially with his fellow Spaniard Garcia being one of the main ones who turned game on its head with such crucial point. Been a cracking year for sport all round

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Luke, I thought backing them but when I looked at the tail I was pretty concerned as guys like Kaymer, McDowell, Molinari and Hanson hadn’t contributed much over first two days.

  51. Ellis 11 years ago

i had £30 on europe when it was 4.5/1 ,,, it was always on the cards the comeback

  52. Jonathan Grieve 11 years ago

I personally thought the European comeback was never on the cards, as much as I was delighted by it. The Americans had been phenomenal over the 1st 2 days and they traditionally play their best in the singles. Throw in home advantage and a partisan crowd and there was nothing 2 suggest Europe would come back. The sentimentality of suggesting Seve had something 2 do with it makes a great story but how often does stuff like that actually count for anything? And I’m with u Paul, even with a few hours 2 go I still fancied America purely because I couldn’t see Kaymer taking anything off Stricker or Furyk bottling it

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Jonathan, no logic pointed to that comeback no matter what anyone says. Having a bet on Europe before play started was speculative at best.
