Sep 27: Champions League Betting Preview

MrF_LeicesterCity

LEICESTER continue their journey into the unknown tonight with the King Power hosting Champions League football for the first time.

It’s been a difficult start to the season for the Foxes who have found them a target with a champions’ tag sitting on their shoulders.

Man United hammered them 4-1 at the weekend as Liverpool did at Anfield but at home Claudio Ranieri’s side are tough to beat.

They looked comfortable on the Champions League stage when winning 3-0 in Bruges and entertain a less than vintage Porto held 1-1 at home to Copenhagen on matchday one. I’m on Leicester at 13-10 with William Hill and bet365.

Jamie Vardy is first scorer favourite at 5-1 (McBookie) but what about Dragon Slayer Islam Slimani at  to score first. His nickame at Sporting came from hitting five goals in three games against Porto. He is 11-2 with bet365 to break the deadlock and 15-8 to score.

Porto have never won a game in England and are 5-2 at McBookie who make the draw 12-5.

However, they could net as Leicester are leaking goals unlike last season and both to score pays 10-11 at William Hill.

The other match in Leicester’s group should see a win for Copenhagen against Bruges. The Danes are in fine form and can be taken at 17-20 with McBookie.

Spurs need to improve on their opening show as they head to CSKA Moscow. A 2-1 defeat at home to Monaco was partially blamed on having to move the tie to Wembley but they head to Russia without the likes of Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Deli Alli.

Spurs are a best 29-20 at Ladbrokes but I’m on Spurs draw no bet at 8-11 with Coral. Take on-form Son Meung-Hin to add to his goals tally. He is 7-1 at McBookie to score first and 12-5 to net at any time.

Monaco were crushed 4-0 by Nice last midweek but edged out Angers on Saturday to return to winning ways. They entertain Bayer Leverkusen and while it’s not easy to pick a winner there should be goals.

Ten of the French side’s 12 matches have gone over 2.5 goals this season as have six of Bayer’s seven. Over 2.5 goals pays 30-29 at Marathonbet.

Biggest game of the night is Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid and it could be a cracker. Both sides are full of goals and hopefully we’ll see plenty. Over 3.5 goals at 5-4 with Coral is one of my tips in today’s Daily Record.

Real are underdogs at a best 19-10 with boylesports and I can see why. Dortmund have been in brilliant form and their pressing game could upset the Galacticos who drew 2-2 with Las Palmas on a long trip on Saturday.

Dortmund are a best 6-4 at Betfred and Ladbrokes and definitely have a chance to win. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a class act and I like his chances of scoring at 13-10 with betfair.

Juventus are extremely short for their trip to Dinamo Zagreb but should win easily. Back them -1 at 4-5 with Betfred.

Finally Sporting are also short at home to Legia Warsaw who lost their opener 6-0 at home to Dortmund. Sporting should beat the Poles by at least and that pays 4-6 at Paddy Power.

Legia had a lucky draw in the play-offs with Dundalk their opponent and qualified for the group stage. Sporting is pick of the day !

The City game at the weekend is more important than tonight in my opinion

They are equally important. I’m sure City will want to win them both especially with the run they are on. Wednesday’s game is likely to be easier.
