ONE win gave me 1pt profit on the day but it could have been so much better.
A 3pts Top Treble came up thanks to Liverpool -1, Man City to score 2+ and Motherwell not to lose but with the rest of the tips it was a tale of woe.
Plymouth were the only side not to win on a 13-1 homes fivefold, Everton the only side not to score on the English treble and Clyde the only side to beat me in Scotland.
Of my two Super Singles one was unlucky and the other rubbish. Birmingham were held at QPR but Livingston well beaten at East Fife.
If Scott Allot was star of the show last weekend then this time it was Greg Browning and Desmond who shone.
Both posted two goals winners and Desmond was one goal shy in the Brighton game of a 37-1 full house.
Sunday’s another busy one with West Ham v Southampton and Aberdeen v Rangers two of the highlights.
You’ve got to fancy Saints with the Hammers on a horror run after 4-2 defeats to Watford and West Brom. Even in the EFL Cup they needed a last-minute goal to beat Accrington.
They don’t seem to feel at home in their new home but I listened to skipper Mark Noble’s impassioned plea to fans yesterday and I wonder if that will have the desired effect. Also the club have moved hundreds of fans who have complained about seating and others who want to stand.
Could be a better atmosphere at the London Stadium today and for that reason I’m leaving the game alone.
The match at Pittodrie has been branded a “hate game” and is expected to be fiery. A red card is highly possible and I’m taking chance on one as a Super Single.
John Beaton is the man in charge and he’s handed out cards like confetti in his last five games. Beaton has booked 34 players and sent off two. Chris Guy has suggested a booking before 25 minutes at 5-6 and that’s likely.
A second Super Single is Mauro Icardi to score first for Inter v Bologna. The Argentine is on a hot streak and in his last four matches he has scored seven of the San Siro side’s eight goals.
Ligue One leaders Nice, justifying the cost of bringing in Mario Balotelli, could have been a third Super Single – and might still be if the first one comes in. Balotelli has netted four in two games but hasn’t yet featured away from home and will miss out again today. But Nice not to lose are on the Top Treble with Red Bull Leipzig not to lose and Villarreal to win.
RB Leipzig have started their first season in the Bundesliga in spectacular fashion are unbeaten. They hammered Hamburg 4-0 in their last away match and but will be tested at a Cologne side who are also without a defeat.
Complete the treble with Villarreal at home to an Osasuna side with injury problems and just two points.
