THE inaugural Champions League of Darts gets under way in Cardiff today with the world's top eight players battling it out for the £100k prize.
Unsurprisingly Michael van Gerwen is title favourite – bwin are currently best price on the Dutch dazzler at 9-10 – while Phil Taylor is a 5-1 chance at bet365 and Gary Anderson is 11-2 at Betstars.
The format sees two groups of four, with two players going through from each section, and Group A includes MVG and Taylor as well as Robert Thornton and Peter Wright.
Anderson is in Group B alongside his protege Michael Smith, with Adrian Lewis and James Wade completing the line-up.

I see value in siding with the home team and feel they can edge this game here.
Dunkerque have not impressive in their friendlies and they look a bit off the pace. Last season they lost 9 of their 17 road games, so not the strongest of teams when travelling.
Hyeres triumphed in the Pro B league last season and I expect them to start off well here especially at home where they were an impressive 14 and 3 last season.
