TopTips_Ladbrokes

TUESDAY is a busy night with the dreaded Capital One Cup fixtures dominating. I've posted a separate preview with team news but I wouldn't advise a WDW bet on any of the games until firm news or line-ups are revealed.

There is also be a separate preview of the five Scottish League Cup ties and the big game sees Rangers test themselves against Premiership opposition with a visit from St Johnstone.

Most Scottish teams will be put out full-strength sides or as close to it as possible and I expect Rangers to go for it as their fans and management want to prove they're as good as anyone in the Premiership.

With a huge crowd behind them and the confidence 11 wins in a row brings I'm putting them on the Top Treble with Inverness and Bayern Munich. ICT have got some injured players back and are looking up after their defeat of Hearts and should be too strong at Livingston.

Bayern have won 13 out of 13 at home to Wolfsburg and while their opponents are dangerous I expect a home win with players such as Thomas Muller returning after being rested at the weekend.

My both to score treble starts with Ross County at home to Falkirk in the League Cup. Both sides are in decent form and while I can see the Premiership side edging the Bairns are great cup battlers and should at least score. They beat Partick 1-0 away in the previous round and won 3-2 at St Mirren on their last road trip.

There is the potential for goals in many National League matches but the one I've picked out is Halifax v Gateshead. The last two meetings at Halifax were 2-2 and 3-3 and their last six have saw both scoring as have Gateshead's previous three.

Complete the treble with Valencia at Espanyol – a fixture that has gone over five times out of six with results such as 2-2 and 3-2. Valencia haven't been high scorers this season but Espanyol have been leaking goals – 14 in their last five games including six against Real Madrid in their previous home outing.

Yesterday my only be bet was beaten as I failed to listen to Derby fan Nathan Ufton and went with stats that suggested both to score at Derby-Burnley.

For today's Super Single I'm taking a big gamble on Morton at home to Motherwell. Morton are unbeaten in six and should be cheered on by a decent support in Greenock.

Admittedly they've been better away this season with three home draws – including two 0-0s – but I see nothing from Motherwell to provide me with optimism. They lost 1-0 at Hamilton at the weekend and simply don't score enough goals – just five in eight Premiership games.

Morton have some decent players and if boss Jim Duffy can get big games out of enough of them they'll give a Well side low on confidence plenty of problems. Motherwell drew 1-1 over 90 minutes in the last round at League Two East Fife and this should be a tougher test.

It's a big price – 4-1 Morton – so it won't be everyone's fancy and an alternative bet is Morton not to lose at 6-5.

I'm only risking 3pts today and that's not a lot on a big card – but it's midweek with plenty of cup games so I'm being wary.

Gotta fancy Rangers 17/20 with Paddypower. Maybe Rangers to score over 1.5 goals, currently 4/6.

Is Tuesday going to be night for the French Ligue 2 to go goal crazy?

    All 9 games over 1.5 goals £28/1 365
    Over 2.5 goals £3047/1 365

I also fancy the following treble:
    Reading over 1.5 goals
    Morton over 1.5 goals
    Vejgaard B v Sonderjyske – over 2.5 match goals

    Just short of 14/1

Hope it’s a good Tuesday for everyone

Peter, it’s going to happen one night, could be tomorrow :)

    Rangers -1 15/8
80 on and fast £150 profit only Celtic or Aberdeen would get anything at ibrox these days imho.

  5. aj 9 years ago

I’ve seen the Dutch cup mentioned a few times for goals tomorrow and rightly so, the Austrian cup could also see a few high score lines with some mismatches taking place. As always team news will be vital for cup games.

French league 2? Is this a joke? Any bet I’ve ever had on a game in that league has finished 0-0 haha! Don’t quite know if you guys are being serious or not!

I am fancying a small punt on Wolfsburg +1 AH tomorrow at 11/5 and draw no bet at 10/1 on bet 365. They effectively drew in the super cup, before Wolfsburg lost on penalties. Wolfsburg also gave Bayern a 4-1 pasting back in January. Lets just hope that Bayern don’t turn up tomorrow.

Bookies hugely favouring Bayern but I believe that Wolfsburg won’t just bend over and take it tomorrow. Am I missing something? The odds seem pretty generous.

  8. Dom77 9 years ago

Surely chelsea win is a dead cert. They always field a strong team in this cup and more often than not win it. They will want to keep up the momentum and will be wary of what happened against bradford last year.

  9. Mr H 9 years ago

Greg I think we might have another potential Norway ‘2/II’ goalfest tomorrow

    Norway 3rd Division Group 4 6pm

    Stroemsgodset 3 v Sandejford 2

Round 21 of fixtures in a league that averages 4.88gls per game so far and 89% of games have had 3+ goals. This league ranks 3rd of 365 worldwide competitions for goals per game average

Stroemsgodset 3 have scored 55 and conceded 39 in 20 games at an average of 4.7gls per match. Their last 5 games have seen 22gls. 65% of their games have been over 3.5gls

Sandejford 2 have scored 73 and conceded 42 in 20 games at an average of 5.75gls per match. Their last 5 games have seen 29gls. 68% of their games have been o3.5gls

Sandejford 2 won the reverse fixture 6-2

Be the same as today…1st half GL and match goals

    @Dom77

It probably is (although at 2/5 I suspect there is better value out there if you dig a bit deeper).

All depends on team news too

Joet its tongue in cheek…most lads on here have a punt at the overs in France in living hope that one day it lands ha ha. We all know it’s poor for goals but its Small stakes on a wild one keeps you sane in betting

Pete id be considering AH. -1 is essentially the same as a win.

Dont normally bet on Carling cup games but the odds for a Hammers win away to Leicester look huge @ 14/5 Skybet,Draw no bet @ 2/1 skybet and double chance @ 5/6 generally.
Both sides in decent form and true to say Leicester beat them last month but the Hammmers have come on leaps n bounds since that game and their victory away to Man city at the weekend was very impressive, they also stuffed Liverpool 3-0 away and won 2-0 away to Arsenal proving they look very decent on the road and no way should they be those huge odds. Both teams will likely rest players but the Hammers should have a far greater depth to their squad than Leicester with players like Andy Carroll and Nikica Jelavic coming in so im willing to back them on the draw no bet market @ 2/1 skybet, another thing to note is that Leicester despite their form have conceded in all 7 games this season {6 lg games}conceding 2 in each of last 2 lg games against Stoke and Villa and have also conceded twice at home against a very poor Sunderland whilst West Ham have scored at least 2 in 5/6 lg games against ‘bigger’ teams than Leicester,I also fancy them to score over 1.5 Tgs tomorrow @ 21/10 Skybet
{may get better elsewhere} GOOD LUCK!

  14. PeteT 9 years ago

Agreed Dom but you won’t get much better odds than the win mate. I’d suggest Chelsea is one for the acca not the single line but each to their own and good luck whatever you opt for :)

  15. Alves 9 years ago

Fulham 11/5 to beat Stoke at home depending on team news. Can see Mark Hughes resting players with a decent run of winnable games coming up wi Bournemouth Villa Watford Swansea and Newcastle in next 5 games plus they scraped through the last round at Luton on penalties after a 1-1 draw

  16. Jordan 9 years ago

I’ll be waiting on team news and possibly backing City Over 2.5 Team Goals or 1.5 and try and find something else. No words needed to describe Sunderland. Not sure a long cup run is what they’ll be wanting. Not that they’ll be looking forward to their weekend fixture at another club from Manchester ;)

    • Nick 9 years ago

Any idea what’s going on with Diomande, Jordan?
He hasn’t been in the team once yet, quite disappointed as I think he’d definitely grab a few goals in the championship!

    Reading v Everton Over 2.5 Goals (19/20)
Everton rarely have stalemates in cup competition. Their last 13 league cup games have seen at least 2 goals, with 8 going over 2.5. They did draw 0-0 in the league at the weekend. but a 3-3 draw against Barnsley earlier in the compeition bodes well for this. Reading had a low scoring run in the cup last season and in general had a pretty mediocre season. They’ve started this season well though and got to this stage courtesy of a 2-1 win against Portsmouth.

    Portadown v Glenavon Over 2.5 Goals (3/5), Over 3.5 Goals (6/4)
7 out of the 8 most recent H2H between the teams have seen at least 5 goals, with 10/10 going Over 2.5. Both teams have seen 5/7 games go Over 2.5 goals in the league and both are coming off high scoring games (2-2 and 3-3).

  18. Matty 9 years ago

Both teams to score in the league cup. Not picking any straight wins too hard to call !

What both teams to score is everyone on then ??

  19. Derek 9 years ago

Motherwell to get it together and beat Morton 10/11. It’s now or never for baraclough and every time it’s looked like he might get the bullet he gets a result , Motherwell have better players than Morton and feel we can go there and win. For me it might work in wells favour people expecting a shock

Sorry for the repost, but now that we have changed threads, I wanted to share again my previews for the European games I like tomorrow.

Here’s what I’ve come up with

    “Key Facts” and “Suggested Bets”

    Bundesliga
    19:00 Hertha Berlin vs FC Cologne – Prediction -1.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @5/6, Under 2.5 goals @7/10, Draw @5/2

    Key Facts

    * Koln have scored 9 goals in 5 games so far this season, scoring at least 1 in all 5

    * Koln have seen 4 out of 5 games so far this season produce BTTS

    * Koln have scored 5 goals and conceded 7 in just 2 away fixtures so far (6.2 loss and a 3.1 win)

    * Koln have seen only 3 out of 10 previous away fixtures produce over 2.5 goals

    * Hertha have lost just 1 in 8 home matches in the Bundesliga

    * Hertha have seen BTTS in 3 out of 5 matches so far and in both home fixtures

    * Hertha have seen only 4 out of 14 home Bundesliga fixtures since November produce more than 2.5 goals

    * Hertha have drawn 4 of their last 7 home league fixtures while Koln have drawn 3 of thelr last 7 on the road.

    * 3 of the 4 previous meetings have seen BTTS but not in the most recent fixture.

    * 2 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides have seen more than 2.5 goals and only 1 in 4 meetings in Berlin since 2009

    * Last season’s corresponding fixture in Berlin finished 0.0

    Final Verdict

I expect a closely fought contest here between two teams of similar ability levels. BTTS has a decent chance @5/6 although I don’t expect a lot of goals either. It would be unusual to back BTTS and under 2.5 goals and yet that’s the outcome I’m calling here. A draw could be the better selection @5/2

    19:00 Darmstadt vs Werder Bremen – Prediction -1.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @8/11

    Key Facts

    * New boys Darmstadt have lost only 1 of 5 fixtures since their promotion to the Bundesliga, a 3.0 loss to champions Bayern

    * 2 of their first 5 fixtures have seen BTTS

    * Darmstadt have kept 1 clean sheet in 5 fixtures so far

    * Werder have 7 points from 5 games with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats

    * 11 of Bremen’s last 12 away fixtures saw BTTS incluing each of the last 7. 8 of those 11 also went over 2.5 goals

    * Indeed 18 of their last 21 away fixtures have produced BTTS – That’s 85% going back more than 1 year

    * Werder have scored in 26 out of 31 away Bundesliga fixtures, 19 of their last 21 and in each of their most recent 12.

    * However Werder have just 1 clean sheet in 19 away Bundesliga fixtures

    * Werder have drawn 5 of their last 9 away fixtures

    * Darmstadt have draw 2 out of 3 home fixtures this season

    * This is the first meeting of these two sides since 1982. That finished in a 4.4 draw at Bremen.

    Final Verdict

Werder have a tremendous record of scoring on the road and of the 5 recent away draws, 4 finished in 1.1 draws against Schalke, Koln, Hertha and Hannover.

That’s the result I expect today and I can’t go against BTTS @8/11 considering Werder’s 85% hit rate on the road. The 8/11 price suggests a probabilty of 57% that we will see BTTS but those stats highlighted in my “key facts” would suggest it’s more likely than that and with Werder keeping just 1 clean sheet in 19 on the road, it has to have a good chance here.

    19:00 Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg – Prediction 2.1- Suggested Bets – BTTS @1/1, Over 2.5 goals @4/7 and BTTS and over 2.5 @ 11/8

    Key Facts

    * Bayern have won 19 of their last 22 home fixtures in the Bundesliga, scoring 62 goals in the process.

    * Bayern have won their last 6 Bundesligsa fixtures, scoring 15 in 5 wins in this campaign

    * Bayern have scored at least 2 goals in their last 6 matches in the Bundesliga.

    * Bayern have scored 2 or more in 15 of their last 20 home league fixtures

    * Bayern have won their last 17 home matches against Wolfsburg in all competitions.

    * Bayern have scored at least 2 goals in 14 of their last 15 home matches against Wolfsburg in all competitions.

    * Xabi Alonso and Thiago are set to return the starting XI in central midfield for Bayern while Mario Götze could drop to the bench as well, with Robert Lewandowski returning after being rested on Saturday

    * Wolfsburg have 11 points from 5 games so far and remain unbeaten

    * Wolfsburg have scored in 13 of their last 16 away Bundesliga fixtures

    * Wolfsburg have seen 10 of their last 14 away games finish with BTTS

    * 5 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 sides have produced BTTS and in each of the last 4

    * Bayern had won 9 in a row against Wolfsburg before suffering a shock 4.1 loss @Wolfsburg in February.

    * Wolfsburg beat Bayern on penalties in this summers Super Cup after a 1.1 draw

    Final Verdict

It’s hard to see past a Bayern win but I do expect BTTS to have a chance with Wolfsburg sure to take great confidence from their last two fixtures against Bayern and the recent history of the last 4 seeing BTTS.

Bayern’s home record against Wolfsburg suggests they should score 2 or more while Wolfsburg’s recent form suggests they can score so I’m recommending BTTS @1/1, Over 2.5 goals @4/7 and BTTS and over 2.5 as a combo at 11/8

19:00 Ingolstadt vs Hamburger SV – Prediction 1.0- Suggested Bets – Under 2.5 goals @4/6, Ingolstadt to win @23/20

    Key Facts

    * Ingolstadt have had a remarkable start to their first Bundesliga campaign, having picked up 10 points from 5 matches so far.

    * Ingolstadt have kept a clean sheet in their last 3 matches in the Bundesliga and in 4 out of 5 fixtures so far

    * Ingolstadt have won all 3 of their away fixtures 1.0 in the new season.

    * There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Ingolstadt’s last 3 games in the Bundesliga and in 4 out of 5 fixtures so far

    * Hamburg have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 10 of their last 11 away games in the Bundesliga.

    * Hamburg have lost 8 of their last 10 away league games, although they did win their most recent away fixture, 3.0 at struggling Moenchengladbach.

    * Hamburg were held to a 0.0 draw in their most recent fixture with E Frankfurt

    Final Verdict

The Bundesliga new-boys have made a wonderful start to life in the big league and I expect them to be defensively organised and difficult to break down as they look counter and this should be a low scoring fixture that the home side could just snatch.

Ingostadt have won all 3 of their away fixtures by 1 goal to 0 and a repeat would not surprise me here with the newboys sure to sit in and allow Hamburg control of possession while they look to hit on the break.

    Serie A
    19:45 Udinese vs AC Milan = Prediction -2.2 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @5/6

    * Udinese have lost 6 of their last 7 home league fixtures, including the last 5

    * Udinese have won only 3 of their last 17 Serie A Fixtures

    * Although 2 of those 3 wins were against Juventus on the opening day of this season, and Milan in last season’s corresponding fixture

    * Udinese have lost 3 in a row in the league

    * 7 of Udinese’s last 9 at home have seen BTTS and 13 out of 19 going back 1 year – 68% success rate

    * Milan have won only 2 of 21 away league fixtures going back 1 year.

    * Milan have lost 5 of their last 6 on the road in Serie A

    * Milan have begun the new season with 2 home wins and 2 away losses

    * 8 of their last 13 away games have seen BTTS and in 14 out of 21 going back 1 year – Success rate of 60-65%

    * There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 9 of AC Milan’s last 11 games in Serie A. 7 out of 11 also saw BTTS – 63%

    * 8 of the last 12 meetings have seen BTTS as well as 3 of the last 4 meetings in Udine – Success rate 66% – 75%

    * Udinese have beaten Milan in each of their last 3 home meetings.

    Final Verdict

Based on the stats, it would seem that BTTS has a 60 – 70% chance of occurring here and with the odds of 5/6 suggesting a probability of just 54%, I’m happy to take that price as Udinese tend to raise their game against bigger name opponents.

Milan have shown sign of improvements and could win here, especially considering that terrible home run of form for Udinese but Milan on the road have been very poor for a long time and I cant back them here at just 5/4. BTTS @5/6 is my selection here and I think it has a pretty good chance.

    Suggested Bets

    Hertha v Koln – Under 2.5 goals @7/10
Darmstadt vs Werder Bremen – BTTS @8/11
Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg – BTTS @1/1
Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg – Over 2.5 goals @4/7
Udinese vs AC Milan – BTTS @5/6
Bayern Munich vs Wolfsburg – BTTS and over 2.5 @ 11/8
    Hetha v Koln – Draw @5/2

It is a cup fixture, however the Australian league doesn’t begin until early October so key players such as Besart Berisha should feature. The last few head to heads between these sides have seen plenty of goals, 21 in the last five matches to be exact. Four of these five games have seen at least one first half goal whilst three of the five have seen at least two first half goals. Hopefully this trend continues.

I’m going for goals in the League Cup tonight with the English version of the competition pretty exciting last season with 50 goals scored in 16 third round ties with 12 of those games seeing more than 2.5 goals so I expect we could see plenty of exciting games this evening.

Here are my “Key Facts” and Suggested Bets

    19.45 Aston Villa v Birmingham – Prediction 1.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS @ 5/6, Birmingham or draw @5/6 , Birmingham to win @3/1

    Key Facts

    * Villa have lost 3 of their last 4 at home and 8 of last 12

    * Villa have also lost 6 of their last 8 and have only 1 win in 6 league fixtures

    * Villa have failed to win any of their last 3 home league cup ties

    * Villa are without midfielder Idrissa Gueye Jores Okore and Adama Traore are also expected to be sidelined but former Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede could start.

    * Birmingham have lost only 1 in 7 Championship fixtures this season

    * Birmingham are unbeaten in 5 away fixtures

    * Birmingham have lost just 1 of their last 10 in the Championship

    * Birmingham have scored in 12 of their last 15 away fixtures, scoring 21 in those 12 games

    * Birmingham have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 10 fixtures

    * Viilla have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 9 Home fixtures and in 4 of their last 5 overall

    * 5 of the last 8 meetings between these 2 sides have seen BTTS

    * Birmingham are unbeaten in 3 meetings with Villa

    Final Verdict

This local derby is sure to be one of the most fiercly contested fixtures of the evening with
an out of form Villa welcoming an in-form Birmingham to Villa Park.

I fancy a bit of an upset here with Birmingham having nothing to lose and Villa struggling for form and under big pressure to get a win here. I fancy the away side to win but the draw or win option @5/6 looks safer. I’m also predicting goals but I have more faith in the Birmingham selection.

This should be one contest where we can expect full strength teams and I also expect something of a battle with this the first meeting of these two rivals in 4 years.

    19:45 Fulham vs Stoke – Prediction -3.2 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @ 4/5, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 13/10, Fulham to win @11/5

    Key Facts

    * Fulham have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 9 home fixtures

    * Fulham have seen BTTS in 13 of their last 15 league fixtures and in each of their last 9

    * Fulham have scored in 17 of their last 18 home fixtures

    * Fulham have only 1 clean sheet in their last 15 home league fixtures

    * They have also seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 6 of their last 9 at home in the league and 7 in of their last 9 overall

    * Fulham have lost only 1 of their last 7 home fixtures

    * Stoke have failed to win any of their last 9 away competitive fixtures

    * Stoke have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 7 on the road in the PL

    * Stoke have scored in 10 of their last 13 away games in the PL

    * Stoke have seen BTTS in 3 of their last 4 league cup away fixtures going back 2 years and in 6 of their last 9 league cup ties since 2012

    * Fulham have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 9 home league cup fixtures including 3 of the last 4

    Final Verdict

Much of the outcome here depends on team-news but we should be good for goals based on some overwhelming goals stats for Fulham have started the season in similar vein.

Stoke are certainly not in form and I expect plenty of changes for the away team in a fixture that could go either way. I’m going for BTTS @4/5 and over 2.5 goals @13/10 while Fulham could cause another upset here, especially if Stoke are without some of their big hitters like Bojan, Arnautovic and Shakiri and are a big 11/5 to win in 90 minutes.

19:45 Leicester vs West Ham – Prediction -2.1 – Suggested Bets – BTTS @8/11, Leicester to win @ 21/20, Jo Dodoo to score anytime @21/10

    * Leicester are still unbeaten this season and in 11 fixtures going back to last season. Indeed they have lost just 1 of their last 15 competitive fixtures

    * Leicester have lost just 1 in 10 at home

    * Leicester have seen BTTS in each of their last 8 competitive fixtures and in 5 of their last 6 at home

    * Leicester have scored in their last 9 at home and in 12 out of 15 going back to Christmas

    * Leicester have seen BTTS in 15 of their last 17 ties in the league cup since 2008, and in 6 of their last 7 home ties since 2010

    * Changes are expected with the superbly named teenage striker Joe Dodoo coming into attack. Dodoo scored a hat-trick in his debut at Bury in the last round of this competition

    * West Ham have won each of their last 3 on the road at Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City

    * West Ham have scored in 5 of thier last 6 away games

    * There have been 17 goals scored in West Ham’s previous four third-round games in this competition.

    * This is West Ham’s 13th competitive fixture of the season. In contrast, it is Leicester’s 8th.

    * Bilic will likely rest a number of players following an exhausting start to the season

    Final Verdict

I’m confident in the goals bet here with BTTS @4/6 and I’ll back Leicester to win if West Ham make mutiple changes to their team as expected.

The Hammers have had some outstanding results in recent weeks but having played more matches than most, this could be an opportunity to rest some key players. Andy Caroll should get his first start in a while and I expect chances at both ends with both likely to hit the net in what should be an open contest.

Leicester can win, depending on team news @ 21/20 while Dodoo could be a good bet to score @21/10 having scored with all 3 of his shots at Bury and earning some rave reviews.

20.15 Rangers v St Johnstone – Prediction 3.1 – Suggested Bets – Rangers to win @4/5, Rangers to score 2 or more @4/5, Rangers to win and over 2.5 goals @7/4

    Key Facts

    * Rangers have won all 11 fixtures so far this season

    * They have scored 40 goals in the process

    * Rangers have won 5 in a row at home, scoring 15 and conceding only 1

    * Rangers have won 12 of their last 13 home League Cup ties

    * Rangers have seen BTTS in 5 out of 10 fixtures this season, conceding goals to Dumbarton, Alloa, Q.O.S, St Miren and Hibs

    * St Johnstone have lost all 5 away fixtures this season

    * St Johnstone have conceded 2 or more in all 4 PL away fixtures and have no clean sheets in 8

    * St Johnstone have scored in 10 of their last 12 away league fixtures

    * St Johnstone have seen BTTS in all 8 league fixtures this season with 6 also going over 2.5 goals

    * Rangers have won 7 of their last 8 meetings with St Johnstone, most recently in knocking out the same opponent in last season’s competition, a 1.0 win at Ibrox

    Final Verdict

Given both sides current form, I have no problem backing Rangers to win @4/5 odds, while I expect they can score 2 or more also @4/5. BTTS is possible with Rangers still looking a bit uncertain at the back and St Johnstone scoring in 10 of their last 12 at Premier League level.

Over 2.5 goals has to have a chance as well given St Johnstone’s form in the market while Rangers ought to be too strong going forward and I expect a home win and some goals to go with it.

    Suggested Bets

    Fulham vs Stoke – BTTS @ 4/5
Rangers v St Johnstone – Rangers to win @4/5
Rangers v St Johnstone – Rangers to score 2 or more @4/5
Leicester vs West Ham – BTTS @8/11
Leicester vs West Ham – Leicester to win @ 21/20
    Aston Villa v Birmingham -BTTS @ 5/6
Aston Villa v Birmingham – Birmingham or draw @5/6

    Long Shots

Aston Vill v Birmingham – Birmingham to win @3/1
Joseph Dodoo to score anytime @21/10
Rangers to win and over 2.5 goals @7/4
    Fulham v Stoke – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 13/10
    Fulham to win @11/5

I’ve added a couple more fixtures to my previews for today with 1 more tie from Scotland and 1 from Spain.

19:45 Dundee Utd vs Dunfermline – Prediction 1.2- Suggested Bets – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @10/11

    Key Facts

*Dundee Utd have lost 4 of their last 5 league fixtures

    * Dundee Utd have won only 1 of 8 fixtures this season and none of their last 6

    * Dundee Utd have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 fixtures and their last 4 at home

    * United have only 3 clean sheets in 14 competitive fixtures and only 3 in 20 including a dire pre-season

    * 5 of their last 6 have also gone over 2.5 goals

    * Dunfermline are in tremendous form, winning 9 out of 11 fixtures so far this season

    * The Pars have scored 41 goals during that period

    * 7 of those 11 fixtures have seen BTTS and 10 went over 2.5 goals

    * Dunferline have scored 23 goals in just 6 away fixtures this season

    Final Verdict

Here we have a badly out of from team from the top league taking on a free scoring on form Dunfermline from two leagues below and there is certainly the potential for goals and a potential upset here.

I’m going with the stats and trying BTTS and over 2.5 goals @10/11

20:00 – Atletico Madrid vs Getafe – Prediction -3.0 – Suggested Bets – Atletico -1 @5/6, Atletico to win to nil @4/6, Griezmann to score anytime @5/6

    Key Facts

    * Getafe have lost each of their last 7 La Liga away fixture and 12 in 14 since January

    * Getafe have lost by more than 1 goal in 6 of their last 7 La Liga defeats on the road

    * Atletico have won of their first 4 La Liga fixtures, losing only to Barcelona

    * Atletico kept clean sheets in all 3 wins and won by 2 or more in 2 of the win

    * Atletico have kept a clean sheet in their last 9 matches against Getafe in all competitions

    * Atletico have beaten Getafe in 6 successive fixtures in Madrid going back 5 years.

    * Atletico have won all 6 meetings with clean sheets and by at least 2 goals, scoring 19 goals in the process

    * Atletico have won 4 in a row against Getafe with clean sheets in all 4

    * 8 of Atletico’s last 10 home wins have produced clean sheets

    * 13 of Atletico’s last 14 home wins in La Liga have been by more than 1 goal

    Final Verdict

This has to be one of my stand out bets today with the highlighted stats overwhelmlingly suggesting a a home win, on the handicap and with a clean sheet. Getafe are pretty rank on the road and I cannot see them scoring or indeed getting close to Ateltico here who usually win at home and with comfort.

Atletico have only scored 2 goals in 2 home fixtures so far (one of those against Barcelona) but I expect them to deliver today with Antoine Griezmann a likely contendor to do the damage against a weak opponent who have lost by more than 1 goal in 6 of their last 7 La Liga defeats on the road.

I’m more than comfortable backing the hosts -1 @5/6 and to win to nil @4/6.

    Suggested Bets
Atletico Madrid vs Getafe – Atletico -1 @5/6
Atletico Madrid to win to nil @4/6

    Bayern over 1.5tg
    Dortmund over 1.5tg

    Odds 0.9/1

  42. HullShaker 9 years ago

Belgrano game a write-off and all a bit odd in the Pereira game…10/11 for over 4.5 at 1-2…scored as soon as posted to make it 2-2 at ht…and price for over 4.5 shoots to 11/10 – match stays 2-2 for 2nd half?
    Lost!

  43. Denavide 9 years ago

I’m deciding to go on this early game before playing Ryan’s tips…

Budejovice U19 vs Sparta Prague U19 KO 10:00

    Over 2.5 goals @ 1.35

Sparta Prague U19 has seen 31 goals in 7 games averaging 4.4 goals per match while their opponent have seen 25 goals in 9 games averaging 2.8 goals per match. The general average of these two teams games is 3.5 goals per match and this made me go for over 2.5 goals.

I’m increasing my bankroll by 6% daily and the low odd is making me stake about 20 percent of my balance on it. Wishing myself good luck on these…and wishing you all the best of luck on your selections today.

  44. Greg Browning 9 years ago

Ryan, if people are to follow your tips, what’s the best way for them to do it?

22 tips mate is a ridiculous number of tips to give – dont get me wrong your right ups are insightful and I’m sure the effort is appreciated but I’m certain people would prefer for you to cut the number of tips down and to 4 or 5 max – ones that you are really confidant about? perhaps put a NAP up and a next best! It should be about quality not quantity!

I often feel your labour of love for write ups causes you to to tip more games than is needed!

    Keep it simple mate

Also agree Ryan, enjoy the stats you are providing but sometimes too many tips, also you did a write up on Utd v Southampton then advised no tip for the game…… why bother writing it up? Best just left alone in my opinion. It’s not a criticism, just trying to give some constructive feedback.

    Hey Dynamo

Regarding the United game, I was very close to doing BTTS but left it out in the end. You are correct, it was an error to post the preview without a suggested bet but I had it set up as a BTTS pick before withdrawing near the end.

    And thank you Neil.

Once again, in any one day, I will post 2 doubles and 1 or 2 trebles as my main bets. These will usually be between 5 and 10 points in value. All of the remaining 70% of selections will be thrown into small stakes lines. I also put the strongest selections at the top of the lists.

For example, at the bottom of the previews it lists my “suggested bets” – these are ordered in strength of confidence.

But like I said, you will see the value and confidence I attach to these selections when I post my best bets in the late afternoon.

  52. Chomp 9 years ago

Round up of my weekend bets. Bit disappointing but small loss of 0.31pts overall at level stakes so could have been worse.

    Over 2.5 Match Goals
Hamburger SV v Eintracht Fran… Lost
    Torino v Sampdoria Lost
PEC Zwolle v ADO Den Haag Won
    Stuttgart v Schalke 04 Lost
    Celtic v Dundee Won
New York City v SJ Earthquakes Won
Dundee United v Inverness CT Lost
    Villarreal v Athletic Club Won
Wolverhampton v Brighton & Hov Lost

    Home Over 1.5 Team Goals
    Napoli v Lazio Won
    Belenenses v Moreirense Won
    Bastia v Nice Lost
    Vitesse v De Graafschap Won

Just looking at a few matches tonight should be some goals knocking around somewhere just got to find them :)

Morning guys a nice little stat I have found for the Aussie game this morning between Hume and Oakleigh

Hume city vs oakleigh cannons the last 10 H2H games between these two in all competitions are as follows

    0-2
    1-0
    1-1
    2-1
    0-2
    2-3
    2-4
    0-1
    0-1
    0-0
That is 70% of there last H2H have went U2.5 goals. Maybe playing devils advocate here.

    Good luck

  55. Steve 9 years ago

Tips for today based on stats only over a long period of matches hopefully one or two will make it happen again,
    Atletico Madrid -1
    PSG -1
Notts County V Crawley both scoring
I will be doing some over 2 1/2 goals both teams to score in combination as a five fold as well on
Bromley,Ross County, Dundee United, Halifax, Torquay matches,
    Good luck, just my selections

  56. ryan 9 years ago

Hollywood Rainham – agreed, You can never please all of the people all of the time and why anyone wants to complain about someone offering their work for free is beyond me.

There are dozens of posts on here that are non-sensical, or unjustified bets, there are plenty who struggle with grammar and spelling and they are of no interest to me. Do I ask them to up their game? no

but for some reason, the guy with 10 previews for all the big games, who spends 5 hours highlighting critical info and suggested bets, who subsequently posts all his best bets with totals included, including winners and losers, is crticised.

    You couldn’t make it up.

Anyways, I promised Mr F I would not argue with anyone on here so I will conclude by saying I hope tonight’s selections don’t leave me with a big delicious fried egg on my face but rather some cream delivered by a cat from Cheshire.

    Enjoy your day folks.

  57. Gopher 9 years ago

Mr H I managed to get on the Rosenborg 2 tip yesterday thanks for that. I see you have flagged up another one today at 6pm which I’l take a look at this morning.

You’ve mentioned a few times now that a league ranks 2 or 3 in 365 worldwide competitions for goals per game. Where do you find the list of leagues, I wouldn’t mind taking a look or can you even stick a post on with the top 10 leagues. Cheers.

  58. Wyorkie11 9 years ago

Ryan. Your posts are too long. What happened to condensing them?

  59. Fillgoose 9 years ago

There are to many egos on here, Ryan post however you like, I personally read them and along with other sources choose my teams, we’re all trying to beat the bookies, not each other….tonight, thinking rangers-1 and dunfermline double

  60. ryan 9 years ago

    Thanks Fillgoose

Rangers -1 and Dunfermline -Paying @ just under 13/1! That’s a very good price for something that could easily happen.

I’ve tipped up an away win for Dunfermline but I’m much more comfortable doing Rangers to win @4/5 and BTTS and over 2.5 @ Dundee Utd @10/11. That’s a much less generous 2.5/1 but looks good to me.

Good luck with your bets, I certainly hope you are right.

  61. Wyorkie11 9 years ago

I wrote around 2 lines. You wrote around 13. Get it?

  62. PeteT 9 years ago

    Ryan

I’ve stayed out of this debate until now but I have to say something after your comments to Greg.

Greg is, in a lot of ways, our resident expert and has probably made a lot of mistakes in the past to get his betting style to a small number of simple, yet effective bets.

It’s clear you enjoy what you do (and your research is excellent, in depth and comprehensive). The problem is that write up is really what I would call a short list and to place 20 bets (for example) is just too many for Joe Punter.

Greg’s advice of a NAP and a NB is a great idea. Save the detailed write ups for those bets (maybe a 3rd best on a really good day). You could, at the bottom, state the others that didn’t make it onto the top 2 / 3 without the detailed reasoning.

Seriously, 20 bets are unsustainable and whilst you can have great days, you can have rotten days too. Keeping it simple is the key to most successful punters approaches.

Take this in the spirit it’s meant. Your posts are sooooooo long (and no one doubts the passion that oozes out of them – they’re just unmanageable for the average person). People want to hear your advice (that’s why they are commenting to you), they just want to see where your greatest confidence lies rather than read an essay which previews so many matches.

Keep up the good work Ryan – but just try to refine it. I think you’ll get a better response and, better results with more focus on quality over quantity.

  63. Ricman 9 years ago

Haha Ryan very good .I agree with you do what your good at!

  64. PedroJord 9 years ago

Some amount of drivel on here this morning. I’ll just say I don’t back anyone’s tips on here, i do my own research and if someone’s gave good information about something I fancy or against it then I’ll adjust my bets accordingly. I look for Ryan’s posts for the in depth stats and write ups, I couldn’t care if you have an 80% strike rate or 5 profitable months in a row. if you’ve no reasoning behind your picks I’ll scroll past as it’s useless to me. I also like the amount of games researched because I look into all the games being played for good bets. The more games being previewed the better information I have. Laughable judging a guy for posting “too much information” haha

  65. Alves 9 years ago

Ryan Pauls already explained plenty times he gets emailed to put up draws, homes, aways, btts/results as folk look out for them in the paper. Has to deal with every punters wishes :)

  66. ryan 9 years ago

Yes I get it wyorkie, you have failed to justify with any real reasoning why you are backing what you are backing with a mere “2 lines” while I have provided between 10 and 12 “Key FACTS” to strengthen and justify each of my selections while also providing a “Final Verdict” which provides a very small description of my confidence in the selection.

I can see why yours would be a better approach. Certainly concise.

I tend to find though, that when people are laying down their hard earned cash, they like to have a bit of information and detail in order to go ahead and make some bets. It’s called “thought process” and generally helps you reach better conclusions and gives you more confidence in what you are doing.

Much as in the same way, you wouldn’t fork out 600 euros on a new iphone without knowing it it was worth it. Well, I suppose in reality, many do.

  67. Gopher 9 years ago

Mon guys lets get back to Football tips? All this arguing is just clogging up the thread.

Anyone using Bet365 app tried to find the Scottish League Cup games, they aren’t showing up under ‘Tuesday’s Matches’. I’ve had to go in through UK list and then scroll to bottom.

What about a double tonight of Dunfermilne DC & Ross County 2.4/1 Bet365. Got to fancy The Pars to have a go tonight ?

  68. ryan 9 years ago

    Well exactly Alves.

I like BTTS bets and over 2.5 goals but I also do draws and anytime goalscorers from time to time as they are popular and I’m succesful with them.

You can never please everyone or even half. I do this for my own page, I don’t do it for any financial gain (except that from which my bets generate) and I like to provide lots of different fixtures and my thoughts.

I know there will be 1 guy in here who is desperate for some info on the Rangers match, or another who wants details for Atletico Madrid. It’s good to give people variety.

Only yesterday, I had 2 guys here ask me for my predictions in games in Denmark and Portugal! 2 leagues I never bother with. I asked them to give me 30 minutes and I came back with 2 write ups and 2 selected bets that both won to return @5/1. Sadly I had hee-haw on it myself but my point is, everyone is betting on everything these days and I like to give variety and options.

I enjoy the work I do and it’s been profitable for me so far. Noone need read nae folllow anything I do but I do listen to feedback, hence the changing of prose to bullet points in my previews.

Have you noticed that’s how they tell stories in newspapers now? with bullet points! The Daily Mail is a classic example. The story has to be detailed in 8 handy bullet points because people in 2015 are too lazy to actually read sentences and paragraphs!

I always take on board the points but can I just say again, these are previews. I Post my final bets bets later in the day which are usually 2 doubles and a treble. Anything else is small stakes.

But back to the football please. I really don’t enjoy this debate I find myself in every day when I post my previews.

I’ll tell you all my NAP’S and NBS’S for today then with no explanations required.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Mr H, I said yesterday not to post the name – whatever you say they are a tipping site because they’re doing tips.
I accept their stats are useful but if you tried to promote us on their site you’d get the same answer.
Anyone who wants the site name can email me and I’ll give them it.

  76. Mr H 9 years ago

Gopher on your point about Dunfermline DC…I think it’s a risky bet buddy, for all that Dunfermline are going great guns in the league there’s a huge difference in class between League 1 and Premier league football and it’s a big ask too get a result away from home too a top tier team. Just my opinion but Morton DC v Motherwell would be a better option with them being at home and not as big a gulf in league class

  77. Gopher 9 years ago

No worries Mr H, don’t want to advertise any other sites. Can you even just copy and paste the top 10 leagues into a post

Re Dunfermilne yeah I hear you but Utd are a poor team at the moment, they are 2 leagues apart but don’t think Dunfermilne have anything to lose so will go for it tonight.

    Morning all
Had a good day yesterday after a bit of research.
Today I’ve came across a local derby match in the Irish premiership
    Glenavon v portadown
9 out of the last 10 h2hs have seen over 3.5 goals
9 out of the last 10 h2hs have seen btts
Bet 365 only have over 2.5mgs available at odds of 3/5 which doubled with a 1/3 will get you around 1/1

    Glenavon v portadown over 2.5 mgls 3/5

    Wrexham v Grimsby over 1.5 mgls 3/10

    Just over 1/1 double.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

dale, putting £1000 on a fivefold is crazy. Even if you pick good things there is every chance one team will let you down. If you really want to put £1000 on a bet do a single or do 10x£100 singles and build it up slowly.

    • dale 9 years ago

but ive seen it been done before week in week out. both teams to score seems so more likely than picking a winning team.

  83. Dom77 9 years ago

The problem i have as a relative newcomer is narrowing down my bets. On days like today there is so much out there and you feel like you dont want to miss out any teams that are likely to win eg psg. Bayern. Athletico. Austria cup. Denmark cup. Croatia cup. Mr h tip. Gregs tip. Rangers. Dunfirml

  84. Dom77 9 years ago

ine. Man city. Etc. The more bets you do the more likely some will fail. I usually end up breaking even as a result of betting on so many games. The real skill comes in deciding what to go for and in which combinations. Then you have to decide on goals or win draw handicaps etc.
This is the hard part for me.

Ryan Greg didn’t ridicule you at any point! That’s how it looks like you’ve taken it though….. And I also agree with him as many of the regulars seem to, but also you have people who agree with you. What I’m saying is its all down to personal opinion, and even though we all do it everyday arguing over opinions is a losing battle haha. Now let’s all get back to the BIG matter at hand which is ?!…. BEATING THE BOOKIES, NOT EACH OTHER!!

Watp, i’m not that certain either, so haven’t lumped on. However Dumbarton is a tight pitch not really suiting any side playing expansive football and Hibs did lose there recently so i wouldn’t read to much into that game. Everything points to a Rangers 2-0, 2-1 but anything could happen.

Greg uses very subtle passive aggressive comments that can only be picked up by a discernable eye.

    Example

“22 tips mate is a ridiculous number of tips to give”

“I often feel your labour of love for write ups causes you to to tip more games than is needed!

    Keep it simple mate”

“Glad my early bird thread on Rangers has lead you to take it for your NAP and NB too Ryan”

Using words like “ridiculous” – the use of the word “mate” when giving his critique and finally the ever so arrogant assumption that 2 of my 4 best picks came from reading his thread!

I see how I am the bad guy for reacting to this nonsense and I did vow to withdraw so I really have to try to do that now.

I hope the matter is now closed.

  104. Mr H 9 years ago

Watp I’m a Celtic fan buddy and in my opinion Rangers in front of a big crowd at Ibrox will be too strong for the Saints tonight. Rangers as a team just now would be in the top half of the Premier if they were in that league just now. They are a whole lot better than last year’s struggles. Warburton is doing a good job so far and has acquired astutely with his contacts in the south . Players like Wilson,Holt,Tavernier,Waghorn,Wallace and Law would get in most teams in the top divisions starting 11 out with Aberdeen and my own team Celtic. Rangers might still be in the Championship but their budget is still bigger than most top flight teams.

Rangers -1 AH 2.375 is my shout

Hey Tryer. I’m pretty sure you don’t speak for everyone here.

“Some amount of drivel on here this morning.

Not my words, but those of PedroJord posted earlier.

I like the look of cheltenham to beat forest green tonight, its a big risk but at 21/10 i think its worth a punt. When you compare the 2 sides results forest green have beaten mostly poor sides and have lost the last 2 games against better sides. Cheltenham on the other hand have beaten better sides so far including woking and wrexham both in the top 5.

Morning lads! The stand out bet for me today is the derby game between Aston villa vs Birmingham..odds for 5 or more bookings in the match 11/8 (skybet) ..the rivalry is historically ferocious and going by the last games between the two the possibility of a red card is likely ..

So I think the 50 or more booking points could land easily 11/8 (skybet) that’s my main bet of the day.. Good luck if u have a go…

FC Zurich matches are not on a par with city neighbours Grasshoppers when it comes to goalfests but I think their match with Lugano have a chance of going over 3.5 tonight (6/4 Paddy Power). A 2:0 win over St Gallen (who usually go under) is their only match from their 7 in the league not finish with at least 4 goals. Lugano games are a bit hit and miss with overs but they did have a 2:3 Thun and a 1:3 Basel at home this season. Small stakes.

and yet somehow I changed the entire presentation of my write up’s for the very purpose of making them more user friendly and readable? Is that someone who doesn’t take on criticism?

Greg got this started by labelling the quantity of my selections ridiculous and then asked if I chose my bets based on his column. He is the arrogant one in my opinion.

But yes, you got me on my use of the word discernable. I never claimed to be a great writer.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

ryan, I’m not getting too involved but I’ve said before I think your posts are too long and have advised that maybe you split them into separate comments.
Also I’ve said let your tips do the talking and try not to get into fights.
Personally, I believe you’re a decent tipster but for the internet the comments are too long because I’ve learned people want tips and a little bit of reasoning but most don’t have time to read lengthy posts.

  114. Rob 9 years ago

You’re really making a fool of yourself now Ryan, you said about on numerous occasions that you he no more to say and the matter is closed yet you’ve continud to bicker and whine like a little schoolgirl!

My initial post was nothing but a bit of constructive criticism – and a view shared by many others!

And as for me not liking “someone like you” ” “with your big write ups and knowledge” firstly, it’s has absolutely nothing to do with the Limelight, You won’t find a more modest tipster that me, hence why Im generally well received on here and secondly, it’s not about seeing anyone as a challange, in any case you’d need to up your gane and start posting consistant winners of a prolonged period of time on here! I’m sure you’ll agree you’ve had a fairly awful 7 or 8 days, yet yor telling us all how good you are and how many months of profit you’ve been in

Let your tips do the talking mate – not your keyboard

Not critising or speaking bad about anyone but Ryan mere reading your comments about just anyone that gives you any advice on here or tries to point out something to you that goes against your writer/work ethics all you do next is to pick a very funny fight with that person and still claim you are right and tell us about ur wealth of knowledge in sports betting… Take it easy bro it’s just a lil correction that you can even overlook if you wanna doesn’t call for all these sermons you are dishing out

Look Ryan I’m not here too argue but Greg didn’t have a go about the number of bets initially. He merely offered a bit of advice on how too deliver your tips and you got your back up and questioned why Mr F didn’t get stick for posting a large amounts of bets on Saturday. In fact Gregg actually said that your write ups were insightful and was sure they were appreciated and indeed they will be by a lot of people. But Ryan there are guys on here that post good solid singles and doubles daily and that’s what the majority are looking for. Short sharp tips that have good statistal info and easy too decipher. You don’t need too be having 5/6/7 or whatever winners a day too be appreciated buddy

I picked up on something you said the other day regarding betting on all of your tips and you said that you didn’t bet on all of them if my memory serves me right. That there gives me cause for concern too back any of your tips because if the tipster isn’t willing too back his selection with hard cash how does he expect someone else too do it? I think you have a misperception of what a tipster should be on here. In my opinion a tipster should only post tips for bets that he’s willing too back himself . I’ve never once posted a tip on here for others too follow without bettibg it myself.

That’s just an observation and opinion not a criticism so keep calm and breath

  120. TFB 9 years ago

For what it’s worth, football tipping isn’t trying to predict every game going.

Football tipping is posting info on 1 or 2 games that you are very very very confident in. You cannot be very very very confident on the outcome of 22 games.

Posting info on 22 games in a day is fine but it can’t be classed as tipping.

  121. ryan 9 years ago

lol ok Greg – since I started posting on here I am 3 points down.

I suppose you can judge someone over 1 week but given i’ve been here for 3 weeks and I’m only 3 points down over that period and someone as great as mr f is actually having a worse month, it is just ridiculous to label my last “7 or 8 days as awful” – when i generated 35 points in the 2 days previous to it!

but hey, don’t let facts get in the way of a good jibe. I’ve had 4 good days and 5 bad days in the month and I’m 3 points down which for me, is poor but for most, is hardly a crisis.

Once again, when do I say I am great? I don’t say i’m rotten but I’m hardly billy big balls for saying how I am in profit. And by the way, maybe you’re the popular, modest tipster. Good for you. You’re a Wenger, or a Ancellotti. Popular winners. Maybe I’m more Mourihno, or Fergie or Ally Mcleod. I’ll let you be the judge :)

Thanks for your words, but let’s let it be. I am off out now to enjoy a sunny day in Barcelona. Good luck with your bets tonight.

    *********** new betting strategy ***********

ok so for the past week i have been doing the following

placing 3 football bets all 3/1 odds

i put £100 quid on each but the stake isnt important

all i need is one of the 3 to win to be up £100, 2 win up £400 , 3 win up £900

its working very well for me and im up £2000 but im not stupid and i know there will be days where all 3 will fail but im confident on most occasions at least one will come in, i could do lower stakes but for me i dont get the same thrill

  125. bigmick 9 years ago

ryan no disrespect to you but i,ve read books quicker than some of your posts, try and cut it down a little please and leave greg to do what he does best.

  126. Mr H 9 years ago

Taribo if you get 2 up your profit would be £500 not £400 as suggested. £2,000 profit in 7 days would suggest a very good strike rate at those kind of odds giving nearly £300 profit on average per day.

What number of selections account for each of the 3/1 odds. .is it singles, doubles??

  127. taribo 9 years ago

    sorry Mr H your right

its going well just now but i know that it could be just a lucky run, however i would still be confident on most days i could get one up but not all the time

i wouldnt go above a treble and i have been sticking more to goal markets

i havent done any singles yet but you could do with over 3.5 goals maybe get a 3/1

no set method really just whatever i fancy

i never do a points system but i may start doing that, i think if you restrict yourself to this method and not bet on anything else it could be rewarding but time will tell

  128. Mr H 9 years ago

Turkish Cup game with Osmanlispor 4-0 up before it and 4/6 too win 2nd half against a team from 3liga

  129. GD173 9 years ago

    Taribo,

What are your fancies for this evening using your new system?

  130. Mr H 9 years ago

Taribo I’m interested too see how it works over say a month or so. Keep us updated on how it evolves because in theory it could have some value. £100 stakes are high though but I’d maybe be interested at lower stakes too give it a trial run

  131. taribo 9 years ago

yes im going to start recording everything, i wish i could do lower stakes, i have had many highs and many lows but thats due to racing not football, because with racing i can et to impulsive to be each race which is my downfall so im sticking just to football

another take on it is if you just bet on one 3/1 coupon per day, ok so in a week all 7 could lose but thats unlikley, you would just need 2 to come in to be up 100 for the week or whatever your points system is. thats a win 5 of roughly 25% per week to be in profit

what i have learned is to stop backing even money singles, i know the super single’s are evens but for me now if you lose its harder to get back in profit, all you need is a couple per week to come in if you do one bet per day

GD 173 ill be putting up my 3 very soon

  132. Gopher 9 years ago

Ha ha Mr H, think your Turkey game is a sign for me with my Dunfermilne DC tip tonight.

I’m going to stick a few quid on O6.5 mgs, not fussed which team score them but at 4/5 (and having been 5 goals already) got to fancy it might come in.

    TODAYS GOALSCORER TIP

    PSG VS GUINGAMP

David Luiz is a great price for first goalscorer and to score anytime. To score first he’s as short as 11/1 with Hills and Ladbrokes and for anytime he’s as short as 5/2 with Hills. You can have 22/1 first and 15/2 anytime with Paddy Power. Prices in the Paddy Power shop are only 14/1 and 13/2 but just write the bigger prices down on a slip and tell them it’s online prices which they will match. I have done this several times including today in the Clydebank shop without any trouble.

    RECOMMENDED BETS:

David Luiz Anytime Goalscorer @ 15/2

Am going with O1.5 fhgls (11/10 Bet365) – LOST and O3.5mgs (1/1 Bet365) – WON in the Sparta Prague u19 game. – Same stake on both so no profit or loss.

For those stakes it’s got too singles and limit the risk, the more selections you make the bigger advantage you give the bookie. Best advice I can give is keep it as simple as possible,it’s taken me years too realise this buddy . GL with your system

    ****GREAT VALUE BET (HEADS UP)****

    CELTIC VS RAITH ROVERS (WED)

Celtic 1/16 at home to Raith Rovers should breeze past them with ease. It’s hard to spot value but I think I’ve found a cracker. Nir Bitton should start and after his goal against Ajax, the midfielder is a huge 20/1 with Coral and Bet365 to score first goal. compare this price to Betfred‘s 8/1 and Hills and Ladbrokes 9/1 and I’m sure you’ll agree. Even better value is Bitton to score anytime. He’s a measly 6/4 with William Hill and a massive 7/1 with Coral. I’m not sure the price will hold out as in my opinion Coral have priced this up wrong.

    RECOMMENDED BETS
Nir Bitton First Goalscorer @ 20/1
Nir Bitton Anytime Goalscorer @ 7/1 (Coral)

    Good luck everyone

Mr. Fixit you are a funny guy. Asking Ryan to shorten his posts and then you put another comment up repeating it. Classic. I know it was not done on purpose and that is the funny bit. That’s why this website is number one.

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Pydar, not sure what your saying. The Ryan situation for me is a sorry one.
The guy shouldn’t be criticised for putting up tips because if you don’t like them don’t read them.
I’ve advised him on a couple of occasions to shorten the posts and put up fewer tips but he didn’t listen.
Instead he points out the number of selections I make on a Saturday – but that’s a one-off day for me because I tend to post the tips that appear in the Daily Record where readers ask for draws, aways, long shots, etc.
If Ryan is not going to post again I wish him well.
He and no one else who puts up tips deserves abuse but he could have handled it a bit better.

    Afternoon gents,

Reading the comments between the Scottish lads on here who know a damn sight more than I do about Scots football, I can’t seem to get a clear picture either way.

Given the overall balance of comments, can’t help fancying the one bet that hasn’t been mentioned on here – stands at 13/5 (365)…the draw and I’ll be having a little go at that.

No time for reasoning but my two main bets for tonight are:

    MIDDLESBORO v WOLVES…Over 2.5 goals 19/20 (Coral)…NAP

    VILLA v BIRMINGHAM…Over 46 booking points 11/10…NB

Or am I missing the point?

    • PeteT 9 years ago

Luke – I think the Rangers of last season are very different to the Rangers of this season. That’s the difference which, unless you watched them week in, week out, you probably wouldn’t know about.

So sensible and fair question as I didn’t get it to start with ether! :)

Afternoon chaps. I am new to the site, started following end of August and betting start of September. My take on the whole arguing is that it is a shame as we are all really just trying to get a few winners. Thing is just like the actual football people are passionate and maybe that takes over sometimes. I have my own feelings about Ryan’s betting strategy, it isn’t in line with my own, but each to their own – I certainly find his write ups interesting. I started following the tips of Greg, Mr F and John B largely because I love having a punt on the footy and the horses, and don’t always have the time to do my own in depth research. Granted it isn’t the best plan to put your money and faith blindly but I like what I read and am happy to back their bets as if it goes tits up I am only betting what I am happy to lose – sure September doesn’t look like the idea starting point as both are currently down but I am sure that will turn around.

Just wanted to say that I love the site and love reading the comments and getting insights into some great tips from all involved.

  182. Derek 9 years ago

Mr F !!! Was afraid you were going to take Morton As the single. Motherwell will go there and win tonight , but then that’s only my opinion. I really believe we will go there and attack and win with a bit to spare

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Derek, it’s a long shot SS hence 1pt. I don’t know why you’re so confident about Motherwell who have showed nothing this season.
Morton are a tough to beat and as I said an option is not to lose.
I’m hoping they score first and I can cover.

  185. Mr H 9 years ago

Luke maybe this will give a bit of perspective on the situation. If you cast your mind back too 2006 and the relegation of Juventus too Serie B. They played in the 2nd tier and came back as champions they were a Serie A club playing in Serie B for reasons out with football ability.

Rangers are the same this season in my opinion. They have a Premier League squad playing in the Championship and now they seem too have the right men in the dugout and the boardroom after all the financial chaos they are moving in the right direction. There’s not much of a gap between the bottom of the Premier and the top of the Championship. Rangers,Hibs and Falkirk would give most of the Premier league sides a decent game

    Both to score @ 4/5 or 1.80

Home side as poor as the results are going they can score goals. At home podbrezova in 5 games have scored 9 conceeded 10.

  199. nightowl 9 years ago

Here’s a conundrum for you, courtesy of B365:

Bromley are at home to bottom of the table Kidderminster tonight. In their last game (a 7-3 win against Torquay) I noticed a player scored a hat-trick, and has scored 6 goals in his last 4 games.

On a site I use for stats his surname is given as Ademola but on the highlights I watched of the Torquay match his surname is Emmanuel. Wiki says he changed his surname from Ademola to Emmanuel in July… however, 365 have goalscorer markets for both Ademola and Emmanuel – Emmanuel is priced at 11/2 FGS or 6/4 AGS whereas Ademola is 6/1 and 7/4!

Both lots of odds are good value for the league’s top scorer against the league’s worst team but I don’t know who to bet on – Ademola obviously offers better value but can you bet on someone who doesn’t legally exist?!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

nightowl, you can try to do the bet – but even if they take they might not pay you at the bigger price.

Afternoon all, not a fan of cup games at all so from todays card I have looked at league matches from Germany. I have put together just below evens goal double, I will Start with my pick from the Budesliga.

Darmstadt 98 Vs Werder Bremen, Both teams have had a decent start to the season but a stat that I quite like the look of, Werder Bremen have scored in there past 12 AWAY Bundesliga games and are in my opinion absolutely capable of scoring tonight.

Hertha BSC Vs Koln Again good starts for both teams especially Koln 5 goals in 2 away games suggests to me they are able to notch one tonight.

Werder Bremen Over 0.5 team Goals
    Koln Over 0.5 team Goals

    1.87 / 87/100

13pts up in past 4 days like I say Ive had my best month here hoping it continues. of course I only posted my bets last night so 2 from 2 so far lets make it 3!… I get alot of satisfaction from studying bets rather than follow, all for fun nothing more, again not a tip just what I fancy tonight.

    Good luck all regards Jimmy.

The 1st leg saw FUS run out 1-0 winners in a tight game that was played only 3 days ago at Kenitra and i predict the same again, another tight game and a win for the Hosts whose home form is actually very good. Not barrel loads of goals in their games but they have a good H2H against this team be only playing them 3 days ago and winning away from home, you’d have to fancy them again here. Kremser SC v FC Wacker Innsbruck – Over 1.5 Wacker Team Goals
TSV St. Johann v LASK Linz – Over 1.5 LASK Team Goals
Ebbsfleet v Weston – Ebbsfleet -0.5 (Asian Handicap)

    Pays 1.01/1 @ Bet365

Looking at it, I can’t find a fault with this treble. Wacker and Linz are in the second division in Austria and sit first and second respectively. Tonight they both face opposition from a division below in the Austrian Cup. I mentioned yesterday that Wacker have been prolific this season scoring 28 goals in their 10 league games, LASK have scored 18 in their 10 league games and aren’t quite as lethal however they do remain the only team to have beaten Wacker this season and I don’t envisage that they will have any difficulties scoring 2 this evening. Completing my treble with Ebbsfleet, an unbeaten side who sit top of the English Conference South after winning 9 of their 10 opening match face a Weston team who are currently bottom with just the one win in their opening 10 games.

Placed my bet, and then in time it has taken me to justify my selections Bet365 have cut the price on LASK team goals meaning the treble now pays 0.91/1

Rangers (because like many I think they’ll step up well tonight)
Psg -1 (their last 4 games have seen 3 2-0 victories at home and last 3 home games to guingamp have covered -1 including 6-0 last season)
Atletico Madrid (won all of last 5 home games to getafe by at least a clear goal and to nil so other bets are a good shout but I’m just sticking with the win)

    Treble pays about 5/2

On the ladies games will wait and see the France goal line would take around 7. Not sure on the Germany goal line … may see what it looks like in play.

Alves what do mean half of them will be away back down south after their loans.im sure theirs only 3 loan players and maybe an option of a further year as they would still be on fringes.this rangers team is night and day from last season thats why they are favourite

  226. wednesbury ay it 9 years ago

Whilst Walsall will want to do well against top opposition I can’t help but think Chelsea will have to much class not to win this fixture. That said both teams to score is not beyond the realms of possibility. So at a tantalizing evens, courtesy of William Hill,I think this has a great chance. If this post offends you don’t back it and if it doesn’t good luck.

ha ha No offense intended Mr F. Just saying that in my eyes there aint nothing wrong with simple debate.

Agreed that comments should focus on tips but tipsters should realise that along with all praise they get comes scrutiny too and they shouldn’t get all defensive when it happens. Not telling you how to run the site son cause I think you doing an amazing job and its one of the best out there in terms of quality tips. Just a suggestion for when the new site rolls out…nothing more.

Im just assuming its because of Socohaux’s 3-1 win in last meeting back in July pre season,i know as much about French lg 2 footy as i do about a stick insects mating habits but im taking a chance on the odds anyway for a small stake.

Dutch cup: Kozakken Boys v Staphorst (19.00)

    Kozakken Boys over 2.5 team goals @ 2.23 with Unibet / 888sport

I had a look at today’s cup games and it’s not easy to find value in the games involving the professional teams. But their is one game that I like between two amateur teams. There are only two tiers of professional football in Holland and teams from the Jupiler league can’t get relegated. There isn’t a real football pyramid like other countries. The highest league below the Juplier League is the Topklasse and that is where Kozakken Boys play (there are 2 topklasses, one played on Saturday and one played on Sunday). Some Topklasse teams are better than Juplier League teams and some players earn more than the players in the tier above them. Kozakken Boys won their Topklasse last season and are back on track this season scoring 11 in their last 4 league games. They play Staphorst tonight who are a league below them. Staphorst conceded 5 in their 3 league games and are near the bottom of the table just like last season. I think the level between these two teams is quite big.

I just checked Kozakken Boys line-up. They play their strongest team with their goalscorers Eloisghiri and Grot starting. I can see a easy home win.

  261. Mr Samsung 9 years ago

@ Humble Tipper, a don’t do corners … So your saying Wolfsburg to get two corners or more is even money?

That’s a great price for that. I expect a Buyern win but it shouldn’t be to much trouble getting just two corners for Wolfsburg

I’ve posted my last few bets tonight…On such a horrendous run that I’m going to jack it in for a few days and look at efficient ways to bet.

I’ve got the rugby bet which I placed yesterday so I’m hoping for a few winners tonight and a winner tomorrow and then I’ll spend Thursday and Friday looking at the weekend card.

I’ve decided I’ll be allocating a betting bank for the month and placing the same amount of money on each bet.
I’ll also be keeping a running total for the month and now need to instill some control in my bets.

My main issue is I’ll place a bet i.e over 2.5 goals in Wolves v Brighton game and after half an hour I find the price of over 1.5 goals as attractive and a banker. Even at 0-0 I couldn’t resist throwing a few quid on Brighton to win it.

It’s these different number of bets which add up and waste more money than what I would have done anyway.

Anyways that’s my confession off my chest. Wishing everybody a goodnight and I’ll see you all in a few days with my bets for the weekend.

    Morocco Cup: K.O 4pm

    FUS RABAT v KAC KENITRA

    Predictions:

FUS RABAT EVENS William Hill *LOST*

Under 1.5 match goals 5/4 William Hill *WON*

The 1st leg saw FUS run out 1-0 winners in a tight game that was played only 3 days ago at Kenitra and i predict the same again, another tight game and a win for the Hosts whose home form is actually very good. Not barrel loads of goals in their games but they have a good H2H against this team be only playing them 3 days ago and winning away from home, you’d have to fancy them again here. EVENS is a great price and i’ll be jumping on!

Main bet didn’t win but the back up did, guess i broke even!

    Me last night…

I’ll be waiting on team news and possibly backing City Over 2.5 Team Goals or 1.5 and try and find something else. No words needed to describe Sunderland. Not sure a long cup run is what they’ll be wanting. Not that they’ll be looking forward to their weekend fixture at another club from Manchester ;)

4-0 before HT. Odds against for 3 too… West Ham better draw or win.

  335. Jordan 9 years ago

Bloody hope so WC! Helps we’ve got Sunderland at home too.

    ###### lewondowski 5 goals in 9 minutes thats just crazy. Must be a record ####

  372. Harry 9 years ago

Bromley being my local team I go to the home games as much as I can, when I’m not at arsenal as the games don’t clash too often. Moses Ademola has chances to score in every game as he’s so so so much quicker than the fullbacks he’s facing in this league. Looks very confident at the moment too so would suggest it’s a good idea to regularly back him as I’ve seen a few doing tonight

  373. Jordan 9 years ago

  384. DrJabobs 9 years ago

Mr Fixit, don’t know if you’re still looking for suggestions for the new website. I personally use my iPhone to view the site and on days like today where there’s 3-400 posts scrolling down to the bottom of the page every time I refresh can be a bit annoying. Maybe having the posts in the opposite order would be better having the most recent at the top and the oldest at the bottom?

Like I said just a suggestion, think I’m just being a bit lazy!

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Drjabobs, big meeting with admin tomorrow to test the site so maybe that’s something that’s changed.

    Man Utd to beat Ipswich
    Crystal Palace to beat Charlton

    Double pays 2.24 @ Ladbrokes

Can’t see either Premiership side losing, Pardew has done brilliantly at Palace and they’ll be more than safe this season so can’t see why they wouldn’t want a cup run. They’ve played well this season even if the results haven’t always gone there way, but they can take confidence from the knowledge that they are capable of beating Chelsea and gave Arsenal a real fight. As for United I feel LVG will want a trophy this season and they’re not going to win the league so will have to make do with a cup competition. They have plenty of players who haven’t had loads of game time such as Herrera, Fellaini and Young – of course team news will be vital as ever but I’m happy to take my chances with these two.

  428. Shaks 9 years ago

Jordan, im an ipswich fan and in all honesty not expecting much from tomorrow. Mccarthys got us set up as a hard to beat unit but we concede so many pathetic goals its ridiculous. Our strike force is pretty decent for championship standard with all four main strikers able to push for a starting place in most promotion chasing teams.

Mccarthy has used this cup to mostly put out second string team members but that was against opposition like doncaster and stevenage, he did then state that he may have to look at the united line up differently so i expect to see a fairly/if not our strongest line up possible to minimise damage haha!

i cant see It being completely a one sided game and id oike to think that we can potentially have some part in the game. I can still see united winning but id like to think we can put up a fight with us scoring. Can see a 2 or 3 – 1 to united.

Would of been going if had holiday left to take and wasnt working nights this week! Gutted. Will try post tomorrow if get a chance about possible team if hear anymore.

Lost, absolute howler that one. Heard the Man City team news on my way to training and lumped on -1 though so it wasn’t all bad.

Tempted by Chelsea -1 tomorrow night at a whopping 6/5. Terry and Falcao are confirmed to start but not sure about the rest yet… the champions of England should be able to beat a third tier club by two goals though! As mentioned the other day I also fancy Wednesday to get a win at St James, now at 7/2 from 15/4. Team news is the key though.

I’ve got a result and BTTS double on tomorrow night involving Basel and Grasshoppers that pays 14/1. I decided too see how the bet would have fared in the previous fixtures this season .

There’s been 8 complete rounds in the Swiss Super League so far but Basel have played Grasshoppers in those fixtures so it leaves 7 other round of fixtures too compare and this double would have landed in 2 of those 7 games. In another 2 of them Basel fulfilled their side of the bet while Grasshoppers were involved in 3-3 draws on both occasions.

Could be a double with a good strike rate over the course of a season too be profitable in a hard too crack market

Tanner cheers for the heads up on Bragantino, gonna have a look at corners before KO

  434. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

No worries Alves. Hope all is well mate.

Well check back in later to see if your on anything.

  435. leecunliffe 9 years ago

Shaks cheers for the info always good to get fans perspective what happened to Darryl Murphy this season he was banging them in for fun last year is he still there?

Jordan I think last year LVG confused the league cup for Johnstone paint and thought Mk dons were in same league as Stockport, he learned the hard way and now I’d expect to see nazi, rvp, Falcao and Di Maria all up top as we got so many striking options…..

    • Jordan 9 years ago

      Nazi??? Hahaha

True but you know him. He’ll stick Fellaini in number 10 again. Can’t play Martial and Rooney every game. Season is deep. Just seen a report saying the likes of Wilson and Lingard are ‘not needed’ for tomorrow. Suggests to me we’ll be going for it.

  436. Jordan 9 years ago

Shaks it was your gravatar I was looking for in a reply. Nice one mate. I’d fancy you scoring if we play the likes of McNair at the back. Wouldn’t suggest we run home with a win until seeing our line up too. All the best mate.

Pigeon racing what a refreshing idea perhaps a section for the updated site

  438. FriedGold 9 years ago

Some very tasty o0.5 goal odds in Serie A tomorrow night.

    SAMPDORIA vs Roma 1/2
    Palermo vs SASSUOLO 4/9
    Lazio vs GENOA 4/7

Will definitely be taking advantage of those as well as Grasshoppers 10/11 to get 2 against Sion.

  439. Mr H 9 years ago

Thinking again about that Swiss double, all 8 rounds so far have seen either Basel or Grasshoppers be a winner in the score and win market….backing both each week at level stakes singles would have produced profit each week

  440. Wato 9 years ago

Harry another moral victory for us tonight was no game finishing 0-0 in France :) it’s coming ;) haha

  441. Shaks 9 years ago

Haha. Yeh im still here, dont post much, just the odd post every now and again when feel theres something to add! Hoping for a good game tomorrow though. Just dont want us to play how we did away at reading last week or we will have another hammering!

Will look into more tomorrow to see if can find any news or value bets. But at moment looking at goalscorers and think that if we were to score could see it being from a set piece so odds of 14/1 on usual starting cbs berra and tommy smith are decent enough.

  442. leecunliffe 9 years ago

Ha ha nani was my text my predictive text chose a different word ha ha

We got enough squad players without time on pitch like fellaini and ash young, valencia throw in the odd mcnair and hopefully perreria

  443. Shaks 9 years ago

Lee mate, murphy had a rubbish pre season! And then went and got himself injured. He came on against birmingham on friday and is starting to look back to himself, it just doesnt seem to be going for him at moment. Our top striker at moment would be freddie sears looks sharp when playing and scoring a fair few goals.

  444. Shaun tanner 9 years ago

Falcao to score with a header into the top right hand corner between 20-40 minutes then kissing the badge in celebration or running to Mourinho in haste.

  463. Greg Browning 9 years ago

Morning gents – a plethora of matches today domestically and across Europe, too many matches for my liking and narrowing down a short list has been difficult

Going to to post an over 2.5 goals NAP and given the volume of games, I’m going to highlight 6 games that i looked at that I like for goals

GIF Sundsvall v AIK KO 6.05pm

The visitors are in a three battle for the title and come here in terrifc form Having won 8 league matches on the spin! 8 of their last 10 games have seen over 2.5 goals with both teams scoring and they’ll fancy their chances tonight against a side who have struggled this season! They were hammered 5-1 last week and prior to that lost to both lowly Atvidaberg and Falkenberg! AIK love playing this lot having lost just won of the previous 17 meetings with the last 7 played at GIF all seeing both teams score! The way AIK are playing it’s hard not to fancy them to grab a few goals tonight GIF have found the net against some of the leagues better sides this season and going by previous meetings, there’s a good chance they’ll net tonight which should lead us to goals

Back over 2.5 match goals 4/5 (Bet365) (NAP)
