I really can’t see the Patriots offense doing much with a rookie at QB. Garropolo has only just become proficient in the system and that’s with 3 years experience learning from Belichek and Brady. The texans front 7 is monstrous and could really rattle the young Pats QB early. Although the bookies must know this so I’m wary on why the Texans are still such good value. Osweiler has been average at best in this first 2 starts for Houston and Belichek will be looking for his defense to contain him well and also give his team good field position and even create points from turnovers. Prob gonna stay away from this one because everything points towards Texans but when Bill’s back is against the wall he usually brings something special to the table.

Just trying to finish up deciding on my bet now mate.

However the bookies are going to look at the fact that the Patriots beat the Cardinal without their best reciever and QB. Not only this but they have 10 wins from their last 11 games as an underdog at home. Trying to find the correct value is hard.

Hopefully Jordan has something special lined up for us all!

Early morning rugby union match that i’m on:

    Northland v Wellington (8.35am KO)

Northland – More converted penalties than tries @4.5!

Essentially Northland are bottom of the table and the amount of points scored against them is horrendous; they will take any easy points on offer against a Wellington side that are coming in 3 wins in a row and 2nd in the table. I do think Northland will sneak 1 or 2 tries in, but they love a penalty kick.

    GL all.

I have to back Gronkowski @ 6/4 to score a TD if he starts…but will wait until tomorrow for confirmation to post such things properly.

Will post an actual tip at some point tomorrow.

A really tough game Jack. In my short time as an NFL follower I’ve come to realize not to back against Bill Belicheck, especially at home. He could have a Punter at QB and still come up with the perfect game plan against Houston and keep JJ Watt out of the game. Its really not one I’d bet a side on, but a few things I’ve noticed in the first two weeks. With Jimmy G at QB, Blount has had heavy doses of carries totaling 20+ carries in each game, if Garappolo doesn’t start you can expect another heavy run game from the Pats and Blount#’s carries are 19.5 @ 5/6 @ 365 which could go over regardless of which QB plays.

Another thing I’ve noticed is the Pats pass defence has been bad, giving up 389 yards to Ryan Tannehill last week, and 270 odd to Carson Palmer week 1. Houston obviously have Hopkins, and their addition of Fuller in the draft has been productive.

    Therefore;

Brock Osweiler (Houston Texans) Over 248.5 Passing Yards @ 5/6 @ PP is my shout. 2.4 points staked.

Agree that it’s a pretty hard game to pick on Jordan. Will be on your pick as always.

My pick is the Texans -3 @ 5/4. I just don’t feel like the Patriots will have enough in them, feel like this could well end below 40 points bt can’t bring myself to tip unders when I will be watching it.

Seriously think the Patriots are going to win it all again, statistics show that the teams that have momentum often win the Superbowl, and so by that logic teams who rest their players when they are 14-0 don’t do as well as expected. Brady missing the first 4 games of the season will be a blessing in disguise if they end up 3-1. Hopefully it doesn’t work out that way.

Ladbrokes offering 245.5 for Osweiler @ 17/20. Another 2 points for me.

  6. Jordan 8 years ago

Just goes to show how utterly clueless some firms are at pricing up prop bets. Bwin have opened their Osweiler yards at 195.5 @ 17/20 which I cannot turn down. Always a chance he gets injured obviously, but when there are 69 yards between Bwin and 365, I can’t turn it down. 5 points on Over 195.5. This total won’t last.

That’s a hell of a spot. I’m all over that! Thanks, buddy

    • Jordan 8 years ago

There’s a chance we’ll get an email @jamiew but lets hope not. Even PP and Ladbrokes have upped their lines to 258.5 and 250.5 respectively. Would still back the 258.5 but obviously gone a long way from where I’ve posted.

    • jackcfc 8 years ago

Think it could have been an error Jordan as I see PP for example have Brissett’s yards at 195.5. Let’s hope not for your sake

  7. Jordan 8 years ago

Already up to 258.5 ? Cheers Bwin.

Certainly an error no doubt about that Jack but still no email.

Possible sleeper tonight. James White for the Pats. When Belicheck comes up against good pass rushers (Clowney, Watt) his strategy is usually to get the ball out of Brady’s hands asap, to nullify the likes of Watt or whoever the best pass rusher is at the time. Cue James White. By no means going to be a threat in the running game although could take some of Blount’s carries, but White will be key in the pass game. White played in Houston last season when these two met for 40 yards from 4 receptions and 1 carry. You’d have to think Belicheck will be implementing the run and gun style tonight being down to his third QB and Rob Gronkowski still a game time decision. Brissetts top three targets last week against Miami were Edelman, Bennett and White. I’m guessing Bennetts’ yards aren’t available because Gronk might play, Edelman has a reasonable total of 52.5 @ Coral, but still might be too much with doubt over Gronk. I’d wait for his game status, but James Whites Rush and Receiving Yards @ 34.5 @ 5/6 could be tempting to go over.

Evening all, your main man Max here, I’m never one to look back but nothing to hide here. Week 1 was superb, week 2 was poor, but don’t forget its still early and sides are getting hit my injuries everywhere. Week 3 is upon us and I am hoping to kick it off with some winners tonight for myself and my followers, in a good looking game, albeit a tough one to call.

I am reluctant to go against Belicheck most games even more so at home and in even more front of a national audience. I do think this maybe more high scoring than people think, a short turn around, players coming off tough games in week 2, we saw last Thursday was week a high scorer. I am going back to my roots field goals and taking one of the best kickers in the NFL. I am taking Pats O1.5fg at evens, and with both teams missing guys on defence, (hence why I think it could be a high scorer) It wouldn’t surprise me if the Pats pull this off tonight however I am on Pats at home to score O20pts facing a defence without Cushing and doubts over several players JJ Watt being one although I expect him to play he wont be 100%. It pays 23/20 and finally the game to see O38pts is 4/5.

I will post a prop tip once I have seen who’s in and who’s out if I get the chance.

    Patriots O1.5fgs 1/1
    Patriots O20pts 23/20
    Pats v Houston O38pts 4/5

    (All odd at Bet365)

    GL

Just seen the Osweiler tips, 258 would look a bit high to me, unless Pats jumped out to a big lead, but I always think because of Brady, Gronk, Blount and Edelman this D gets overlooked, yes they usually rank in the bottom 10 in terms of pass D, but that’s because they force teams to throw the ball deep down the field. The 195yds looks an absolute steal, so I hope you all get paid out.

It happened to me on a O1.5tg in the football couple of years ago, I disputed it with them threatened to leave, kept em on live chat for over an hour in the end they paid me out but said something like ” Max on this occasion only we will stand the bet, but please read our terms and conditions carefully” I didn’t touch the account for 3 days than withdrew the whole lot. If you do get paid out my advice is to withdraw it and run!!!!!!

Been bashing the bookies ever since :-)

I really hope the Patriots can make home field advantage count in this 1. It will be very close i reckon. Im going with L Blount to score anytime TD@ 11-10. Hopefully big Gronk will be getting alot of attention in red zone and Blount will sneak in a TD. Cmon the Pats!!!!
