IT was a strange weekend and most punters will be glad it's over. I said on Saturday the card was as tough as it could be but still landed three decent winners.
On Sunday it looked a bit better but not brilliant and we're learning all the time about how some sides don't perform well after midweek European matches.
My Sunday Super Single was Crystal Palace not to lose at Spurs and I saw many tips for them to win but it didn't happen for them on the day.
I picked a both teams to score treble that looked good on the stats but Carpi and Stuttgart failed to net and I thought I was going to get out of jail on the Top Treble.
After over 2.5 goals at Bodo/Glimt and Barcelona -2 I needed a Marseille win. But they conceded to Lyon then went down to 10 men before the game was suspended after crowd trouble.
I was hoping that would leave me with a double but it started again and even though Marseille equalised the treble was beaten.
Last night I mentioned just three games – Derby v Burnley, Sporting v Nacional and Braga v Maritimo – and I've decided to combine two of them in a Super Single.
I wanted to hear resident Rams fan Nathan Ufton's thoughts on the Championship game but he's surprised me by going unders. Both sides have seen five of their seven matches bring up the both to score market, including all three of Derby's games, so I'm going with both to score. It's worth pointing out Burnley have won seven of the last eight meetings between the sides.
Sporting have started the season well with three wins and a draw to sit second behind Porto but if they are to challenge the big two sides in Portugal they have to beat side such as Nacional at home. They should do so but 3-10 is too short for a single so I;m making it a Super Single double.
I like the stats posted by Russ stating Maritimo had scored in every game since March 15 v Sporting. Ten of their last 11 have seen both score so it the figures suggests a Braga win and btts.
Meanwhile, admin have asked me to thank everyone for their contributions over the weekend … and their patience. Despite problems with the site on Friday night and early Saturday morning we saw record traffic and the site continues to grow with the help of many people.
The new site is built and almost ready to launch. We're testing it this week and if there are no problems we'll soon be good to go. I'm sure the improvements, new tipsters and additional features will be welcomed by everyone.

A poor weekend indeed Mr F, particularly today with plenty of disappointments.
No need to post all of my results, suffice to say, I lost 10 points today. Genoa’s failure to score breaking my “deadly double” and Palace’s failure to get a result broke my “tasty treble” – Sassuolo was probably my best bets of a pretty disappointing day.
Even on a poor day like this, 1 goal here or there and it could have been oh so different but we move on.

Harry, good advice from Ryan. If you “need” wins don’t bet.
If you would just like wins then teams to score or over 1.5 match goals are easier to pick than any.
In a way go by the odds – the shorter the single or accumulator the better chance you have of winning.

I’m 75 points up since the start of the season but 5 points down for the month.
If you “need 3 straight wins” I would probably not gamble because you should save your money if you really need it for something.
However, what are you trying to accomplish? turn £5 into £10? £5 into £100? £200 into £300? It all depends on what you want to accomplish and how much patience you have. I’ve had some poor runs of form and some great runs too and you can never predict entirely when you will be at your most profitable.
For instance, I had a tremendous August, over 80 points of profit for a month that traditionally is very difficult due to the new season and a whole host of changes and a lack of recent form or stats. Now a month into the season and I’ve lost 10 points on a Sunday and I’m 5 points down for September.
Goal bets are my favourite markets, BTTS and over 2.5 goals but I’m sure there are some other tipsters on here who can give you some good tips on cards, corners etc.

Pre match Derby/Burnley thoughts:
Derby have a wretched record against Burnley both home and away, in the last ten games, we’ve got 2 draws and lost 8. The last 2x seasons they were in the championship – including their promotion season, they did the double over us without a single reply.
Burnley having sold Danny Ings to me is as ” nail in the coffin to the club ” as splitting up Sutton and Shearer in the nineties and later Kevin Phillips @ Southampton with I forget his name. Ironically, Kevin Phillips has just left Leicester to join Derby as assistant to Paul Clements. Judging by how having a former successful striker near the top of the coaching tier ( look at Burton ) only has to be a good thing.
Chris Baird for Derby is still out for concussion and Thorne may come back in to the reckoning.
Chris Martin is firing on all cylinders as is Johnny Russell and whilst I think Derby’s front line is better than Burnleys, Burnley have won their last 4 games, strangely before we grabbed a winner against Reading, Reading were on a terrific unbeaten run.
Up until we played Preston, we had some serious bad luck with cruel deflections costing us 2 wins. That luck seemed to take an about turn in that game because the woodwork saved us on probably 3 occasions. The look on Lee Grants face was a picture on each occasion. Not sure he’ll be between the sticks tonight as I think Scott Carson is a better all around goalkeeper.
I’m still not convinced by Derby’s back 4, although the Shackell partnering Keogh seems to add a bit more security.
Derby were pre-season favourites and we’ve spent a bucket load of cash and I’m actually surprised we’re 11/10 favourites to win this game. Its a game we need to get something from because Burnley could/should be in the mix come the end of the season. Last year, we had an awful record against the teams who finished top 6. I wouldn’t want to spend my money on a game that I simply cannot make a logical prediction because this game can go in any direction, however, I would be more confident looking at the unders 2.5 tmg’s, over 3.5 cards and I can see both sides getting a handful of corners.
I can see this being a pitch battle in midfield and I expect cards to fly out of the ref’s pocket. Both teams will fancy 3 points today with a win for Derby bringing us a little further up the table and a win for Burnley would give them 5 from 5 and breathing down the neck of Brighton. I do not see this being a big scoring match and I genuinely think its going to be a 1 nil for someone.

My tip is hibs to beat Aberdeen in league cup and Inverness to beat Aberdeen in league on Saturday my reason for this is hibs are improving as are Inverness and Aberdeen are due a lose and like forest green who went 9 in a row have lost last 2 and hearts won 5 in a row lost last 3 should be 4 when celtic play them on Saturday also rangers will also lose in next 3 games but will beat st Johnstone 3 -1 in cup
Mark, McInnes has targeted a cup win this season and they blew away Hearts on Sunday. I wouldn’t back against Aberdeen who have options to freshen up the side too.

Burnleys £9 million Ings replacement subbed halfway through the first half. Derby have had the better chances and more of them. We took time to get started but from maybe the 10th minute, we’ve had the lions share of possession. Burnley are 4-1 up on corners, theres no goals so far and could easily of been a Derby penalty with their keeper off. So far it seems like the ref is backing out with the cards which I’m surprised at as theres been a fair few incidents. Maybe the 2nd half will be different. I still think this will deliver under 2.5 goals though.

Milan have shown sign of improvements and could win here, especially considering that terrible home run of form for Udinese but Milan on the road have been very poor for a long time and I cant back them here at just 5/4. BTTS @5/6 is my selection here and I think it has a pretty good chance.

I have been doing this for a while and I can cover a match in detail in 25 minutes. Thus 4 previews took me about 2 hours to do. It’s not an easy job or a fast job but it’s something I enjoy doing and as I’ve stated earlier, I have my OWN SITE where I have just posted the same preview.

Belgrano have a good home record, 8th in the form table of 30 & only conceding 8 goals. They have scored 2+ goals in these last 2 fixtures.
Rafaela have a pretty bad away record, 26th of 30 & conceding 19 goals. They have only one win from twelve away.
The only thing that was putting me off team goals was Belgranos lack of goals for at home but that’s the chance I’m taking.
In brief thats why I went for the team goals.
That’s not to say we won’t see an away goal & GL to you mate if you go for the BTTS. :)
