Sep 15: Jordan’s Football Tips

JORDAN moved seamlessly from NFL to the Champions League and landed a nice winner.

His 10-11 double was Man City to score 2+ and Leicester not to lose and was never in doubt.

He’s got a Europa League tip for tonight and says: “I’m questioning how big the gap in competitive football is between Dundalk and AZ Alkmaar. Certainly the bookies think the Dutch are huge favourites but Dundalk are here for a reason.

“AZ lost Vincent Janssen and Markus Henriksen in the summer and that’s a blow. Two players who combined roles in 49 of their 70 goals last season in the league (70 per cent). Dundalk fell at the last Champions League hurdle but still played fairly well over both legs against Legia Warsaw and knocked out BATE in the process of progression and I really think they could get something (a goal at least) in Alkmaar.”

Dundalk to Score (6pm)

(11-10, Betfair) – 2 points

I tend to think playing Ajax, feyenoord, Psv, etc is quite a gap in competitive football compared to playing bray, wexford youths, Longford etc.

This is a pointless competition though so it’s all about attitude and if az are not serious about it, dundalk could score in a 2-1 or 3-1 defeat.l

AZ are usually a side who take this seriously. You tend to find teams who have no chance of winning the league and no chance of going down trying at this stage. That may change later if they’ve got a chance of a Champions League spot.

I reckon the Irish lge is on comparison with the majority of Scottish football, on that logic and after a surprisingly 180 v legia,,,Dundalk have an excellent chance of gaining at least a point v AZ

Dundalk have done amazingly well but sorry the League of Ireland is not on a par with the Scottish Premiership.
If it was fans wouldn’t cross the Irish Sea every week to go to see Celtic and Rangers as well as the likes of Liverpool and Man United.

Dutch football is streets ahead of Irish football. More technical can’t see Dundalk getting much here. Although it’s definately worth a small punt due prices.

Gents, just for the record it’s not the comparison in leagues, it’s the comparison in technical ability I’m questioning of AZ. Don’t forget, those two players they lost accounted for 70% of the reason they are in this competition and I’ve been very impressed by Dundalk’s football when they played Legia and BATE.

Like @hendz77 says for the price of a goal it’s not the worst bet you’ll see posted today. Football is a funny old game.

Well done Jordan. Didn’t see it happening at all.
Dundalk won 100 grand for winning their league last season, they just picked up 120 grand for that point lol
