LIFE sure is duller without a bet and that's two days I've been on the wagon.
I've never been an advocate of punting for the sake of it but the nights go slower without a bit of added interest.
The only games I considered on Wednesday were the Germany v Finland and Ireland v Oman friendlies. But I don't like betting on these games and both favourites were extremely short.
I expected Robbie Keane to score on his final appearance but again the price was short at around 4-6.
Well done anyone who picked winners and I liked the comments on the Cardiff Met University v TNS game which pretty much proved spot on with the students proving tough to beat.
I could have hunted out something on the Welsh games or other more obscure matches but I'd rather spend my time looking ahead to the weekend and making start on my Saturday Daily Record column.
Thursday sees many more friendlies and I'm not touching them while there are three South American World Cup qualifiers including Ecuador v Brazil and that looks a tough task for visiting boss Edu who'd probably be happy with a point.
A stat that stands out is the fact Ecuador haven't lost a home qualifier this decade and while Brazil are boosted by their Olympic win I don't think the home side will lose.
Argentina thought Lionel Messi had gone but he overturned his decision to quit and is back for more. It won't be easy for Edgardo Bauza's side at home to Uruguay but he'll be keen to kick off his reign with a win and Messi's presence should give them a lift.
With no bets over the past two days my total profit for the month end on 23.2pts. I'm fairly happy with that but believe with more care and a little bit of luck I could have doubled it – and that will be the aim for September.

Quite happy it’s over. Traditionally I do better in September so let’s see.
You had a cracking start to the new Season in August Mr F. I haven’t been doing what i do for a year so i can’t comment on September but from what i can say is the last month of the EPL was a real money maker.
For me August is usually the hardest because there is no form to go on.
September should be better but is starting with internationals then straight into European games so some clubs will suffer because of that.
March and April are usually my best months when most games mean something.
