TopTips_Ladbrokes

A GOOD month ended on a low note with Coventry beating the Super Single and the Top Treble suffering an early Bath.

So for the month of August it's a small profit of just under 5pts on the Super Singles and a much more impressive 25pts on the accumulators – it probably should be the other round.

I'd take 30pts up for September right now especially as we're faced with a tough start tonight.

On Tuesday there is one Scottish League One match between Ayr and Stenhousemuir and the dreaded JP Trophy ties as well as FA qualifiers. The Ayr game is tough to call with both sides on seven points but home boss Ian McCall is moaning about his players being tired as they approach a third midweek game running.

It might be wise to avoid the Somerset side at odds on but looking at h2h five of the last six meetings in Ayr have saw both teams score and three of them have gone over 4.5 goals. In fact all eight league games played by both sides have gone over 2.5 goals so that's my shout at at 13-20 with McBookie.

Anyone who fancies Stenny should consider the away draw no bet at 12-5 with Ladbrokes and bet365.

I've learned from past mistakes and won't be tipping any WDWs for the Johnstone Paint but might put up a goals double or treble after looking at stats and form in the RFO this morning. It's not exactly cheating but for less than a pint I can myself hours of research with all of their at-a-glance figures.

In Ireland leaders Dundalk entertain third-placed Shamrock and will tempt many at just under evens while there are a pile of Northern Ireland Cup games which again someone might give us a steer about.

Dundalk have scored 2+ in their last four matches and in three of their last four against Shamrock so instead of a home win at 10-11 with Paddy Power that's my call for the Super Single.

For a Top Treble I'm on over 2.5 goals at Ayr, btts at Millwall v Peterborough (last season's league games were 2-2 and 1-5) and Andy Murray to beat Nick Kyrgios 3-0 in his US opener. It's a 1pt bet and it's a night to get silly.

2pts Super Single

Dundalk to score 2+ (8pm)
(21-20, sportingbet)

1pt Top Treble

Ayr v Stenny over 2.5 goals (7.45pm)
Millwall v Peterborough btts (7.45pm)
Murray to beat Kyrgios 3-0 (12am)
(7-2, Betfred)

August Super Single record

38 bets (18 winners, 19 losers, 1 void)
Profit: 4.53pts

Advised Accas

56 bets (18 winners, 38 losers)
Profit: 25pts

    O’ Higgins v San Marcos – KO 12.00:

In brief – not sure O Higgins will have it all their own way and 8/15 is way too dangerous for me. No doubt they are the classier side and should win but San Marcos pose an attacking threat and should net tonight.

Over 3.5 match goals pays 17/10 and looks the way to go – good luck lads.

    Final score 3-1 (0-0 at h/t!)…WON.

I’m going for something a bit different today..and relying on the law of averages. I’m going to stake 0.5pts on 1-1 for all 16 JP trophy matches tonight. If only 2 do so it will be a slight loss of roughly 1.5pts..if 3 do so then it will begin to be in profit..from there on any further 1-1’s would make another 3-3.5pts profit.

    australian FFA cup

been looking at this today and searching for a bit of value in some games has been a bit difficult. Bet 365 not got too many markets up so this is Aussie site Sportsbet generally quoted on odds. im sure bet365 will have some in play at some point

    Rockdale v Melbourne

should be a relatively easy victory for Victory. Assuming Berisha starts i like
    Berisha v Rockdale WDW @ $2.10
    Berisha 1st Goal @ $3.50
    Victory -2.5AH @ $1.875

    Metrostars v Oakleigh

only 6 out of a combined 14 have not seen BTTS for these two teams. i would go for o2.5 and BTTS but that aint up yet so will be over 2.5 at $1.75 at Bet365

    Hume v Sydney

sydney to win as they have won last 6 out of 7 games to nil

sydney to win at between $2.70- $2.90 depending on bookie

    palm beach v WSW

Should be another straightforward win and i like the handicap of -2 at $2.25 or WSW to win to nil @$2.24

Bets i will be on are

    Berisha v Rockdale WDW @ $2.10
Metrostars v Oakleigh o2.5 and BTTS in play
    Sydney Olympic @ $2.90
WSW to win to nil @ $2.24

Mr F Feruz just signed for Hibs, just need him and other strikers to start scoring because we are playing well enough,
Mates said Saturday Keatings looks really good but Raaljaca might be a better judge on that

    • raaljaca 9 years ago

John, Keatings at this level will score goals mate if he stays fit and I would liked to have seen him stay but he wanted guaranteed first team football. Feruz is an excellent signing as well if he behaves himself as he has plenty ability but really needs to grow up.

Looking at satudays Euro’s and have to say im very tempted by Slovakias odds on the +2 handicap markets away to Spain who have won last 2 games 1-0 in the group against Belarus and Ukraine and lost 2-1 against Slovakia in an earlier group meeting.
The Slovaks have won last 9 games and 12/14 losing just once away to Russia in a friendly in may 2014 and have only conceded 3 times from 6 group games. The spanish have lost 6/13 games including friendlies and i just cant see them beating a very good Slovakia team by more than a single goal if at all.

    1.60 Port Vale v Carlisle
    ———————————————————
LOUIS Dodds says Port Vale will be taking tonight’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game with Carlisle every bit as seriously as they did their Capital One Cup tie at Premier League West Brom.

The Valiants entertain the League Two Cumbrians (7.45pm) in a competition which, in the early rounds, can lack the glamour of the other cups.

But Vale are keen to put the disappointment of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Bradford behind them and striker Dodds says they will tackle the game with the same intensity they showed to take West Brom all the way to penalties last week.

He says they have to show plenty of respect to a Carlisle side who won at QPR in the Capital One Cup second round.

    • rensen 9 years ago

Top scorer Jabo Ibehre could be rested for the game as carlisle manager Keith Curle has indicated he will make wholesale changes.

  59. HullShaker 9 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

The mighty Shakers travel a few miles up the road to tackle Accrington Stanley this evening and I fancy a couple of goal bets to continue the recent trend.

Accrington’s a lovely place for those who haven’t been but is the only place I know of where the residents thought Deliverance was a local documentary.

Joking aside, Accy do well on a minute budget and haven’t had a terrible start to the season – similar to Bury they have seen a few draws and notably took Hull to penalties in the Capital Cup.

We seem to have developed some notoriety as a team that scores a lot…and concedes a lot – and thats been very well founded in recent games.

I fancy us to be too strong tonight but will wait for team news before putting a bet on. Leon Clarke is just about recovered from his hamstring injury and if he starts he will be a great bet at 7/4 for anytime goalscorer. Ryan Lowe may well get the nod and he could also be a shout at 2/1.

Accy manager John Coleman has hinted that he will be making a lot of changes to the side so again, if its the case that should favour the cause even further.

The only factor going against goals is recent head to heads which have been mostly low scoring affairs but have seen Bury have the edge.

    Possible bets to consider then:

    LEON CLARKE ATGS…7/4
    RYAN LOWE ATGS…2/1
    MATCH GOALS OVER 3.5…21/10
    BURY TG’S OVER 2.5…7/2

Good luck if you have a go.

One other game I’ll be looking at:

GRINDAVIK V VIKINGUR OLAFSVIK 7.00 KO

Not going to write a load of speel but I think the evens on offer for an away win and 15/8 for over 3.5 goals are too good to pass up so I’ll be having a go at both.

Vikingur are a solid outfit and although they may concede I can’t see them losing unless there is a specific reason for the pricing but can’t seem to find anything.

  65. Yesevil 9 years ago

JORDAN – I was on at 7/1 on the DeGea bet, you wouldn’t have been paid out yet – as technically the window is still open so he could be transfered elsewhere (to a other English club for example, unlikely I know). My best was to be a Man U player til after window closes, think that’s at 6pm?

  81. Greg Browning 9 years ago

    Afternoon gents

It’s a bit of a minefield today and would strongly suggest you look at team news before backing teams to win in the Johnstone paint and let me be clear its called the Johnstone Paint trophy, not the St Johnstone paint trophy that so many uneducated punters keep calling it, haha! – goals likely to be the safest of options! There’s also a full card of SPL u20 matches

    Ross County u20 v Inverness u20

When county are at home there tends to be goals in their games and that’s reflected that both teams have scored in county’s last 13 matches! They welcome highland rivals Inverness and to say ICT don’t travel well is an understatement! They have won just won of their last 23 away games! Was tempted to go for goals as I so
often do when County are at home, however I’m going to go with Coubty to inflict more away day blues for Inverness given they don’t lose many at home

    Back Ross County u20 6/5 (Bet365)

Will goals for me in the English Trophy

Have picked out three games I think we’ll see over 2.5 goals at

    Exeter v Portsmouth 5/6
    Port Vale v Carlisle 4/5
    Newort v Swindon 8/11

  86. Greg Browning 9 years ago

Cheers John, was in that much of a rush I put notts Instead of Newport

Greg you concentrated so hard on making sure it wasn’t called the St Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tonight that you got your Newports and your Notts mixed up haha :) good luck with Ross County later I’m on it but going to give the cup games a miss I think but will be keeping an eye on the scores

Jimba, that’s not a bad thing mate. As long as the other punters are keeping them in business with losing accas you’ll be alright. Tried telling my mates for the last couple of years that goals are the way forward but they can’t see the light, always chasing the hollywood lines so I leave them to it.

    Evening Guys, Football league trophy

I am sticking to just two scorers tonight in this completion, starting with Uche Ikpeazu who plays for Port Vale and is a big quick forward on loan from Watford. He gets the start tonight and as 2 in 5 appearances this season, while Carlisle have conceded 5 in two on the road this season he is 7/4 Skybet.

My final selection is Tom Bradshaw I tipped him against Blackpool and despite Walsall scoring 4 he didn’t get on the score sheet. He as 17 in 30 games in his career at Walsall and starts tonight he is 7/5 Coral.

Good luck if your having a bet

Double lost. Sorry lads. Overall a decent night

  162. HullShaker 9 years ago

Shakers sneak through to the second round but a 1-2 scoreline lacks the extra goal needed for my bets:

    Over 3.5 goals at 21/10…lost
Bury over 2.5 team goals at 7/2…lost

Both Lowe and Clarke didn’t play so goalscorer bets voided and could’ve been the difference but hey ho.

Better result with my Icelandic fancy:

GRINDAVIK V VIKINGUR OLAFSVIK 7.00 KO

Not going to write a load of speel but I think the evens on offer for an away win and 15/8 for over 3.5 goals are too good to pass up so I’ll be having a go at both.

An emphatic 2-7 win sees a welcome 13/8 and evens winner.

Well done all winners and see Dundalk brought the SS in Mr F….great stuff.

Over to Brasil for a night owl…

CEARÁ VS. PAYSANDU – KO 11.00:

Maybe I’m missing something here and if any folk know different then I’ll gladly stand corrected but…

Ceara are a team languishing at the foot of Serie B and have no significant form to speak of – they do however leak goals.

Conversely, Paysandu sit in second place and have good form coupled with solid results against teams around them at the top…again goals feature but in the main for themselves.

So, why are they 12/5 for a win…and why are goals priced so high? I don’t know – maybe their keeper and star striker are being held in a favella somewhere.

I’ll be going for the following:

    Over 3.5 goals…13/5
    Paysandu -1 on the h/cap…15/2
    BTTS and Paysandu win…6/1

Good luck if you have a go.

    Main game- Bragantino v Vitoria. Serie B 00.30am. BTTS 4/5 & over 2.5 mg 21/20. SPLIT STAKE 75/25.

    Boa v Parana. Serie B 00.30am. BTTS 10/11 & over 2.5 mg 6/5. SPLIT STAKE 75/25.

Metropolitanos v Estudiantes. Venezuela 11.30pm, BTTS 21/20- bit of a long shot but price is worth a punt for me.

Any Brazilian football experts awake? Why are Paysandu (2nd in league) 3/1 to win at Ceara (20th, bottom in league)? Might have a bet on btts at 9/10 but wondering if there’s a reason for this price

  172. Richard 9 years ago

Find Brazil really hard to call these days but gonna have a small stakes punt on the following

All games in Brazil Serie B

    Ceara vs Paysandu 11pm

Ceara are bottom (20th) of the table and have conceded 10 in their last 4 at home, conceding at least 2 in each game. The results were as follows

2-3 vs Mogi Mirim currently 19th who have scored 9 away in 10 games
1-2 vs Vitoria currently 1st who have scored 9 in in 10 awaygames
0-2 vs America Mineiro currently 4th who have scored 10 in 10 away games
4-3 vs Parana currently 14th who have scored 11 in 10 away games

Paysandu sit 2nd in the league and although they have only scored 8 in 10 away, they did manage 3 last time out in inflicting Botafogo’s (currently 3rd) only home defeat of the season and I think the odds are generous given Ceara’s consistency in conceding

    Paysandu over 1.5tg @ 3.40

    Boa vs Parana 00:30

    Bit more straightforward this one

Boa have scored twice in 3 of their past 4 home games against teams currently in 13th (conceded 14 in 10 away), 16th (conceded 15 in 10 away) , and 12th (conceded 11 in 11 away).

Parana have conceded 8 in their last 3 away conceding 2 against 4th, 2 against 10th and 4 against 20th

    Boa over 1.5 tg @ 2.00

    Luverdense vs ABC 00:30

Luverdense are in decent form at the moment having won 4 of their last 6 home league games , losing only to the current league leaders but they have conceded in 4 of these 6 games.

ABC are a team generally reliable for goals away from home as despite being 3rd bottom of the league, they have the joint best away attack. In fact all of their last 6 away have seen btts and 5 of them have seen over 2.5ftg as well.

I’ve gone on btts & over 2.5ftg @ 2.50 cos I’m going with a high risk treble for low stakes but btts is available at 1.90

I know the price sort of tells the story but do we think BTTS & Overs is realistic for Forfar/Dunfermline on Saturday?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

Jordan, always realistic with Dunfermline. But it was 3-0 at Forfar in the cup a couple of weeks ago although I’m sure Forfar had a man sent off.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Cheers Mr F. You’re correct too. In the 31st minute before Dunfermline scored any of their goals. Just trying to look ahead to the weekend with not much on the international front.

Apparantly paysandu have played 5 games in 11 days. They are exhausted and played only 48 hours ago.

Hull I don’t know how I completely missed your post, good write up! Paysandu are already 4/6 in play to score, going to try and get a grasp of how the game is going then maybe get on that. Good luck all on it

  182. Dom77 9 years ago

Yeah i just noticed that. I wonder why the odds are generous.

  183. -a-n-d-y- 9 years ago

    Ceara last games: 29th / 28th / 26th / 23rd / 21st Sep

    Paysandu last games: 29th / 26th / 23rd / 20th / 15th Sep

  184. Davros 9 years ago

Dom, Ceara have also played 5 in 11 days and also played 2 days ago, losing 2-0 to Atletico GO.

  185. Davros 9 years ago

Sorry, they lost 3-2 to Atletico. Should both be equally tired though?

  186. -a-n-d-y- 9 years ago

Paysandu have only scored in 2 of their last 5 aways in Serie B

Ceará have conceded 2+ in 4 of their last 5 homes in Serie B

Glad i only had a friendly point on paysander o1.5 tg,to be honest backed it a bit blindly without taking into consideration thise ammount of games.

Likewise dave, unfortunately I had a couple more points on them to score in play when it hit 5/6. Still a bit of time but not looking great. Should have been a little more suspicious with those odds!
