OWEN COYLE had a pop at bookies last week when Rangers were second favourites to win the William Hill Scottish Cup.

I wonder what he'd say now McBookie have installed the League One side as trophy favourites following Sunday's last-eight draw.

McBookie make Rangers 11-4 ahead of 3-1 Aberdeen while William Hill rate the Dons 3-1 in front of 4-1 Rangers.

Both sides were handed favourable ties with Aberdeen at home to Championship side Dumbarton and Rangers facing League Two survivors Albion Rovers at Ibrox.

Dundee United and ICT are 4-1 with McBookie who make Dundee Utd 11-2 and Raith 25-1.

Last-eight draw

Raith Rovers v St Johnstone

Aberdeen v Dumbarton

Stranraer or Inverness v Dundee Utd

Rangers v Albion Rovers

Think Aberdeen a cracking bet at 3/1

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

steve o, I think so too but it’s been a strange tournament so far. Paul Petrie makes a good point about both semi-finals being played at Ibrox with Hampden out of action.

  2. raaljaca 10 years ago

Complete and utter madness. Rangers could not live with this Aberdeen side. 3/1 Aberdeen? I am on!!!! Rangers, Aberdeen, St Johnstone and probably Dundee Utd in the semi’s, Rangers won’t make the final. No offence to Rangers fans but they are not good enough yet.

    • alva glen 10 years ago

One thing is certain Herts wont be in the final.

  3. Tony 10 years ago

Ral how can u say that when we havent played any of the spfl your young boys can do ok so how is their such a big difference

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Tony, just basing it on the times Rangers lost to Dundee Utd and Caley Thistle mate. Just think 11/4 is a terrible price. Aberdeen are playing some great football and at 3/1 are worth backing in my opinion.

  4. Tony 10 years ago

Backing aberdeen would be most peoples choice an to be totally honest a can c why they would. Rangers a think have came on a wee bit since they Games last season mate or so a like to think an we should c assuming they get past albion.

  5. raaljaca 10 years ago

Just at 3/1 Tony Aberdeen look huge mate.

  6. Tony 10 years ago

If u are a neutral surley most people would like to see a rangers v aberdeen final, it would ne a tasty affair with all the bad blood between us an them an prob even more so they cant have taunt us about our huge fall from top of scottish football. Took a long time for it to sink in, what could a do nothing am not a billionare or even a millionare

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Tony, it’s the one that would fill Parkhead and provide the best build-up.

  7. Tony 10 years ago

Ral its a good price mate, an a cant wish u luck for the obvious reason mate, the bookies will prob be worried? But a know its my team but we have that winning mentality better than any other team in scotland, a know we have been sacked to the bottom but its stI’ll rangers an we will win this cup its what we have an allways will be about, ano they are out but when u look back over the years celtic just dont seem to get over the line when it matters semis an finals this what makes me believe we will win it if am wrong a will appoligise

  8. minty 10 years ago

Any Nba tips tonight Andre or Stuey?

    • DeAndre 10 years ago

Theyre on the racing thread minty. good luck mate

  9. Tony 10 years ago

Off course paul a think it would be good for our game especially after the state rangers got into an hearts dumfermline,

  10. Harry 10 years ago

It’s karma Rangers are good for it.

  11. Tony 10 years ago

    Bell
    Faure mculloch moshni wallace
    Little black law tempelton
    Daly shiels
On top of thier game a think this team could beat any other team in scotland apart from prob celtic

  12. Tony 10 years ago

Karma we have payed for it harry boy

  13. Greg Browning 10 years ago

    Que the warm balls!

2/9 rangers and Aberdeen don’t meet in the semi!

  14. Steve The Pirate 10 years ago

Dundee United and ICT are 4-1 with McBookie who make Dundee Utd 11-2 and Raith 25-1.

Now it be a foolish chap indeed who takes United at 4/1, when he could take them at 11/2 with the same bookie, or was one of those teams supposed to be St Johnstone?

Rangers favourites? I’ve got more chance of pulling the little mermaid than they have of winning it.

    Ariel, mmmmmmmmm

  15. GrahamG 10 years ago

Rangers would leather hearts ral see yous next year :-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Possibly but we have an under 20 team at present whereas Rangers have a side with players on £8000+ a week and a manager on £16000 a week and still dropped points in the third tier ;)

  16. robert miller 10 years ago

guys come on… we can all talk about who will beat who.. but at the end of the day no one on this site knows what will happen till the players get out and perform… that’s what makes competing the best form of sport by a mile….

  17. Telmo 10 years ago

Won’t need to worry abt “the diseased seats” Aberdeen Dundee utd final would be a great footballing spectacle with 2 of the best footballing teams in the country . Rangers have somehow managed to get to the quarters (well semis) without even playing a good team !

  18. GrahamG 10 years ago

No rangers fault who they get drawn against. Can only beat the team put in front of yi. Aberdeen have played nobody they can’t help that either

  19. Davie-S 10 years ago

As a Rangers fan i think Aberdeen are a great bet at 3/1 then again i thought Celtic were a steal at 4/5 in the last round, the way things are going this season i wouldn’t count out Albion Rovers (conquers of Motherwell) going through this tie. The way i see it the Rangers players/team are playing with the knowledge the league is won, they are more or less big time players playing beneath their level due to lack of motivation, yes i think they could raise their game and give anyone in Scotland a game (celtic apart) i would still make any Premier league team favs to beat Rangers but wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if Rangers came out on top, it’s just the motivation they are needing as professional footballers..

    • alva glen 10 years ago

A Rangers fan that thinks Albion Rovers can beat us don’t think so.I will be all over -3 goals.

  20. Baldy45 10 years ago

Aberdeen and Dundee Utd would be a cracking final. Aberdeen look generous at 3/1 but Dundee Utd at 11/2 could be the best value. They have a trickier away tie (assuming Inverness get thru their replay) to negotiate but I would be confident as long as Yogi Hughes continues to mess things up for Inverness.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Baldy45, to be fair to Hughes he got Inverness to the League Cup Final with 9 men.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      OBJECTION!!!

  21. Bingo 7 10 years ago

tony, lewis McLeod would surely be in team in front of little. faure at right back is a problem area compared to our left back who is best in country. McLeod, black, law and templeton aint a bad midfield with shiels and daly up top! I think people are getting a wee bit carried away with Aberdeen and going by their cup records I wouldn’t be at all surprised if caley won the league cup. anyone who comes on and says rangers haven’t got a chance is talking nonsense in my opinion. if gers got utd or Aberdeen away I think we would prob have gone out but fancy us against anyone in Glasgow whether it will be ibrox in semi or parkhead in final.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Bingo 7, it’s fair to point out Aberdeen’s recent cup record but Derek McInnes has turned them round and made some decent signings. They pretty much cruised to the League Cup Final and beating Celtic at Parkhead will have given them a huge confidence boost. Dundee Utd on their day can challenge anyone in Scotland so they must be regarded as dark horses.

  22. Bingo 7 10 years ago

I agree, just think the fact rangers don’t have to leave Glasgow now if we were to win it could be a huge thing for us. id say Aberdeen, utd and gers have equal chance now. Aberdeen v rangers final defo would be most attractive final.

  23. Tony 10 years ago

Bingo a would have played mcleod before tempelton but he seems to be coming onto a game. Reason for little is hes bigger stronger an a think we would need that against a decent utd or aberdeen. A do believe if we had got them away we would have went out, but we never an hi ho hi ho its off to the next round we go an you could argue if we do the treble we will have without a doubt had a better season than our friends from the east. No matter how far down we went they no we know rangers wont go away easily.

  24. Tony 10 years ago

Ral this is rangers remember we need these calibre of players. An third division was last season. We have not dropped much this season. An next season is going to be intresting look foward to the challenge from your hearts boys

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Looking forward to it too Tony ;)

  25. Baldy45 10 years ago

Yes Inverness did well in extra-time but trust me it’s got little to do with Hughes. The man is a managerial disaster wherever he goes. He has sunk every side he’s been in charge of (apart from Falkirk) and I predicted when he took over from Butcher that they would plummet, might not even finish in the top 6, after looking like challenging for 2nd spot !!

  26. alva glen 10 years ago

Rangers have been made favs for one reason the bookies know punters are going to pile on Rangers so don’t want a big hit.

  27. alva glen 10 years ago

Not a lot of bookies are giving you 3/1 Aberdeen most are under that now making dons favs.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

alva glen, Aberdeen will be getting backed then. Nothing changes prices except weight of money.

  28. anton 10 years ago

11/4 Rangers is a massive lay for me with at least 3 more games for them to be beaten.

  29. Tony 10 years ago

I anton remember its albion rovers in the next game so u should be thinking about the semis or the final. Its highly unlikley albion will beat them.
