HIBS have waited a long time to win the Scottish Cup – 113 years in fact – but could this be their time?
Alan Stubbs’s side were handed a massive boost when Gary Anderson made the quarter-final draw this afternoon.
You could hear cries of “180” coming from Easter Road as the Championship outfit were paired at home to Spartans or Berwick – and that’s got to be the equivalent of a bye to the last four.
Hibs have been cut to to 7-1 fourth favourites to win the Cup by McBookie and their hopes were further boosted by Dundee United and Celtic being paired.
McBookie have pushed Celtic out from 4-6 to 4-5 while Inverness, who tackle Raith at home, are 10-3 second favourites ahead of the Tangerines at 6-1.
Paul Petrie, McBookie.com spokesman, said: “Celtic were handed the toughest possible tie and it now means there is a great chance for Inverness or even a Championship side to make the Final.”
McBookie outrights: 4-5 Celtic, 10-3 ICT, 6-1 Dundee Utd, 7-1 Hibs, 20-1 QoS, 25-1 Falkirk, 33-1 Raith, 1000-1 Bar.
