IT'S Cup day in France and there's a few promising ties when it comes to goals.
Ligue 1 strugglers St Etienne – 11 games without a win – hosts Ligue 2 high-fliers Nimes who've scored 12 in their last four and seen over 2.5 goals in 14 of 15.
Only one of St Etienne's previous eight have gone under 2.5 so it looks decent value at just above evens with Marathonbet for three goals or more.
Strasbourg also haven't been shy in coming forward with nine of 10 going over 2.5. They face a Dijon side one place above them in the top flight and who've had seven on the bounce going over. Same again pays 24-25 at Marathonbet.
In Spain, Villarreal can follow up back-to-back 1-0 away league wins with a home success when third-bottom Deportivo visit.
Villarreal are without a win in two at El Madrigal in the league but those defeats were to Sevilla and Barcelona and before that they won three on the spin and conceded just one in six.
The Yellow Submarines' defence is usally pretty watertight and while they're 8-13 at Skybet for the win I'm chancing them to take the points without conceding.
Poor travellers Deportivo have only one success in 13 league outings and have failed to net in five of their last six trips to Villarreal. So a home win to nil, while always a risky bet, is worth a look at almost 2-1.
