I DON’T like the early Saturday game but Aberdeen v Celtic really stands out in the both teams to score market.

It’s a top-of-the table clash that should be an absolute belter in front of a packed Pittodrie crowd.

Dons fans have suffered for years but Craig Brown’s side are putting a smile back on their faces and one man in particular is red-hot.

Niall McGinn has netted in each of last seven SPL outings and is trying to equal the club record against his old side.

Aberdeen netted four at St Mirren at the weekend and nine of the last 11 meetings between the sides have seen both score. Four of Celtic’s last six have seen both hit the target including home and away to Barcelona.

My second choice is Alloa v Brechin from the Second Division. I expect Alloa to win but they’ll need to be aware of a Brechin side who find their shooting boots in recent weeks.

Brechin have netted 15 in their last three, including a 7-2 win against Stenny, but have conceded 10 in five games.

Alloa recovered from conceding seven at Rangers to win 1-0 at Alloa but they key stat here is the fact the last four meetings have seen both score with over 3.5 goals in each game including a 3-1 win for the Wasps this season. And incredibly 10 of the last meetings have seen both score with two games seeing under four goals.

Next look at Berwick v Annan from the Third Division. Berwick suffered a 5-2 Scottish Cup defeat to Stenhousemuir in midweek so will be feeling sorry for themselves.

The result means their last five have witnessed both sides scoring – as have Annan’s previous five, producing 25 goals. Their last two matches have been 5-2 home wins and the two before that 2-2 away draws.

I’m sticking with the Third Division and adding Stirling v Elgin. Albion may be rooted to the foot of the table but have netted 11 in their last six – the problem is they’ve conceded the same number during that spell.

Elgin’s last six have seen both score with a total of 29 goals and it was 3-1 to the Highlanders when they met earlier this season.

Complete the line with the big Fife derby between Raith Rovers and Dunfermline. The Pars were rocked at the weekend when a good run was ended by a 5-1 defeat at leaders Partick Thistle and they have now conceded nine in four and netted 11 in five.

Rovers needed extra time to see off First Division rivals Airdrie in the Scottish Cup on Tuesday and six of their last seven have seen both score with 29 goals banged in.

Both teams to score

Aberdeen v Celtic (12.0)

Alloa v Brechin

Berwick v Annan

Stirling v Elgin

Raith v Dunfermiline

Paul I’m hoping Charlie Mulgre is going to pay for some of my Christmas presents this year. I’ve just backed him at 20/1 first goal with sporting bet (he is as short as 10/1 with Paddy Power) and anytime at 13/2 with same.

£40 first goal and £60 anytime (no last goalscorer available?) which is strange for a live game.

For my £100 if he scores first I get £1290 back or if he scores anytime ill get £450 back. He usually plays wella against his former team.

Chris, last scorer prices are exactly same as first scorer so no reason why they’re not up. Probably a mistake. Mulgrew first at 20s is a big price and should be a good game.

Hi see the perms bet how do you write that out and the stakes involved is is 6 bets @ £10 each or a total of £10 on the 6 bets.

Perm bets always confuse me lol

1plus2, Clarks has answered that one for me. If you look back a bit I put up a perm guide a couple of weeks ago.

      • 1plus2 6 years ago

I am on the skybet site and all i see under multiples is 4 fold accys and 5 fold accys.

wen i add £1 to 4 folds it comes up £34.73 and 5 fold is £56.11.

But is this bet only for phone betting or is it something i am doing wrong looking for it ? thx

1plus2, no the returns sound about right. Remember a straight tenner on a fivefold will pay more than if you split the stake between fours and fives. The only benefit to you is at least covering your stake for one wrong. But your total payout for five right will be a bit smaller.

          • 1plus2 6 years ago

Ok m8 so when you put up the bets and the stake, the total you could win is for £10 on the 5 team accy and if you want you can perm it as you please as you say in case 1 lets u down ?

1plus2, that’s right. To make it clear I could say the fivefold pays £ssssgs.

              • John 6 years ago

He has quite a decent record with the scottish games, maybe because their easier i don’t know, but his fivefolds are worth following

Aberdeen need to score 1st or it will be easy 3 points for Celtic. Will miss Hooper

      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Anton, maybe not. When Celtic scored first against St Johnstone we all thought they’d win but didn’t. A lot again depends on how concentrated they are on this game with a Champions League trip to Benfica ahead.

  7. anton 6 years ago

True. Aberdeen are usually mince against Celtic. With Celtic missing players could be a good game. All depends what Aberdeen turn up. A fancy tony watt anytime score for Celtic

      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Anton, it’s a much improved Aberdeen side from recent years and with Niall McGinn banging them in they’ll be confident. I know their record is poor against Celtic but I reckon this will be a close game.

  8. anton 6 years ago

Should be close go for a 2 each draw if Aberdeen start good

  9. anton 6 years ago

Paul don’t usually beat big money. As I can’t afford it with having 2 kids any idea good bets a could put on to try get some winners

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Anton, it doesn’t work that way. I can’t give you a win just because you want one. And at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what the stake is the odds are the same so you should pick your bet and go with what you can afford.

  10. anton 6 years ago

Bet big money even no wonder a dont win can’t even spell bet

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Anton, you’ve picked seven pretty short favourites so according to the prices they should all win but when you put seven together you are increasing your chances of one letting you down.

  13. Tommo 6 years ago

I like the look of Chris Guy’s man Charlie Mulgrew to score against his old club.

Also, with Leigh Griffith’s up against his former club, Dundee i like the look of him to net two or more 6/1 with Coral. He is on a great run as Mr F has pointed out previously and he has netted twice or more on several occassions. I read that Dundee have conceded plenty penalties this season too and Griffith’s is the Hibees spot kick man so another added factor to consider. 22/1 for the hat trick with Bet365 is tasty too

      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Tommo, I’m certainly looking at Griffiths who like Mulgrew (and McGinn) is facing one of his former clubs.

  14. Reece 6 years ago

Anton a small stakes 10 fold on both teams to score picking 4 games from the prem and 6 from the championship always look for a good attacking away team (Everton, man u, Chelsea , Blackburn, middlesboro, Watford ,)
Keep calm and pray for goals

  15. anton 6 years ago

a c what your saying. Don’t really want to start praying for goals. Unless it’s ma own team, or a game am tuned into. A decent 1. Love a punt. Need to give it up right enough cheers

  16. Stevo 6 years ago

Mr Fixit, any idea why odds for Aberdeen Celtic btts are so high (10/11 on willhill)?

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Stevo, the price is relatively high because Celtic are short-priced favourites. Bookies believe Celtic will win so don’t necessarily think Aberdeen will score. Historically both teams have scored but that doesn’t reflect the odds when one team is so short to win. It’s like Barcelona games, the btts price is always high, even though they have been conceding goals recently.

  17. Stevo 6 years ago

Thanks for the explanation mr fixit. Have lost a lot recently and am going to take a break for a few months. Am tempted to place one final big bet – double on arsenal spurs and aberdeen celtic btts

  18. anton 6 years ago

Cheers. Need to bet when a think thier is a winner to be had. It’s like the lottery. It’s pot luck. If you win result. You lose you lose. Love to win nobody is a winner with the bookies

    • John 6 years ago

My local bookie has 3 big cars so it’s not easy beating them…but as the saying goes “luck often visits a fool but never sits down with one”, meaning it’s wise to bet now and again, i used to do it alot but just weekends now :-)
