IT was all Saints day in the SPL last week as St Johnstone and St Mirren both won.

This Saturday they meet at McDiarmid Park and there is every chance of a goalfest.

Last week St Mirren were involved in a crazy 5-4 win against Ross County while the Perth Saints won 3-1 at Dundee.

St Johnstone have won their last four games but not kept a clean sheet while the Paisley men’s last two in the SPL have featured 13 so start your line here.

I was tempted to add Motherwell v Dundee Utd where both have scored in the past eight meetings which have averaged over four goals a game. However, I’ve been put off by United’s failure to net in their last four league games while Well have drawn a blank in their last two against Celtic and Rangers.

So instead I’m taking a look at Kilmarnock v Aberdeen. Both sides’ last three SPL matches have seen both sides score but two of the last three meetings would have answered know to our question.

In Division One I’m looking at Morton v Partick Thistle. The Jags’ 100 per cent record was busted last week but their unbeaten run is intact as they head for Greenock.

Morton have netted 11 in winning their last four so are in good form and will fancy their chances of getting a result against the leaders. They could but more likely is a goal as Partick have conceded in their last three.

Ayr let us down last week as they kept a clean sheet against Brechin but I’m returning to Somerset for their match against Albion Rovers. On-form Ayr have rattled in eight in their last three but their defence should find it tougher against an Albion side who have netted 10 in three matches, including a 4-4 draw with Stenhousemuir.

Complete the line with Peterhead v Berwick which has incredibly saw 18 goals in the last two meetings, a 9-2 and 4-3. Both sides are struggling a bit but Peterhead have bagged goals in five of their last six and Berwick in all of their previous six.

Both teams to score

St Johnstone v St Mirren

Kilmarnock v Aberdeen

Morton v Partick Thistle

Ayr v Albion Rovers

Peterhead v Berwick

John, I look at last six games for guide, previous meetings and current standings. Also try to check team news but it’s not always easy especially down the leagues.

really fancy my home town team Ayr against an Albion team that have lost 8 goals in therr last 2. did a double with Ayr and Liverpool last week and it came good. the shop price of 8/11 has gone.

Check out Soccerway too. It’s an excellent site for all kinds of stats and such.

John, could be but look at head to heads. Last six have produced a total of six goals, including three 0-0s.

So don’t you think that sort of statistic would put you off having it on your fivefold?
