SCOTLAND: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

OUR Scottish line was wiped out by the weather last week so hoping for better luck this Saturday.

I’m kicking off with the SPL clash between St Johnstone and Dundee United.

This will be a hard-fought Tayside derby between two sides who know the way to goal. Saints’ last five have featured both to score and up top they have Cillian Sheridan back from injury to renew his deadly partnership with top scorer Fran Sandaza.

It was 3-3 when the sides last met at McDiarmid and you wouldn’t rule out another goal spree from the Arabs after the way they demolished Rangers at Ibrox last weekend.

Their 2-0 Scottish Cup win was impressive and attacking players such as Johnny Russell, Jon Daly and Gary Mackay-Steven offer a huge threat.

Another side who have been impressive in cups this season is Falkirk and they head for Morton. Traditionally, it’s been a fixture for goals with the last two at Cappielow being 2-2 and 3-2.

Falkirk have netted in five of their last six including that impressive semi-final defeat to Celtic and will fancy their chances at a Morton side who conceded six at Motherwell in the Scottish Cup.

Next take the Second Division clash between Brechin and Airdrie. The last eight meetings between the side have featured both scoring with a total of 30 goals.

So history is on our side but so is the present with their two matches this season totalling seven goals. Four of Brechin’s last six have been both to score winners and there have been 10 goals in Airdrie’s last two.

My fourth choice is Peterhead v Stranraer from Division Three. The last six meetings have produced 24 goals and both teams have netted in the clashes this season.

Peterhead have moved away from the foot of the table with four wins out of six while Stranraer’s last six games have featured 29 goals.

Complete the line with Annan v Elgin from the Third Division. Both have scored in four of the last six meetings and Elgin are closing the gap on their rivals.

Annan’s last two home games have been 2-2 v East Stirling and 2-3 v Queen’s Park while Elgin hit two at Stranraer in a 5-2 defeat.

Both teams to score

St Johnstone v Dundee Utd

Morton v Falkirk

Brechin v Airdrie

Peterhead v Stranraer

Annan v Elgin

Perm any 4 and all 5 (6 bets)

I’ll post odds when it’s confirmed all games are on
