I HAD no joy on Friday with my nap finishing fifth and my other tip beaten by a head.

I'm now 8.89pts down for August and have two 16-1 each-way picks advised for Saturday.

Well done all winners and let's hear your latest tips and chat.

Johnb's Saturday Tips

  • Ascot 1:05
  • Willytheconqueror 16-1 NAP bet365 (0.5pt eachway 1/4 odds 1-2-3)

Fourth in this race last year and that was on good to firm ground which makes the result look even better as he prefers cut in the ground which he gets here and he is 1lb lower than last year. He has worked up into quite a good horse contesting group races and even the group one Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot which was won by Lady Aurelia, I am expecting a big run here on ground that will be perfect for him

  • Ascot 1:40
  • Wolfcatcher 16-1 NB bet365 (0.5pt eachway 1/4 odds 1-2-3)

Another big priced horse in Wolfcatcher and another horse that will like the soft ground, granted his form hasn’t been great but he did look better last time over course and distance and runs off a 2lb lower mark and this is a weaker race than last time, again I am expecting a big run

  • 0.5pt eachway double 288-1 bet365

Johnb's Antepost Tips

  • 2018 1000 Guineas – CLEMMIE 25-1 bet365

    What is the reason for the silks at ascot today? They all seem to be different than usual with the same downwatd chevron style. Thanks.

    THE DUBAI DUTY FREE SHERGAR CUP – HOW IT WORKS

    At stake for the winning team is the magnificent Shergar Cup, which depicts the mighty 1981 Derby and King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner. It was graciously provided by His Highness The Aga Khan, who owned Shergar.
    Points will be awarded to the first five horses to finish in each of the six Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup races as follows –
    winner: 15 points; second: 10 points;
    third: 7 points;
    fourth: 5 points;
    fifth: 3 points.
    If there is a non-runner which cannot be replaced by a reserve, 4 points will be awarded both to the team and jockey missing out on the ride. The team with the most points after the six races have been run will receive the Shergar Cup at the closing ceremony.
    If a dead-heat occurs in a race, the points for the two places are added together, divided by two and shared between the two jockeys/teams.
    If there is a tie for the Team or Silver Saddle competitions, there will be a countback on the number of winners and the team/jockey with the most winners will be adjudged the winner overall; if they are still level, then second places will be counted, then if necessary third places, then if necessary fourth places. If they are still level, there will be joint winners.
    The six races are worth a boosted total of £270,000 in prize money, paid down to 10th (last) place in all six races. With no entry fees to pay and £500 in number cloth sponsorship per contest for ITV-televised races, these are the only races run during the year in Britain when every owner represented by a runner should be guaranteed to, at the very least, cover their costs.

    Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle
    The jockey amassing the most individual points will take home an additional £3,000 plus the “Allistair Haggis Silver Saddle” trophy.
    David Flores in 2001, Richard Hughes in 2002, Kieren Fallon in 2003, Weichong Marwing in 2004, Ryan Moore in 2006, Hugh Bowman in 2007, Gerald Mosse in 2008, Richard Hughes for a second time in 2009, Fran Berry in 2010, Paul Hanagan in 2011, Matthew Chadwick in 2012 and Gerald Mosse in 2013, Olivier Peslier in 2014 and Sammy-Jo Bell in 2015 are the past winners of the Silver Saddle.

    In its current format, the competition has six flat races of differing lengths and classifications, all run as handicap races:

    Dash (5 furlongs, for 3-year-olds or older, Class 2)

    Stayers (2 miles, for 4-year-olds or older, Class 2)

    Challenge (1 mile 4 furlongs, for 4-year-olds or older, Class 3)

    Mile (1 mile, for 4-year-olds or older, Class 2)

    Classic (1 mile 2 furlongs, for 3-year-olds, Class 3)

    Sprint (6 furlongs, for 3-year-olds, Class 2)

    Each jockey will ride in five races
