Haydock 2.25
Tasleet was advised to Racing Club members last week, he was marked down for this race by me as soon as it looked like the ground would be in his favour. He just loves the mud, he was last in the July Cup but the ground was against him and if Harry Angel runs here then the ground can help Tasleet reverse placings. Conditions were pretty bad at York in the group 2 Duke Of York Stakes when Tasleet beat Brando and The Tin Man so he should be able to beat them again.
Haydock 3.0
Confessional is a horse I have advised before and I had to stick with the wet conditions at Haydock as Confessional is another horse that will love it. He has run twice at Haydock on soft ground and was second both times beaten a head and a neck, one of those seconds was in this race last year and he comes here on a 2lb lower mark, with conditions to suit I think he is the one to beat.

I thought conditions were going to be a lot worse than they are, should be fine for Churchill but there is meant to be more rain, if it gets really soft it could bring bigger priced horses Taj Mahal, Success Days and Zhukova into the reckoning

Risking a trip to Haydock today, glad to see JohnB fancy Tasleet as I’ve backed it midweek at 8/1. Was between Confessional and Soie D’leau in the 3.00H but plumped for Soie D’leau. @7/1. Won this race last year from 2lb lower won’t mind the ground and as SDS on board. I’m also keen on Benbatl@4/1 in the 3.35H- won a Group3 at Royal Ascot over 1m 2f, dropping to a mile here but it’s Stamina should really come into force at the end in this Heavy ground.
