WEALTH TAX landed me a nice return on Thursday with the double-stake tip winning at 13-8.
My other pick finished second so it was a 1.25pt profit for the day and I have another joint nap/NB advised on Friday and it's a horse close to my heart.

Johnb's Friday Tips
- Wolverhampton 2:20 – Hungarian Rhapsody 9-4 NAP/NB bet365(double stake)
The main bet for Friday can only be one horse and it’s a horse I have been waiting to back, waiting for the right moment and that moment is now. Hungarian Rhapsody is a Racing Club bet and the winnings are being used to fund another horse for the club.
Hungarian Rhapsody is the standout on form and was extremely unlucky last time. I thought the 7f might have come too early for this horse last time but on looking at the race I think I was wrong. With a horse staying on late over the extended 7f you would think a drop to 6f wouldn’t suit but the circumstances were that Hungarian Rhapsody was outpaced at a crucial stage last time. It wasn’t because the horse lacked the ability to quicken straight away but because he found himself in a pocket with nowhere to go, as he eased off the rest quickened but he did well to run on late on for fourth.
Exceed and Excel progeny go well on the Tapeta surface and although the trainer form isn’t great at the moment Hungarian Rhapsody should win this, at time of writing this Bogsnog is being well backed.
- Haydock 7:15 – Veejay 2-1 bet365
This horse was also unlucky last time and could have won with a bit of luck. Veejay went into the Goodwood race unbeaten but was badly hampered and lost all chance. His form before that reads well, he won at this course on his second outing when he beat Al Barg, a horse I tipped last month and franked the form and Veejay should get back on course with another win.

My recent form has been dreadful to say the least so took a break and will only post if i really fancy something for the foreseeable future rather than putting up selections for the sake of it at least until things start to turn around.

Won as he liked on debut staying on strongly over 6f. The extra furlong today will surely be of benefit based on that first run and im sure theres plenty of improvement still to come. The 4/1 available with paddys looks generous

Got a big decision to make over the next couple of weeks
do I go for a nicely bred unraced 2yo filly or a mare with good family ties in foal to a group one winner which we can breed from for a few years to come
I do like the idea of the mare but not many people are willing to invest knowing that it’s dead money till a Colt or filly is two years old

Hungarian Rhapsody blew the start but finished like a train so one to still keep the faith with…
Yeah the start didn’t help as Hungarian Rhapsody is usually raced close to the pace also hung left in the straight, finished well when Costello got the horse straightened
Relight My Fire wins nicely 9/2 happy with that start.

Fourth in this race last year and that was on good to firm ground which makes the result look even better as he prefers cut in the ground which he gets here and he is 1lb lower than last year, he has worked up into quite a good horse contesting group races and even the group one Kings Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot which was won by Lady Aurelia, I am expecting a big run here on ground that will be perfect for him

Another big priced horse in Wolfcatcher and another horse that will like the soft ground, granted his form hasn’t been great but he did look better last time over course and distance and runs off a 2lb lower mark and this is a weaker race than last time, again I am expecting a big run
