BARNSLEY survived a stern test of their promotion credentials in midweek when they kept Sunderland at bay to gain what could be a crucial point.
A defeat would have seen the Black Cats, who have a game in hand, move just a point behind the Tykes but Barnsley held firm to preserve their four-point advantage.
Daniel Stendel's men have now gone 12 games without defeat, winning eight of them, and that's the kind of form that could well take them back to the Championship.
