THE difference between a profit and loss on Saturday came down to West Ham and West Ham alone.
In hindsight – and if anyone knows where I can buy some – I put too much faith in the Hammers but those bad bookies dangled a carrot with a best price 7-5 at Sunderland.
We all know what happened and after getting back to 2-2 at Sunderland it's pity they didn't find a winner against 10 men. The Hammers beat me for two Super Singles and an aways treble with Stoke and Luton winning – so as much as 17 points. As I said last month one goal can make a huge difference.
Thankfully Ross County netted in the final minute to bring up my 11-2 Scottish both to score treble so the loss for the day was 3.5pts.
Hearts beat my Top Treble and I was there to see it. They should have beaten Kilmarnock while I was a Colchester goal short of bringing up the English btts treble.
It was good to see Desmond land his two 2s double thanks to West Ham and Luton and Greg Browning's nap was a belter – over 2.5 goals at Peterborough where it finished 5-3. He put up six over 2.5 goals tips and four won – I posted six btts tips and five won. Are goals the way to go – it looks like it.
Prolific poster Ryan Allan also had a great day with a 50-1 winner and some other good tips.
I had a few scoops at Tynecastle so while I've made my Sunday shortlist I'm not putting up tips until the morning when I've got a clear head.
It's a big day in the Premier League with Arsenal facing Man Utd, Everton taking on Liverpool in the Merseyside derby and Spurs travelling to Swansea.
In Scotland Celtic bid to close the gap on leaders Aberdeen to on point after the Dons suffered a stunning 5-1 loss at home to St Johnstone. That result made Greg even happier than his nap success.
Atletico Madrid take on Real Madrid in La Liga and there's a big card in Italy plus games all over the Continent.
For my Super Single I'm taking Greg's advice and picking a goals bet. I've been doing a 2+ top of the pots table and Basel feature on that. Today the Swiss leaders face bottom dogs Zurich and while they look a decent bet at 11-10 with BetVictor I'm taking Basel to score over 1.5 goals at the slightly lower price of 4-5 at Coral.
All stats suggest an away win with both scoring and Basel 2+. That's happened in the last six league meetings between the sides with Basel scoring 20 goals in those matches. With the stats and form so strong I'm making it a 5pts Super Single.
I'm posting a Daily Double of PSG and Schalke. PSG should beat a Marseille side without a win in four with the minimum of fuss. The Paris side have netted 10 in their last three matches and won five in a row at home to Marseille.
Schalke made it six wins in a row with a dynamic display against Asteras in midweek. Franco di Santo hit a hat-trick and Jan-Klaas Huntelaar chipped in with his usual goal. Cologne have won on in six and while they beat Schalke away last season their three previous visits ended in deefat with 10 goals conceded.
PSG-Schalke is my only WDW bet today and that will please some people. I had missed day yesterday so no time to do write-ups for the big English games or Hamilton v Celtic. Daily Record readers will know my tip for the Scottish game was both to score and of course that came in early.
If pushed I'd go Everton draw no bet against Liverpool and Man Utd not to lose at Arsenal and the Madrid derby has the feel of a low-score draw.

It was a slightly bizarre but profitable Saturday for Bobreaksbookies despite both of my main doubles losing, as my 4/1 “Tasty Treble” and 50/1 “Ambitious Acca” both landed to make up for earlier disappointments.
I’ve got lots of doubles and trebles to try and I will post all my selections shortly.

Final Verdict – Very tough to call – Sit on the fence
I should leave this out of my best bets because of my anger with Arsenal continually breaking my bets but BTTS has to have a good chance considering both sides leaky defence of late but I don’t necessarily expect this to be a particularly high scoring fixture with both sides desperate to take something from the game. It could go either way and an early goal would be decisive in deciding the outcome of this fixture.
I expect a somewhat cagey start to the match with Arsenal trying to take control of the midfield with the visitors happy to sit in and look to counter with the pacy Martial and Memphis in attack and with both sides not keeping many clean sheets lately, we can expect BTTS @4/6 to have a very good chance here even if it’s a particularly high scoring fixture.
Laurent Koscielny will be a big loss for Arsenal and if they repeat the shambles of a display produced against Olympiakos then it could be a long day for the Gunners but you just never know what team is going to show up with Arsenal these days and they have only lost 3 of their last 38 at home in the PL.
Arsenal are just 1/1 even money to win here and I really am surprised to see Man Utd as big as 14/5 here, especially considering the vulnerabilities displayed by Arsenal this season (what else is new) and the absence of Koscielny really could prove decisive with Mertesacker and Gabriel hardly inspiring confidence.
Still I fancy this one could end up even with BTTS likely @4/6 but I’m not picking a winner with the Arsenal unpredictability factor weighing heavily. The one thing you can predict with Arsenal is that they will be brilliant at times, and defensively naive at others so for me, it means BTTS @4/6 although it wouldn’t surprise me to see this fixture go over 2.5 goals with Man Utd big at 14/5 to win.

Stats can only take you so far, sometimes you have to look at the match on a separate basis and go with your gut feel! Like I said both sides have enough quality to find the net against leaky defences and with 7 of the last 9 seeing both teams score, it bodes well for goals today!
For my NB double, All 4 teams are in about the goals this season and both have extremely strong H2H with BTTS scoring in both matches likely, that should lead us to goals

I’ve backed Schalke to win and you would expect them to score 2 but I wouldn’t put the house on it given that they’ve only scored 2 or more in 4 of their last 12 at home

I do wonder y u put tip up so early though. Know u try show punters good odds before they get slashed. But I personally would never actually put a bet on so early….anything can happen in a wk. Whole teams have even hot viruses before which have cost them the game.

I even adjusted the style of the previews to make them easier to consume but at the end of the day, I’m not backing a bet unless I have about 5 convincing reasons and that’s why I provide the analysis in that form and I won’t change that. It gets easier with every passing week because the stats for the season are building up nicely now and form is really coming into play.

Sorry Jordan, you really couldn’t argue that “Arsenal had nothing after their 3 goals” Come on mate, Arsenal horsed United for 20 minutes then sat in and protected their lead very comfortably. You had 2 decent chances and that was it.
Arsenal were top notch from start to finish. They began the game like Liverpool of 2 years ago was amazing tempo and energy, then theyand finished the game like Chelsea of last season. If they could play like that every week then they would easily be champions this season while United played like a bottom half side who were content not to concede more goals.
I remember United of 5 -10 years ago when they would always comeback or at least make a really good fist at it but nothing, absolutely nothing of the sort today.

I’m sure when he took over at Dortmund they were no near the level they are at now. You’re spot on with the attendance figures though but that doesn’t mean your a big club worldwide. Look at Newcastle who get 40-50,000 attendances but are only a big club in the north east of England. Outside the UK they are a small club
