THE Swiss Indoors quarter-finals serves up a potential humdinger today with Marin Cilic taking on Rafa Nadal.
Cilic has been in good form recently, winning a title in Moscow and not dropping a serve in his last five matches although the opposition wasn't exactly top quality. Nadal is no longer the force he was but has at least steadied the ship after a season of struggle.
The fast indoor courts are suited to Cilic's game and I reckon he can bag the win at 39-29 with Marathonbet against Unibet's 10-13 favourite.

They now have a short week on Thursday night at home to the Dolphins who blew the Texans out 41-0 in the half, but only managed 3 points in the second half with the Texans scoring 26 points? Evening Guys, European Darts Evening Session
A cracking night of action ahead as some of the big boys take to the Oche, my guy MVG is the reigning champion and is 2/1 with the sponsors Unibet. Regulars know I am a MVG guy and he as got the top half of the draw, avoiding the bottom half which contains Taylor, Wade, Anderson, Smith, Lewis and Barney.
Having a look at the matches I should stress stakes should be kept to a minimum until tomorrow as it is only the best of 11 legs, so it gives the underdogs a chance.
Two standout games for me is the all Dutch affair between Klaasen – Barney & Wade – Jenkins. Barney is slipping down the rankings and was out of sorts in Dublin. Klaasen is flying at the moment, he reached the quarter finals of the Grand Prix and since then reached the quarter finals and final on the tour. Bookies have RVB odds on and while he may win, I cant touch it at those odds, if Klaasen comes out the traps fast I think he will win over this distance. He is 6/5 Boylesport
The James Wade – Terry Jenkins is a tough one to call, again over the short format I would if pushed go that last years finalist Jenkins. A bet I do like is Jenkins to have most 180s. Wade is a solid scorer but not a heavy scorer, he hits a lot of 140s. Jenkins can be a bit erratic, in Dublin he had a host of darts going in the 5 bed. I am hoping he as tightened that up and looks a value bet to hit the most 180s at 1/1 Paddy Power.
Mensur Suljovic is playing great darts at the moment, he dumped Gary Anderson out the world Matchplay then at the Grand Prix he made the semi finals beating Wade, Whitlock and Van Der Voort on the way. He is an tough player to beat with his style and the game wont suit Chizzy who loves to get on with it. I will say it again the short format gives Suljovic a big chance, and I think it will be a close game. I like O9.5 legs at 11/10 Skybet.

Estonia based TTU KK are underdog here against the Kazakhs of Atyrau Barsy with PP offering a tempting 15/8 for TTU KK on the ML, but I see this as a very close, low scoring game. Both teams are coming off a poor start in the Baltic league but TTU KK should show more promise with home court advantage.
Atyrau have lost both opening games by smaller margins which may indicate a slight advantage with regards to form but I wouldn’t underestimate TTU here as they are more than capable of winning this. Very tempted by the ML but a cautious approach to the start of the season is advised….

Warriors have won 9 from 10 meetings, 3 of 4 in houston and 7 of the 10 they’ve won by double digits.
Starting their campaigns this season the warriors cruised to a 16 point win ove the pelicans, 111-95 at home while houston faced a surprise defeat at home, going down to the nuggets 85-105.
On this basis I was tempted to go with the Warriors on a double digit spread but it’s early days yet and a more cautious approach seems to be the sensible option.

Shaun, nothing to worry about at all mate. Basketball spreads will move all day based on what punters go for. Its the Nugget spread which has affected the price. I originally just wanted them on the ML with the SPurs alternate handicap but didn’t like Skybets markets.

Two weeks ago at the Lambeau field, Phillip Rivers broke all kinds of single game records for the San Diego Chargers and very nearly pulled off a 4th quarter comeback against my Green Bay Packers with one of the most decimated offensive lines in the NFL. He attempted 65 passes with 43 completions for 503 yards which tied 16th place on the NFL all time single game passing yards list.
His main target for the afternoon was wide receiver Keenan Allen who hauled in 14 receptions from 15 targets for a ridiculous 157 yards. The worst part is, Allen left the field in the third quarter with an injury so who knows how many yards Rivers and Allen could have added if he played the whole game. Allen stands at 6 ft 2, and the Packers only have one corner that stands prouder than 5 ft 11 in rookie LaDarius Gunter who has only seen 5 defensive snaps all season. Hayward, Shields, Randall, Rollins and Goodson are all 5 ft 11, something that the Packers obviously see as a good height for a corner when drafting, but its quite clear it doesn’t work against vertical threats.
Demariyus Thomas, Peytons number one go to receiver (could argue Sanders is equally favourable but Thomas has seen the more targets) stands at 6 ft 3 and can do it all. Stretch you down the field, burn you in the slot, catch a screen and take it for 20 yards after the catch. He is one of the best yet underrated receivers in the NFL with names like Megatron, Bryant, Brown and Jones usually coming before him. But there is no doubt that he is is one of the Broncos key men on offense.
Averaging 11 yards per reception and 87.8 yards per game, I will be shocked if Gary Kubiak hasn’t watched the footage of Rivers and Allen lighting up our secondary and has some sort of game plan to get the same production on Sunday night. The Packers are being favourited by 2.5 points and as a fan of them I can say with confidence that we could be picking up our first loss of the season at the Mile High where the air is thin in Mannings back garden. The key to the Broncos success has been their defense this year, but if the bookies have it right as a tough fought out game, and the Packers as outright winners, that’ll mean Manning will have to get that ball in the air with their run game averaging a league second worst of 85 yards per game on the ground.
