THERE wasn't much to look at on Thursday but I managed to dig out a winning treble.

It was a fairly safe bet thanks to Udinese not to lose and over 1.5 goals in the two Dutch Cup ties.

Greg Browning only did an over series bet for members and that landed before half-time.

There are a few more games to look at on Friday and I've come out with just one bet after finishing off my Daily Record articles for Saturday.

QPR are at home to Brentford in the Championship and shouldn't lose while Sociedad travel to Leganes in Serie A. I'n tempted by Sociedad but they're not great travellers and could be a draw.

Borussia Monchengladbach tackle Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and while Borussia's home record is fantastic they have injury problems and vould have on eye on a vital Champions League tie against Celtic on Tuesday. Eintracht have improved and Gladbach look a little short.

PSG are at Lille in French Ligue 1 and again are a little on the short side at 1-2 but should bounce back from last week's 0-0 draw at home to Marseille with a win.

Benfica and Sporting are in action in Portugal and there are League of Ireland games including champions Dundalk who are again likely to be weakened.

I'm starting the treble with both to score at St Patrick's v Derry. St Pat's beat Dundalk 5-2 on Tuesday and both have scored in both of these sides' last six.

Add Benfica -1 at home to Pacos Ferreira. Unbeaten Benfica have won their last six at home to Pacos by more than one and their last five in the league by at least two.

Already put up reasoning for the Bolivian Night Owl but it may well pay to have a look at this one kicking of at 1.10 in Buenos Aires…

RIVER PLATE VS. UNIÓN SANTA FE:

River invariably dominate at home and certainly have the bragging rights over Sant Fe – the H2Hs stretch back sometime so can’t be used as a huge indicator but it’s worth noting that RP have scored at least in all but 1 of the last 7 meetings.

River’s last 7 home games have yielded 1-4-1-4-2-2-3 team goals and there’s every chance tonight should extend that tally.

Santa Fe aren’t in the best shape domestically and have conceded 2 and 3 goals on their two most recent away trips.

    Two selections:

    RIVER PLATE OVER 1.5 TGS…10/11

    RIVER PLATE OVER 2.5 TGS…11/4

Good luck to all on a late shift ?

  2. HullShaker 7 years ago

Bit of a gap between 1st and 2nd goal but glad to see it go in and time for s 3rd yet!

    River Plate 1.5 TGS…10/11

Hi Mr F. Well done on your picks yesterday.
Question…will Greg be moving over to members only section or will he still be providing tips for free section of the site? I always keep an eye for his selections and was disappointed there was none up under your post on free section

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

As has been said Greg is doing an over series for members only.
The rest of his tips – his usual ones – will remain free for all to see.
But remember he doesn’t put up tips every day so don’t be disappointed if you don’t see them on a particular night.

  12. HullShaker 7 years ago

Glad a few got on the Chile picks and it was a good night with that and the Jamaican near 3/1.

What wasn’t so great was falling into a dribbling coma-sleep knowing my Bolivian ‘unders’ bet had come through at a great price then waking up to see it hadn’t…the barstewards only went and got a 3rd in injury time ?…unbelievable Jeff.

Consolation being the ‘ win to nil’ 6/5 was still a winner and well worth noting for future home games featuring Petrolera.

For anyone thinking of following the unders market as a regular theme, I strongly recommend some music to go along with the games; perhaps a little Radiohead or even Leonard Cohen would be perfect…

  13. tomt 7 years ago

Very straightforward Dutch double of over 2.5 goals in the Oss and Achilles games pays exactly evens with bet365 and stands an excellent chance.

A double of Den Bosch to score twice at home to Utrecht Reserves and league leaders Jong PSV to score at Telstar also pays evens with 365.

A long shot treble of BTTS & 2.5 at Achilles and Den Bosch and over 3.5 goals at Oss pays 6.22 and is worth a smaller stake.

Morning Gents – Aussie A League

Interesting match up this between Melbourne City and Adelaide. City have had a flying start to the season scoring goals galore but have only managed two clean sheets so far. Adelaide on the other hand have had a poor start but as pointed out by others, have still managed to find the net in every game.

I’m taking a different take on this game after noticing Adalaides verocious appetite for corners. They average 8.33 a match and City concede an average of 4.33. Adalaides corner line is 4.5 which is a line they have covered in every game this season. City have only conceded less than this line twice, against Victory and Perth, but they are the two bottom sides in the average corners table!

So, given this is City’s 3rd game in 8 days, and there may well be some weary clearances and tired legs etc, and Adalaides penchant for nabbing a goal a game coupled with the fact they haven’t played since last Saturday and should be chomping at the bit, I will be on the following double.

    Adalaide over 4.5 TC’s & City no clean sheet @ 1.35/1

    Good luck folks

Well done a good night Hull, i’m on days this week so have missed out.

Once again i am visiting my friends over in Kuwait, it’s top v bottom and goals should not be a problem for Al Qadsia, kicks off at 15:30, one to look out inplay for team goals, should be at least 3. Will double them up with this mornings game from Australia, goals are guaranteed here.

Looking ahead to Saturday. Manchester United should make easy work of Burnley who are lacking a bit of class. I fancy Manchester City to get back to winning ways with a comfortable win at WBA. Complete the treble with high flying Newcastle away to Preston, Preston are on a good run of form at home as are Newcastle away from home, Newcastle should make it two wins against Preston within a few days to stay top of the championship.

    *****Repost from yesterday****

    Melbourne city vs Adelaide

Absolutely agree with Jordans tip on the game with over 2.5 btts and the form that Melbourne are in you can’t knock the 21/10 odds on that and 2-1 correct scoreline at 15/2 on small stakes could be a little tempting. I said the other day that that Brandans 10/3 atgs was nuts, I held back from even mentioning brattan as a goalscorer as I see him more as a provider but at 5/1 atgs before the last game and being one of there 4 main threats still seems nuts but hey who am I to complain about that. The obvious and it has to be is Fornarolli, he’s not quite at his best yet but it will come and it’s still early days and evens for him to score anytime considering he is the penalty taker is quite generous. Brandon is the one screaming at me at 3/1 anytime, he is like city’s alexis! In and out of the game sometimes but forget him at your peril. Joint top goalscorer and scored the second in the last Melbourne derby.

Take your pick of any of these

    Anytime goalscorer

    Fornaroli 1/1
    Brandon 3/1
    Cahill 7/4
    Brattan 9/2

Great odds I would say, I’ll be going for.

    Melbourne win btts 21/10 *****Win****

And a little side bet on

    Fornaroli atgs evens ***** Win*****
    Brandon atgs 3/1

Could somebody please tell me why Plymouth are 11/10 at home to Colchester do they have injuries or something

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

I think it’s just because it’s League Two. While Plymouth should win the lower down the ladder you go the less consistent teams are.

    • philwindy 7 years ago

Being a home grown Green Army fan, I can only see a Plymouth win on the card’s. They look stronger and fitter than last season, where they lost in the play-off final to Wimbledon ?

That has maybe been a blessing in disguise for Derek Adams players.

They maintained the services of Carey, which is the best bit of business they did all summer.

When Argle win, it brings a bigger fan base from the family fan’s and puts bums on seats. Home park is a hood stadium and the Green Army will make it hard work for the Colcester boy’s.

Slew is finding form and is a likely ATGS.

      I hope this helps @cashier73

How far are the ground and the town centre from the railway station. And are they in the same direction.
And am I likely to see any goals ?
You have just re employed the Wally which isn’t clever. A bit like pouring petrol on a fire.
Apparently tickets are £29 so I hope for value for money or I will be having words with the Wally.

Also going to watch us win 3-2 at cefn druids tonight and then Hereford races on Monday so a bit hectic this weekend.
Based on stats the derby game has to be an under 2.5 banker with maybe a 1-0 win for either team….

Early post for the Night Owl…

    FLUMINENSE VS. VITÓRIA (22.30 KO):

Over to Rio for this one and on first glance, the price disparity looks an odd decision; both teams appear to be of equally poor form with a run of 4 or 5 draws and (predominantly) losses.

Yes, Fluminense are 12 points clear of Vitoria, but the latter side are fighting for survival on the brink of the drop-zone whereas the home team sit in relative mid-table obscurity.

Based on thae above information, I’d perhaps be siding with Vitoria to get something out of this – so why the hell are they SO big at 5/1??

    Two reasons:

    a. Look at their goal scoring record; they are without a goal in 360 minutes of football and have scored a paltry 7 in their last 11.

    b. This is even more noticeable when you consider the opposition played in recent games: Cruzeiro, Ponte Preta, Sport Recife…all teams in the bottom third for Vitoria and they’ve done absolutely nowt against them…not even goal!

Now look at Fluminense’s recent opponents; Flamengo, Sao Paulo, Santos…teams in or around the top third of the division AND Fluminense managed to notch against all of them!

Throw in one final piece of ‘data’ to set a hypothesis: ‘how have team goals been affected by weaker opposition in particular, at home games?’ The answer to that one can be found in Fluminense’s last 3 home games against similarly ranked opposition to Vitoria.

They recently played: Sport Recife, Mineiro and Figueirense who are the teams immediately surrounding Vitoria – the result?

Fluminense won each game: 3-1, 4-2 and 3-2.

Three selections to consider and the risk is clearly reflected in the reward so stake accordingly if you’re having a go…

simple overs fourfold from me tonight

cefn druids v bangor – both teams seem to be able to score and concede with equal ease, witness 32 gaols in their last 4 fixtures 8/16 bet365

almere city v helmond sport – home side 7 wins on the trot and usually good for goals too, helmond almost always score 19/40

top oss v nac – oss getting hammered but always scoring, nuff said 4/9

znojmo v banik sokolov – both teams seem to concede and score with seemingly monotonous regularity 13/20

    pays 4.39

could chuck in both portuguese games, both favourites befica and sporting should win and seem to be scoring easily
and add a bumper price at lille of 43/40 to bring the seven up to 27.32

    good luck

    • bixieupnorth 7 years ago

well that was rubbish, 2/4 right in quad, and a 00 in portugal! makes you wonder why we bother looking at form etc when teams can only manage a goal between then in 90 minutes! i ended up putting psg to win but still a loser anyway
back to the drawing board today then!

Evening all, quick tip from Denmark kicking off in 10mins.

Silkeborg to win. A team with a lot of confidence against the exact opposite OB.

They should come out on top DC is a obvious bank builder.

derby day again for us Brentford boys and whilst a trip to qpr may seem tough on paper in reality Brentford should at least come away from loftus road with a least a point we currently sit two places above the rs and have a better goal difference +5 compared to qprs -3 that said this will be a very keenly fought affair and with both teams shipping 4 goals for qpr and 6 goals for Brentford in their last four games goals is the way to go and although qpr have the better form the only bet im advising is btts which can be backed at 8/11 with bet 365

    -qpr v Bees btts 8/11 with bet365

Quick one here gents as I’m busy tomorrow.

Basel travel to Grasshoppers in Switzerland knowing they have a Champions League home game on Tuesday against PSG. Knowing this game will be difficult I’m not entirely sure players will be rested, but regardless should get some goals. Grasshoppers will be glad to be back on home soil after three consecutive away games saw them concede 13 goals. They have not kept a clean sheet in twelve consecutive games and will likely concede against the Swiss giants. Six of eight home games for Grasshoppers has seen BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals this season, only failing to score in one against Fenerbache. Basel have conceded in their last 6 away games but two of those were against PSG and Arsenal, however with the big game on Tuesday I think the Grasshoppers will have their tails/legs up and should net themselves.

    Swiss Super League – 7:00PM

    Grasshoppers/Basel BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals @ 19/20 @ Coral – 4 points

    BTTS & Over 3.5 Goals @ 15/8 @ Coral – 1 point

Goal needed in Wales now though cover was there but left it hope it wasn’t a mistake

  57. stagger 7 years ago

Pathetic situation in Eerste. 6 games, 11 goals, 7 of them in one pigging game. I guess it must happen occasionally but for a league renowned for goals that was a rotten night’s potting over the six ties.

Peru has been worth it’s weight in marmalade over the last few weeks and there is/was two games on tonight’s schedule – the first I didcounted as too much risk for goals and it finished 3-1…let’s hope the favoured selection doesn’t go t*ts-up and fulfills it’s potential…

COMERCIANTES UNIDOS VS. UTC CAJAMARCA (21.30 KO):

Bookies fancying the home side but (I think) a little to favourably – UTC have score 2 goals against Unidos; a 2-2 draw in September and an outright 2-0 win as recently as May.

BTTS has a great chance as ever but it may well pay to take the additional risk of a 3rd goal and jump from 5/6 to a much more attractive 11/8.

I’ve just got a nagging feeling that the visitors might prove the bookies wrong here and score another team brace.

Two selections (there are much safer options but I’m taking on a bit of value):

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…11/8

    CAJAMARCA OVER 1.5 TGS…11/4

    Good luck ?

A rare 1-goal-game in Peru and although the bet was a loser, UTC certainly weren’t mugged of and were arguably the better team in the second half – didn’t justify their 5-1 price tag pre-kick off that’s for sure.

Looking brighter in Brasil where Fluminense sit on 2 goals heading into the 2nd half with 1 goal disallowed on 22 minutes:

    FLUMINENSE OVER 1.5 TGS…4/6

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Not around tomorrow so will pop this up now…

    NORTHAMPTON VS. BURY:

I’m not going to write this up due to the fact I never back directly against Bury…team goals however ate slightly more acceptable even if I do feel like a turncoat ?

    NORTHAMPTON TOWN OVER 1.5 TGS…EVENS

Sorry boys but I can just see this being the perfect 7 losses in October though I hope I’m wrong.

    HARROGATE TOWN VS. DARLO:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…6/5

    Double pays 3.4/1

Good luck with all bets ?

Hull, I’m with you on the Northampton o1.5tg, take them every week along with Morecombe matches O2.5mg. Being doing them from end of last season. Usually get a good run for your money.
Hopefully do their stuff this weekend

    • HullShaker 7 years ago

Having seeing just how poor we were in a big derby game on Monday, I could see any team in League One beating us soundly – we have a number of players out injured/suspended so the starting 11 WILL be stronger on paper but thete was such a lack of direction and vision it was scary…Flitcroft will be doing his nut.

    • slim 7 years ago

It doesn’t look good, don’t really want to be going to Northampton, they seem to like to score pretty consistently. Happy with a 3-2 bury win though ?
