I GOT a bit of stick on Saturday but bouncing back with a 14.5pts profit on Sunday I believe is the perfect answer.
The 5pts Super Single was controversially a treble on Sunday but what matters most is it was a 13-10 winner. And the 3-1 Top Treble later landed thanks to PSG, Atletico Madrid and Napoli.
I was so confident in the Super Single that I put 5pts on Rangers, Celtic -1AH and Spurs not to lose. I often put up doubles and the name “Super Single” is a tag. I'd change it but thousands put it in search engines every day so admin have told me I can't.
It's a simply a bet I believe will win at around evens or above and the 6.5pts profit means I will hopefully wipe out the losses this week. That will be the aim anyway.
The both to score treble was beaten by nothing much happening in the Manchester derby while the 3pts Top Treble also reduced my losses and with a week of October left I'll be pushing hard to at least bring that down to single figures.
On what was a much better all round Greg put up two out of two winners with his over 2.5 goals tips at Ajax and Rapid Vienna.
Monday's much quieter but there is a massive game in Sweden between AIK and Gothenburg with both teams needing to win to pile the pressure on leaders Norrkoping going into the final round of games.
AIK are three points behind Norrkoping with Gothenburg a further point back. But Norrkoping travel to Malmo in their final outing while AIK are at Orebro and Gothenburg home to Kalmar. So a win for either side tonight would give them real hope of lifting the title in a fascinating finish but in particular AIK who have a better h2h record in the matches with Norrkoping so will lift the title by winning their last two no matter what.
The Stockholm side have been in better form too with 10 wins in their last 11 while Gothenburg have blown it in recent weeks with three draws in four games. AIK are 31-20 favourites with BetVictor while Gothenburg are 9-5 at bet365 and others.
On the h2h there is nothing in it with four wins apiece in the last nine meetings and in the previous four have have saw both teams score and four haven't. However, with so much at stake there should be goals and I'm chancing 3pts on a Super Single of over 2.5 at 9-10 with McBookie and BetVictor.
Henok Goitom is AIK's top scorer with 16 and is 11-2 at bet365 to score first and 2-1 at 888sport to net at any time which tempts.
In the Championship Cardiff are just over evens at home to Bristol City and should come out on top. Russell Slade's men have won two and drawn two of their last four and edged out Middlesbrough at home in midweek. City have won just once in eight but pushed Brighton all the way in midweek before going down 2-1. Oh yeah and apparently it's a Severnside derby!
Athletic Bilbao face Sporting Gijon in La Liga and should win having lost just one in 10 to their rivals. Bilbao have won two and lost two at home bu the defeats were to Barcelona and Real. However, Sporting have been good on the road and have lost just one in four.
The home pays a best 4-7 at Paddy Power while Aritz Aduriz is evens at 888sport to score and 7-2 at Paddy Power to break the deadlock. He has 12 already this season and eight in his last nine matches.
Belenenses broke many hearts on Thursday with a shock 2-1 win away to Basel in the Europa League. That was a fine display and they are 10-11 with William Hill to follow up by beating Madeira at home. The islanders followed three successive 0-0 draws with a 2-1 defeat at Estoril and on the evidence of their win in Switzerland the home should be taken.

I saw that game cue’d up for tonight and if anything can be taken from this weekend, its that certs are no longer certs. Brighton drawing and rangers scrapping for a 1 nil are just 2 examples. I’m more inclined to say I’d play it safe with Cardiff/Bristol. Bristol stayed in this league with not much to spare and Cardiff who I thought last year struggled quite a bit ( I see them as a 6th to 8th league finish team ) this year they seem to of upped their game a few notches.
Again, Bristol MIGHT decide they wanna stay in this league and get what they would deem a good point away from home at a ground that’s not often fruitful for many teams. I’d be tempted though on a safer Cardiff double result and take the hit on the price for more certainty.

Haven’t posted in ages as been hard at work after hols but now back on the hols! :D
Something I’m really liking the look of today is:
Zalgiris v Stumbras – Lithuanian A Lyga – 17:30
Zalgiris top the Lithuanian league with the most prolific attack (90 goals) and the meanest defence (24 goals) over the 31 games played so far. They have kept clean sheets in over half of their games this year and do not like to concede.
“Why bet against them keeping yet another one then?!” I hear you cry. Well, what I have noticed is that Stumbras like to score away from home. In fact they have scored in almost 90% of their away games and, despite a heavy loss against the league leaders last time they played in May (4-1) they did manage to score.
The BTTS stats show that this has come up in 80% of Stumbras’ away matches this year with a much lower 27% of Zalgiris’ home matches seeing both teams find the net. However I believe that if anyone is going to find the net against Zalgiris at home, it will be these boys. One last point to mention is that Stumbras have one of the top 5 strikers in the league – Alturas Rimkevicius – who has scored 19 this season so far.
For these reasons I am recommending a juicy 2.62 on the BTTS market. It’s a little bit of a punt as I don’t expect Stumbras to get a result but I can certainly see them scoring.
Hope it nets someone a few quid. I’ll be on it!

Diamond Minsk take on Slavia at 12.00 today and I’ll be looking for goals in this one…
The previous H2H saw D Minsk run out 4-2 victors and Slavia are shipping goals of late – 4-1 and 6-1 defeats last two outings.
My only reservation is D Minsk’s ability in front of goal. Their earlier goalscoring form has dried up – that said they still sit second top and realistically their is a gulf in class between the two teams…I’ll take today to get their shooting boots back on.

2 wins from 28 is shocking at any level and as such its no surprise Atvidabergs are bottom of the Allsvenskan. That is down in no small way to a leaky defence which has shipped 50 goals already including 6 last time out at 3rd bottom Falkenbergs. I don’t fancy their chances today against an Orebro side in very good form but I do think they can score as Orebro have conceded on average 2 goals a game on the road.

Taribo i dont blame you. As mr f will probably agree football is currently all over the place in terms of wdw. Take Stoke for example at the weekend. I just knew they would defy form. There seems to be more of a level playing field at the moment.

is the Russian div 1 a good league for goals then? tbh its one ave never looked at
I was having a sniff around the championship top scorer odds earlier today. Last year I opted for Derbys Chris Martin who got us 25 in all competitions the previous season, last year we lost him for 6 league games towards the end of the season and it all went horribly wrong. I had a £10 on him @ 33/1 and he finished on 19. After his injury lay off he couldn’t buy a goal.
Now he’s currently priced @ 11/2 with bet365 and he’s on 8. Theres maybe 3 or 4 others on 8 too and a few on 7 and I think a Reading player is on 9.
But that drew me to a big question…. What goals are counted towards the tally, do league and FA cup goals count? do playoff goals count too, or is it just League goals – which I suspect, or maybe League and playoff matches ( as they’re still part of the league competition ).
Anyone definitively able to substantiate?
nathan, just league goals will count not cup goals but not sure about play-offs. I will try to find out but probably don’t count so it’s a level playing field.

Ritchie, I didn’t think cover was required. Should be more goals too – AIK will have to go for it and either they get one back or leave gaps to conceded.
However, another goals pays 4-6 although an AIK goal is 13-8.
Over 4.5 goals has a chance at 3-1 if someone scores in the next 10 minutes. Once it gets back 2-2 it’s a result that plays into Norrkoping hands.

Spakenburg are top op the league in the Topklasse scoring 28 in 9 games. They scored 2+ in 7 of their 9 games this season. Spakenburg didn’t play this weekend. Achilles started the season well but are now back at the bottom half of the table of the Jupiler League. They haven’t won in 6, losing 5 and they lost 3-0 on Friday. They conceded 16 goals in 10 games this season. They only had 2 clean sheets at home against other low ranked teams Oss and RKC. The level between the bottom of the Jupiler League and the top of the Topklasse isn’t really big and a Spakenburg team on fire should be able to score.
The other game is Berkum v HHC and I fancy HHC to score 2 goals against a team who play 2 tiers below them. HHC is a decent team who scored 17 goals in the Topklasse. 2+ in 3 of their 5 away games, in the other 2 they scored 1. HHC didn’t play this weekend. Berkum started the season well but they now have 6 first team players injured and that is seen in their recent results. They conceded 14 in 7 games this season and most of them came in the heavy defeats in their last couple of games (4-1, 4-2, 1-5). They had a goalless draw at the bottom club on Saturday. I think the level between these 2 leagues is quite big and with the Berkum team news I can see HHC score a couple.
