OCT 25: JOHNB’S RACING TIPS & CHAT

RacingTips_WH

IT was three horses and three losers for Johnb on Saturday and I know how he’s feeling.

Looks like it’s beeen a good day for bookies but we’ll never take defeat lying down and will be back for more on Sunday.

Johnb is 23.03pts down for October and has two Sunday selections.

Johnb’s Sunday Tips

Aintree 3.0
Work In Progress 11-4 NAP BetVictor

3.30
Johns Spirit 6-1 NB BetVictor, William Hill, Coral

Double
Work In Progress & Johns Spirit 25.25-1 BetVictor

Johns Spirit (NB)

A horse that always goes well fresh having won the last two seasons first time out, not disgraced last three runs when running in the King George at Kempton, the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and a good third in the Melling Chase at Aintree.
After winning on debut last season he went on to be second in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham and is only 1lb higher here than he was in that race.

Work In Progress (NAP)

Although he had some decent performances last season this lightly-raced horse looked to have come on a lot when winning last week and it was impressive the way he went about his job and he looks like a horse to keep on side this season with plenty of improvement still in him and will be going on to bigger and better things this season.

    Timeform comments:

Work In Progress (5 out of 5 stars): Definite signs of encouragement in this sphere last term, and not hard pressed to open his account at Kempton (21f) last week. Very much of interest back in handicaps with prospect of more to come.
    Form: 2/42F8-1
Race commentary: hurdle, 2m 4f. WORK IN PROGRESS was a facile winner on his return at Kempton last week, and with the potential for better still back in handicap company, can defy a penalty. Hunters Hoof and A Vos Gardes are live threats on their seasonal returns respectively, whilst Box Office is very much one to monitor in the market.

Johns Spirit (5 out of 5 stars): Added to cracking record at Cheltenham on last year’s return and fine second in Paddy Power there next time. Not disgraced having sights raised since, third in Melling Chase here on final start.
    Form: 0/12653-
Race commentary: chase, 2m 3f 200y. Competitive stuff but the vote goes to JOHNS SPIRIT, who has won first-time out for the last 2 seasons and was a creditable third in the Melling Chase here on his final outing. Topham Chase winner Rajdhani Express and last year’s runaway scorer Wishfull Thinking head the list of many potential dangers.

So for one that barely comments, I’m going to stick up my fancies anyhow and see how we go,
    2.20 leop – tested 9/4
Was demoted to second after interference with soverign debt at tipp, earlier this month, then sov debt ran at Newmarket shortly afterwards, still running well, think them holding tested back for a rematch could be paying dividends for them today and expect it to go off a much shorter price at race time

  19. James 1 year ago

Lost the other one at bottom of post,
    1.25 going for broke 3/1
Thinking after a poor run, it really needed it and will improve massively today.

Mr fixit or any of the followers on this site know exactly what the partnership with William hill is reason I ask they have restricted my betting traders decision apparently it’s just I’m not following that long approx 2 months so while I’ve enjoyed some nice wins I am infact down as September and October are minus points and it’s not like I use William hill for all my bets as I try to get the best prices possible I’m just wondering why

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 1 year ago

Haigh, you need to ask them for a reason.
Traders take decisions based on a number of things – mainly the type of bet you’re doing.
If you look extra savvy they may restrict you – there are many other firms you can bet with if you’re not happy with them.

Yovan, they won’t restrict you for betting on horses.
What’s Johnb’s stats for the last week?

  40. jules 1 year ago

Haigh my friend works for will hills and i had my account shut down even though i was losing. He told me they work on a beating the odds percentage and not profit like some bookies. I had only 9 or 10 bets which had 1 winner but 9 of the sp’s were lower than the odds i got. They are scared of customers match betting

  41. upswing 1 year ago

also can’t get a decent bet on at sky bet , stan james, betway

    • Profile photo of Mr Fixit Author
      Mr Fixit 1 year ago

upswing, bookies share info remember so if a few restrict you’ll probably be flagged up wherever you go.
They must regard you as a clever punter and at worst you can bet in shops and on the sports terminals where prices are often better.
Right, need to take dug a big walk. Will listen to Man Utd and be back for Liverpool game.

  45. Haigh 1 year ago

That could be it Jules thanks for explanation

    Timeform comments:

Educate (5 out of 5 stars): Not won since landing the Cambridgeshire in 2013, but plenty of good efforts since, however ran no sort of race in the Cambridgeshire last month. Is potentially well treated now, though.
    Form: 320070
Race commentary: flat, 1m 60y. EDUCATE ran no sort of race in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket last time, but is very well handicapped on the best of his form, and looks worth chancing to bounce back in this less-competitive affair. Robert The Painter should give his running from the front again, while the consistent Athletic can reward each-way support once more.

Fabricate (5 out of 5 stars): Most progressive this term, building on Salisbury maiden success showing a willing attitude to prevail in 11.9f Haydock handicap in May. Cheekpieces on. Open to further improvement.
    Form: 311
Race commentary: flat, 1m 3f 183y. FABRICATE marked himself down as one to follow earlier in the year, and although it is a little disconcerting we haven’t seen him since May, he still remains with potential and can prove himself on a good mark. Top Tug has performed well in some competitive handicaps this year, and is feared most.
