I QUITE often judge a card by how easily I can produce a shortlist. This weekend I really struggled and that's bad news.
Eight homes and five aways were all I managed at first glance but on the bright side I did choose 17 matches where I thought both would score.
That will please people who encourage me to do more goals bets. However, doing goals bets you still need to pick the right ones. Look at my only Friday tip – Lyon to score, Start v Mjondalen btts and Caen to score. Two of out of three wasn't good enough as high-flying Caen crashed 2-0.
My Saturday Daily Record tips feature goals bets and some European selections. Remember don't try to do them all and note the advised accas stats include many long shots and in November with the new site launched I'll be putting up much less risky selections.
My Super Single is Stoke who are going for four wins in a row at home to struggling Watford. Stoke were comfortable at Swansea on Monday and are looking tough to beat after a difficult start.
The Top Treble probably sums up a tough coupon and I'm hoping for some profit form the both teams to score trebles.
Stoke also feature on the homes with Arsenal who have hit some decent form. I've added Brighton, Sevilla and controversially Aberdeen who are on a run of four defeats but look good to stop the rot against Motherwell.

Agree with Stoke. I think they’ll rip a team apart sooner or later with the attacking options they have. It could well be Watford. You have to credit their discipline to get the result at Swansea but you could see the frustration in certain players, particularly Arnautovic. Hopefully they’ll play with a bit more freedom tomorrow. Some good prices for Stoke goal scorers in this one. I feel like Glen Johnson has to get one at some stage, he has enough attempts, although I notice all Stoke’s goals so far have been shared between attackers.

Hudderfield/Derby preview/post Blackburn thoughts etc:
Firstly the Blackburn game: Of the previous 2 and right up until we play Notts Forest, the Blackburn game on paper is/was probably the toughest out of a patch of approx. 8 games.
Hendricks illness forced the boss into fielding Butterfield and switching Johnson into Hendricks role. He also changed out Forsyth @ left back who like his counterpart on the right is a wingback – for Warnock who the boss felt was more defence orientated. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but those 2 changes AND facing a tougher opposition than our previous opponents, I can only think that the boss was playing it a bit safe to grab a point, rather than go for all 3 – or lose. The truth is, right across the pitch everyone had a bad game and to be fair to Blackburn, they had most of the chances (although we did grow into the game) – most fell to Taylor and his finishing was terrible. Both Rhodes and Martin barely had a sniff in the game as service to them both was snuffed out at every opportunity.
The gaffer after the game said it was a hard earned point which in truth is about right. I think we were lucky to get 1 point because right across the pitch, the whole team never gelled. There was no flow, no flair and no creativity. I’ve seen the highlights and I think Blackburn margainally did enough to get all 3 points. So that has to be a bit of a wake up call to us. Not good enough.
Both sides have also only lost once all season.
Onto the Huddersfield game: Huddersfield sold us their player of the year Butterfield on the last day of the transfer window and since his arrival, although most of his football has been as a late sub to protect maybe Thorne or Hendrick, he’s done alright. On the strength of the performance against Blackburn, given other options, I think the boss could drop him and switch to a straight 4-4-2 with Ince and Russell on the right and left. I hope so, but I highly doubt it.
Its another one of those ” games on paper ” and the last time we played them in the last few months of the season, we drew 4-4. We had no Chris Martin then and I think Russell and Ince were the 2 up front. That game two’d and fro’d and maybe another 5 mins and it may have seen a Derby winner.
This team is still very different to the one that ended last season, Shackell’s defending, occasionally Keogh and carsons shot stopping is certainly lowering the oppositions goal tally but the centre of the park, the 3 midfield battlers still isn’t right. It lacks that creative throughball for the runners. ( we had nobody doing either in the last game ), but no disrespect to Huddersfield but I don’t see them as a Top 6 side, I think they’ll be lucky with a 10th to 14th finish.
Chris Powell ( ex Derby player ) is managing Huddersfield and he was at Ewood Park.
Personally I’d like to see Forsyth back as a winback and Warnock back on the bench and maybe swap out Butterfield for Baird. ( unless Butterfield knows something about how Hudderfield will set their stall out ).
Ince does like to score against Huddersfield but that’s only going to happen with an increase in tempo and better service to the front line.
Theres been more draws in the championship so far than is normal and I’m sad to say that this could be another. If Hudderfield see Derby as a big threat, they might just park the bus, or they might have a go at us.
BTTS is a possibility, but I can’t decisively nail my money on anything. Hopefully the boss will get a reaction and we might pick up a win. I do know that Hendrick will be missing and Bryson isn’t ready yet.
Another scenario which I’d be more at ease with would be Hendrick out for Ince and but Martin out wide and bring Bent in. I don’t remember when he last had a start.
This could well be a game to leave well alone until we have a few midfielders back from injuries.

I’d say there might be a bit of value in the FA Cup today. My Super Single would be Stourbridge (DNB 5/4) v Kidderminster. Stour have Karl Hawley and Justin Richards upfront and although they lost on Monday, they have been in terrific form. If you are want you could double it up with Salford City (DNB 5/4) at home to Southport.

Cracovias last 5 league games have all seen btts with them scoring 15 and conceeding 13.
Pogon has seen 3/5 previous games see btts though theyve only failed to score in onr of those against zag lubin int the previous match where they both cancelled each other out and the game stuck at 0-0.

Final Verdict – Goals likely in this London derby
West Ham have a rotten record against Chelsea but they will surely have had fewer better opportunities than this in recent years to record a victory over an old rival that is long overdue with only 1 win in 11 years over Chelsea.
The Hammers are in fine form while Chelsea have yet to show any real sign of serious improvement and this could be another struggle for the champions who are not keeping clean sheets this season and with West Ham second top scorers in the division, I fancy they could score at least once here so I’m going with BTTS as my main selection while West Ham to score 2 or more @7/4 certainly tempts.
Chelsea had a tough game in Kiev on Wednesday and this won’t be easy against a side that have achieved some tremendous results this season and you just wonder if Jose will try to get his team to be the counter attacking side in this one. Could it end up a stand off? I don’t think so.
The home side will look to get forward quickly and it won’t be a “park the bus” type job from West Ham who are a team full of confidence right now and they will believe in their ability to hurt Chelsea with the likes of Payet and Lanzini in tremendous form and given Chelsea’s need for points, you would expect the Blues to be full of intent in what should be a full throttle game of football.
I expect a fast paced and exciting game here although if this one does stay 0.0 for a while, it wouldn’t shock me if it ended up that way but I hope and have an expectation for an early goal and that should set us on our way for BTTS @8/13 in a contest that could end up even come the final whistle.

Bo’s Final Verdict – Lots of goals in a likely home win
I think we might see a real cracker here and I’m going a little bolder with over 3.5 goals @6/5 as I expect the home side to score at least 2 while Stuttgart are more than capable of scoring on the road with 12 in their last 6.
When you also factor in Leverkusen’s crazy 4.4 draw with Roma on Tuesday, it’s possible there are some defensive issues that Stuttgart can exploit but given their own fantastic BTTS record and conceding at least 2 on the road, I’m trying all of the highlighted selections with a fair degree of confidence.
My somewhat narrowed down bets for today.
Nice Over 1.5 Goals (13/10) – NAP
I was expecting this to be under evens and I’ll happily take the 13/10 on offer. Nice have really started to click and have scored 17 goals in their last 4 games, and that doesn’t include the match with Nantes that was abandoned at half-time with the scorline 2-2. Ajaccio sit rock bottom without a win in their last 9. They’ve conceded in each of those 9 games and although they are yet to concede more than twice in a single game this season, they will be put to the test against a free scoring Nice side.
Ayr Over 1.5 Goals – NB
A late equaliser against Forfar last week made it eight matches out of nine Ayr have scored twice or more. They face a Stenhousmuir side they beat 5-2 at home earlier in the season. Their defence at home is a little bit more watertight with three of the five home matches having them concede twice compared to all five of their away matches. As well as that 5-2 defeat to Ayr, they’ve been thrashed 4-1 away to Forfar and 5-0 at home to Dunfermline so it shouldn’t be asking too much for them to concede a couple here.
Morecambe Over 1.5 Goals (19/10), Over 3.5 Match Goals (2/1) – Half stake on each
Morecambe can feel a little bit offended at being chalked up as 16/5 underdogs against a team who sit one place above them and who have won only one match in their last nine. 19/20 on the double chance looks a little generous but considering Morecambe have the worst defence in the league that’s not where I’m going with this. As well as having the worst defence, Morecambe also have the best attack and Orient have conceded in every one of those last nine matches. Morecambe have scored twice in nine of their last eleven matches and have hit the back of the net fourteen times in their last four. This game is more than capable of having four or more goals which has also happened in nine of Morecambe’s last eleven. Three of Orients last four have also seen four or more goals.
Sheffield United Over 1.5 Goals (11/10)
Six of Sheffield United’s home games has seen this bet win, and they have score three times in each of their last three home games. Millwall’s away form has generally been better than their home form this season, but they did concede twice against Wigan and conceded five against Peterborough.
Blackman (Reading) to Score (17/10)
I feel like i’m tipping him every time he plays but as long as he keeps scoring i’ll keep going back to the well. He’s scored in nine of his last ten matches including all of his last six. This is normally a matchup that has a few goals and Fulham’s defensive isn’t naturally watertight so there should be chances in this for him.
Stewart (Dundee) to score (7/4)
Despite getting their first clean sheet of the season last time out you would fancy a Dundee side who put four past them earlier this season to score a couple. What better man to get one of those goals than Greg Stewart; he has five goals in his last three against Kilmarnock.
Adams (Sheffield United) to Score (11/5)
This boy loves scoring goals at home. He’s started four home league matches this season and scored a double in three of them. Two of those doubles came in Sheffield’s last two home league games and he also scored a goal in the cup.
Chesterfield v Scunhtorpe Over 2.5 Goals (5/6)
Since they got promoted to League One at the start of the 2014/15 season, Scunhtorpe haven’t had an away game go under 1.5 goals. Their last 16 away games have seen them concede twice and ever one of their away games this season has gone Over 2.5. Six of Chesterfield seven home games have had three or more goals.

I’m going to stick my neck out and back Everton this evening at the odds available. I just feel that everything is in place for a surprise. Arsenal did a great job against Bayern but it wasn’t their usual style of play and I feel that a great deal of preparation must have gone into that match whereas Everton will have been hurting following a poor performance against United and had a whole week to prepare. I also have never seen an Arsenal team have to make so much running in a game without the ball for a long time and am sure this will have taken it’s toll. There is already talk of Sanchez being rested. I suppose we’ll see what Arsenal are made of this season and I believe Everton will make life very difficult for them. I’m sure Everton will be licking their lips at the prospect of being party poopers here.

Forfar away to Dunfermline on Saturday and both meetings have seen goals with results in Dunfermline favour winning 3-0 and 4-0. Would expect over 2.5 mgls and Dunfermline over 1.5tgls to be considered by some punters.

I dont bet on winners in the Prem as its the worst league to predict. So I’ll echo what a lot of people have been saying, betting on goals is the best way to go. My favorite leagues to bet on are the leagues in New Zealand, 4 or more goals on average per game. Lots of info online, so id suggest checking those out.

Matty, overs or both to score depends on the fixture. Overs is better if there is a clear underdog and the only score that can beat it but bring up btts is 1-1.

As I say depends on the game/team. Just think overs is safer. My fave evens bet is a an over 1.5 mg treble/fourfold. Then heavily faves to score 2 or more. Just my oppinion on ur question and my preference. But as I said depends on game and even odds
