IT was a quiet until last week when it suddenly became an unlucky week.

I posted two Super Singles and both were in my opinion close to coming in. First was Inverness draw no bet at home to Rangers and the Highlanders missed a few chances to draw level in the second half after being dominated over the first 45.

The second loser was gut-wrenching as Mario Balotelli missed a penalty in Nice's win against Lyon.

My Top Treble was equally unfortunate with both to score at Dortmund and Toulouse coming in but the normally reliable Las Palmas failing to net at home to Espanyol.

So it was a 3pts loss on the night and hopefully I can get back to winning ways today. Watch out for all the tips from the regulars and well done to Greg who tipped Rangers to win last night.

I've posted separate Scottish and English betting previews where most of my picks will be covered.

I didn't have an outstanding Super Single candidate but have gone with Luton whose form has been steady at an Orient side without a goal in five of their last six games.

Bury make the short distance across town to take on Rochdale in East Lancashire’s answer to El Classico and as hundreds of folk drag themselves out of their rain-soaked hovels to try and kill each off the pitch, it’s usually pretty much the same on the pitch.

I’ll be picking out a ‘card’ bet pending prices in the morning but beyond bookings, I wouldn’t touch it for WDW or even goals.

Best of luck with all bets tomorrow lads ?

Given that I think Griffiths will start I think I’ve found a great bet. Griffiths to score 2 or more is 11/2 with 888 sport and next best price is 4/5 with Coral but he’s as short as 4/5 with Paddy Power, 11/8 with Skybet and 13/8 with Bet365.

  4. chris guy 8 years ago

Sorry I meant next best price was 3/1 at Coral

    Sydney vs Central Coast

Goals are the order of the day in this one.
Sydney take on a young CCM team who shipped in 3 first half goals last week but then turned it around to make a remarkable comeback and draw the game 3-3. Roy O’Donavan came on to spark the 3 goal comeback and it would surely be crazy not to start him as he ended the game with two goals.
    I’m backing.

    The big derby.
Again I’m backing goals here today over 2.5 has been seen 4/4 times with over 2.5 btts seen in 3 of them. It’s also seen first half goals in 4/4 and if we went for the bet I’m backing you would have been a winner 4/4 times. Bruno looked Sharpe last week and if not for an outstanding save and a sending off that killed the game dead in its tracks he would have got a goal and Jordans oz recored would have got off to a flyer so I’m backing him to get the ball rolling this week.

    Tomorrow I’m going for.

I watched city take Victory apart, Tim Cahill on his debut got the opener from 25 yards and made the 2nd, City had 3 in the bag before Victory replied early on in the 2nd half and Victory replied almost straight away.
Its certainly thrown down one huge marker in the aussie top tier.
isn’t @Jordan our resident aussie footie guru? just wondering what your thoughts are and if you saw how quick and repetitive Victory counter-attacked all match.

Morning boys, two weeks ago Coventry won 2-0 at an in-form Port Vale to register their first win of the season. Today they’re away at Charlton who haven’t been in the best form since dropping down from the championship. County have been great for BTTS at home this season conceding in every home game. Crewe have found the net in the last 7 games and in 4/5 away games. Saturday… A big card, and the end of an international break. Lovely stuff. I didn’t fancy anything on Friday night, but there was almost too much to choose from today. As is often the case these days, I don’t have time to add a big write up. I had, however, picked out the Fylde/Darlo double at the beginning of the week, if that’s any indication of confidence. Fingers crossed I’ve landed on the right stuff below – (prices taken last night):

    Morning gents

    Back to league business today

    Derby v Leeds

Steve McLaren returns to Derby to try and get their promotion push back on track, playoffs is the best they can hope for however! They picked up 4 points without a manager and you’ll see most clubs get a lift in the direct match after a new appointment! Derby have quality throught the ranks and as our resident Derby fan @nathanufton will tell you it just hasn’t happened this season! Leeds are in quite good shape but I’m taking the Rams to get Mclaren’s tenure off to a winning start! Derby have won 7 of the last 8 between the sides here! Let’s make it 8 out of 9

    Back Derby 20/23 (BetVictor) (NAP)

    Scottish overs 2.5 goals treble

    Montrose v Elgin
    Arbroath v Forfar
    Brechin Alloa

    Pays 7/2

    English over 2.5 goals double

    Man City v Everton
    Norwich v Rotherham

    Pays 6/4

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

@gregbrowning I agree with you on the Derby call. I’ve been kinda breathing out my backside to make sure I stay awake for this one, I’m due to sleep, might make the pre-match summary/team news, but i’ll give you a bit of a heads up on this match.

Derby v Leeds: – This match always stirs up memories of the early 70’s when on the odd occasion, a game of football might break out in amongst the on pitch punch-ups and 2 footed knee height challenges that used frequent this game. – check out youtube with franny lee !!
Anyway, the rams have won most of the last 9 or so matches but I think last season they scalped us with a win and a draw. This game always makes me look right at the ” Cards ” market. Derby have been a bit toothless this season BUT this past 3 matches or so have really started to pitch in with the cards count and whilst we have been a rudderless ship, we have thrown away a 1 nil win to lose 2-1 ( the first lost game for the rams from a winning position in 37 or so games ), we also got a decent win and sadly threw away a sickening win with an equaliser I clocked at 89 mins 52 seconds. Gut wrenching. The rot seems to of stopped.
Thorne is still injured, Forsyth missing in left back through injury and our ever present Shackell – interviewed before the international break was hinting that he’d be there or there about come today.
Derby’s price hasn’t moved all that much and without factoring in Steve McClarens return, I took a look at Leeds away form and yes, they have a few wins, but nothing much there for me to be too worried about.
So Steve Mac is back. You can read what you want into it but I know he played the media mind games on the will he won’t he leave for Newcastle and he did. IF he was sacked, which I doubt, IF there was a payoff involved, I’m sure the back office boys at the Ipro would of got Newcastle to cough up McClarens compensation, but from the right here right now scenario, Derby have only offered him a contract until the end of next season – smart move.
McClaren – past player, former assistant manager, former manager is back and we know he knows how to make an impact. We were 3 or 4 down at home to Ipswich at halftime and he gave the lads a pep talk in the dressing room. Ipswich must of thought they were playing Barcelona in the 2nd half because we spent 45 minutes camped in their half. 4-4 it ended and we all thought we deserved a winner.
That team was largely inherited from Clough and he tweaked it. We chalked up a 9 match winning streak and lost 1 nil to wigan I think around new year.
He loves a 4-3-3, he will play it and we’ll see a change in fortune at the Ipro.
We’ve had a 2 week international break that has rudely interrupted our October/November purple patch period ( again check the stats – we always come alive at this stage of the season ).
He’s missing a few faces with Hendrick and Martin gone, but we have enough of a squad to build some serious momentum. Our front line which was heavily under utilized was bolstered with a Man U loanee and 2 Watford front men and the goals have started to come. But the bench will be a goalkeeper, a defender of sorts + probably 5 attacking options. IF Derby show their teeth today, they will take all 3 points and at 5/6 with bet365, that’s where my money will be going. IF I was feeling brave, I’d be looking to double that up with an overs total cards because the midfielders are going to want to be seen to be roughing them up in this match. New boss and all that, but the cards market will not open up until around 10 mins before kickoff. IF its overs 3.5 or lower, take it and go higher. I wouldn’t be comfortable betting on any more than that overs 3.5 total cards even though this could easily hit 5+ cards. Look for the price and the line in the sand, if its at 3.5, strike, if its set higher, I’d give it a miss.
I’m sure if you shop around, you might even get a better price than 5/6 if you check in with oddschecker.

best of luck folks, hopefully, team news around 2pm.

    • nathanufton 8 years ago

      Derby team news:

McClarens opening salvo is in the form of 4-3-3 – no surprises there. He’s also going to take the role of manager and not head coach. The biggest whale in the room has been dealt with too, he apologised for his lack of commitment in the past and I think the short contract is a reflection of that.
Shackell or Bryson not quite ready so Keogh and Pearce keep the central defence partnership.
Lowe in left back is quite well deserved, he’s an academy product who stood in for Olsson and showed his tenacity.

      Carson
      Christie/Keogh/Pearce/Lowe
      Hughes/Butterfield/Johnson
      Ince/Anya/Vydra/

subs: Mitchell, Bryson, bent, baird, Russell, weimann, Wilson

Derby now @17/20 for the straight win.

      best of luck folks,

Hi gents. No joy last night in Spain and unfortunately busy this morning to miss all the Aussie action. I said it wouldn’t take long for Fornaroli to get his first goal of this campaign and he has done so. Victory were being tipped for the title this season so Melbourne City once again look like they could be a team for goals each week.

Very little time for research this morning so have nosed through and picked a bet that looks decent. Monchegladbach host Hamburger in the Bundesliga with the visitors with 1 point from their six games. Thorgan Hazard is a doubt for the home side but they have some decent plays and are much better at home. Hamburger are averaging 2 goals per game against them and my guess is that’ll continue today with the likes of Stindl and Raffael up top.

Add Crystal Palace to score at home against the Hammers. West Ham have only one clean sheet in 12 competitive games this season and have a lengthy injury list to boot. Palace have picked up some form after a bad start, unbeaten in the league in five and scoring in all of those games. BTTS possible but too short for a single. Benteke was in decent form for Belgium (albeit against Gibraltar) and has netted in Palaces’ last two (three in four). Best price for him to score today is 8/5 @ Bwin.

Just seen a corker in bet365, Derby over 1.5 team goals @ 6/4. Derby are well and truly up for this and we’ve forcing corners very early on. Stats look good too as do the chances. Match commentary gives me extra confidence we’ll get all 3 points.
There’s quick build up and moving the ball quickly – and we have 5 of 7 attacking subs on the bench for a last 30 mins of extra pressure.

I like to do a wee bet on the live TV games on BT sport, I do both teams to score a penalty and both teams miss a penalty that is four singles the odds to miss are very good, and the odds to score are OK as well, it gives you a bit of interest right up to the final whistle.

RT7 9/4, came up last 2 home games plus last H2H at home too

  92. HullShaker 8 years ago

I commented last night about the disparity between goals in this season’s Paraguayan top flight and last seasons which, in the main, has been the case.

There are a number of teams who have are still clocking up the goals and more to the point certain H2Hs that are worth looking out for.

One of those crops up tonight and that’s whete I’m headed for a Night Owl with a canny bit of money riding on it…

SOL DE AMÉRICA VS. NACIONAL ASUNCIÓN (22.00 KO):

Let’s start with the H2H profile.

This fixture has been played out 7 times so far in the 2015/16 – 2016/17 seasons with: 1-5-3-0-7-3-3 match goals scored and in 2016 alone we have seen scorelines of 4-3, 0-3 and 2-1.

So that’s 4 out of 6 over a 2 year spell and 2 out of 3 seeing both teams scoring in 2016.

In 19 of SdA’s last 25 matches, BTTS has come in with 5 of the last 9 league games getting the green light.

Nacional Asuncion’s games follow a similar pattern with 19 of their last 26 seeing a goal for both sides whilst more recently, 4 of their last 6 league games would have been winners if you had selected BTTS.

Two selections and the former is a short price but with a good wind will be the bet that takes my Series over the £1000 mark:

    BTTS…1/2
    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS..

    • davel 8 years ago

  94. richard 8 years ago

My tips really have been duff recently but gonna try again

Vasco vs CRB 0-0 after 28 mins

Vasco to be winning by half-time @ 3.00

Scored 12 by half-time in 15 home games while CRB have conceded 10 in first half away and Vasco well on top in the game

  95. richard 8 years ago

and that ladies and gentlemen is why you always bet on goals rather than teams as CRB have their first shot on target and go 1-0 up
