IT was close but no cigar with my only two tips that made it to the site yesterday.
An injury-time goal beat the Bromley DNB Super Single and while Italy won I needed another Croatia and Wales goal to bring up the Top Treble.
Two other goals tips I put up never posted and we expect some minor site problems over the next 10 days or so as work is done to finish the new site.
So that’s six days of Euro 2016 qualifiers done and dusted with some highs and lows. Eight sides are heading for the play-offs including Ireland while Holland and Scotland are among disappointed nations to crash out completely.
In the women’s Champions League tonight Chelsea travel to Glasgow 1-0 up from the first leg and I’d be surprised if the English champs didn’t build on their lead. From what I read City parked the bus to give themselves a chance tonight but Chelsea could cut loose if Scott Booth’s side open up as they need to score at least once and probably more.
I know some of the England players from watching the World Cup and first-leg scorer Fran Kirkby and forward Eniola Aluko will be big dangers to Glasgow hopes at Airdrie. I’m not an expert on women’s football but Chelsea look good to me at 3-4 with Ladbrokes.
PSG and Lyon both won 6-0 away and while they could good for goals again bookies are taking no chances with over 6.5 match goals odds on.
Another women’s tie that caught my eye was Verona v St Polten with the Italians 5-4 up after winning away. St Polten have netted exactly four goals in their last three Champions League matches so over 2.5 match goals at 3-8 with bet365 looks not bad. This game was listed for tonight but I see it’s not kicking off until tomorrow so apologies for that.
I’ve decided to double it with over 1.5 Wrexham goals at home to Guiseley in the only National League match tonight. Wrexham should win this against a side who have lost their last three without scoring. Two of those were 3-0 defeats while in their last four the Welsh lost 2-1 to Dover but netted two against Tranmere, Chester and Eastleigh.
The double’s being posted as a Super Single and I won’t be putting anything else up today unless someone can convince me about Chelsea Ladies or I see a price on Kirby to score.
And hopefully someone with a knowledge of Irish football will give us some thoughts on the League Cup matches.
