NOVAK DJOKOVIC has never lost a match at the China Open and today the world No.1 goes for his sixth Beijing title against Rafa Nadal.

Djokovic, whose record at the tournament is now 28-0 after his semi-final cruise past David Ferrer, has won six of the past seven meetings with Nadal and is just 2-13 at Marathonbet while a 2-0 success for the Serb looks likely at 6-13 with Marathonbet.

Nadal has defied doubters, including me, with his run to the final and ended his Fabio Fognini jinx in the semis but Djokovic's class should prove far too strong.

In the early hours of this morning it's Stan Wawrinka versus Benoit Paire in the Japan Open Final. Paire shocked home hero Kei Nishikori in the last four and is 28-11 at Marathonbet to land the trophy while world No.4 Wawrinka is 4-11 at Paddy Power.

In the women's China Open Final it's Wimbledon runner-up Garbine Muguruza against Timea Bacsinszky who came from a set down to KO sixth seed Ana Ivanovic yesterday.

Nico Rosberg starts from pole at the F1 Russian Grand Prix but still trails Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton in the betting. Ladbrokes chalk up the German at 11-8 while Hamilton, second on the grid, is evens at BetVictor.

At the Rugby World Cup Ireland are targeting the win over France that will see them avoid New Zealand in the quarter-finals and there's also the likes of snooker and plenty of NFL action taking place today so post your tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.

Still trying to figure out how Australia kept Wales out. That defence with 13 men was incredible to behold. Somehow managed to still enjoy it a little despite my finances being no better for it!

Tennis tomorrow sees paire carrying my only remaining hope of an good week. I may put something on Stan to win 2-1 @ 3/1 as Paire must have a good chance of making it close even if he falls short against his Swiss pal.

Ad, what’s ur thoughts on Bacsinszky to beat Muguruza?

Another NFL Sunday dawns and I’m hoping to turn around last weeks misfortune with two big wins. Posted the long write up throughout the week so will save thread space for the possible lashing at decisions made later on ;)

    NFL – Week 5

    Sunday Double

    Green Bay Packers -6.5 – 6:00PM
New England Patriots ML – 9:25PM

    0.99/1 @ 365 – 10 points

Put another 10 points on this, biting the bullet, if you follow bet what you can afford.

    Green Bay Packers -6
    New England Patriots ML

    1.02/1 @ Skybet

No big losses for the Pack. Clay Matthews, James Jones and Randall Cobb were questionable in the week but now all probable. Matthews the biggest impact on our defensive side so that’s a big plus who will try to limit Gurley. The Packers let Matt Forte run wild in week 1 but since then have kept Marshawn Lynch, Jamaal Charles and Carlos Hyde all under 49 rushing yards, so rookie Todd Gurley might struggle despite running free against Arizona in the 4th quarter last week.

Right Tackle Bryan Bulaga is questionable which is a lot better than being doubtful and will be a big plus if he starts. That’ll be all of our offensive line starters being healthy but Don Barclay has done an ok job in his place.

Strong Safety Morgan Burnett is doubtful but has only played one game this season against the Seahawks, so Micah Hyde will probably fill in once more.

Wide Receiver Davante Adams looks set to miss his second straight game but he hasn’t been overly missed with Cobb, Jones and Montgomery all playing well.

Other than that the Pack are in good shape.

The Patriots don’t have one injury to name so should be good to go in Dallas.

    Opponents injuries.

As said in the early write up, St Louis’ leading tackler Alec Ogletree underwent surgery in the week and will miss the rest of the season. Big loss but its their front end who offer the the biggest threat, but its nothing Aaron Rodgers shouldn’t take care of having dealt with high talented pass rushing against Kansas and Seattle.

Sean Lee has been cleared to play for the Cowboys but that’s probably the only positive they can take into this game against a well rested Patriots. Belichick has had two weeks to prepare for this, Tom Brady is on an MVP mission and no matter who you have on defense, you can’t stop Rob Gronkowski. Dallas on a short week. Hoping both teams are 5-0 by the end of Sunday.

    Bold predictions

    Packers 31-17

    Patriots 37-20

Good luck if you take these picks

    Jordan,

Thanks for the tips and keep up the good work.

What does the money line mean?

Skybet are offering Packers -6 at 8/13 and Patriots -7 at 4/7.

    Thinking about a double?

  5. Jordan 8 years ago

Joe, the Money Line just means a straight up win. Why? I don’t know. I’m not American :)

It’s not a bad idea mate but I’m being cautious. If you can get the Patriots with a spread lower than -7 it would probably be ok in a double with the Packers -6.

  6. Joe 8 years ago

Thanks Jordan didn’t realise ML meant a straight win….thought it was some special handicap margin!!

Thanks for clearing that up and good luck with ur bets.

In 3 years’ time, Tanner Mangum is going to be taken 1st overall in the NFL draft. You heard it here first boys and girls. The kid is balling lights out right now!

  8. Jordan 8 years ago

BigB you failed to answer my question but don’t worry I sniffed it out :) Utah/Cal should be a good one.

  9. Jordan 8 years ago

Just stuck the BYU game on BigB.

  10. BigB 8 years ago

Oh sorry Jordan man, didn’t look at the Other Sports thread from yesterday. Yes, Cal v Utes should be a good game! Think the Utes will sneak that one, good defense against a rookie QB but I won’t be betting on the game myself. I am watching the BYU game myself, some of the highlights play are pretty sick with 2 block pants and a few 4th down plays.

  11. lickirake 8 years ago

For what its worth the Money line refers to the way odds are presented in the states on football. In the points spread your presented with the points that need to be covered in order for your bet to be successful. The money line uses the same system but the margin is not important. Instead of points, what is adjusted is the money, hence “moneyline.”

e.g. so for example Dallas are listed at +269 and the Pats at -311. When reading moneylines the favorite’s number has a minus, and the underdog (“dog”) has a plus. Here, of course, the Pats are a heavy favorite. So you would have to bet £311 to win £100 if you wanted to bet on the Pats to win the game. If you wanted to bet on Dallas to pull the upset you would get £269 for every £100 bet.

It was a simple method created by the mob to allow punters to quickly figure out the return on a potential bet that stuck back in the days of illegal gambling!

  12. BigB 8 years ago

BYU defense 3 turnovers in 3 consecutive drives. Wow. Talk about making plays!

  13. Jordan 8 years ago

    Lickirake, nice insight.

BigB watching the USA/Mexico game now but have got the Utes on the small monitor.

  14. Jordan 8 years ago

This Goff can sling it for Cal.

  15. BigB 8 years ago

Jordan, I think he is in the same year as Tanner and he is ranked as the number 1 QB of that year class. That class is looking strong with Will Grier too from Florida.

  16. BigB 8 years ago

Genuinely think I have a man crush on Tanner Mangum… Exited the game at the start of 4th with a tight / pulled hamstring. BYU’s backup QB comes in and all drives were 4 and out, defense let up 17 points. Tanner comes back with 3 minutes to go, march the team down the field (77 yards) and score a go ahead TD. Christ.

  17. BigB 8 years ago

Oh no, I got that wrong. Goff is a junior this year, so he can enter the draft either this year or next year as a senior. But he is still apparently the number 1 QB if he decides to enter the draft this year. Ahead of Connor Cook and Cardale Jones.

  18. Jordan 8 years ago

  33. Attila 8 years ago

    I’m on UNDER 19.5 games @ $1.90 in the Djokovic/Nadal match.

That means Djoker needs to win 6-4, 6-3 which I think he can do against Nadal. Ferrer is in better form than Nadal at the moment and he was beaten 6-2, 6-3.

I know Nadal still leads the H2H betwen the two, but most his wins were earlier on in Djokovic’s career & on clay. Djokovic to win 2-0 but to find some betting value am taking the UNDERS.

  34. Humble tipper 8 years ago

Muller @ and fraction under 2/1 to beat Gasquet is worth a look. Reechard was pretty red hot in New York but had a disappointing first match following that against RBA. Muller is in good form himself, can trouble nearly anyone when his serve is going and has beaten Reechard a couple of times in relatively recent memory.

    NFL Sunday

    Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens

    Travis Benjamin O56.5 Receiving Yards – 17/20 @ BetVictor

The WR has made a good start to the season, during the first 4 game weeks he has seen 16 receptions for a total 328 yards, averaging 82 yards per game. This week the Browns visit the Ravens who give up 242.2 passing yards per game. This side have up 230 yards in total the Amari Cooper (WR) and Michael Crabtree (WR) in game week 2 and 227 just 2 weeks ago to AJ Green. With Benjamin averaging 20.5 yards per reception I expect this to be comfortable

    * New England Patriots -7 @ 9/10

Posted this through the week and although Sean Lee has been cleared to play for the Cowboys I can’t see them stoppin the pats putting a big score on the board and offensively they will also struggle to keep up with them. I also don’t give Dallas home advantage as they perform better on the road than they do on there own turf so pats by a TD looks good to me

    ———————————————-

Seahawks Bengals is going to be intersting , big game for both and only early days, the fancy bengals to win this but the seahawks could also snatch wich it im hoping but should be no more than a TD. Raiders should give it a go but I can see the Broncos winning here. Raiders have started off well but lost to a poor Bears team last week and Andy Dalton tore them apart when cinci were there in the opener.

  50. Jordan 8 years ago

Oriaz I’d go with either of the bottom two.

  51. SGTT 8 years ago

Chicago Bears @ Kansas City Chiefs

    Alex Smith O237.5 Passing Yards – 10/13 @ Bet365

The Chiefs racked up their most yards in a game for this season last week despite not being able to score a TD. Smith threw for an impressive 386 yards. He’d previously thrown for 243 and 290 at both Houston and GB but failed to reach the required number once when they hosted Denver. That’s no surprise seeing as Denver only allow average 275.5 rush and pass per game. With Macklin in form coming of the back of 2 consecutive 140+ reviving yards games Smith should be able to reach even against a resilient Bears D

  52. SGTT 8 years ago

    ML Treble

    Green Bay Packers
    Atlanta Falcons
    Cleveland Browns +14.5

    Evens @ Bet365

Green Bays home record speaks for itself, Rodgers hasn’t trown an interception in 19 games at Lambeau and they are unbeaten in 13 home games. Packers have started perfectly being 4-0.
Falcons are boosted by the news of Julio Jones being active he leads the league is receiving yards. Atlanta look strong this season and this is echoed by their 4-0 start.
Big game in the AFC North, Ravens are favourites but have major injury concerns, Gillmore and Smith Sr are both inactive. The Ravens are without players who have scored 6 of their 9 TD’s this season.

    Good luck all

Afternoon Guys NFL week 5 Early games

Starting with the TV game two 1-3 sides square off and even though Philly have stunk the place out twice this season, there was hope in the second half that Sam Bradford had remembered how to throw a ball. The good news is this Saints secondary isn’t doing anything. I will trust Bradford and I like TE Jordan Matthews to score, if they get to the redzone he is a mismatch for safeties and LB’s. Matthews is 11/10 Hills.

Kansas are another side I fancy to win and they make him the second part of my treble. Jaamal Charles should run all over Chicago and in the passing game. If the Bears stack the box then Smith has Kelce over the middle, but I like Macklin in one on one coverage. He is 11/10 Ladbrokes.

My best prop of the early games is Ravens RB Justin Forsett. Cleveland rank 31st against the run and after a quiet start Forsett rushed for 150yds last week. I think he hits 3 figures again this week, so he should cover 80.5yds at 10/13 Bet365.

My other prop is a team prop and it is for the high flying Falcons to score O3.5tds. Washington under Cousins have lost 6 in a row on the road throwing 10 picks. Washington are without Jackson and Reed in the offence meaning a heavy dose on Alfred Morris. The biggest worry is although stats wise show the skins are decent today they are without both starting cornerbacks Chris Culliver and DeAngelo. Oh and Julio Jones as been cleared to play.

Matty Ice could have a field day and freeman out the backfield is on fire. Atlanta are averaging 34pts per game and in the dome I expect the scoreboard to be turning. O3.5tds is 6/5 Ladbrokes.

  93. lickirake 8 years ago

What are we liking in the 49ers @ Giants? I like Torrey Smith over 50.5 receiving yards @ 5/6 for the 49ers against the 2nd worst receiving defense in the league.

  94. Picksix 8 years ago

    Pick6 Broncos!!!

    Chris Harris

  95. Picksix 8 years ago

Ruben Randles yards only 48.5 In the big apple later

Chris Harris just made a few happy.

  97. Picksix 8 years ago

The Broncos defence is immense , manning will of course struggle come play off time but defence wins superbowls

    • thechief 8 years ago

Picksix, unless your facing Tom Brady in the Superbowl ;)

  98. thechief 8 years ago

Lee, excellent stuff mate. I need Denver for the treble, GL mate.

Jordan, cheers mate. Kansas did me, no doubt losing Charles hurt them, but to be fair Atlanta only won in overtime. I wouldn’t have changed those picks, it was just one of those days, and the 3 little words punting on the NFL everyone hates “any given Sunday” 1 out of 2 on props which are my main bets disappointed with.

  99. Danny T 8 years ago

Jordan absolutely superb mate thank you very much great tipping

Chief cheers mate didn’t see Kansas losing today along with green Bay I thought they were the early bankers. Late game treble is up so 3 accas up from 5 think I’ll retire now prob won’t have a night as good this season, fancy 49ers with spread tonight but not going reinvest will wake up for work pissed off as normal but with nice wedge of cash in accounts. Another good night for thread well done all good results

Put another 10 points on this, biting the bullet, if you follow bet what you can afford.

    Green Bay Packers -6
    New England Patriots ML

    NFL

New England Patriots @ Dallas Cowboys

    * New England Patriots -7 @ 9/10 **WON**

    * CIN Bengals + 7.5
    DEN Broncos + 4
    NE Patriots ML

    Treble @ 4/5 **WON**

Seahawks Bengals is going to be intersting , big game for both and only early days, the fancy bengals to win this but the seahawks could also snatch wich it im hoping but should be no more than a TD. Raiders should give it a go but I can see the Broncos winning here. Raiders have started off well but lost to a poor Bears team last week and Andy Dalton tore them apart when cinci were there in the opener.

@ picksix, any thoughts mate on the giants 49ers game. late home from pub so wud really appreciate any game info. thanks

  117. Picksix 8 years ago

Ive had a quick browse mate at first glance Ruben Randles yarrds at 48. 5 seem more than do able at EVS as OBJ will be in triple coveraage and the running game for the Giants hasn’t clicked. I don’t know wether I’m gonna back it myself yet though I guess I get 10mins to decide lol

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants

There was more retirements in San Fran this off season than an old folks home. I mentioned on this thread opening day when most fancied Vikings would beat the 49ers, I said they may not be as bad as advertised, and they won. In week two and three those words made me look like a fool as they were smashed Pittsburgh and Arizona, then Last week they played it tough against Green Bay.

The Giants are big odds on and are favoured by a touchdown so I think looking for value is on the underdogs. WR Torrey Smith was signed in the off season and is one of the quickest in the league, with him teaming up with Boldin again, they signed Reggie Bush and the emergence of Carlos Hyde I thought they had a nucleus of a decent offence. Keeping Kap upright as been the biggest problem.

Giants rank last in the pass D, they don’t give up the big deep threat only one play as gone beyond 40+ although they do give up 41 plays over 20yds. Carlos Hyde exploded in the NFL in week one but only rushed for 114yds in 3 games since, I expect on the road Hyde, and Reggie Bush out the backfield, Kap in the read option to open up the lanes in the secondary.

The niners are big underdogs on the road but I like two of their players to cover their lines. Carlos Hyde torched the Vikings d in week 1, since then he as been playing from behind so his stats have dwindled. He is back on prime time tonight and one big run, one miss tackle could bring up his line set at O54.5yds at 10/11 Skybet.

The other player I like is Torrey Smith, he ripped off a huge play against the Steelers and with a line as low as it is, I can see him going over. If he gets 5 or 6 receptions it is done, or he can get it done with one play. His line is O45.5yds at 10/11 Stan James.

    PROP BETS

    HYDE O54.5yds 10/11
    SMITH O45.5yds 10/11

Good luck if your having a bet

  119. Jordan 8 years ago

Nothing on the late game for me. Had a good day so I’ll leave it at that and look to next week.

  120. winnerallright 8 years ago

    cheers mate

  121. winnerallright 8 years ago

    going for Giants -13.5pts @ 2.75 & also rubin randles yrds @ over 48.5. gudluck any1 having a bet

  122. Picksix 8 years ago

Ye I’ve backed Randles yards not putting it up as not necessarily a tip but a smallish bet for interest but I think it has a good chance of landing

  123. thechief 8 years ago

Danny, Lee and Jordan cheers guys, not been a bad night cant complain with a treble and prop, but could of been better. Well done again with your bets guys, makes this thread what it is.
