GREG has had enough of international football after his winning run of naps was halted at six by an Under-21 Euro qualifer.
He’s back on safer ground today with tips from the English lower leagues where he’s had plenty of success in recent weeks.
Northampton v Hartlepool (3pm)
After a sticky period, Northampton have turned into genuine promotion contenders. They are unbeaten in their last 5 collecting 3 wins and two draws but what stands out is the quality of the opposition they have picked up points against. Today’s visitors you could argue are in freefall. After a promising start they’ve now won just one of their last 8 league matches and come into this after heavy defeats at home to Luton and Bristol Rovers. To further compliment Northampton, they are unbeaten in the last 8 meetings here against Hartlepool (5 wins, 3 draws) and this could be another long afternoon for the visitors.
Back Northampton (17-20 Bet365) (NAP)
Sheffield United v Rochdale (3pm)
The hosts have had patchy league form recently but they have played some in-form teams during that time (lost to both Bury and Colchester at home). They have won their other three home matches and entertain a Rochdale side who are level with them on 17 points. Most of Rochdale’s good work is done at Spotland with them picking up just 5 of their 17 points on the road and a longer view is Rochdale generally don’t travel well. The Blades have won all 4 previous meetings in recent years and I’m taking them to get back to winning ways today.
Back Sheffield United (11-10 Betfred) (NB)
