I’VE said before I hate the way UEFA have split the Euro qualifiers over three nights and it’s great to see the finishing line in sight.

From a betting point of view with most people preferring to pick teams playing on the same day it restricts choice and with so many short-priced countries on the coupon you have to work hard to find value.

Take Friday’s Super Single for example. I said best bet was England to win to nil and also advised -2AH but for value I took England -2 and it was a goal short.

My Top Treble was a disaster with none out of three even though Slovakia, Slovenia and Cork were all short prices. Who was it said goals bets were the way to go – I’ll try to listen harder.

The only good thing about the Slovakia result is the fact they are perceived to be Scotland’s main rivals for second spot behind England in World Cup qualifying and a home defeat by Belarus must give Gordon Strachan some food for thought on a day when McBookie priced us up at 1-7 NOT to qualify for Russia 2018.

There is another batch of Euro qualifiers tonight but I’ve mainly focused on the English league and non-league card although an early Super Single was Dunfermline to score over 1.5 goals at St Mirren in the Challenge Cup and full reasoning for that is on the Scottish betting preview.

A second pick is Peterborough at Swindon in League One. Peterborough have won two out of three under new boss Graham Westley and beat Millwall 5-3 last week while the Robins are in freefall.

These are my tips from today’s Daily Record. Don’t try to do them all and keep the long shots to low stakes.

    Wednesday Repost
    BIG NAP DOUBLE {Very strong on this}
    Crusaders v Warrenpoint
    Crusaders -1 handicap
    Linfield v Glentoran
    Linfield win
    DOUBLE PAYS 13/10

As ive stated before Crusaders are fantastic at home on their 4g pitch winning 5-0,3-0,4-0,5-0 last 4 homes against better teams than bottom placed Warrenpoint who they beat 4-1,3-0,0-3 last 3 meetings.
Top of the table Linfield are very strong at home winning 5/5 scoring 21 times and should prove too strong in this derby game against a Glentoran side who sit 13 points behind from 10 games and are second worst lg side away from home with just a single win from 5 just ahead of a very poor warrenpoint.Linfield have won 3/4 recent meetings losing none.

Crusaders -2 @ 6/5 Paddy Power for reasons stated above,id be very surprised if this isnt easily covered as i expect a pretty big win for Crusaders so id suggest taking this on a quiter than usual Saturday :)

Going against Mr F’s draw prediction on the following but i wont shout about it should it come in 😉

    Bury win @ 13/8 bet365
    Bury win/Btts @ 4/1 bet365

Bury on a run of 6 lg wins whilst Wigan have drew last 3 lg games with just 1 win from last 5,Wigans away record also leads me to believe in a home win as they have won just once losing 3 from 5 lg games,13/8 looks very inviting.
What makes me think Btts will score then? Well 5/6 of Wigans lg games has produced this and also their last 3 aways whilst Btts has come on 2/3 Bury games.
Last meeting was pretty recent back in August in the Capital One Cup and produced an away win, result 1-2 for Bury.

Sean, great stuff with the Irish tip and I’ll follow some of those.
Wigan as you say have drawn last three league games but are decent. Should be a close game.

Albania to score 2+ at Albania on Monday night 9/5. Albania will get a playoff if they draw but won’t want to take any chances. A tough away tie but they won 0-3 at Serbia, beat Portugal 0-1 & got a 0-0 in France in their away games, lost last 2 home games to nil v Portugal and Serbia though so that’s a worry but a point will put them in 2nd place on H2H’s with Denmark already finished up for campaign.

Short price good things in e FA Cup 3rd qualifying round include Maidstone, Chorley, Chippenham and Havant & Waterlooville.

The main one that caught my eye was Ryman Premier high flyers Grays Athletic away to Southern League Division One Central strugglers Hanwell Town.

Grays have had mixed fortunes recently but their earlier FA Cup results this season saw them win 5-0 and 6-0 against lower ranked opposition. Hanwell are nothing special and the 4/7 offered on the visitors may not be Super Single material but it should definitely be included in multiples.

  9. Jordan 3 years ago

Morning gents. Was an ok night with Dzyuba scoring for Russia but they only managed 2 second half goals so the team goals were void.

Mentioned this on Monday so the price may have varied. Bury are the most in form side in England and are at home to Wigan who are undefeated in their last four. They had conceded 9 goals in their last 5 prior to their draw at home to Walsall last weekend. They have conceded in every away game this season conceding 2 or more in four of their 5 away games against Gillingham, Port Vale, Chesterfield and Coventry, and now come to a side oozing with confidence with six games in a row picking up 3 points. Both sides played in the Johnstone’s Paint midweek but Bury kept top scorer Leon Clarke out of the equation with a few other changes. Clarke will be looking to make an impact once more having played for Wigan on loan from Wolves last season. Clarke has scored 4 goals in his last three with a brace against Coventry when last at Gigg Lane. Sitting in 3rd they’ll be hoping for point shared at Burton which would see Bury go top if they beat Wigan.

    Dutch Topklasse Saturday:

    Kozakken Boys v DVS (13.30)

    Kozakken Boys over 2.5 team goals @ 2.00 with 888 / uni-bet

Before the Dutch national team is fighting for their last chance to get to France in Kazachstan we have some Topklasse games in the highest ‘amateur’ league in the country. Kozakken Boys play DVS who have been promoted and playing their first season on this level. Kozakken Boys won this league last year and are one of the title contenders this year. They have some decent goalscorers with Eloisghiri (3) and Grot (5) who are both fit to play. They also have two experienced players with Yoann de Boer and Alje Schut who played hundreds of games in the proffesional leagues. DVS have conceded 17 in 7 this season with 11 (5-2 & 1-6 loss) coming in their last 2 games against other high ranked teams Barendrecht and Katwijk. DVS have the 2nd worse defence in this league. Kozakken Boys had 3 home games this season and scored 3+ in 2 of them. They scored 16 in 7 games. Over 2.5 goals is priced at 1.35 in this game and I think the home side will be able to cover this by themselves, so I will take the team goals.

Mroning gents – as you know I absolutely hate the Interantional break, not just for the fact you get reduced cards for 5 days bit the fixtures lists are decimated in the run up to it and the week after it so all in your taking about 2 weeks! Of interruption! If I had my way i would cancel all international football! :)

Had a good look through today’s lower league English games:

    Northampton v Hartlepool KO 3pm

After a sticky period, Northampton have turned into genuine promotion contenders! They are unbeaten in their last 5 collecting 3 wins and draws but what stands out is the quality of the oppostion they have picked up points against! Today’s visitors you could argue are in free fall! After a promising start they’ve now won just one of their last 8 league matches and come into this after heavy defeats at home to Luton and Bristol Rovers! To further compliment Northampton, they are unbeaten in the last 8 meetings here against Hartlepool ( 5 wins 3 draws ) – this couls be another long afternoon for the visitors

Sheffield United v Rochdale KO 3pm

The hosts have had patchy league form recently but they have played some inform teams during that time ( lost to both Bury and Colchester at home) – they have won their other three home matches and entertain a Rochdale side who are level with them on 17 points! Most of Rochdales good work is done at Spotland with them picking up just 5 of their 17 points on the road and a longer view is Rochdale generally don’t travel well! The blades have won all 4 previous meetings in recent years and I’m taking them to get back to winning ways today!

Sean, what’s your opinion on Portadown – Ballymena United? I like btts&over. I got 5/6 on Bet365. Statistics from last 6-7 years shows that with very few exceptions…all the games went btts/over. I like this bet but will be glad to hear your thoughts on that…

    • Sean Ireland 3 years ago

Gimbo, Btts and overs certainly looks nailed on in that game given recent 4 meetings have produced both, showing 1-3,5-5,2-1 and 3-2 also this season shows Portadowns last 3 homes have covered both overs and btts and 4/5 homes also and bbts has come in Ballymena’s last 6 lg games and overs in 4 of last 5.
Looks a great shout Gimbo and should come in given form and stats,Good Luck with your bet.

    Geel’s 4 away games (1-0, 2-1, 3-3, 2-1)

Both teams drew 1-1 midweek but before that, they’d both had 4 games in a row of over 2.5 goals. I see no reason why both teams who can score and also struggle at the back won’t do the same today.

H2H is mixed, with 4 of the 6 meetings going over 2.5 goals, although the last meeting ended 0-0!

I’m happy to take a punt on over 2.5 goals at 4/5.

Tip. Mansfield vs Newport County, Mansfield to win.

19/20 for the stags to win today and Im not sure why the odds are so good, reasons being.

We’ve kept 3 clean sheets in the last five. Only succumbing to a tight 1nil loss away at Luton. Drawing to top of the league Plymouth and winning the other 3 scoring 10 in the process.

We’ve also conceded the least amount of second half goals in all the divisions I think just 2.

We sit 7th in the league and 4th in the form guide. In contrast Newport are rock bottom of the division
division with just seven for and 19 against.

Think almost even on the stags looks a great price

Interesting point fixit. I know it can rally a group of players, but Mansfield are on a high atm, especially after being 3-1 down at half time last week and coming back to win 4-3 shows the grit we have at the minute.

Found some good value going through the card last night and this morning. Combine your own studying and take what you like from it

    Morton O1.5 team goal (9/4, bet365)

    – Morton scored 7 goals in their past 3 away games.
    – QOS conceded 13 goals in 5 home games this season.
    – Last game finished 2-2 so goals likely

    Swindon/Peterborough BTTS (8/15, bet365)

    – Over 80% ofPeterborough’s games hitting BTTS this season.
    – Over 60% of swindons games hitting BTTS this season

    Cheltenham O1.5 team goals (10/11, bet365)

    – 16 goals in 7 away games for Cheltenham including 9 in their past 2 aways.
    – Gateshead kept 1 clean sheet at home this season in 7 games, conceding 2 or more in 3 of these (2 of their most recent homes)

Good morning everyone, after last week’s delve into the anytime goalscorer bet I am back with, hopefully, another two anytime goalscorers. First match is first v second in League one. Tom Bradshaw is my first ags against top of the league Burton Albion. Bradshaw has scored five in the league so far and three in the league trophy competition. Bradshaw can deliver at home,in what could be a cracker. Bradshaw(Walsall) anytime goalscorer 9/5 Betfair. Secondly in the ags market I am going to pick a Peterborough player with four league goals to his name as Peterborough travel to Swindon. Lee Angol can add to his four goals as free scoring “Posh” visit a struggling Swindon side who have not quite got it together yet. Lee Angol(Peterborough United) anytime goalscorer 15/8 Ladbrokes. Just out of interest I am going to take Tom Bradshaw(Walsall) as a FIRST GOALSCORER as I think 9/2(skybet) is good value for a proven goalscorer, in my opinion. Good luck

    Straightforward NAP for me today:

The Mighty Shakers…home win at 13/8…NAP.

No time to churn stats out but suffice to say recent form has been excellent and sees us top of the football league ‘power’ rankings (set contextually against strength of opposition).

Like Jordan, quite fancy us to net twice but on the off-chance we sneak a 1-0, as we did against Coventry, will still scoop the loot.

    Good luck today lads.

    -2 handicap – crusaders-2 – 5/6

    -2 Asian handicap – crusaders – 1.525

    -2, -2.5 Asian handicap – crusaders – 1.700

What’s the difference between standard and Asian and what’s meant by the -2,-2.5 AH?

Just learning the ropes at the moment.

In response to a previous question. Re the early Macclesfield Kidderminster game. Kiddie are a local team to me and in awful form really. I wouldn’t be confident in a goals bet even of over1.5 and whilst form suggests a Macclesfield win I’m going nowhere near the game

Heading off to Glencairn v Clydebank in the West of Scotland Cup.
Apparently it’s non-league day in England so why not up here too.
If you’re looking for a game to go to I’ll see you at Rutherglen.
Good look to everyone with all of their bets today.
I’m working at the Sunday Mail tonight so won’t be about much until late on.

RichB, generally speaking there is no draw in Asian so if it’s a draw your stake is returned.
Google Asian Handicaps explained and it will give you all the gen and explain the difference between -2 and -2,-2.5 etc.

  72. Grintler 3 years ago

I’ve seen every Peterborough home game this season. I would be very careful about backing us today.

The Milwall result and score wasn’t a true reflection on the game, Milwall levelled at 2-2 and then pushed on and on for the win and we got them on the break twice but in truth they dominated most of the game. I fancy us to get goals but our back 4, plus an injured goalkeeper is not a recipe for clean sheets so I would rather be on goals than a Posh win today.

Also in regards to the Lee Angol anytime scorer, he’s a striker officially but last few games he’s been playing in a wide role and barely got into the box so for value go for Maddison if playing as takes all free kicks, pens and shoots on sight.

Have earned 2x £2 free bets with Ladbrokes FOBT promotion (£5 coupon bet = £2 FOBT bet)

    Free bet 1, games at

St Mirren, Peterhead, Queens Park, QoS : BTTS £2 pays £13.58 minus free bet stake = £11.58.

    Free bet 2, games at
Barnet, Yeovil, Luton, York : BTTS £2 pays £15.45 minus free bet stake = £13.45

If your shop’s anything like mine, you’ll probably have to remind staff about the free bet promotion when you put your coupon bet on, despite the TV ads, giant posters in the window, ads on coupons and betting receipts. Don’t be embarrassed to ask. Two quid is two quid.

Apologies I’ve just seen my bet 3 is actually gregs goals treble. I’m just posting on here what are some of my current bets copied straight of my fone. Got that many on I didn’t realise that was his selection and not mine. Here’s hoping for a winner anyhow

Bet 18: Michael Moffat (Dunfermline) Anytime Goalscorer @ 31/20 (0.5 units)

Bet 19: St Mirren v Dunfermline Athletic, Over 3.5 goals 2/1(0.5 units)

    Bet 20: Double (1.50 units)
St Mirren v Dunfermline Athletic, Over 2.5 goals @ 3/4
    Peterhead v Stenhousemuir, Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13

These Internationals have murdered my profit but I don’t think I am alone there. Dunfermline have a lot of firepower with El Bakhtaoui, Cardle and even Antione-Curier at times getting on the scoresheet. Moffat chips in too and has done well in the challenge cup so I think its worth a punt today. Also Dunfermline have goals in them I am taking a chance on over 3.5 match goals as they are not exactly watertight at the back.

Tiptopterry. Noticed you had some constructive criticism for me yesterday. That’s fine, but if you’re going to try and make me look bad, at least do it when my numbers are bad and not showing profit? You also seem to forget I have posted continuous profit over the last 5 months on this thread since posting my totals and won myself and punters multiple amounts on the NBA in the months before on the other sports thread. My total points profited for the year are over 400 but if you want to run your mouth, go ahead. I don’t care if you follow me or not. Good luck with your bets.

    Euro 2016 Qualifying – 7:45PM

Belgium can qualify tonight with 3 points and they’ll be hoping they can get it done against perhaps one of the worst teams in the competition. You sort of wonder why teams like Andorra and Gibraltar etc bother in these competitions, but I suppose it makes for a bit of cash from the tv rights and the stories they can tell their grandchildren when they’re older playing against European legends. Anyway, enough about ridiculing the lesser countries football talent.

Realistically Belgium should win and win big tonight, beating Andorra 6-0 in the home leg, but I’d be worried by the fact they’ve only scored 3 goals away from home in the competition. Vincent Kompany is a major doubt as is Jason Denayer so Belgium we be weaker at the back, but I’m not sure it’ll matter. For Andorra, the long wait for a first point in European Championship qualifying continues as they have lost every single qualifier since making their debut in 1998, a run of 48 matches. The home side will also be dealing with three suspensions to starting players.

In attack for the Belgians, Wilmots has a host of talent to chose from with Lukaku and De Bruyne both in fine form in their domestic league, I was tempted by the Belgium handicap or goals which you can get -3 @ 10/11, or Over 3.5 Team Goals as big as 3/4 @ Marathon, which is a fairly good price considering the minnows to superstar ratio involved but I’ve looked a bit deeper.

Andorra average 0.75 corners per game, with a total of 6 corners in their 8 games played so far. That is the lowest in the competition with the next in line being Liechtenstein with 10. They also concede an average of 8.88 corners per game, with Belgium averaging 7.5 corners themselves. The Belgians had no less than 12 in the home leg to Andorra’ 0, with the Andorrans giving up 8 (Cyprus) 12 (Israel) 6 (Bosnia) and 8 (Wales) to the away sides in the group.

365 have given a corner handicap of -6.5 and I think this is possible with the lesser teams being dominant over Andorra when visiting. Belgium play with a lot of width and average the 4th most corners per game in the competition. Obviously you need just as much luck for corners as you do with any other bet but I’d much rather take them to cover -6.5 on the corners rather than the 4 goals.

    Belgium -6.5 Asian Corner Handicap @ 9/10 @ 365 – 2.5 points

  95. darran 3 years ago

i think bromleys a fAckin steal @ 3-2 DO WHAT

  96. Jordan 3 years ago

If the handicap doesn’t float your boat you can take Belgium Over 8.5 corners @ EVS @ 365 or wait for the RT9 when markets appear 5 minutes or so before kick off but I won’t be here to advise it. RT7 will probably be too short.

Good luck with your bets gents.

Is there any reason my “BTTS & Win accumulator” with Bet365 hasn’t offered the cash-out option to me since the matches have kicked off?

I had one midweek that I cashed out on at around 60th minute for a massive profit even though the accumulator wasn’t yet winning and ended up losing.

Is there any chance Bet365 are stopping the option for the cash out for this type of reason?

Why do bet365 regularly on a Saturday not cover the odd National League (conference) game Inplay? Today is Dover v Wrexham. They have other NL games Inplay but not this one. This never seems to happen on a weekday match but often does on a Saturday. Any ideas why?

  115. stagger 3 years ago

Smurf, yeah I noticed the Dover game missing. As its in one of my bets I went to futbol24 and put the score in a new tab, refreshing every so often. 365 also ignoring all Scottish games, got flashscore up in another tab and following it on there.

Its a nuisance because I like 365‘s screen for following my picks, good layout.

  208. Danny T 3 years ago

Phillis there are to many different things you would have to cover mate really. You have two options take the money and reinvest some on BTTS and Turkey win or take the money and be happy with that as its a great lift. You could wait to Inplay and hope that BTTS is in the first half which you could then cover with Croatia double chance . Or let it run . Hope that helps but ultimately the choice is yours I would be inclined to wait 20 mins into the game see how it starts I fancy turkey as they need to win after the Dutch win earlier

  209. Jacksonator 3 years ago

  215. Bluemooner1894 3 years ago

    Hi guys …. I’m waiting on a Wales draw 4 150/1 treble ….
Wat does anyone think is the best way to cover this & still obviousy get some kind of payout?

  216. Jacksonator 3 years ago

Phillis that’s a tricky one – very nervy. As Danny says though that’s the trouble with BTTS and result that it makes it quite difficult to cover. As stated hope for a couple of early goals ideally one each which makes the cover possible. Or might bring the cash out value higher. I always find cash out values are crap however unless you are right at the death which makes them pointless anyway

  217. Jacksonator 3 years ago

Bluemooner is your bet a draw in the Wales game. If so then cover on the 1 2 market which basically means a home or away win

  218. Danny T 3 years ago

Cool dude I know that when Italy were one up BTTS was 13/8 so could imagine that before the game it would have been around 2/1 also

  219. Phillis 3 years ago

  256. Jordan 3 years ago

Brooky, Colorado look to be giving a few rotation players a start as their season is over and can’t make the playoff. Drogba and Piatti starting for Montreal but playing only 2 days ago I’d take caution. Especially with it being played in Denver which is high altitude. Montreal also missing a few players for the Olympic qualifiers. Head says Drogba or Piatti Anytime for Montreal but its a no bet game for me.

1 goal shy in the Brazilian U 20 double…sorry if anyone followed – some cover available but ultimately…LOST.

Night Owl and I’m off to Guatemala…

In brief, the home side sit 3rd and play a side who languish 2nd bottom but can – and do – score a goal.

Over 3.5 appealed but that is maybe pushing it…I’ll settle on Over 2.5 match goals at 4/5. Braver souls might look at COMUNICACIONES to win and BTTS which pays 12/5.

    Good luck

    00:30 Tip.

    USA NASL league.

Tampa Bay Rowdies v OTTAWA FURY.

Ottawa are priced over evens at 2.15. They are top of the domestic league and on excellent form, playing Tampa, who sit 8th out of a league of 11.

Ottawa have four straight victories and an NASL record 9-match road unbeaten streak. Ottawa have won six straight on the road and can set another NASL record if they can make it seven.

Ottawa have the best away record, playing 7 – W6 D1 L0, scoring 16 and conceding just 4 thus far away from home.

Whilst Tampa have played 8 at home W4 D1 L3 – scoring 12 and conceding 11 at home.

Tampa have only won one game of their last 5 in the league and that was against a team below them.

They do seem to score at home so it’s likely to be a BTTS and away win.

The fixture history over the past year has seen 2 draws and an away win for Ottawa 0-2.

Ottawa have lost just one game from 16 so far, so priced at 2.15 seems a good price.

Oddschecker isn’t giving us markets for the Confed Cup game being played in Pasadena tonight but I think we could have a good game here. The tie between Mexico and USA will likely see the 93000+ stadium full to the brim to see the winner and team that will represent the North American region at the 2017 Confederations Cup, battling world-class opposition while touring the 2018 World Cup host nation.

Ricardo Ferretti has only been in charge for two of Mexico’ friendlies which saw both sides score and over 2.5 match goals against Trinidad (3-3) and Argentina (2-2). I’m hoping we see a similar kind of game tonight. Klinsmann has a host of US talent to chose from but has never really adapted a style of keeping goals out of their own net and having conceded in 5 of their last 6 games under the German. This was set to be the Gold Cup final but the US defence just wasn’t up to it, losing out to Panama in a penalty shootout in the semi final. With the prize on the line both sides should be going all out for victory with two meaningless friendlies for both sides later next week.

BTTS has a chance but I fancy goals here.
