IT was another profitable Saturday but I feel a bit hard done by. I posted winners at 8-5, 4-1 and 15-1 but it could have been more.
Brighton was the 8-5 Super Single success, my both to score treble landed at 4-1 and three out of four aways paid 15-1. I was a Raith goal away from a 37-1 four-timer and my Scots both to score treble I included in the Daily Record was a winner but I left it off the site.
Bournemouth’s loss to 10-man Sunderland beat the Top Treble as well as the homes along with Sheffield Wednesday and a second, more speculative 5-1 SS was a loser as Dundee United defeated QoS but not in the low scorer I expected.
There were winners all over the site and for the second week running Selectabet was the star of the show. His goals bets for members provided a 22.28pts profit and a second full house running means if you followed him over the past fortnight you’d be 38.78pts up.
Greg Browning and Desmond picked two winners out of three and only Scott Allot missed out – but he won’t be feeling the pain as he was at the World Darts in Glasgow last night enjoying a refreshment or two.
Jordan didn’t post anything for Saturday but check out his Sunday tips.
Sunday’s another busy one with five Premier League matches including Arsenal v Spurs, Swansea v Man United and Liverpool v Watford. In Scotland it’s Ross County v Rangers and there are nine FA Cup first-round ties.
In the 12 noon kick-off I expect Arsenal to win. They’ve looked in good nick while Spurs have been struggling for goals in the absence of Harry Kane. The England man is in the squad but unlikely to start. Arsenal are 20-21 with McBookie and those odds have dropped.
Southampton should beat a Hull side on a horror run if their Thursday win against Inter hasn’t taken too much out of them. Saints are no bigger than 8-11 with Marathonbet and for an away it’s a poor price.
Liverpool are even shorter at home to Watford but that’s understandable while Man United won’t find too many backers at odds on at Swansea.
Leicester’s home form has been superb and they are on the verge of a Champions League last-16 place. They entertain West Brom and even without keeper Kasper Schmeichel look a bit of value at 4-5 with William Hill and Betfred.
There are loads of top matches on the Continent and I can see Sevilla, who have a 100 per cent La Liga home record with five wins from five, beating or at least drawing at home to Barcelona and that will be a Super Single. Barca looked vulnerable against Man City in midweek and have a long injury list including Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta.
A second SS is French Ligue 1 leaders Nice who like too big at struggling Caen who have lost four in a row and sit in the drop zone. Nice lost in the Europa League at home to Salzburg but domestically have been almost perfect and maybe that result’s a sign they’re focusing fully on a title challenge.
For my Top Treble from a shortlist of about 10 I’m taking Juventus at Chievo, Red Bull Leipzig at home to Mainz and Schalke at home to Werder Bremen.
Serie A leaders Juve are in decent nick and should win at a Chievo outfit with no wins in four. Juve have won there on their last four visits.
Red Bull continue to defy the critics and the cash-rich promoted side remain unbeaten and just two points behind Bayern Munich. Mainz will give them a test but confidence must have been shattered by their 6-1 Europa League defeat by Anderlecht in midweek.
Complete the treble with a Schalke side who lost their first five league games but are unbeaten in eight. Werder Bremen have lost their last two by 3-1 – in fact both teams have scored in their previous six.
Looking at the h2h the last four meetings have seen both score so let’s stick it on the goals treble – even though at their best Schalke are capable of keeping it clean.
Add Celta Vigo v Valencia with both sides scoring and conceding plenty in recent weeks. Celta’s last six have featured 32 goals while Valencia have saw both score in five out of six and have netted on their last four visits to Vigo, winning 5-1 there last season.
Finally, put in Sevilla v Barcelona which should be a cracker and the last four league meetings in Sevilla have saw both on target – 2-3, 1-4, 2-2 and 2-1.
