IT'S not always easy to pick Europa League results but the tournament's often a goals haven .. and so it proved again.
I picked a both to score treble from the early games and it landed at 15-4 with only one game failing to produce. With five of my six teams netting in the first half I sacrificied 1pt covering Rapid Vienna not to score and they left it late before netting not once but twice at Sassuolo.
Greg Browning did even better as his Nap and overs series bet for members only won. And there were some good winners posted by regulars so well done to all winners.
My WDW treble was a letdown and next time I'll try to stick to goals. Nice and Villarreal losing at home were shocks and the French side's failure was gutting for Jordan.
I planned to repeat the Super Single I posted a couple of weeks ago – Zenit and over 2.5 match goals – but it was too short this time. Instead I picked Zenit -2AH and Sparta Prague not to lose.
Zenit needed another goal to void that part of the bet but fair play to Dundalk for once again defying the odds and incredibly they've scored in all four of their group games. That's three out of three Super Single losers this month so it's time to address that.
Friday sees Aberdeen travel to Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership while Brentford entertain Fulham in the English Championship and there are a couple of FA Cup first-round matches.
I've posted a football preview which includes thoughts on Hertha Berlin v Borussia M'gladbach but at first glance nothing much stands out.
Other games include Malaga v Sporting Gijon in Spain, Montpellier v Marseille in France and of course there are Jupiler League and French Ligue 2 matches to consider.

Morning folks. I follow the matches in Australia primarily for booking points. One thing I have noticed is that there are loads of bookings, particularly second half bookings. I’ve seen 1 first half booking turning into 80+ booking points with regularity. So reefs are patient to a point then start going card crazy. Worth watching for if you can get on in play or better still at half time.

I like the odds for Heerenveen team goals in Rotterdam tonight. Heerenveen (4th) play some really good football at the moment. They scored as many goals as Ajax (24) and even more than PSV. They scored in every game this season and 2+ in 8 of their 11 games. They have an average of 2.33 team goals away from home and scored 2+ in all but one away games this season, only netting once at NEC Nijmegen. Sparta started well after their promotion last season, but are now without a win in their last 5 games conceding 8 goals. They also miss some important players in Pinteaux, Van Moorsel and Sanusi.

Just the one bet for me today and with a bit of research in my beloved Denmark, I am going for a BTTS double in the two super league games this evening.
First up an Esbjerg team in complete disarray. After being 2-0 up last time out and losing 6-2 they must be feeling wounded. There is no doubt that they give it 100% but ultimately the players are not good enough. The sports director has promised new players come January and those who don’t want in are free to go!!
Their manager a Colin Todd, has promised rotation tonight. Their first choice keeper is benched, I’m not surprised after the howler he had last time out.
So the lads coming in should at least be committed to the cause.
Now their opponents Aab are in a similar state having lost 4/5 and drawing the other, not impressive for a team with some quality.
They will want and expect nothing less than 3 points against basement boy’s Esbjerg.

I was just about to post the 4 games at 5.30pm in the Austrian Erste Liga look pretty good for Greg’s early goals bet. Hopefully I will get on this after getting out of work and will be having a go on France Ligue 2 also. As we know not a great league for goals but any win would be a very good one on this league.

One out of two this morning down under with Maclaren getting his goal after his call up to the international side. Busy this weekend so getting picks ready and I’m skipping Saturday altogether.
Last week I backed Watford to score twice against a Hull side who were struggling with injuries and fatigue. While they only scored once, they threw everything but the kitchen sink at a shaky Hull defence. Southampton obviously played yesterday and did well to come from behind and get the three points against a fancied Inter side. Hull could be in real trouble if they keep piling up the losses so while they should have some fight in them, Southamptons squad should prove too good.
The MLS playoffs are back for the last eight second legs. Toronto FC travel to NYCFC with two goals in the last 10 minutes from the first leg, so NYCFC have it all to do. Lucky for them they have a good scoring record at home against Toronto who aren’t keeping clean sheet on the road this season. Lucky for them though they are scoring. Their last nine road games have seen BTTS with seven going over 2.5 and two of three contests in New York have also seen this market land. David Villa has scored four goals in the three contests at home against Toronto, also missing a penalty. Villa has scored 13 of their 35 at home this season and if they want to progress they’ll need a strong showing. Most coaches would probably try to hold a 2-0 lead on the road, but this is the MLS.

I’ve already stated my case for a possible betting niche over the last few days and it really is about turning over as many stones as you can to try and find a market that (potentially) pays a little too generously.
The Bolivian 2nd halves are goal-heavy in comparison to the first 45…fact.
Having watched a lot of the Bolivian games, this isn’t a fluke or coincidence – it’s all about the style of play and how it changes in the 2nd half
It also correllates directly with copious bookings,reds, etc that are commonplace in the latter 45 coupled with ‘heads-gone’ decisions being made by both players and referees alike.

Emelec game finished a disapointing 2-1 and a goal shy of both bets…apologies to anyone on…really thought the home side would have made more of that game.
Just back in after seeing my team Den Bosch win the local derby at RKC, hurray! Shame to see Heerenveen only got one goal after scoring early on.
Saturday, off out to my 2nd REAL Lanarkshire derby tomorrow so mite not get a chance to stick these up, will be my second trip to a derby at cliftonville this year, for anyone who doesn’t know about this fixture it is pure hatred of each other (wont go into the politics or history) but loved the atmosphere 1st time around so going to sample the “buckie derby” again………… mark wilson ex celtic player has just taken over as Airdrie manager and Gordon Dalziel ex rangers/raith rovers/man city player and ayr manager has taken over as director of football so fully expect Airdrie to be up for it………….
