HOW much have you guys missed me? I’ll probably find out the answer after Saturday’s matches.

In fact you might even be chanting “Bring back Scott McAlpine” but I don’t know if the staff at The Priory will sanction his release.

Anyway here goes with the five to follow and I’m kicking off with Chelsea at Swansea. I’m aware the Welsh scored a fine cup win at Liverpool in midweek but that was against a weakened side.

Title-challenging Chelsea will provide a different proposition and they will be desperate to get back on track after last week’s unlucky league defeat to Man United with nine men.

Chelsea showed their class by seeing off United in the cup in midweek and their brand of football should be too good for Swansea who have only picked up one win in the league since a good start.

I’m siding with the big guns in the EPL and taking Man City at West Ham. The Hammers were poor in losing at Wigan last week and it’s a day when City will be desperate to win to keep pace with the top two.

In the Championship the best bets could be Birmingham who host an Ipswich side who sacked Paul Jewell after a terrible run. Ipswich have lost four in a row while Brum are improving after a poor spell and last week’s win at Leeds will have boosted confidence.

Mick McCarthy has come in to steady the ship at Town but it could take a few weeks before he sees results.

It’s difficult finding value in the FA Cup with so many short-priced favourites. Many will be lumped on in accumulators and one of those sides are League One Bournemouth who entertain Dagenham and Redbridge.

Bournemouth have been rattling in the goals – 10 in three outings against decent opponents in Carlisle, Notts County and Tranmere. Dagenham, who have never won at Bournemouth, have been victorious in just one in five outings and this could be a mismatch.

It’s a similar story in the William Hill Scottish Cup but one side who could provide value are Raith Rovers who travel to First Division rivals Airdrie.

The Diamonds have conceded 10 goals in two games – 17 in four – even though they bounced back well from a 7-0 defeat at Partick Thistle to win 4-3 at Dumbarton with two late goals.

Rovers beat Airdrie 2-0 earlier in the season and are unbeaten in four. They should go to New Broomfield and beat a side that seems to have forgotten how to defend.

I know the matches are not strictly all in one day, but gone for four fold Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and West Brom – all to win. Tenner pays about £80

  2. nobby 6 years ago

Paul what you reckon for Leeds tonight, BTTS?

  3. robbie d 6 years ago

Striker- that’s good vlaue. I strongly fancy all four.
Anyone reckon Newcastle are way overpriced at 5/1? Personally, i reckon a draw, but that’s a very tempting price.

Amo, it’s got to have a chance but I wouldn’t be putting £100 on a fourfold. You’d be better perming them or leave out Bournemouth, who are short, and perm the other three.

Clarks, I was on van Persie plus Bale. Andrew Shinnie has netted four in his last two games against Killie so is worth a look and McGinn has netted in his last five SPL matches.

  27. Craig alves 6 years ago

betvictor refunding your 1st spincast for a fiver, av took RVP anytime/over 2.5gls/man utd 31/10, nothing to lose :)

Cheryl, I like them both to be honest although could be tight games. But good luck if you go against them.

  29. Bingo 6 years ago

£5 on Boro 9/5, Peterborough 16/5, Villa 3/1 and Alloa 14/1 returns £3528…. Hav it Willy Hill!!!

  30. Bingo 6 years ago

For goal scorers I’ve got RVP 10/11 (already done the business I see), Benteke 9/4, Hazard 7/4, Bale 6/4, Messi 2 or more 10/11, Ronaldo 2 or more 10/11. £5 returns £777.33..
