boxing

ANOTHER busy weekend of British boxing is almost upon us and the main event is the “Bad Blood” heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora.

Also on the Saturday night fight bill in London is the compelling bout that sees Billy Joe Saunders take on Chris Eubank Junior, who's out to show he can pack a punch like his old man.

Coral have signed up as official sponsor of the card and they make Fury the 2-5 favourite in the feature event with Dereck Chisora 2-1. Eubank Junior is also the marginal underdog at 6-5 while Saunders shades favouritism at 4-6.

More prices are included below and all the action will be broadcast live on Box Nation’s subscription-based TV channel as well as on Talksport Radio.

As for the Friday sporting action, the darts Players Championship Finals get under way and the pick of the matches is a Dutch dust-up between last year's winner Michael van German and compatriot Raymond van Barneveld. Star names Phil Taylor, James Wade, Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson are also at the oche on a packed day of first-round ties.

There's also plenty of betting opportunities with UK Championship snooker, Australian Open golf, rugby union, cricket and NBA and NHL throughout the day.

Post your own sporting tips and chat here.

These are all thoughts and by no means my picks for the weekend. Just early thoughts for now.

I’m thinking Baltimore/Pittsburgh ML Double for the 6:00PM’s @ EVS

Patriots +3 @ EVS as a single for the late kick off (All 3 @ 3/1)

    SNF single on the Broncos @ 4/5 (All 4 @ 6/1)

    MNF on Miami -7 @ 10/11

£5 bonkers bet on the teams I think will win on Sunday and Monday at first glance.

    Cincinnati Bengals @ 5/9
    Baltimore Ravens @ 10/27
    Pittsburgh Steelers @ 5/11
    New York Giants @ 4/6
New England Patriots (+3.0) @ EVS
    Denver Broncos @ 4/5
    Miami Dolphins @ 5/16

    7 fold pays 47/2

    Again, only pricing up options.

Pittsburgh on the spread is worth taking too. Anything under 6 points will be a good bet. Saints can’t stop the run and they sure as hell won’t be able to stop Le’Veon Bell so the yards might be an option. I’d expect them to be at least 100 after running over 200 yards against the Titans. Note Pittsburgh have had 10 days rest where as the Saints played Monday and were battered by the Baltimore run game in the dome (who incidentally were beaten 43-23 in Pittsburgh’s last game at the Heinz). Even then, they still have to stop Big Ben and Antonio Brown. Blowout alert.

What site do you use to get a market on Yards? I am on Bet365 and can not find it.

Jordan, just want to say THANKS for your SS for Lynch to rush over 70.5 yards. Whilst Dallas let down your treble, I pit most my stake on Lynch and it came through. You know your NFL mate…appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Hardly know my NFL mate but I try to study it as much as possible. Thank you for the kind gesture and don’t worry about it mate :)

    • Jack 9 years ago

Yeah thanks Jordan, I lost money backing Dallas but I made twice as much off of your Lynch tip :)
Knew I should have backed the Seahawks too! At least I didn’t lose anything on it I suppose…

Neil can’t see what bookie you use bust most with give you prop bets at some point during the days leading up to the games.

    Le’Veon Bell (Steelers) over 85.5 rush yards @ 10/11 @ Skybet

I’ll take that on a smaller stake.

Is anyone interested in any darts tips?

    • Mr Fixit 9 years ago

darts, yes. Darts is popular on the site.

  7. Jordan 9 years ago

I’m taking that on a smaller stake because there will probably be a lower total with the same price by tomorrow.

Over 5 games the Saints have allowed 652 rush yards averaging 130.4 per game. Their last 3 games have all been home games which they’ve lost, with each opponents first string RB rushing for over 120 yards (the highest being Forsett who I tipped to rush over 76.5 yards on MNF who totaled 182 yards and 2 TD’s) They play Pittsburgh at the Heinz field on a 5 day rest and the Steelers on their bye haven’t played since the 17th of November where they came back from 24-13 down to win 27-24 in the 4th quarter in Tennessee.

The 22 year old Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell had 204 rushing yards, with 33 carries averaging 6.2 yards per carry on the night with 1 TD. A career high and only in his 2nd season. He ranks 4th best overall RB in the league after being overtaken last night by Marshawn Lynch (but we didn’t mind) I expect him to take the 3rd spot back and possibly more if he has a big game on Sunday.

The Steelers released their second string RB LeGarrette Blount in, who walked off the field early on in their comeback against the Titans. 6 days later Blount walked into the n zone as a Patriot.

With Blount gone, Le’Veon on rest and coming off a career high, the Saints as awful as they are at stopping the run, and the Steelers scoring 124 points in 3 games at the Heinz, I’m hoping Bell can ground and pound and we can wave our terrible towels :) I’ll post other markets that become available.

sounded like Kap was awful! im glad i benched him in fantasy!
liking your steelers bet, i just dont rate the saints, it was all looking good for them a couple of weeks ago with the majority of their games being in the dome but now that place isnt a fortress anymore!!

  15. boxingfan 9 years ago

    Billyjoe Saunders on points
    Tyson fury on points

  16. honda 9 years ago

    How bout dem seahawks haha

    • Jordan 9 years ago

Despite low scoring I thought it was a good game honda. For the hawks anyway :D Love Sherman getting two picks after all the sish that went down last time haha, Lynch doing the business.

  17. Attila 9 years ago

I’m going to do the following NBA 5 fold acca (anyone see any issues?):

    – Warriors, Thunder, Spurs, Lakers & Pacers @ $3.75 odds.

I get stake back of 1 leg fails with a special offer. Looks pretty safe to me!

  18. lets play darts!! 9 years ago

Bonkers bet j.wade to beat j.klassen 6-3 10/3 theyve played 6 times an twice that score line has been. Plus its the most common score line of the night so far

  19. honda 9 years ago

Lovely stuff Jordan lovely stuff, look forward to seein the selections for tmoro alredy on dolphins spread. Cant really comment on much really apart from my team. Gonna have a look in a bit see if i can find somethin saucy lol

  20. Jordan 9 years ago

I’m liking Pittsburgh 5 or more TD’s @ 11/5 at the moment. Or Pittsburgh to score in all quarters @ 6/4. Going to spread my bets out as I do on Sunday’s. Many saucy bets this weekend haha

  21. honda 9 years ago

Aye looks orite, I think a Denver Miami ML double at 1.5/1 looks orite nice and simple at 6/4….think thats what it equals I think lol Packers game tough to find value and Arsenal look decent at 17/20, wait 10-15 mins take it at EVS or near that. What you lookin at for sauce?

    • Jordan 9 years ago

I think the Pats win outright although I’m a cheesehead! I’ve explained why in my weekend post ;) Broncos should win but it won’t be by much I don’t think. I’ve put the Chiefs alternative handicap in my bonkers bet :) Few other prop bets which I’m going to take, just waiting for more markets to open on them as there’s only a couple on each at the moment.

  22. Mlac 9 years ago

    crawford points 8/13

    frankie gavin points 8/13

    liam walsh 1/2

Tyson fury and billy joe are both very very tough to call.

i expect fury to win on points @7/4 but im also going with chisora KO as backup at 9/2 ( furys chin is suspect)

Same with billy joe although im less confident of him winning on points @11/8, it would be the logical choice

BUT i have a feeling Eubank Jr is going to walk through him and get a tko in the mid to late rounds 9/4.

decent odds for him to win at 11/10 as well.

    • Mlac 9 years ago

  24. Gazza83 9 years ago

What do u think DeAndre and Jordan?
    Warriors -3.5
    OCT -2.5
    Toronto -3
    Lakers
    4.5/1

  25. Attila 9 years ago

I’ve researched more and gone with the following 5 fold in NBA:

    – Raptors, Thunder, Pacers, Spurs & Warriors @ $4.28.

I decided to lay the Lakers and put raptors in instead.

  26. Gazza83 9 years ago

Why do you not fancy the Lakers Attila?

    • Attila 9 years ago

Gazza, just don’t like picking a winner in bottom of table clashes. For 2nd last against last I thought the odds for Lakers were too short so went with TORONTO in my 5 fold instead. Lakers may well win, I just chose no to play in that game. Good luck with your 4 fold mate!

  27. lets play darts!! 9 years ago

Bad day in the end as the darts 4 fold was busted by a super comeback from klassen. And aidrian lewis refinding his old form. But thats betting for you. Theres more legs per game tommorrow which means the better players usually will prevail. Onwards and upwards tommorows another day☺

Jordan you think bell for the steelers is a confident bet?
