IT'S Thanksgiving in America on Thursday and that means one thing for sports fans – a feast of NFL action to get your teeth into.
The three-match bonanza begins with Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears both hoping to avoid playing like turkeys. Then top spot in the NFC East is up for grabs in the huge clash between Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles while play-off hopes hang in the balance as reigning Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks visit San Francisco 49ers.
In the UK Championship snooker it's lift-off for Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan who is in first-round action against Welsh underdog Daniel Wells. Defending champ Neil Robertson and Mark Allen also cue it up in York where Mark Selby, John Higgins and Jimmy White all breezed through their openers yesterday.
England lost their ODI cricket first Test to Sri Lanka yesterday and stepping up to the crease today are Pakistan and New Zealand in the third Test.
There's also top-class golf from Down Under on day two of the Australian Open in Sydney where Rory McIlroy defends the title.

Lions boast one of the best defenses in the league and being the best team at stopping the run, Matt Forte will have a tough task. Lions have lost their last two but against the Cardinals and Patriots who have 2 of the best winning records in the NFL. Before that the Lions were on a 4 game streak beating the Vikings, Saints, Falcons and Dolphins. Detroit aren’t high scorers but the Bears let Green Bay and the Pats slip over 50 points each on their last 2 road games. Stafford by no means the same level of Rodgers or Brady but he has Megatron and Golden Tate who will tear the Bears secondary apart.
Big game in the NFC East with the Eagles and Cowboys. This is a close game and pure gut feeling but I just think Cowboys are the better team overall, especially on D. I think they win outright but I’ll take the +3 for safety in the treble.
Seahawks vs Niners, again a close game. Two teams with equal records in the NFC West. The two teams hate each other. Niners aren’t looking great offensively, having only scored 20 points once in their last five games. Up against the Legion of Boom will be even more difficult with all teams on a short week. I think the Seahawks are being underestimated and are the dogs just because they’re @ the Levi’s. The Rams were 10.5 dogs when they won in the Levi’s at the start of the month with Tre Mason being the top rusher.

Both teams run the ball but the Niners pass more at home, the Seahwaks will have to do both so Wilson needs to be on his game so I’d leave that one. I’m happy with the plus 7 in the treble and the Lynch yards. I was even tempted in Wilson himself to run over 55.5 yards. Can get that @ 10/11 @ Ladbrokes. He’s gone over 70 in his last 3 games. Yes the Lions ML is the outright win.

Jordan im following you mate on lynch’s yards, the only reason i can think why they have set it so low is that its the number 1 defence vs the number 2 defence and they expect it to be a passing game, lynch is always stated as probable every week as ive heard he only does limited training the first day of the week (being old and that apparently! haha)so he should be raring to go and not injured. im just gutted im gonna miss the game

It would be rude not to have a rolling treble, The Lions host their annual thanksgiving home game and face the Bears coming of a two game winning run against Tampa and the Vikes, but prior to that they conceded 50pts on the road at Green Bay and New England. Detroit are a different proposition at Ford field and with no running game expect Stafford to air it out.
Philly and Dallas is going to be high scoring game, with the guys both have on offence. Dallas have kept Romo clean pretty much all season and while Murray gets all the credit, Romo is playing lights out, he has thrown 7tds in his last two games and if the Dallas O line keeps him clean, Dallas should win and Jerry will enjoy his turkey.
The biggest rivalry in the NFL, a repeat of last year NFC championship game, Sherman v Crabtree part 2. Pete Carrol and Jim Harbaugh were rivals in the collage game and they are now divisional rivals. This is like a derby game in football. Harbaugh is 5-0 at home against Seattle and the home team usually wins the game. I am siding with the Niners and revenge for Crabtree.

Jordan- re Romo: from what i can gather he is throwing on average fewer passes per game recently than he ever has. Obviously he’s making a lot of completions so that won’t necessarily effect is overall yardage, but I wonder if it could have something to do with where the bar is set.

This Philly – Dallas game was always going to be a high scorer, the late game is the hardest one of all to call with any certainty. Just no O line what so ever today which is a shame. Not a good game for Cowboys prop bets. Can’t fault the Eagles for the win but I don’t think they are a ‘good’ team. They’ve made an average team look poor. Eagles overacheiving in my view. Pats +3 on Sunday however will not be an overacheivment :)

I didn’t have a clue who would win, went with the boys on here as they’ve proven themselves to be good judges. When they’re all agreeing, and nearly all of the pundits I heard were saying the same thing, it was a no brainer! No guarantees in any sport at this level though.
Hopefully Lynch can beast his way to some serious yardage and we can end thanksgiving on a grateful note.
