IT'S good to return to some sort of normality after a difficult week – although in Scotland there are only four league fixtures.

Friday proved to be a good start to the weekend though as my Leipzig to score 2+ Super Single landed as did my members bet. Greg's 11-8 nap was a winner as was his top tip on goals at Top Oss – and his over series bet for members also won. Jordan also focused on Top Oss for two winners.

I've posted English and Scottish betting previews and I'm concentrating on English league games this weekend. In Scotland there are Premiership games including the lunchtime clash between Partick Thistle and Rangers ahead of Sunday's Betfred Cup Final between Celtic and Aberdeen.

Other clubs are involved in William Hill Scottish Cup ties and while there are some interesting match-ups some will bite the dust as it's been frozen up here all week. In fact four have already gone on Friday night.

I'm aiming for nine Saturday Super Single winners in a row in the Daily Record so the pressure is on. I've sided with Reading at 6-4 to beat Bristol City at home.

A second Super Single is a revitalised West Brom at struggling Hull. They are 13-8 at Paddy Power. They are also on my 43-1 aways fourfold – and on the past two Saturdays I've picked seven out of eight correctly.

Here are my top tips and remember don't try to do them all.

In the Bundesliga one has to go with Koln to beat Ausburg. Looks sure to come through, with Koln being quite decent at home..also I can say having followed Modeste this season (through one of the tipsters here..cant remember his name, sorry) I think him scoring anytime looks decent too.

    -Koln Win
    -Modeste to score

mel victory team goal and corner double won on 90th min. No penalty so one loss.

  7. flandroy 7 years ago

    melbourne victory vs newcastle
melbourne victory corners -3 at evens
this might be not an easy homework for victory, newcastle have not conceded more than 2 in their last 19 league games.
expect a lot of pressure from hosts, half-time under 1 1/4 goals is a choice as well.

I will br on Skybet offer of enhanceds odd of 6/1 for Liverpool. Leicester. and West Brom all to win

  9. davros 7 years ago

Another Skybet “requestabet” offering that is too tempting to miss is:-

Liverpool, Leicester, and West Brom all to score 3 or more goals – 66/1.

Think Liverpool and West Brom could easily achieve this, and hoping Leicester will now focus on league form after getting the job done in Europe, although Boro are no mugs obviously……
    Good luck all today!

    • cockerspaniel 7 years ago

Good spot davros i think this has a chance .

Another bet worth considering (also Skybet requestabet):

    Morning gents,

Certainly looks to be some value around today – away out for the day so quick post now.

    Team Goal 5-Fold:

    MAN CITY OVER 2.5
    WEST BROM OVER 1.5
    LIVERPOOL OVER 2.5
    NEWCASTLE OVER 2.5
    GRIMSBY OVER 1.5

    Pays 43.31/1

Focussing on the latter of these games for the main bet and the boys from Blundell Park have been quietly creeping up the League 2 table after a decent run of form and today sees them take on a Crawley side who can’t keep their legs shut.

You could say it’s a case of creepy-crawly then – but that would be a shocking pun and you’d never catch me making it.

Anyway, Grimsby have scored at least 2 goals in each of their last 4 games whilst Crawley’s last 4 games have seen them concede 3-4-3-4 goals!

I can’t ignore the man of the moment and Omar Bogle snot a player likely to have a quiet game. The in-form Mariner’s talisman has 14 goals to his name so far and has scored 5 in the last 3 with 2 braces for good measure!

    GRIMSBY OVER 1.5 TGS…6/5

    GRIMSBY OVER 2.5 TGS…4/1

    OMAR BOGLE ATGS…11/10

    OMAR BOGLE BRACE…11/2

There are 3 polish ekstraklasa matches today and I think 2 look good for goals. Korona kielce average over 3 goals a game and have conceded a massive 35 goals in 16 games. Pogon Szczecin avearge around 3 goals a game. Over 2.5 goals pays evens.

Next up is ruch v Jagiellonia. Jagiellonia are flying and average scoring 2 goals a game but dont often keep a clean sheet. Ruch arent great and concede on average 2 a game but knlw how to score. H2h stats are very encouraging. Again over 2.5 goals pays evens.

    Good look to all today.

Lack of interweb in my street last weekend had me biting my nails down to a stump and wrecked my chances of posting my pre-derby thoughts.
Adding to sleep pattern that’s been all over the place that weekend wrecked my chance of even jumping onto a shop treble of Bala ( wales ) Barcelona and Derby treble. I missed out on a juicy comfortable treble as Bala won 4 nil, Barcelona I think 4-1 and Derby 3 nil.

I’ve been sticking with my usual overs 0.5’s and I’ve been making too much positive progress to jump off script and last night and noting Bala were to face Aberystworth for the 3rd time in 4 straight matches, they’d put them to the sword comfortably the last 2 meets and I know they were leading 2 nil but for the sake of my bank builder it rolled on last night up to £142 ( + £30 already banked ).

    Anyway onto Derby:

WE beat Rotherham 3 nil at the weekend and Ince got 2. He also had 2 penalties – missed the first and buried the rebound, but missed the 2nd. Vydra came on as a late sub and should of added to the scoreline since it flattered Rotherham. They were absolutely shocking.
It could easily of been a very very high scoring game.
Before the 2nd international break started, I did say I couldn’t wait for us to face off against Rotherham, not sure if anyone picked up on that.

On to today where we entertain the canaries at the Ipro. I’ve never made a secret of October/November being Derby’s purple part of the season and sadly, our limelight time has been rudely interrupted by 2x international breaks.
Our last 3 matches is 3 straight wins including a solid away 3-2 at Wolves who are much improved on last season, and a very impressive 2 nil home win to Sheff Wed – a match we were lucky to of got something out of. The last 7 reads 4 wins 2 draws and a loss. The loss to Huddersfield was a 90th minute sucker punch against the run of play and Reading did the same to us at their ground to get a late equaliser.
Its points on the board and whilst I’m happy to see the rams finally hitting some form, I am disappointed at the lost points.
Norwich had a flying start to the season and this past 2 months has been the opposite of Derby’s. They seem to be tumbling and although I do expect Norwich to turn up, with a re-invigorated Derby side full of confidence, I can’t see the canaries getting anything better than a draw. It’s the confidence thing that jumps out at me and with Derby at 11/10 with bet365, IF my bank builder continues up until the main kickoff times, i’ll sideline a cheeky £10 on the Rams win.

The boss seems to of stuck Ince and Russell out on the wings, with Bent in the middle. Anya and Vydra seem to be nailed to the bench.
I have to take my hat off to Bent though in the goal against Wolves, if you’ve not seen it yet, treat yourself to a potential goal of the season.

I should be around for kickoff, I can’t see the boss making too many changes, but what is quite worrying is that we have so much talent sitting on the bench that just can’t force their way in to the squad. Hopefully come the last 4 months of the season, we’ll see a little squad rotation before then and we won’t do another ” Derby ” season finale.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

Cheers, I quite fancy Derby today but Norwich need to get going again.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

I agree. I’ve found a few bits and bobs by digging around. Derby couldn’t buy an early goal before McClaren arrived, now he seems to of instilled the philosophy ” its a game of 2 halfs, and you don’t have to score all your goals in the last half “. In order of most recent going back 3 matches, we’ve scored 2 in the 1st half against Rotherham, 2 in the first half away to Wolves and 1 at home to Sheff Wed in the first half.
Derby to score in the first half with bet365 is 5/6.

Norwich are 3rd ranked for attack but 21st in form and defence from the last 7 matches.

Also, In the last 2 matches, Ince has ” earned ” – I use that term loosely – 3 penalties. scoring 2 of them. 4 goals – 2 in each of our last two matches. If the wind picks up by an extra mph, he will fall over in the box ( worse than Chris Martin, but has better diving skills than Tom Daley ). It seems he’s our 1st choice penalty taker. I have not looked at the price for him to score from the spot, but he’s 7/4 with bet365 to net at any time. He is a shoe-in for a start and seems to of taken up that poacher role that Bent doesn’t bring to the table.

    • nathanufton 7 years ago

Derby are unchanged from the side that beat Rotherham:

      Carson
      Baird/Keogh/Pearce ( Captain)/Lowe
      Johnson/Hughes/Butterfield
      Ince/Bent/Russell

Norwich have made 3 changes and Wes Hoolahan I believe is back, but they’re knida like where Derby were at the start of the season not knowing who their best 11 is. From 6 matches, they’ve lost their last 4 and drawn 2.
The last time we faced them, they were promoted but it ended 1-1 and 2-2 that season. Can’t see it being a draw.
The radio commentary has emphasised my early statement. Confidence.
I’m also glad to see the armband has been passed to Pearce, he’s more of a leader.

Also, Hughes contract that runs out in 2018 has rejected a new contract – I think its standard to turn down a 1st offer, but I also think that he’s destined for the Premiership. Maybe we’ll keep him long enough to get him into the premiership and thus the inflated transfer fee. His classy dink over Wolves defence to feed Bents over the shoulder volley has seemingly put him back on the radar of the premiership big boys. We got £10 mill for Hendrick and we turned down £12 mill 2 seasons back for Hughes.

Found the card a little tricky but I’m taking on the slightly shorter odds again after last night’s success. Sunderland are on a bit of an upturn, but their results have come against a terrible Hull side and they were extremely fortunate to concede just one when beating Bournemouth. Liverpool, on the other hand, have been blistering at home this season.

Newcastle have established themselves as the top dogs in the Championship, as we all expected in the summer. They seem capable of putting one or two past anyone in the league. Blackburn aren’t a poor side but are prone to conceding on their travels. Gayle is in form for Newcastle and they should be looking to build upon their convincing win at Leeds last time out.

    Bury v Millwall

I’m surprised no one is tipping against Bury today. 9 losses in a row and conceding 24 goals. 2 red cards during the week is not going to help their cause today either. Millwall are no great shakes but they should find the net a couple of times today. Last time out against Preston was the first time in 14 games that they had failed to score in an away game. It was also the first time in 14 games that btts and o2.5 goals didnt come in. As bad as Bury are they usually manage to score at home.

    Millwall 23/20

I’d be careful, Chris Brass seems to have instilled a little confidence and stability in the camp – proof of the resilience agai nst a strong Blades outfit midweek.

Leading scorer To Pope aet for a comeback alongside Vaughan up top – potentially the strongest partnership in League 1 for the opening 8 weeks of the campaign.

      Good luck.

I see Pope is starting alright Hullshaker. Not as confident now with my Millwall bet but the goals bets will hopefully be okay.

I’ve had a cracking November so far and the in play goals accas (Goal Line) have really been the one for me, I’m 150 points in profit for this month (£1500) with the large majority coming from the large multiple goals accas.

Have found the improved odds of goal line selections really bump up the potential winnings in these accas.

I haven’t been posting these tips as they have been in play 12-14 fold accas and there simply isn’t time to post every game before a goal happens.

However I’m going to make my selections before Kick Off today and am going for the following.

    Al’s Madhead Goal Line acca

    Newcastle v Blackburn – Over 2, 2.5
Scun thorpe v Oxford United – Over 2
    Leicester v Middlesborough – Over 1.5, 2
    Reading v Bristol City – Over 2
    Crawley Town v Grimsby – Over 2
    Chelsea v Spurs – Over 2

I’m a big fan of backing Palace and corners as they sit 4th in the corner table and average 6.17 a game. Swansea are 15th in the corner table, average 6 corners a game against and only 3.87 for.

    Either O5.5 Corners Palace @ 2.1 or Palace -1 corner handicap @ 2.6

I tend to steer clear of handicaps for the away side, but at those odds and with the stats backing it up the 2.6 looks good.

O 10 Corners in Reading v Bristol city also looks good @ 1.9

The double is a shade under 5-1

    Good luck!

Sadly Derby never really got going in the first half until the last 8 minutes and the whistle came at the wrong time. It took us till then to start growing into the game.
The 2nd half has seen the rams have a handful of half chances where the wrong decision/ball was played. The radio are berating everyone in a Derby shirt – underperforming, then up pops Hughes who just seemed to spend far too long running with the ball – squared to Johnson and there’s the 1 nil rams scoreline.
Usually Chris Martin used to score against his former club, this time it seems Johnson has taken up that job.
Although he’s been a bit limp, there’s still time for Ince to get one. Maybe its time to swap out Bent for Vydra.

    Both winners. :-)

2 games later on in Ecuador should see some goals.

    Delfin v Fuerza Amarillo.
Both teams are struggling but they are both capable of scoring goals. Delfin have scored 13 goals in their last 6 home games but have conceded in 5 of them. Fuerza are not the most prolific team away from home but have scored in 6 of their last 8 away from home conceding in 7 of them.

    LDU QUITO VS. RIVER PLATE:

Price looks a little too big here for 3 or more goals and despite LDU’s lower scoring games of late – they have more than enough to score at least 2 themselves whilst always prone to conceding one!

LDU have conceded in each of their last 4 whilst River Plate have scored in their own most recent 4 games.
