I’VE got a few rules to adhere to on a Sunday – no early games and no late ones involving French sides.

The late French game has bombed my fivefold twice recently and the team that let me down last weekend are in action again in the 8pm kick-off at home to Lille. I’m not touching it of course so it will probably end 3-2.

I’m starting in the EPL with the big game – Chelsea v Man City. The Blues should be fired up to impress new boss Rafael Benitez while the unbeaten champions will be trying to bounce back from their Champions League exit.

Three of the last four meetings have seen both net including 4-2 and 3-2 victories for City.

I quite like the look of Southampton v Newcastle but instead I’m heading north for East Stirling v Berwick in the Scottish Third Division.

Shire netted two against Rangers with 10 men last week as they crashed 6-2 and on that evidence they should net at home to Berwick.

Five of Shire’s last six have seen both score and six out of six in Berwick’s matches with the latter netting six and conceding nine in their last three.

My third choice is from Germany and it’s Hoffenheim v Bayer Leverkusen. There have been 12 goals in the last three encounters while Hoff’s previous three home games ended 1-3, 3-2 and 3-3.

Bayer drew a blank at Metalist in the Europa League with a weakened side but had scored in the previous five so should be on target here.

Stay in the Bundesliga with bottom dogs Augsburg v Borussia Moenchengladbach. Augsburg are by no means prolific but have improved their goals record by scoring in three of their last four.

Four of Borussia’s last five have seen both score and they conceded two to struggling Greuther Freuth but still won 4-2.

I could have been annoying and completed the line with Levante v Barcelona at 8pm. Barca have been conceding in most games so I fancy that one but dont’ want you to have to wait again.

So instead I’ll go with PSV v Vitesse in the Dutch League. It’s first v third and amazingly Vitesse head to Dick Advocaat’s side defending a 100 per cent league record.

It’s six out of six, with 13 goals for and one against, and they won 2-0 at Ajax.

So this will be a test for PSV but after netting 11 in their last two games against Dutch opponents they’ll be ready and it could be a cracker.

Both teams to score

Chelsea v Man City (4.0)

East Stirling v Berwick (3.0)

Hoffenheim v Bayer Leverkusen (4.30)

Augsburg v B M’gladbach (4.30)

PSV v Vitesse (1.30)

Just looked at Augsburg, 8 goals in about 12, if that’s an improvement like you said, i’d hate to see what they used to be like…trying to find an alternative but it’s not easy on a sunday

John, don’t look at form over 12 games it’s too many. The improvement is three goals in their last two including two last time out away to Frankfurt. I mentioned a couple of alternatives in the piece if you want to leave this one out.

John, nae luck with Swansea. I need an East Stirling goal in the last 15 minutes to get my first two up.

If you only get 1 from 5 will that be classed as a single and you’ll get something?

John, no that’s not the case. I can’t get more than one wrong. I advise perming fourfolds and fivefold (6 bets). If you did singles and got just one right you’d be well down.

When my bet went down i thought Stuttgart looked good to score 2 goals as they were only 1 down so put a small bet on it and then thought about Bale anytime for spurs but didn’t bet on it….no prizes for guessing which one happened :-)

The one team i thought would let the line down have scored…lol goes to show what i know

John, that will be Augsburg then. They have now scored in four of their last five. But best I can do is 4 out of 5 after Shire failed. Sod’s law. They netted two against Rangers and none against a Berwick side who were down to 10 men for the last half an hour.

When i write my fourfold or fivefold on a betting slip how do i write the “perm any 3 and all 4″ or “perm any 4 and all 5″ on them?

John, exactly as you’ve done it. Perm any 4 and all 5 (6 bets). Then put in your stake.
