IT’S not the easiest looking card but let’s give it a go with a mixture of homes and aways.

I’m starting with a side who’ll be the centrepiece of many accumulators and let’s hope that’s a good thing.

Championship leaders Crystal Palace head for former manager Neil Warnock’s Leeds and the Londoners look in great shape. Ian Holloway has carried on where Dougie Freedman left off with three successive wins to make it five in a row overall.

Leeds on the other hand have lost three on the bounce including a 6-1 home trouncing by Watford. Palace look decent at 23-17.

I’m putting up one short-priced side from the Championship and that’s Middlesbrough at home to Bristol City. I can’t see Boro slipping up to a side who have lost six in a row and look really short of confidence. Boro remain in the promotion hunt and have lost just once at home this season so back them at 6-11.

Doncaster did me a turn in midweek away to Carlisle and I’m tipping them to make it three wins in a row against an inconsistent but dangerous Scunthorpe side.

You don’t always know what you’re getting with Scunny but they’ve lost their last two at the Keepmoat and could struggle against an outfit whose confidence is building. Doncaster are

Southend were another team I profited on in midweek and Paul Sturrock’s men look back to their best after big wins at Wimbledon and against Torquay. In fact they are unbeaten in six and moved to within a point of the play-off zones, just behind Rochdale and Exeter.

Rochdale are their opponents this weekend and their form has been OK with just one defeat in six and three draws. But they’ll need to be at their best to stop the Southend juggernaut as it moves into top gear. Sturrock’s troops are 28-29. And if they made them evens it would make my calculations much easier!

Complete the line with a biggie and it’s Hamilton at Falkirk in the Scottish First Division. After a dreadful start Accies have won two in a row with two clean sheets – away to Morton and home to Partick Thistle.

Boss Billy Reid has changed tact to tighten up the defence and it’s worked. He’ll be looking for three wins on the spin at a Falkirk side struggling so badly that fans have been calling for boss Steven Pressley’s head.

Falkirk have won just one in six to slip to third bottom but they know a win will put them above Accies. However, I think Hamilton are worth a look at 21-10.

Five to Follow

    Paddy power offering west brom to win either half is 10/11 but for them to be winning at ht or ft is 13/10 for those interested. Not betting on this game just cos of early kickoff but if Sunderland never won last week west beom would’ve bn the first team on ma line

      Craig, I like the look of West Brom but I’m equally aware they could fail to turn up and lose. Look at Everton at Reading and Man Utd at Norwich last week. In reality most sides can beat any of the others at home. It’s about who performs on the day and WBA wouldn’t be one of first my picks.

    This year ive lost my home,job and self respect and ive got £1.70 in my pocket so im hoping to somehow perform a miracle with it so my family will have a decent weekend for a change,what accumulator would you suggest? { no im not joking,only wish i was }

      Seanmac, I hope you’re joking. Firstly, there are no guaranteed bets, especially accas. If I was down to my last £1.70 I’d buy a lottery ticket and put the other 70p on a btts 10-timer.

    Irish Lotto tomorrow night mate. Pick 3 numbers between 1 – 45 and put 50p on each draw (£1.50 total) -. 3 chances to win at 650-1 in Betfred shops. Returns £325 if it comes in. Then with your remaing 20p fire on the goals galore both teams to score bonus list. You get 5000-1 for 15 games, 3000-1 for 12 etc. Long shots but healthy returns if it comes in. Surely you’re due a bit of luck… Keep your chin up.

      Bingo, what will the guys who want btts trebles say about this. 15 games. Don’t know if you read about my Lucky Line of the Week winner in today’s Record. He put £2 on 15 games last weekend to win more than £6k.
