SUNDAY didn’t look the best card but I managed to land my Super Single and Mr Consistent Greg picked two winners out of three.
Inter to win to nil brought up the Super Single but Caen were one goal away from landing the Top Treble and the both teams to score treble fell at the first hurdle.
Greg came up trumps with over 3.5 match goals at Salzburg but was short on over 1.5 first-half goals. He was also spot on with over 1.5 Gimnastic team goals.
My winning run on Bet of the Day on the forum ended at five after Fiorentina’s surprise draw at home to Empoli but on the golf thread it was another good day for Ace with one 20-1 winner Kevin Kisner and two places from five players tipped.
It’s a quiet Monday ahead of a busy week of European football and that could work both ways. In the Premier League it’s Crystal Palace v Sunderland and it’s difficult to see past the Eagles who won at Liverpool last time out.
However, at a best price of 4-7 – the shortest they’ve been for a Premier League game – I’m leaving this alone. There is a school of thought that Big Sam will do a job on Palace who are better as a counter-attacking team.
Sunderland could frustrate the life out of their hosts and nick one or it could go the other way and if Palace snatch an early goal they could go on to win easily.
In La Liga a Getafe side on a rotten run entertain Rayo Vallecano who have won two of their last three. It’s likely to be a close contest but it’s worth noting Rayo have won on all four of their recent trips – all by a single goal.
Having looked at this more closely the teams are closely matched but Rayo seem to be Getafe’s jinx side. There is no team news to put me off Rayo but instead of backing them to win I’m going Rayo draw no bet at 23-20 with Willliam Hill.
Elsewhere Mr Orange might be the man to advise about the strength of line-ups for Jong PSV v Jong Ajax while fourth-place Le Havre face Brest in French Ligue 2. Again they look closely matched and if I was to have a bet it would be on goals. Four of the last five meetings in Eindhoven have seen both score so that’s my call but it pays 6-11 at 888sport.
I’ve looked at some other games and while Le Havre are being tipped at home to Brest and Braunschweig at Nurnberg I’m making Rayo my only bet of the day ahead of a packed Tuesday card.
