MYSELF and Greg enjoyed a no-bet day on Thursday and we wish it had been a no-bet Friday too.
In fact it turned out to be a Freaky Friday with shock defeats for Borussia Dortmund, Lyon and Go Ahead – three sides I backed and who were mentioned lots of times on the site for good reason.
It was the manner of the defeats that were the biggest surprise with the trio of hot favourites losing by at least two goals. In fact a treble on Dortmund, Lyon and Go Ahead would have paid more than 100-1 but I bet no one was on it. Hamburg alone were 8-1 in places yet were three ahead before Pierre-Emerick Aubayemang's late consolation.
That didn't matter much except it made it four in a row on my Bet of the Day feature on the new forum.
My only other success of the night was with St Mirren v Morton as I tipped Morton DNB and under two goals. It took a 90th-minute equaliser to earn Morton a point but they were the better team and should have won.
Greg's Nap was Westerlo to score because although they're bottom they've been netting loads of goals on the road. Not this time though as they lost a man in 27 minutes as they crashed 5-0 at Gent.
So a busy Friday was a flop and that was a shame after a decent week for myself and Greg on the quieter nights.
Let's hope we can pull some rabbits out of the hat on a full Saturday card and watch out for Greg's tips on his own thread.

Sorry i didn’t post the tips but some of them were a bit tricky, last night for example i halved the £4000 id earned & put £2000 on Dusseldorf at half time @2.40 to beat Duisburg. They score in around the 72nd minute and i cash straight out for £3800, then Duisburg score instantly after; so if i posted the ones who followed would of more than likely lost . So I’ve withdrawn £5550 & placed a treble for £250 and returns is £1751.

2 changes from the side beaten at forest before the international break in which we were dreadful, much like forest, but to be fair, they did deserve to beat us, we were just not good enough. I don’t think we managed to string 2 passes together all match and took 87 mins to register one shot ( a header from bent ) on target. I’m inclined to believe poor rotation of a squad that was fatigued played a major role in the way we played. It was like watching pinball, but both sides were bad.
Hendrick had a stormer for Rep of Ireland and Keogh had a good game too, maybe the boss is just giving Hendrick a breather, but seeing Ince back in the squad is a good thing. He’s stuck with Weimann and Russell has looked 2 yards off the pace this past few games so I think its the right call for him to rest him.
Warnock in left back is due to Forsyth’s season long injury, but was the only bright spark in the dreary last game.
I personally don’t like the lack of bite we have in midfield and I guess we shall see today, but no Hendrick and leaving Bryson on the bench ( who needs match time ) is a worry. It looks a toothless linkage from midfield to the front 3.
Having said that, I do think we have enough to edge out a win against a vastly improved Cardiff side from last year. this match last season ended 2-2.
Its too short at approx. 8/15 as a super single and if I’m honest, I’m not that inspired to recommend a handicap ( Asian or otherwise ) on this match.
we have Hull/Sheff Wed and Brighton after this match and only 4 points from the top . lost twice in the league so far and I think we really need to be upping our game to be taking on the likes of Brighton and Hull in the coming weeks.
